Lovely food best fish supper we have had in a while. You have to try it well worth it

Service was extremely slow, fish batter wasn’t cooked enough so it was very soggy, chips were soft and mushy, not good value for money

Burger was not nice and pretty dry and tasteless and I asked for a large chip but it was tiny. Also everything is very overpriced and much cheaper down the road.

Food was lovely, definitely recommend. Batter was a bit greasy but not off putting. Great prices too. They have an ice cream counter, do milkshakes and have one sit in table and 2 picnic tables outside. Staff were so nice 🙂

Smashing spot. First time I'd tried and will definitely be back. It is very popular and busy with lots of phone orders but we'll worth the wait.

This place is not only a take away chip shop, it does pizza made from scratch, Sunday dinners (different every week), freshly made chicken goujons in the tastiest sf coating ever. They have feature chips and burgers every week, ranging from a pizza burger to a mac n cheese burger. It is run by the nicest people who genuinely care about the community!

Lovely food prepared by a lovely family. My favorite chippy by far. Consistently good quality and price. Always tasty. 5 stars.

My favorite chippy by a country mile. Always great food, and the Sunday dinners are by far best I've had. Very tasty and reasonably priced for the quality and quantity provided. Also run by a lovely family. Highly recommended.

We ate from here two days in a row and the food was great on both occasions. Sunday dinners from here are excellent would 100% recommend it. The staff are super helpful and friendly will definitely eat here again when we are back.

The staff was super friendly. The meal was amazing. My fish (fish and chips) was far bigger than the one I got in Bham. I was even made a surprise by a staff. "Cream soda and ice cream." Thanks so much, guys. ✨

First time here and got to say it was beautiful food. Well worth the wait as u can tell alot of care and dedication goes in to making sure ur foods at the highest standard. Highly recommend.

Not sure if they've changed they're chips or the oil they're fried in but something is different and they taste amazing. Good food all round!!

To be honest not what I was expecting. I got fish supper and 3 X kids meals along with onion rings, gravy and curry. The fish was pretty tasteless and the curry and gravy had a strange flavour which rendered them useless. The kids meals are extremely small portions and do not come with a drink unless I was not given them. The onion rings were great but overall I was disappointed having decided to give this place a try.

Telephone order at 5pm, told 15-20 mins. Arrived at 520pm to be told 5 mins. 555pm told they had lost my docket. Won't be back

great place for meals, fish was delicious, and prices good as fish was quite big, portions are great thank you will return again.

Top quality ingredients, above average preparation; if you thought you'd call in for a fish supper, do - you'll be pleasantly surprised at the menu choice and quality of the food. We loved the chilli chips (fresh chillis!); we are hardened burger fans and this was one of the best. I had the battered cod and, I should say, when they offer cod, it's cod, not a cheaper fish - big flakes!

Were to start, waited 45 minutes for my order, when I approached the female member of staff she was rather rude. Told me she was in newcastle yesterday and waited 1.5 hours and she didn't complain about the wait as it was busy. I didn't know what to say to her ignorance. Every chippy I've ever been too is rather quick and should they be busy and take that bit longer they apologise for the wait. I had no issue with the wait I was asking when it would be ready as I'd been waiting 45 mins already! I got home to find they had given me a portion of fish goujons instead of chicken 🐔 . Generally I'd have given the goujons up as a mistake and got on with life but the ignorance of the staff member concreted my decision not to return as a customer. Maybe said staff member should under go how to speak to customers.

Lovely (late) lunch today. Had heard good reports, and they were well justified. Light, crisp batter on a generous portion of cod, smashing burger, and surprisingly delicious salt and chilli chips with fresh chilli! Lovely job! :-D

First time here, staff friendly despite covid screens etc and the food was great. They have a great pager system to manage the que.

After a pleasant walk along a board walk and on Cloughey beach you cross the main road to the Chip Buddy. It’s an ice cream & chip shop in one. Yummy 😋

Great stop in Cloughey while passing through. Stopped for a Chippy tea followed with a Mullins Ice cream! On street parking directly outside. Hand sanitizing station present. Great ordering & queuing system in place. Place order at counter and get a buzzer ro enable you to wait outside or in your car so social distancing can be maintained. When order ready, the buzzer vibrates and you go to the counter to collect your order! Picnic tables outside to eat food also. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Chip buddy cloughey serve the best chips just like homemade. Thought we would try a fish and we were not disappointed...lovely chunky fish with crisp batter.delighted that we can purchase great food.!

Love the chips at chip butty. Just last couple of times they have been a wee bit hard which spoils them otherwise best chips around

It’s hard to find a good chippy but the chip buddy in Cloughey is certainly good. The haddock supper was delicious and very good value. Definitely worth a visit. 👌

We sat in the house next door to Chip Buddy and this was our go to for food. Very delicious meals. The chips are amazing, the fish and the burgers as well. Everything we ordered was cooked with good quality ingredients. Great prices too. The people were very nice and friendly. We saw loads of people going in, it's clearly a well liked food place.

Called in to give this chippy a try. Oh my word, the chips are amazing! Proper chippy chips,perfect for sharing on the beach! They have a great menu and take debit cards. Next time you are in the area,call in for a yummy takeaway!

Glad to see it reopened. Dropped in for a portion of Portavogie Scampi and they had it in. Not the cheapest around but the portion is of a good size and the staff are friendly. Great selection of dishes too!
