Vanilla Restaurant

Shimna, Down
26/01/2019: I can see why Vanilla is popular and why the only booking I could get was at 5.30pm !
22/01/2019: Hadn't been here for ages. Great Ribeye steak which practically melted in the mouth. Good big portions too and food not bad value. Amazing serve of Jawbox gin with honeycomb, and amazing espresso martini which unusually has white chocolate liquier which was lovely. Cocktails and gins are a tiny bit pricey. Service could have been more attentive, it wasn't particularly busy but overall food made up for it and wasn't an issue. Love it. Highly recommend.

Katch 27

Kircubbin, Ards
29/01/2019: Had an excellent meal from the early bird menu on Saturday. Presentation of food was excellent, food was delicious, value for money was super and staff were professional, welcoming and friendly. Would recommend highly!
12/01/2019: We decided to give this place a try after seeing very favourable TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. We had the large fish and chips (with 3 pieces of fish) and the prawn open sandwich, both of which were excellent. The menu is mostly seafood based but there's still something for everyone. We're looking forward to our next visit already. ☺

Ardglass, Down
27/01/2019: I have reviewed Aldos prior on Trip Advisor and our experience today only demonstrated their total consistency.

Robert Stewarts

Drumbo, Lisburn, 20-30£

Belmont Hotel

Ballydown, Banbridge
03/11/2018: Asa frequent traveller i like to stay in different places and get a broader knowledge of a city or country, however, The Belmont will always be my got to place when visiting Belfast.
15/09/2018: Stayed here for one night during a business trip. The rooms are fantastic and the food was equally good, but the over-riding impression I’ll take away from my first ever visit to Northern Ireland was how fun and friendly the staff were, from the receptionist who first greeted me to the very bubbly waitress who served us both dinner and breakfast. If I’m ever back in Norther Ireland I’d definitely stay here again.

Velvet Rose

Dromore North, Banbridge
21/02/2019: It was busy when we arrived so we had to wait for a table. Once seated our order was taken and delivered promptly by pleasant and friendly staff. The special of prawn and salmon curry was very tasty and the generous helping of prawns on the open sandwich was more than adequate and pleasing. The Eve's Pudding which I ordered is a rather unusual item on a desert menu but turned out on arrival to be Queen of Puddings, which nevertheless was very pleasant. Overall it was a good lunch in the very pleasant surroundings of the former Northern bank building.
07/02/2019: The Velvet Rose is found at the site of the old Northern (Danske) Bank on the edge of Dromore's village, opposite the Cathedral, with ample parking to the rear of the building.Downstairs is an eclectic hybrid of a boutique and a baby shop, with attentive sales advisors. Upstairs is a well presented restaurant/coffee shop with attractive décor and comfortable seating.

Ballyhanwood, Castlereagh
07/02/2019: This was a coffee/light dinner occasion with my wife and sister. They serve hot food until six and coffee/tea and desserts from then until closure. Unaware of these arrangements, we made it in time to have the best of both worlds.
02/02/2019: Came here for breakfast on saturday morning. Was quickly seated which was good but i felt the menu was limited. I ordered the french toast and when it came out it was just soaked in the maple syrup. Bacon was a little undercooked and the toast used was the end bits of the loaf. It was far too sweet to eat and was just soggy overall i didn’t finish it. My partner ordered a sweet chilli chicken sandwich which was very dry even with the sauce. Really disappointed with the food here and probably won’t be back!

Daft Eddies

Killinchy, Ards
09/02/2019: Myself and three friends visited Daft Eddie's on Friday night (8th Feb) for a meal. I have to say the staff were all very friendly and attentive. We all ordered different main course (scampi, plaice, sausage and can't remember name of other fish my friend had) and the food was so fresh and tasty. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and there were clean plates left. The location is superb and great atmosphere. I hadn't been in a couple of years but will definitely return to this hidden gem very soon.
29/01/2019: Popped into Daft Eddies for Sunday lunch with no booking made an although there was a fair crowd dining we got a table with a fantastic view,

The Parsons Nose

Hillsborough, Lisburn
10/02/2019: When a meal is really good I have to leave a review. Was here on a Saturday night in Feb with one other friend. Looked after really well and the food was outstanding. Brie and breads for starters, then both had a sirloin and torte and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Absolutely beautiful! Service was just the right amount of interaction.
09/02/2019: Visited the Parsons Nose with family & friends. The setting is very nice, the staff are very attentive and the meals were great. Meals are well priced too, well worth a visit if you are in the area

Out of Habit

Hillsborough, Lisburn
19/01/2019: Lovely lunch, staff excellent and friendly. Recommend. Will return to try all day fry. Had panini with salad, very warming and filling.
19/01/2019: My wife and I stopped for lunch. Great place, friendly staff and lovely food. The French toast was as good as I've had. Would highly recommend it and will return.

The Old Post Office

Lisbane, Ards
24/01/2019: Lovely food. A bit expensive but worth it for a little treat now and again. Lady who served us in the shop after our lunch was nice and friendly. The staff who serve the food are very pleasant. My mum and I like calling in here for a bite to eat and a catch up. I definitely recommend the lasagne and salads. Yum
09/01/2019: Stopped off on the way through and decided to go for the fry - what can I say, it was great!! Big! And not greasy at all. Lovely local produce. Free refills of filter coffee which is always a plus! As I had a four month old I really liked the little nooks and coves where I could feed my baby the place had plenty of room for a car seat beside me. Comfortable surroundings, walks boasted local artists work and the gift shop was full of quirky presents.

Hedley's Restaurant

Hilden, Lisburn
15/01/2019: Love this coffee shop. They provide delicious home cooked food, great tray baked and desserts. The staff are soo friendly and very welcoming. Have been many times and will continue to support Hedleys Restaurant.
09/11/2018: This is definitely the best coffee shop in Lisburn. Choice in Lisburn is pretty limited but this wee spot holds its own for good old fashioned scones and tray bakes. The service is always really friendly and helpful. I often bring my Mum in a wheelchair, and they could not be more helpful in terms of getting us seated and helping us with our food tray. Sometimes it's just nice to be helped!

Pier 36

Donaghadee North, Ards
15/03/2019: I took three other friends for lunch and two of them wanted the fresh battered Scampi we asked the waiter how many pieces of Scamp in a portion he truthfully said I don’t know sorry it’s not my kinda place
13/03/2019: Pier 36 is a great place to eat: quality food; good service and a nice ambience. Try one of their fish dishes. Would recommend.

North Down House

Comber West, Ards, >100£
28/02/2019: Called in at tea time and had the early bird menu. The food was really good, the beer exceptional, the decor fascinating, the staff excellent. Will go again
18/02/2019: Stopped here for tea on the way home, food was good and service friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back .

Rockmount Golf Club

Ballymacbrennan, Lisburn
14/03/2019: Four of us had a lovely lunch here. Friendly service and a great choice on the menu. They have a 5-10-5 option for starter, main course and dessert. We had ham, goats cheese options. A great idea for dessert is to have a half sized dessert and a cup of tea or coffee.
03/03/2019: My wife and I headed out to Rockmount for Friday night tea and were happy to get a table immediately, didn’t get around to booking. Staff were very pleasant and our shared starter of breads arrived promptlyl. The dips were tasty and the warm breads wonderful!
