The best restaurants serving British food in South Eastern NI

I've heard so many great comments about Trait I thought I'd give it a go. Went to the shop in Belfast city centre. I had an amazing Croissant and an americano. Lovely atmosphere. Even though the shop was busy the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. I'll definitely be back.

Walked in and they were pretty busy. As first timers to the cafe there was no welcome, no info about whether to wait to be seated or find a spot for ourselves. We hung around the door unsure and uncomfortable. The waiter, a young man dressed in sportswear, told us there were very busy, very shortstaffed (as if it was our problem/fault) and that there would be a wait. Didn’t say where, so we still hung around the door feeling like awkward, unwelcome and unwanted miscreants. Eventually he cleared and cleaned a table for us upstairs, handed us a menu and we had to find the spot for ourselves. The menu was uninspiring, we weren’t offered a drink when we sat down and the table was sticky and still had gloop on from whoever had used it previously. Totally negative experience. We walked out before we had the chance to order. If there is a manager reading this, an apology would be appropriate.

The last time I was there they were only accepting cash and not cards. Be prepared. Food good selection and very friendly staff

Nice and friendly staff , cosy atmosphere and delicious food. The cafe is one of the best What else?!

£5 for a large ice cream with 2 sauces and loads of toppings…. Enough for 2 people to share ……delicious even in the rain

Stopped as a part of our cycling trip to grab food in the advertised award winning Dundrum Inn, Placed 5 orders: One was overcooked Two were wrong orders Two were forgotten after one hour and when they did arrive they were overcooked No plates were removed Repeated requests for water were ignored Bar was empty and we had to come to staff to order drinks No apologies when we went to pay Poor experience all round

We had dinner there and the food was OK but nothing to write home about, sadly. Lovely staff and nice outlook but a bit lacking in atmosphere.

When we arrived we were asked if we had booked but as we hadn't we were given a table in the kids corner.(We were a group of 4 adults , 13 and a 10 year old) The waitress taking the drinks order did not wait for everyone on to order had to order again when she brought the kids drink. The cutlery had to be changed at one setting as it dirty with dry food on it. I had roast beef which was tender but the vegetables were boiled beyond the point of no return. I certainly won't be back.

This has to be one of the strangest dining experiences I've ever had. It is literally like walking into the 70's from the terrible decor to the strange atmosphere they have nailed it. I felt like a child again dining with my parents surrounded by white linen table clothes and staff that must have been there when it was first built. The food is undescribable beige bland vegetables boiled within an inch of there life's and meat that was drier than the Shara dessert. It was all very weird . They brought us the bill half way through our meal like we may run out at anytime. The staff are all in bizarre uniforms that look like faulty towers the whole experience was definitely different. I would not recommend such a shame as it could have potential especially situated where it is. The food is not cheap either for what they are serving.

Great place. Food excellent. Gluten free menu is the best I’ve seen. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Also great selection of reasonably priced cocktails

First time visiting beautiful location and food was excellent (large portions) and good value in my opinion. It was extremely busy and staff were run off their feet. Ordered from the specials menu and it arrived in ten minutes I was amazed. Top Tip read the menu, click on the QR code and order yourself voila food arrives excellent. I will definitely be back..

Good food, friendly staff. If you want to dine Good food and enjoy a nice, clean and quiet place surrounded with golf course then definitely recommended

Cannot fault this place at all the most lovely staff and the food is outta this world and the portion sizes are just amazing 👌
