A charming place, warm and welcoming staff, a quiet room. An excellent evening meal at the restaurant. An address that I highly recommend. We stayed in Ireland with my partner and of all the hotels we stayed in, it was the Halfway House Hotel in Larne that we preferred! Thank you for your welcome.

A little gem on the Antrim Coast Road. The Staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. The food is always good with excellent sized portions. The roast beef is delicious. As a family we have eaten here regularly over many years , I can honestly say we've always had good meals. Dave and Wendy are so welcoming, like home from home.

My husband and I had lunch here today with my brother and sister in law. I can't recommend it highly enough, the setting is beautiful, looking unto the sea, the decor is lovely and the staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. I had the cajun blackened chicken which came with a salad and chips, the other three had roast beef which came with vegetables and a choice of sides, including garlic potatoes, champ and chips. As they had the special lunch menu it came with apple pie and custard or peaches and ice cream. I had an Anericano and they had Rose and white wine. The bill for 4 was £94 which for the quality and portion size was great value. Will be back in a heartbeat 💓

Four of us ate here one evening midweek. The staff were very friendly attentive and the staff ensured our drinks and food order were taken promptly. Reasonable variety of menu options at very reasonable prices compared to where we live in Kent, although as previous reviewer’s have mentioned some of the options are from the 80’s/90’s era. The food was however very tasty, well presented and there was plenty of it. Overall a good experience and if back in the area would certainly revisit.

Bearing in mind we hadnt booked so fantastic service even before we had eaten. Menu is exceptional having loads to choose from so there is something here for everyone. Four of us opted for the roasts and one choose the sweet and sour chicken. All food was beautiful and plentiful.after dinner i decided to look around the place to see what other areas were like. The place is really lovelly so quaint. Toilets are spotless as is everywhere else. Staff are young and vibrant and charming which nowadays is rare. Anyway. Decided on desserts and they also were fantastic. So much again to choose from. Have stayed in supposedly top class hotels such as lough erne and galgorm this little place has blew us away in every way. Shame on these 5 star hotels. This little one tops them for us. Altho we havent stayed over yet this will be rectified very very soon. On paying the bill we were served by the manager who is ex boxer dave boy mccauley. I remember him back then and it was a pleasure to get talking to him. What a true gentleman. So go here try it because nobody should be dissapointed. Driving up the coast route on the 12th and decided to try out the food. The staff are very welcoming which was the only saving grace. When we walked in I thought that we had gone back to the 70s. The special for the day was steak and onion pie. We should have turned round but hunger took over.My wife ordered sweet and sour chicken with rice £10.50 I ordered open prawn sandwich which came with chips. £12.95.The food duly came and was placed in front of us. O dear this is where the 70s comes in. The open prawn sandwich came with 1 1/2 slices of thin shop bought wheaten bread. Surely that should be at least 2slices or its not a sandwich. On the plate which was a rectangle of about 10 X 5 inches half was covered with lettuce, sweetcorn, grated carrot, grated cheese, sliced red onion, slices of red and green peppers. The prawns would have fitted into a ramequine dish. All covered with Marie rose sauce. My wife's sweet and sour was very poor quality ingredients very badly put together and cooked poorly. The total bill was £28.45. The extra being 2 very nice coffees. In catering you only have one chance for return custom and that is the first. We will never be back. Crossed off our list.

Called in for a quick lunch on the way up the coast. Chicken and sweet chilli Ciabatta, ciabatta was flattened to a thin wafer like sandwich with a slither of chicken, the sauce was sparse and tacky with a poor looking excuse for a side salad. Ploughmans lunch fared no better, one small triangle of cheddar cheese propped up with two pieces of ham, a dollop of pickle accompanied by another sad looking side salad and a slice of brown bread. One pot of tea for two £4, and not a large pot at that. Service was slow considering there was no/ little cooking to this lunch. Outside is great, fab views and large car park, but wouldn't return. Very disappointing.

Yes it may need a bit of a facelift... but the food and staff is brilliant... decded to go at short notice this Sunday.. fancied the roast beef dinner..very tender..didnt need a knife to cut it.. flavoursome and generous.. my party were aged 10 yrs to 80 yrs.. no one could fault their dishes.. and sitting looking out at a lovely calm sea just added to it.. i travelled 45 mins for the meal and was glad i did.. meal and staff honest and good.

We have a meal here a couple of times a year.Very comfortable atmosphere, welcoming staff and great well presented food.Very homely, not 5*.but have never been let down yet.Children are well catered for, with real chicken nuggets, sausages etc and are given colouring pages to occupy them.Great roast beef dinners are served which are awesome! Also a fantastic menu at good prices. Please go along and enjoy a truly great meal, in great surroundings and people who welcome you like family

We had hesitated over whether to go to the Tea Room for food after seeing negative reviews, but are so glad we went. Arrived at 12 noon at start of lunch menu. Family meal- 2 kids and 2 adults. Food was delicious, served really quickly and presented really well. Goujons were so fresh and the club sandwich was so tasty. We had a lovely meal, in beautiful surroundings, and were ready to enjoy the rest of our day. Will definitely be back!

The ambience was so nice. We enjoyed our dinner . Food was good. Drinks too were good. There Bailey's cheesecake was a pleasure. The servers were so nice and their smiles made our evening well spent. The chicken steak with peppercorn sauce was also really good. Recommended.
