I find it a bit ridiculous that this small cafe is rated #1. Yes it’s fine and food is nice but we were made to feel like the gentleman was doing us a favour giving us a table when we hadn’t booked , but really it’s just because the place is so small. Very pretentious for what it is and loves blowing his own trumpet. Didn’t feel relaxed at all.

Hadn’t been here for a while, and I CAN’T understand why…??!!! The food is freshly made and so flavoursome. Such a tempting menu..it’s difficult to decide, but I dare say it’s all scrumptious. Nowhere else in Coleraine has a menu like this…. Well done to David and Lorna xx

We always enjoy our lunch here, the mix of the very friendly welcome and excellent service combined with delicious food and the laidback surroundings all makes a most delightful experience.

A hidden gem just outside Coleraine, well worth a visit. Very different menu, we were a bit early for lunch unfortunately so shared a lemon and raspberry frangipan tart, it arrived with a little dish of custard and another of cream. Delicious coffee too. Sat outside in the sunshine and David looked after us very well, we will definitely be back to avail of the extensive lunch menu.

This Hidden Gem on the North Coast is well worth a visit.. David and Lorna are top of their game ìn terms of hospitality always making you feel most welcome.The menu has lots of delicious choices ,different to the Menus in many other establishments and the food is always of an exceptionally high standard. If visiting on a Friday or Saturday, the homemade Lemon Meringue Pie is a must to try. Overall, excellent value for money and booking is highly recommended.

Booked at last minute so only us in the cafe but atmosphere was fine.Staff very friendly especially the owner chatted away to us. The young lady who served us was just lovely. I had the parsnip and peanut soap which was delicious. The rest of my party thoroughly enjoyed their food especially the dessert.

Visited yesterday with our car club and it definitely didn't disappoint. Lovely venue, a very friendly team, great range of menu choices and top quality food. Will definitely be back! 👌🏼

Lovely little cafe with extra seating outside. Food is outstanding way above any other coffee shop on the north coast. All fresh and exceptionally tasty. Galaxy chocolate cake with chocolate sauce simply Devine. Looking forward to many more trips need to work my way through all the deserts. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff and a great atmosphere.

Fabulous service , excellent coffee and the Yummy Muffin with perfectly poached eggs and bacon was a joy to eat. highly recommend !!

One of few cafés open this time of year, but it's popularity was reflected by how busy it was. Although dogs aren't allowed Inside, I was offered outdoor undercover seating with a cushion, so can't complain. Food was incredibly tasty and service was above and beyond and very professional. Locals and owners were very chatty to which is always nice. Picked up some really dry firewood at the same time from the log man too... Win win. Thanks

Main courses superb one of the nicest meals we have had anywhere followed by the best ever Apple pie the passion for excellence by the owners is very evident, will return soon and thank you!

My wife and I had a phenomenal experience today for a late lunch. Brilliant welcome from David, made feel very welcome throughout. Food spectacular, great flavour and presentation. A hidden gem, brilliant homely experience, look forward to returning.

Went for lunch with two friends. Had tasty tomato and red pepper soup followed by amazing lemon cake with hot lemon sauce. Everything was super fresh and there were GF options for me. It's small inside so I recommend booking, there are tables outside too with a patio heater.

A beautiful little coffee shop with lovely food ,great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The raspberry and white chocolate scones are homemade, delicious and would melt in your mouth. I would highly recommend a visit here.

We have experienced many high end coffee shops and restaurants throughout the UK, Europe and further afield. This place is fantastic and one of the best for great coffee and fresh food we have experienced. The staff were amazing in particular Lorna in the Kitchen area and David who made us feel very welcome as soon as we walked in.

Had lunch here today...1st time ever in it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the menu has plenty of options. We both had specials and the food was amazing!! Such a homely wee spot and we will definitely be back again.. highly recommend this wee place!!

I stumbled across this wee coffee shop this morning - what a delight!! Great food in a lovely, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. A great range of meals, well priced, and clearly loved by the locals: it was quite busy. The cream of mushroom soup I had was delicious; the beef khobze (??) was excellent - I'm just sad I had no room for a sweet! I'll definitely be back.

Dropped in for breakfast while on vacation to the area based on reviews - both online and word of mouth. We were not disappointed. The Ulster fry is perhaps one of the healthiest and tastiest we have had, the service was friendly and efficient, and the owner was very personable. Look forward to returning on our next visit.

Love this place, always busy but have always managed to get a seat . . . Food is fab expect to be surprised . . . A little outta the way but a little outta the ordinary . . . Not your basic sandwich not your plain choc cake !

Lovely wee place with nice home baked products and good friendly helpful service

Called today for lite lunch . Asked for gluten free menu and was excited to see options. However when I order two different options from menu I was told neither was available. I found this rather frustrating. I was asked was I displeased I explained that both options was unavailable and was told how they had run out . I found the man to be quite sarcastic and intimidating and as a gesture he gave the tea and my family member meal’s free this was a nice gesture but it would have been better to have the choices on the menu available or at least tell you when you get menu if options are available rather than go through the order procedure twice !!! I won’t be returning so if your gluten free check before going would be my advice

Everything that we had to eat was exceptional. The effort and attention to detail was evident in every dish. You won’t be disappointed. You should eat here.

We regularly visit the Boatyard for breakfast or lunch. The food is excellent quality and consistently delicious. David and Lorna are always so welcoming, and the staff are always super kind and very accommodating! Cake and sweet treats must be sampled!

Might suit some but the place was too small and pokey. Staff lovely, but I can not believe it is no.1 rated.

This is full of character for a small eatery. Went with friends and we enjoyed our tea and nibbles. My slice of chocolate cake was beautifully light and moist, the fresh cream making it truly indulgent.

Super tasty food and the staff is super friendly😉Th Strawberry Fizz is epic so is the Galaxy Cake with Chocolate syrpe. The scrambled eggs and the sausage... WOW! I am definitely coming here again😁

Found this place by good fortune when I noticed a van advertising it on the roadside. It is a little off the main road (probably 2-3 miles) but you are rewarded for your effort to get there. Plus the parking is plentiful. The menu was strong with a number of daily specials as well to consider. The food was of excellent quality and well presented. Coffee was also decent. The staff were very friendly as well. Made for a wonderful dining experience.

This little cafe/restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is excellent here. The location is quiet and you’ll never have a problem parking.

My parents took me along as an “undiscovered gem” I was really blown away by the food, the service and the price.

The host and his staff are first class. You are welcomed by the host and encouraged to feel at home. The waitresses are so helpful, explaining the menu and doing all they can to help you know what is on offer. We were there for cuppa and cake but the family were lured by the apple and toffee pie, lemon merangue pie, strawberry & lemonade cake and the raspberry & coconut tart. All of these got a massive thumbs up for taste and portion size. If you want a lunchtime meal here there is a wonderful range of food for everyone. This place is a hidden gem for food and making you feel at home. Well worth a visit.

Last time I posted a review for this place was 2013. Its definitely long overdue for an update.

On a wet and dreary day we had a warm and friendly welcome and after our relaxing time there, we left feeling that we had discovered another fantastic coffee stop with great food. We will certainly be recommending David and his team to our friends.

Have been going to Boatyard for years now. It’s the best cafe hands down in the area. Have never been disappointed with breakfast or lunch. Always a good selection on the menu with varied specials and delicious soups!

Just been once about August last year... found it very friendly, great service... clean and tidy premises. Small but cosy.... to me a bit on the pricey side but all considered food really nice. Worth a wee visit in my opinion, As not been unless once can't give a true valuation, but I will definitely be back shortly. Found it to be a friendly and relaxed wee place.

This place is just a hidden gem. Staff very polite and the food is just exceptional. Everything home made and very well presented on plate. Been here twice recently and can see it turning into my weekly treat. Well done to all the staff.

The Boatyard has the most delicious food all created daily by co-owner Lorna. My favourite is warm chorizo salad with potato. Menu caters for all tastes from sandwiches and fresh beautiful soups to flatbreads with tender beef all sourced from local small businesses num, num!!! Lorna creates the most gorgeous scones and patisserie along with sumptuous cakes and pies. David, other co-owner has a zeal for their coffee which is superb. He is great craic and enjoys making sure people really enjoy their stayt. What I admire most about them is they strive for excellence in all they do with this business. Well worth a call, located just outside Coleraine set back beside river and idyllic countryside the Boatyard is so well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Called in for brunch. Good choice of breakfast or lunch type meals on the menu. The food was great and the service really friendly. The price was very reasonable, similar in price to inferior food in other establishments.

We stopped here on our way to The Bushmills Inn for the night. Looked up trip advisor before leaving the house. It is in the countryside but worth checking out. As we were eating in the hotel that evening we both opted for toasted sandwich. I had chilli chicken and my husband had the beef and caramelised onion along with lovely coffee. Not many seats inside. A very popular spot. Would go back when in the art. Cheerful staff.

Another visit to one of my favourite coffee shops, for lunch one Saturday. We had our usual excellent first course then shared a slice of lemon meringue pie - well that is its official name, actually slice of heaven would be a more accurate term. It is truly delicious, accompanied by some of the excellent coffee. We will be back in the not too distant future.

About 2 weeks ago myself and my parents stopped here for our afternoon cuppa.where I had the galaxy cake with caramel sauce and ice cream which was nice and light.david the owner is so friendly and full of fun.

Just a couple Floridians on vacationand we loved The Boat Yard. We were met with a smile and great service. The Beef Wrap was very filling and delicious and the Raspberry, Lemon Tart was out of this world. We highly recommend The Boat Yard.

Called yesterday on our way through to Castlerock. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food selection is more than enough. The quality of the food was second to none. We will certainly be calling again. A place well worth a visit.

Called here for lunch after friends recommended we try it. We were not disappointed. The choice was fantastic, we went for the wraps and were very impressed. Flavours and presentation were first class, service was excellent. Hope to visit again soon.

Please take note, if you are with in 100 miles of the Boatyard Coffee Shop then you need to drop in. The food here was INCREDIBLE. I had an amazing beef wrap which comes combined with a soup and salad for less than 10 quid.

We arrived mid morning and were pleased to be able to choose a combination of treat style food for the children (who had and thoroughly enjoyed pancakes with bacon) along with a more substantial meal for adults (cooked breakfasts, muffins etc).

We had a delightful lunch which far exceeded expectations. There is a large car park and a short walk to the Coffee Shop. There is an outside area under a canopy for those that want to eat Al Fresco. The specials board revealed a choice of wraps, salads, etc. These were all explained to us by the helpful staff. Service was prompt throughout. We both chose wraps at £9.99 each which came with some Doritos-style crisps, a few leaves, a cup of soup and a lovely chutney. My wrap was roast beef with goats cheese. The combination of flavours was complemented by the soup. Worth a visit, if only to sample the different take on a lunchtime menu.

I live approximately 8 miles from this superb coffee shop and have been a regular visitor over the last five to six years. It has been in my list of best kept secrets. Today I called for lunch and as always was treated like the most important customer, very good for morale, however the excellent host David flitted from table to table making everyone feel just as special.

My wife & I returned to this delightful cafe and found it again surpassed the other eateries we visit around the north coast.during the meal we were served by two new staff members(later informed of this) who,although they seemed very young were very competent and prompt with a clear understanding of both our order and the availability of the meals on the menu( some were 'sold out' always a good sign we find!!) Not to turn this review in to 'war and peace' we found the cafe top notch in all aspects ie. The food. The service.and the ambience we definitely won't leave it so long before we return.

On arrival car parking is available next to the entrance, once inside you will be greeted by cheerful & friendly staff where a homely atmosphere is experienced. The choice of food is varied depending on your time of arrival, should it be breakfast, brunch or lunch.

I have eaten here many times and would highly recommend a visit to the Boatyard coffee shop. We stopped for some breakfast! A fabulous full boatyard breakfast was had by all together with a great cup of coffee and a pot of tea! Couldn’t not try one of their scones as all the locals seem to come in for them! Scones were nice and fresh and didn’t taste of baking powder! A first! Well done! The host, David, was very welcoming and friendly! We will definitely recommend this place to our friends! Thanks to David on his tip about the Giants Causeway....we saved ourselves £35! We called in for coffee but succumbed to temptation and had lunch. As always it was excellent, well filled sandwiches with a salad garnish. The staff are just so friendly and welcoming you feel you are having lunch with friends. Recommend that everyone takes a detour to sample this wonderful cafe.

Me and my girlfriend stopped in at this little cafe for breakfast and a coffee, we were greeted by the owner, David, a really friendly and welcoming host! I had the boatyard breakfast which was beautiful, my girlfriend had the porridge and mixed berries which she also really enjoyed. I had 2 flat whites, they were probably the best coffee I’ve ever tasted! We will definitely be back again! So friendly and homely, a great place to stop for a bite to eat and a coffee

Can't say anything about the food, as we only had coffee - but it was definitely the best coffee any of us have found on this island. And we do like our coffee, having lived in Australia for many years where coffee rules supreme. It was so good that we returned two days later for another coffee-drinking session.

Stopped here on our way to Galgorm, what a surprise, AMAZING FOOD, lovely friendly service, Owners so welcoming, will def come back if ever in the area again , A GREAT FIND ❤️

We called in here based on the Trip Advisor reviews and they are not wrong - superb find. Very intimate and friendly. The toasted sandwich and soup duo is excellent. Try the lemon meringue pie - wonderful

Lovely place with a friendly, relaxed service. All homemade food, great specials board and desserts are delicious.

Had a foodie friend from England staying for a day so we took a run up the coast and went to the Boatyard for lunch. As always the food was excellent. Two of us had the Swedish flatbreads with roast beef which you haven't tried you should and our friend had one of the daily special which she demolished at speed. I then tried the toffee and apple pie - the pastry was light and crisp and I enjoyed very bite. The coffee was a suitable finale to such a lovely meal. The service was friendly and efficient. This remains one of my favourite coffee shops and just have to find an excuse for another visit!!

If you want something a little bit different then this is the place to visit. Lovely food. Desserts are wonderful, cakes and pastry exceptional and lunch fantastic.

Discovered this gem quite by accident as we took a wrong turn. Talk about serendipity! We got there at lunchtime and the food was fresh, tasty and very reasonable. One gets the impression that it's regular for a particular set but we were treated to excellent service from the owner. Salads were fresh and flavoursome and the pudding was one of the best I have ever had (chocolate fudge cake). I look forward to my/our next visit!

The Boatyard Coffee Shop is quite off the beaten track, but wife and I were already in the locality for once and we decided to check it against the good reviews we had seen.

Great place to stop in at for lunch. Luckily it was sunny when we were here so was able to sit outside in the sun. The elderflower cordial is delightful!

My Wife and I found this place by accident on our way our for a drive on a rare day off work. Popped in and was delighted by the warm and welcoming service, the cute little Menu card and the good honest tasty grub I was presented. As the saying goes, sometimes the best days out are the ones you don't plan. This little place was on of those occasions.

Calked for a quick bite on the advice of a friend. Lovely quaint little place. Mum had quiche with salad and I had the homemade toffee and apple pie ... delicious .. very friendly staff .. well worth a visit ..

We looked at TripAdvisor to find somewhere to have morning coffee and also to see if it was suitable to bring a friend. The Boatyard Coffee shop was the first on the TripAdvisor list and rightly so. My wife had a white chocolate and raspberry scone and I had a fruit scone with butter and raspberry jam, both were delicious in fact better than the ones we had in England Scotland and Wales. In the immortal words "we shall return."

As visitors to the area we were looking for somewhere to bring a friend for coffee. We found it this morning, a small cafe with personality. Quite a comprehensive menu but we only wanted scones and they were lovely. My husband had a fruit scone and I had a white chocolate & raspberry one & it was laden with raspberries. Definitely a cafe to be visited again.

Visited on a lovely sunny day! They have a lovely area to sit outside. They have a varied menu and lots of specials on daily. If you visit pay a visit they have the cutest bathroom. Great little gem of a find. Food and service was great, we will be back.
