Kircubbin, Ards
11/12/2018: I've been to Katch 27 several times and hopefully I'll be there several more times
01/12/2018: We have been to this restaurant several time especially recently the staff are very helpful and friendly. The fodd served here is excellent and a wide choice especially fish. The presentation was first class. Woul recommend it anytime

Vanilla Restaurant

Shimna, Down
14/12/2018: Was here during the week while staying in the Slieve Donard. Had booked ahead for the early bird Christmas Dinner although restaurant empty when we arrived at 6.45- it was a rough and windy night outside. The 2 staff on duty were efficient and welcoming with food and drinks menus. I had the squid and beef starter which was absolutely fantastic and my wife loved her Asian spring rolls. She had the Turkey dinner which again she loved and I had the beef cheeks. Both dishes beautifully presented but the only issue was that the beef was very salty and over seasoned- no condiments are on the table to do your own seasoning. The meat was lovely and tender but was overpowered by the salt. I did mention to our waitress towards the end just to clarify. I finished with a nice pana cotta and coffee and with a nice bottle of red it was exceptional value. Just a slight pity about the meat but this is a lovely place well with a visit.
21/11/2018: It’s been a while since I ate here but it’s still as good as ever, the food is delicious and staff are always helpful

Ardglass, Down
21/10/2018: We very much enjoyed our dinner with friends at this restaurant. It was my husband's birthday and they made it fun. We had fresh hake, thought it was prepared very nicely. Mussels were perfectly prepared. Fun staff. Had pavlova for dessert. Yum. Ardglass itself is a wonderful area. Highly recommended. One of it best nights in Ireland.
04/10/2018: This place is amazing. You must go here if visiting Ardglass. We travelled from Sussex to visit family. Was told to try the tornado which we did consists of fillet steak on top off toast topped with pate covered in a lovely sauce or peppercorn all the trimmings including huge onion rings to die for. Treated to this meal by our lovely family. Our next visit will definitely include an Aldo’s return. The staff are amazing and super friendly. Love it. Try it if you haven’t. The menu choice is great and will add remove and replace on request. Fabulous xx

Robert Stewarts

Drumbo, Lisburn, 20-30£

Belmont Hotel

Ballydown, Banbridge
03/11/2018: Asa frequent traveller i like to stay in different places and get a broader knowledge of a city or country, however, The Belmont will always be my got to place when visiting Belfast.
15/09/2018: Stayed here for one night during a business trip. The rooms are fantastic and the food was equally good, but the over-riding impression I’ll take away from my first ever visit to Northern Ireland was how fun and friendly the staff were, from the receptionist who first greeted me to the very bubbly waitress who served us both dinner and breakfast. If I’m ever back in Norther Ireland I’d definitely stay here again.

Daft Eddies

Killinchy, Ards
17/12/2018: My husband, mother and auntie were out on Saturday and decided to call in for lunch as it had been a long time since we had eaten here. We weren't disappointed. The welcome we received from all the staff was fantastic and they made us feel like the only people in the restaurant. The food was good but not outstanding however this didn't matter as the staff and views more than make up for it. We will definitely visit again.
08/11/2018: I took my husband here for his birthday at short notice. We were so warmly welcomed, including our golden retriever. The meal was cooked to order with fresh, local ingredients, a good vegetarian selection and very good value for money. It was a cold, grey day so we didn’t get to enjoy the terrace but the view over the water must be very special on a summers day.

The Salty Dog Hotel and Bistro

Harbour, North Down, 45-60£
11/12/2018: The service was friendly and the food was good with not long to wait and water and treats for are dog
25/11/2018: Stayed one night and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Room was on the top floor with a Seaview however note it’s an old building and no lift. Room had everything you could need and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ordered off a menu and cooked fresh. Local produce including potato and soda bread. It’s in a good central location and lots of locals use it. They allow dogs in which some people will either like or loath as a dog lover I liked it.

Enniskeen Country House Hotel and Restaurant

Shimna, Down
26/11/2018: Back to the Enniskeen while visiting family and enjoyed another lovely stay in a comfortable room with beautiful view. The service is exemplary - Eileen, Ian and their staff could not do enough for the guests, which is why different bits of our family choose to stay there when we're visiting – two years ago, a group of ten of us had a lovely stay and this time it was also great for the two of us. We had really good bar food on the first evening and dinner on the second night – the food is of a high standard, much of it locally sourced. Ian keeps a good cellar and wines are very reasonably priced. We had a lovely time and look forward to our next visit.
12/11/2018: We love the Enniskeen!! The owners and staff are amazing. So welcoming and helpful. The hotel offers delicious meals in the dining room and the bar area. The grounds are beautiful, with spectacular views into the Mournes. Comfy, beautiful bedrooms. A place to revisit often.

Velvet Rose

Dromore North, Banbridge
13/12/2018: No praise high enough for this venue. Beautiful decor, spotlessly clean, first class service from all the staff and food was worthy of a top restaurant. Christmas menu was reasonably priced as was the standard menu and choices were made from both. Everyone’s main course was beautifully presented and delicious and nothing too much trouble for the staff, despite being busy. Desserts were equally scrumptious. All in all a great choice for our Christmas get together but equally a great choice if you’re just looking for coffee and a snack. Would highly recommend.
11/11/2018: Called into Velvet Rose for coffee..we were not disappointed. The staff were really friendly esp Heather and Meryl. The coffee arrived promptly and hot..we were left alone to chat but they checked in with us to see if we needed anything..will soon be back.

North Down House

Comber West, Ards, >100£
11/12/2018: Haven’t been to this restaurant for a long time and when I dined there recently was very impressed.
11/12/2018: This bistro is crying out to be modernised. Not a place for a special night out. The food is ‘just ok’. Service was OK. Won’t rush back.

Brunels Restaurant

Donard, Down
11/12/2018: Booked family of 10. Greeted on arrival orders placed and on table in no time. I had the Mussels which were biggest and tastiest ever. Belly of pork delicious as was the following sweet. All in my group were delighted with the premises, food, staff, quiet music and ambience. We were treated like VI P s. Paul the proprietor took time to speak with us which was appreciated. Next time I will give the bench seats a missll as they are to upright for my comfort.
09/12/2018: Easy booking, wonderful warm welcome, food fabulous, friendly staff. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Pier 36

Donaghadee North, Ards
17/12/2018: Dinner just ok,could have been hotter. Very pleasant staff. Make you very welcome. So nic vas they were I just couldn't complain.
16/12/2018: Went on Friday evening & Food was terrible! The Pate came with two big slices of bread. The chicken dish was over cooked, covered with a bit of greenery & an accompanying small pot of spicy wedge type potatoes. All unattractive & tasteless. The Xmas pudding & custard tasted of vegetable broth (very bizarre & certainly a new experience.) The person next to me couldn’t eat the creme brûlée, it wobbled like a jelly & was also inedible! This place needs a chef!!

Out of Habit

Hillsborough, Lisburn
29/09/2018: A small terraced house turned into an upmarket coffee shop. Fancied a coffee and a sausage roll. No sausage rolls despite a bakery next door.
04/09/2018: I was looking for somewhere for breakfast and stumbled across this great little place breakfast was beautifully cooked and great customer service with a smile perfect place to stop with parking on the street will definitely be stopping again 5 *

Ballyhanwood, Castlereagh
30/11/2018: Have been to Binkys a few times and on all occasions the food has been reasonably good. Nothing spectacular but tasty enough. I always find the seats are very grubby and look like they could do with being reupholstered. Tables are usually always sticky and in need of cleaning. Their cappuccino is never really that warm so get it drunk quick. Desserts are nice. Staff are helpful. Good selection to choose from.
24/11/2018: I've been a few times already. It's alright and a bit of a hit or miss with the food and the service. The food isn't great quality and the coffee isn't either so I find it a bit pricey for what you get. It's not terrible either hence the 3 stars.

Harbour and Company

Donaghadee North, Ards
05/11/2018: Always a favourite spot for us - warm, friendly welcome, great food, attentive staff. Plus that view from the huge picture window - guests over from Manchester were amazed !
20/10/2018: My wife and I come here usually on a Saturday for lunch. Upstairs is roped off, so we have no choice but to eat downstairs in the bar area, which is ok, but as usual, the TV's are set to sport, the local bookie junkies are shouting at the three screens, the TV volumes are above speaking volumes, so it is difficult to have a conversation. I don't know why we bother, but the food is generally good. Today we had Tapas of Bbq ribs, chicken wings and crab claws, a main of pizza. The food was spot on, the atmosphere wasn't, unless you like screaming football fans shouting in the background. A few things to fix which I have raised. Fix the date on the receipt, it shows June. Fix the left hand tap in the Gents loo, it runs constantly, I've raIsed it a few times with the staff, but if you're happy to heat the constantly running warm water, and pay for it, then knock yourself out. That's why I scored a 2.
