We had a huge table for my mums 80th...amazing service and great staff...thank you ,we loved it ❤️

Food is consistently good. Always nice wee buzz about the place and beer garden for when the sun is out.

I have to say I have enjoyed a couple of meals here. I think the food is well cooked and presentation is good. Do I think it's fantastic? No. Do I think the standard/ quality warrants the price? No. Do I understand the rave reviews? No. Don't get me wrong the food is fine, it's just not delivering everything it should for the price. If you haven't tried it, give it a go, you may love it.

Walked in for late lunch Seated straight away. Service was great. Had the beef burger and my wife had the Woodfire pizza special. Burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. So juicy and tasty. Great spot to stop into.

Pizza is very good they have a tendency to over charge for extras though and the beer selection is poor.

My wife and I had a fantastic Valentines dinner at Parsons Nose last night. Both the food and waiting service was outstanding which made for a really enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this pub/restaurant and will be back Des McCready

Lovely place! We have been there loads of times for a quick lunch after walking around Hillsborough forest but first time there for dinner. The food was gorgeous, small enough plates that you could have all three courses without feeling like you're going to burst but still being full. I was amazed how quickly the food was brought out as well!

Went here with my partner in December and the food is gorgeous, nice people and cosy atmosphere. Can’t wait to return in May 😍

This place is relaxed and such a warm welcoming feel. The fire at the front bar end and the back restaurant end really makes it. Best bit, they allow dogs. We always ring ahead though to double check. Their fish and chips are the best around and at a pretty reasonable price.

Went there for a Christmas lunch with business colleagues. This is a lovely pub and restaurant located in the middle of beautiful Hillsborough. The menu offered a great selection for everyone and service was very helpful and pleasant. Food was very good considering it was a very busy time on Christmas week, so that was excellent, and everyone was well pleased with the lunch.

Had turkey dinner yesterday. Very poor. The roast potatoes were really hard on the outside as if they had been under a heater too long, they were inedible! The Turkey roulade was dry & there was no gravy on the side. The sprouts were over cooked. I will not be returning. PS The young fair haired waiter was very pleasant & welcoming.

Very basic Christmas Lunch asked for extra gravy but was not made aware about extra cost on my bill Queried at till when I was paying seemed to be ignored changing the subject So not a Happy Customer on a positive note Fire was really nice & cosy

This is a bit more than a gastroput to be fair.....I've eaten here a few times and the lunch we had yesterday was a culinary feast! Pizza is always above par, the venison burger was amazing even the 'chips' were really done a dis-service by calling them chipsl! Desert of dark chocolate with peanut and Morello cherries was really sublime... well worth the drive out of our way just to eat here!! Thank you!

I would consider this to be Hillsborough's best restaurant, great setup, good atmosphere, and great food

Service was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was fresh, cooked perfectly and delicious. Prices were average for this standard of eatery, will definitely be returning! Since leaving this review I tried booking a gift voucher for a friend's birthday. Ordered online two weeks in advance, voucher arrived 3 days too late. I phoned restaurant several times, staff were unhelpful making rediculous excuses for the delay - resulted in cancelling voucher and going elsewhere. Very disappointing Parsons Nose!

Absolutely fantastic lunch today in friendly and cosy surroundings. Food was excellent and good portions, service was great, attentive and friendly but not OTT. Very enjoyable and thanks to Tabi and Orlaith for looking after us.

Called in for some lunch on my break from working hoping for good food and quick service and I wasn’t disappointed. Pizza, wings, fries, 2 desserts and 2 coffees all done in 50 mins. The food was really good and the service from our waiter was excellent. Would recommend.

We found this place by chance when we were going through Hillsborough. The food is amazing, cosy big fire and the staff are lovely. We will definitely be back!

Excellent gastro pub restaurant. The service was very good and quick. The food was delicious. The beef and vegetables were perfect. Maybe more vegan and gluten free options would be good.

We had soft drink and I thought they was expensive for the small 200ml Coke and Fanta £3 odd. Also roast dinner came with one sprig of broccoli and one sprig of cauliflower like rations. One roast potato I was quite sad about for the price too. So unfortunately I don’t think it’s great value for the money.

Had the roast beef which was very good but the baked cheesecake was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly & the interiors are uniquely old fashioned in a peasant way. Will be back again.

Very busy at our time of arrival noise was at a high! level which didn't quite suit the elderly people i was entertaining, service was somewhat rushed would like to turn on a date when the place was less crowded and then perhaps l could rendera more complete appraisal

Absolutely amazing service and food. Highly recommend the vegetarian chestnut & pumpkin roast, with all the trimmings! We will definitely be back with all the family. Thank you to our particularly lovely & charismatic waiter who paid great attention to detail.

We stumbled upon this pub on the way from giants causeway to Dublin Airport. We popped in for an early tea (dinner). I had the fennel sausage pasta and then a sticky toffee pudding. I was blown away both courses were just amazing!! The waiters were so friendly and lovely and the inside had a great vibe. Would 100% recommend!

What a perfect afternoon spent in Hillsborough celebrating my birthday. The service was excellent, couldn’t fault a thing and the food was delicious! All staff were very accommodating as we had two prams and we weren’t made to feel like a nuisance. Our waitress Holly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special

Whole plaice perfectly cooked. Fish cake excellent. All delicious. Minimum wine volume 175mls -smaller glass should be available. Please don't encourage customers to drink more than they want. Think about it.

Love everything about this place. Couldn’t resist the Sunday roast beef - and was not disappointed! We had to ask for some extra gravy but the roast was all round excellent! Sticky toffee was also up there with the best!

Lovely place to eat, well located in Hillsborough with parking available on street not too far away. Excellent food and service, tried to goats cheese curd starter and the duck main, both fantastic as well as reasonably priced.

The manager is not helpful and I saw how he treats his employees terrible

Great place to eat. Very nice staff. Nice dinner and very fresh weatonbread and guys, you still can eat it after 4 days. The crust isnt, fresh but the inside is good. We dindt had a nicer Weaton bread in noorden Ireland or Ireland.

Poor lunch today. Ordered pizza which we were barely able to cut with the pizza cutter. It was v lukewarm and had v little filling. Then ordered a cappuccino which came in an espresso cup. Altogether v disappointing!

I have been to the Parson's Nose for many years but the meal I had recently was one of the best. All three courses were superb, all dishes went back cleared, compliments to the chef. Service was quick and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly

UNIMPRESSED!! We had a dinner one night, this place is dirty. Too many flies! Food wasn’t good at all. Potato is very hard we can’t even chew it, chicken is too dry and fish cake is bland. Dessert is too big!

Over priced and short of filling ingredients, so dry most of base had to be left on plate. Filling was really tasty which i enjoyed but left all of excess inedible base crust and then had toget a small all carry out to complete MY HUNGER.

A mixed evening here. I ordered the pork belly and it was incredible!! However, my grandfather (who was there to celebrate his 80th) had to return his steak twice because despite him asking for it to be cooked medium they brought out a very rare steak twice! They did make it up to us by making his steak free and giving the drinkers of the table a free Irish coffee.

Food was ok , but not in the top 15 gastro pubs in the U.K . Was seated in the lounge directly facing the bar , couldn't help but hear a barman and a server at one another , to be more accurate the head barman having a go at him . Guys people go out not to listen to employee issues , very off putting . The bill was also over charged by £8 and the side order of chips didn't arrive with the main and when they did arrive after being asked for some were hard . Definitely will not be back . CYE !

Food and service amazing ! Cocktails good too. The spicy prawn pizza was delish tho could’ve been spicier. My family had the lamb, wings, plaice, chowder and kids burger and absolutely everything was divine. Wholely recommend!

Very disappointing and frightening experience here last Saturday night. There was a large piece of gravel in my meal, which nearly broke my teeth and/or could have been swallowed. As other people have commented the staff were very blasé and had little concern and constantly tried to pass the buck onto the supplier. No apology initially or attempt to rectify and charged me for the meal! Apology only came when I highlighted the gravity of the incident to the manager. There were 10 of us and we are all horrified by what happened in this reputable restaurant., Have never had such a poor experience in a restaurant Update in response to reply from owner-Thank you for replying. It is interesting that you say that I am misrepresenting the situation when you were not there yourself and may not have an accurate picture. My review is honest, completely accurate and fair. I haven’t felt compelled to write a review like this about a restaurant before either. It is astonishing that the blame appears to be deflected onto me now. The one thing that it is correct to clarify is that I did not pay for the meal in the end. Because I refused to pay! The meal was charged on the bill as I stated accurately and this was why the situation escalated. I will also point out that I had to seek out the manager, and when he was challenged about why he had not done anything he told me to name what I wanted. I explained that the entire party’s evening had been spoiled because of the incident and how it had been handled and therefore a compensatory meal if possible would be an appropriate gesture. He said no, as you have also said even though the cost of the meal for our party was only £300 in total and would have been much less cost to yourselves. The point of this incident is not about free food though, it is about the bizarre and dismissive way the situation has been handled. This was an upsetting and traumatic experience which you don’t seem to want to acknowledge or take responsibility for and appear to want to diminish and point blame at anyone but yourselves. You are perfectly at liberty to do that but please do not claim that I have misrepresented the situation. As I pointed out to you already, one of the group also had a similar experience there with a piece of electrical eqpt in the meal! I don't see how I am holding the venue to ransom when It is pretty standard to expect a restaurant to compensate adequately for a bad experience. Telling people if you have a good or bad experience somewhere is normal practice also which is why sites like this exist and in your email you said that you welcome genuine reviews which although you may not like it, this is. As you note I will not be visiting the restaurant again but I am sure other customers will have a better experience than mine

The toilet required you to climb up 3 sets of stairs. No choice of non-alcohol ales or lagers
