We stayed in Wetwang for a short break away and decided to try the local chippy. The best fish and chips I have tasted in years. Deep blue fry their chips in beef dripping, they are super tasty and not at all greasy. Fish cooked to order, good batter, very nice indeed. Highly recommended.

We visited Wendy’s prior to seeing Les Miserables at Sheffield Arena and we weren’t disappointed. I wanted to order something that wasn’t on the screen and the gentleman at the counter put our order through very quickly and he was friendly, polite and helpful. He then brought our food to the table rather than us having to collect it. Another gentleman, who we assumed was the manager, came to ask us if our food was ok and it definitely was. The burger was very tasty and both that and the chips were hot. We don’t normally eat in fast food restaurants but just wanted some hot food on a chilly evening and would recommend this Wendy’s restaurant.

A lovely relaxing place to have lunch during a day’s visit to Whitby on a wet Wednesday after a walk along the coast . One couldn’t help but feel very much at ease and relaxed in this Inn. The food, yes, you can always find better pub food with so much choice in Whitby but I rated this place because of its ambiance whilst enjoying home battered fish fingers and the fabulous sea views. I was made to feel very welcome by Kat and the team who were both friendly and efficient.

I received a very warm welcome, friendly service and lovely food. It can be daunting going into a pub as a woman on your own on a Friday evening, but they made me feel welcome and found me a quiet table where I could work on my laptop before moving on to my next thing- I had 2 hours to kill and I appreciated that they didn’t hassle me to move on. I found quite a few vegetarian dishes on the menu- I had the Brie and it was really nice.

My wife and myself have eaten here a fair few times. But never have been as wowwed as we were last night. The gentleman at front of house was impeccable. A credit to the pub. After surveying the specials menu we both decided that the shin of beef pie with champ mash and fresh veg sounded too good to be missed. We were not disappointed! We both said, quite possibly the best pub meal we have ever ever had! The beef was cooked perfectly, the short crust pastry was just incredible. My wife Lydia said it was just like her mum's. That's some credit to the chef! The champ mash was delicious and the veg cooked absolutely spot on. Not a second too long. Again, perfect! We were probably too full for dessert but we were never going to resist if the main was anything to go by. My wife chose the Eton mess. I've never seen anyone look so happy eating a dessert. It looked amazing and indeed it was. I chose the apple and blueberry crumble. Simple and delicious. Just how I like it. All washed down with two fine glasses of Primitivo. And all very reasonable too. Top marks to everyone at the pub. We most definitely will be back!
