The Galley

Carnlough, Larne
16/10/2019: We stayed at Carnlough Harbour a day and ate dinner here. The fish was fresh and coffee good . It's located right across the harbour.
24/09/2019: Amazing Fish Suppers in this very busy carryout. Freshly battered cod is amazing and absolutely delicious. Ask for a family chip which is a huge bag of delicious chunky chips for £5. Very busy most evenings so best to phone in your order ahead of time and then just pick it up to avoid a long wait in the queue, which can be out the door at peak times, like on weekend nights. When the weather is good we sit on the benches along the harbour wall to eat out fish suppers so that we can enjoy the view of the Irish Sea and Antrim plateau vista. We regularly drive over to Carnlough from Broughshane for to enjoy their fish suppers. Highly recommended.

The Boatyard Coffee Shop Coleraine

Dundooan, Coleraine
02/11/2019: Called today for lite lunch . Asked for gluten free menu and was excited to see options. However when I order two different options from menu I was told neither was available. I found this rather frustrating. I was asked was I displeased I explained that both options was unavailable and was told how they had run out . I found the man to be quite sarcastic and intimidating and as a gesture he gave the tea and my family member meal’s free this was a nice gesture but it would have been better to have the choices on the menu available or at least tell you when you get menu if options are available rather than go through the order procedure twice !!! I won’t be returning so if your gluten free check before going would be my advice
20/09/2019: Everything that we had to eat was exceptional. The effort and attention to detail was evident in every dish. You won’t be disappointed. You should eat here.

A waitress called Sarah looked after us and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our meal was lovely. The chilli chicken pasta was delicious and the chicken gougons were really tasty. Harbour bar

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
11/11/2019: So there is hardly a better place anywhere to order and enjoy a hot Bush. After a 70 mile journey I placed the order at the bar and was handed a measure of Bushmills and a separate glass of hot water??? I asked the bar man could I have a proper one ie water and whiskey in the same glass with sugar, lemon slice and cloves. He took the Bushmills away and brought it back and the only difference was he had dropped a wedge of lime into it, he muttered something about not knowing anything about cloves. How can this even be possible in the Harbour Bar?
11/11/2019: A brilliant visit last week topped off by Willies wonderful hosting. We will see you for the 6 nations!! Great craic by the fire meeting old friends and new, while the boys propped up the front bar. As good as we expect it to be!!

Upstairs @ Joe's

Glenaan, Moyle
18/10/2019: What a great find on a wet cold Friday afternoon in October. The food was excellent, fresh full of flavour and well presented. I’m as fussy as they come but this scored 11/10 in my book. I couldn’t fault it at all. I have some dietary requirements and they were easily met and I was also offered alternatives
12/10/2019: We ate here on our second evening in Cushendall. It’s a pleasant upstairs dining room and we enjoyed the scampi and chips. Too much garlic in the tartar sauce for my liking. The apple crumble with custard and ice cream was to die for. Good service and pleasant waitresses.

The French Rooms

Bushmills, Moyle, 20-30£
06/11/2019: Popped myself into The a French Rooms today for lunch. I was on my own & felt very comfortable, it was a cold day & I was given the choice of a table by the fire - which I took, very cosy. I had a lovely lunch - don’t ever pass by the Joclyn soup - great, friendly service.
05/11/2019: Beautiful surroundings. Excellent food. Staff are very well trained and very pleasant. Great wee restaurant.

Rafters & Friels Bar

Swatragh, Magherafelt
29/11/2019: Me and friends visited this place on 23rd November for dinner. It was really lovely place. One of the things that made place even better was fireplace. Food was really good.
27/10/2019: First time to Ireland, visiting from California. Had the pleasure to hear Bruno sing many American songs and raise it to the next level with a few of his native Italian songs sung in Opera. The Irish were so kind and made us feel amazingly comfortable. The employees were charming, atmosphere was delightful and wish I lived in Swatragh!! Pub photo was a highlight! ❤️

The Anchor Bar Complex

Portstewart, Coleraine
23/11/2019: We are both gluten free and we had a lovely meal, service was good and the staff were must helpfully, I loved the steak
06/11/2019: Recently visited the restaurant/ bar for something to eat and a drink. The food was lovely, the anchor burger was amazing and the chips and gravy were lovely too. Pins are reasonably priced and the staff were super friendly. Haven’t stayed in the hotel but would definitely consider it after this all round pleasant experience.
