Food is of great quality, a hidden gem

Cold , people eating in coats , absolutely awful. Chef needs to move as this owner has no interest whatsoever in making customers welcome.

We decided to go to Lizzie Drakes for our lunch to celebrate our 20yr anniversary,as we have never eaten there before,despite living in the area. We had checked the reviews and all but one,were very promising. Some mentioned about the smoke from the open fireplace,and I must admit,at times it was smokey,but we found that this fitted in perfectly with the setting and it in no way annoyed us,in fact it was the complete opposite. I decided to have a starter and went for the soup of the day(vegetable) and it was absolutely delicious. Linda decided to opt for an omelette as her main,which was amazing. Our son had a burger,which he really enjoyed. I,myself opted for the sirloin steak and peppered sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce delicious. Desserts were to die for. As for the service we received, it was fast,pleasant and very very efficient. As a family we really enjoyed our experience at Lizzie Drakes and will most definitely be returning to enjoy more meals and support a locally run business

The food is excellent and the Mixed Grill is legendary. Big problems with the open fire in the middle of the bar. It's lovely when it's burning hot but when it is topped up with fuel it spews a lot of smoke out into the bar. Not very pleasant or healthy. Really needs to be sorted.

Food is unreal... nice and cosy atmosphere...

This is my second time at this pub , first time steak wasn't cooked right , sent it back to be sent another one , so we decided to give it a try again , not a good decision. First ordered duck rolls for starter , they brought them out and there was no duck. I asked the bar man who wasn't very helpful telling me he doesn't know while shrugging his shoulders . When I asked someone else they came back to tell me they were vegetable rolls , I asked for duck , he told me there was none 😐. So they decided to try and sell us Iceland vegetable rolls without us noticing. Then to the mains my steak was OK but my partners chicken was literally dry as a bone . Will definitely not be back. Customer service very poor , no one came near us to ask was it OK etc . Absolutely terrible service and food .

What a hidden gem this wee spot is,me&my partner went out for my birthday meal and drinks couldn't recommend a better place the food was beautiful and amazingly priced.

Can't recommend this place enough! Food is amazing service is excellent. Love the quirkiness of the building.

Arrived in to a very very busy Lizzy Drakes & the staff were fantastic managing the crowd.. food was amazing again.. many thanks for accommodating us on such a busy night. 5 Stars all round

The food is good, the steak was outstanding!!! I had the 12oz sirloin and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare!! Very tender and very tasty!! 10/10 👍👍👍👍

Took my partner out for a meal & the service was poor. I asked for my meal a certain way & was told no problems, but it seems the chief can't read and I ended up cancelling my meal whilst my partner ate hers. It seems the staff didn't care about it & I certainly won't be back nor recommend it to anyone else

Enjoyed a beautifully cooked steak meal at this venue, it came with roast potato, peas, onion ring, mushrooms and a really good Diane sauce; very reasonably priced also. Staff attentive and friendly. Due to large main portion we didn’t have room for dessert however we ordered Irish coffees which were lovely and arrived with mint creams ( haven’t seen that extra little touch for years). Will be back in the near future to this lovely old pub.

We went on a Sunday for dinner, it was a lovely wee old style pub with beams etc., the meal was first class and service was excellent. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Will return again soon.

great wee country pub but only 5 minute drive from Lisburn city . Food is fabulous , best steaks, huge portions and value for money for miles around. Very old fashioned decor but that adds to the character of this place. There is a small front bar and main lounge with open fires in both and another lounge at back which is opened for eating in busy periods. The staff are very polite and helpful and nothing is a bother to them. Can't wait to get back again soon !

Have been in a few times for lunch , great service, great food . Flabbergasted by the prices unbelievable value . This is an old pub with original style , it has a fireplace centralized in the main bar , that can sometimes put out allot of smoke ..but on ignition This neutralises within 20 minutes. But if like me food is your thought, your open minded, its giving exceptional value and customer service. My favourite place in lisburn .

If you can finish the mixed grill in Lizzie Drakes, you are a Titan. I have had it several times and it has to be seen to be believed. Good honest Ulster food, and plenty of it.

We arrived for my mums 78th birthday and from the moment we walked through the door, we were geeted by extremely friendly attentive staff. The food at Lizzy Drakes is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. The quality and the amount you get is phenomenal. Staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The ambience is typical of a century old pub and the coal fire 🔥 is soooo welcoming. Once again I booked which they say they don’t take , went to take my father for his birthday dinner and when I went to restaurant ,the so called owner of the restaurant says they don’t take booking and there was 10 people round the bar waiting to be for a table for food , the hole attitude from the so called owner was unbelievable and cheeky I will never be bk again and as for my father who would eat twice a month there will never be bk again after tonight , unbelievable

We walked in for dinner got a table right away , service was very efficient friendly and attentive. Our food was incredible ! The steak the best ever and the prawn cocktail was a real winner !! Excellent guinness ! The pub so cosy great decor old fashioned love the wooden beams etc ...the way it should be ...a great place to relax and chill out !!

Lovely friendly atmosphere good craic...

A nice public house the. Food could be better we had a Fillet steak 10oz and my wife had a sirloin it was full of sinew and could not even cut through it my Fillet had sinew as well not worth £ 24. WON'T BE BACK.

The garlic potatoes are the best to exist fight me on this. They are not on the menu anymore but ask for them. Also the staff are very nice.

Good food for not too much money. Just make sure to bring cash.

Somewhere that you might not think of going to but 6 of us went last Sunday and had the best steaks. Very cosy bar and food great value

Lovely wee bar and restaurant the 12oz steaks are monsters and so juicy and the mixed grill is a challenge on its own would highly recommend this place for food and drinks great staff

Food amazing and friendly staff

Fantastic little pub, I didn't pre-book so got the reviewed back room for a meal. I've learnt now tho that it's essential to book to be in the warmth of the front bar. That aside the service was good and the food was superb, a proper steak house. I'll be booking next time and staying for a few pints.

Loved stopping in at the local pub, cozy atmosphere and the food was excellent! Next time I’m visiting Northern Ireland I will definitely be stopping by again!

Mixed grill is some size. Quick service and polite staff.

Food was great we were put in a back lounge with no atmosphere and the staff were few and far to be seen open the bar in the back lounge and at a bit of background music and it would be a lot better

My first time in Drakes. Loved the old fashioned feel. Low wooden beams. Especially liked the open fire. A class touch on a very cold day. Got a table by the fire. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food was delivered quickly and it was great. Very tasty. Everyone else remarked that their choice was just as good. we were not rushed off table. No loud music in background so we could all talk to each other while eating. Definitely will be going back.

Lovely meal and service was great will be back

Went at Sunday lunch time for a steak, quite disappointed that despite the menu calling the place a steakhouse there was only one 6oz steak on the menu. The waitress did say the chef would do us bigger ones though which he did. They were excellent, as were the onion rings and mushroom. The fact that they served frozen chips with such a good steak is a real shame.

Staff very kindly fitted us in last minute ...Great food, portions ,friendly staff....only thing my mother pointed out was the waitress had long ponytail but had teatowel over her shoulder...hair touching it...,then she was lifting hot plates!!! I agreed it wasn't very hygenic ...maybe tuck cloth in apron or even belt....

My husband and I decided to come here for dinner a few nights ago as we love the steaks here and hadn’t been since before lockdown. We ordered the 12oz Sirloin steak each asking them to be cooked medium but both came out well done...

What can I say, Lizzie Drakes food is consistently brilliant, I had a fillet steak and probably the tastiest I’ve had in a very longer time, it was huge and only £20, not sure where you would get a better one for the price and...

Love going here as a treat for birthdays and special occasions. Brilliant atmosphere and nothing nicer in winter time sitting by the fire. Probably the best pint of Guinness in the lisburn area in my opinion and the food is lovely really good portions. Staff are friendly and polite, just remember to bring cash as they don't accept card payment.
