The beef and ale pie was burnt and really hard to cut worst pie I have ever eaten ,the mixed grill was very good chicken really dry ,fizzy coke was flat got a replacement but that wasn't any better then the pudding syrup sponge didn't taste of anything was horrible left it worse experience I have had will not be going back waste of my money

We all had a carvery on our visit today. The food was all lovely and fresh. Generous portion of meat. Staff were all friendly & helpful. Top service *****

The Carvery is always lovely. Always spot on. Meat lean, everything is hot and staff helpful and friendly. Toilets clean.

Lovely staff who are always very friendly. Food was good as usual. Partner had the carvery which she said was really delicious and would’ve finished if her eyes weren’t too big for her stomach. Ultimate mixed grill was good. Tip: Be sure to remember which Coke has lemon and which has lime in it. Would’ve left cash tip if hadn’t forgotten to bring cash.

Staff are amazing and food excellent well worth a visit. Trinity went out of her way to help . Excellent service and pleasant to be there

Very lovely meal glad the carvery very generous with the meat and staff are very good and friendly, great environment and clean.

Carvery was excellent. Friendly and polite staff. No dirty tables. Staff cleared away dirty plates when everyone had finished eating. Lovely atmosphere, well worth the money. Definitely be back.

Another Brill Carvery Went in for a midweek Carvery. . Brill food and staff. table booked for next visit . Just remember to input your car reg as you go in but it's as easy as ABC .

We regular have food here food is always lovely, staff and the management not so great had staff rolling her eyes at us when said the cuppa tea was cold then had the manger walk off and say ‘I’m not intrested in listening to you’ which I thought was appalling took them 2.5 hours to collect plates and the glasses never got collected so when we went up for more drinks we got accused of giving a young lass on the table alcohol when the yeah of drinks was placed on the table. There was nowhere else to place the tray. VERY RUDE STAFF!

Lovely food, poor management! Accused me of giving my 16 year old daughter alcohol just because a drink was placed near her, the table was full of empty plates and glasses, wasn't much room to put anything down. Totally ruined the end of my dads birthday celebrations. When we spoke to the manager all she did was walk off. The food was amazing but won't be going back.

Came into the pub on sat night with 3 friends the pub was very busy but the staff were all very friendly and helpful . The lady that looked after us was called Megan and she couldn’t do enough for us she was so lovely . The food and service was fantastic and will deffo be visiting again

I enjoy evenings at Ashby Lodge with a group of friends. Adam the manager is always polite and welcoming. The whole atmosphere of the pub is relaxing. Adam & his staff do a brilliant job and I can't praise them enough for making our evening so enjoyable especially after a tiring working week.

Attend for work Xmas meal a couple of weeks or so ago. Have been for a carvery befirw and enjoyed it, so wasn't expecting any problems. However, service was very, very slow (short staffed maybe?) and my starter was cold. Those of us having a carvery were given tickets to take with to the carvery. There queue was long and slow though the food was generally fine offering mushy peas is just weird. Those not having a carvery didn't get their main until most of those that did, had already finished eating. Desert was OK. Overall it felt like they had bitten off more than they could chew. Income from customers far outweighing service and quality. I ahoumake it clear that the staff were great, there simply weren't enough of them.

Discussing service, had to wait 40 mins for desert, another 39 for coffee, carvery very mean, went for Christmas dinner, first time and the last. Nothing wrong with the staff.

Been here a few times when visiting family.We live in Durham and usually have lunch or dinner. Never disappointed with the carvery although the meat is cut very thin usually plenty for us.

The only place that my family is comfortable to eat,cozy and clean. The staff is very friendly and kind especially the Assistant Manager Karen Todkill. She is a big asset to the company I highly recommend the place. My 5 yrs old Autistic grandson is very happy every time she sees Karen. He even love to hug and kiss Karen.Since 1 day old we brought him to this place, Well done Karen Todkill you are a Star 🌟

The lady manager on was not taking any notice of the cue out of the door was too busy talking to staff! We ended up after over 5 mins of her not coming to the que going to her and she just pointed to the table didn't say anything. It was extremely rude! And then we made her aware of the que at the door and she said I will get to them when I am ready very sharply! And was frequently speaking to her staff awful. This behaviour is not exceptable and if we wasn't there to do the quiz we would have walked out and not give them any service.
