We had to wait at the bar to be served as there was only 1 person serving even though there was 2 stood behind the bar. We ordered a classic burger with no salad but extra cheese, it arrived with no cheese at all. There was a young man walking round the floor but not clearing any tables as 3 tables around us were empty but had not been cleared of the dirty plates and glasses. No one came to see if the food was all ok.

Called today for lunch our food was hot and delicious will definitely be back

Been here few times and tried different things. Always got a lot of people in and it has nice food, nice drinks.!! Plenty of seating even though they are always reserved when there not actually reserved.!! Tried other meals before and very nice .. but last Saturday Myself and And son had chicken tikka was very nice. Chips very small portions and looked and tasted old and been refried several times and My partner had the pie. Wasn't to good pie rock hard and got a borrrower size mash portion. But overall nice. Will be back just maybe not for a pie.

Our local pub and we call in often for a drink and sometimes for food. Food ok but nothing to shout about. One thing I regularly notice is that empty glasses and dirty plates are left on tables. Staff deliver food and walk past without clearing these. Sometimes staff stood chatting to each other rather than cleaning up.

First visit it was absolutely lovely to see the manager Andy as I’ve worked with him before such an amazing experience to see a nice pub. Food was 10/10 and trying a new pudding was gorgeous I am pleased with everything will be back again

I came in with my family and got seated by the fire, it was nice and lovely. The atmosphere was amazing and we enjoyed it alot. The food was amazing and came out to us quickly even though it was pretty busy, the staff were also amazing towards us. An overall good pub to go to.

Really lovely time with some friends. Despite it being cold outside the staff and atmosphere made it feel warm. Definitely coming again soon.

We hadn't been to for Eden Arms for many years, but we decided to try their food as they had a 50% off promotion. I was very disappointed with the standard of food. In fact, I would go as far as to say it's one of the worst meals I had eaten out. The food was barely warm, and chips were dry as though they had been left stood for a while. Bread served was stale ! Very disappointed 😞 the pub itself has a nice atmosphere and the open fires are a nice touch if you're not sitting near one, prepare to be chilly. Overall, I would probably go for an overpriced drink as a one off but can't say that I would ever eat there again.

The staff here are lovely and attentive, they are truly an asset to this pub. The pub looks so much better after the refurbishment too.

Great pub really impressed with staff and food

Went in with my family and the food was excellent, we all got a mixed grill and everything was cooked brilliantly, the service was top tier. The atmosphere was a nice feeling, we sat by the fire and it was nice and warm. Will definitely be coming again soon!

Didn't take any photos but went with sister and brother in law. The food was really good and we had the main and dessert offer. Was easy to book a table online and pay online. Will certainly be returning.

Came for a meal and drinks 29/12, service was slow for food which was confusing as pub grub is generally microwaved pre made food and the pub hardly had anybody in. The price is also confusing as I can probably get the same food at Whetherspoons for a lower price and not have to wait an hour for it. Wanted to order fish but after ordering we were told that they didn’t have fish on Sundays yet the table next to us had fish?

Fantastic afternoon at the Eden Arms. There were 21 of us in total, (we had pre ordered) & the service was fantastic. The food was lovely, all served in time, staff are very friendly & most accommodating. A fab local!

Here for Christmas Dinner. Arrived at just after 2 for a half 2 booking. We were seated in a quiet area. 2 other tables arrived after us and had their drinks order taken as soon as they were seated. Their starters came out before anyone came and took our drinks order. Waited over an hour for starters. Daughters Prawn and salmon cocktail had no salmon. Waited almost another hour for mains. Cold food. Sister did not get a slice of meat and had to send her meal back. Roast potatoes were tinned and white never been roasted. Pigs in blankets also white very undercooked. Had to ask for clean cutlery. Overall extremely disappointing for a Christmas dinner which we were charged handsomely for. Total of £500 for the whole table. Spoke to manager and got a refund of a third of the cost of the total table spend.

Went with the wife and a few friends on a spur of the moment dinner, the food and service was fantastic. Ashlee couldn’t do enough for us and the new manager was fantastic and even made time to come over for a chat. We will be definitely going back soon

Having had a great experience last year on Xmas day we paid deposits for this year, due to family circumstances we had to cancel with the full understanding that the deposit was non refundable. Eden Arms got in touch with us and said , come and have something to eat and we will use your deposit as credit ! That alone was great service. My wife and i went on Sunday for the Sunday lunch , and it was really good. The service was excellent , the staff were very polite without being over the top , the food was lovely , we were really impressed. Well done to everyone there , we will be back ! Gary n Sue.

Been out for a meal tonight with my mum. I was served at the bar by charly and georgina who were very friendly and welcoming. I had spicy chicken burger and my mum had hunters schnitzel which was 10/10 which was served by hannah and mollie who were helpful and they did a check back which was great!!!

Focused mainly on food, you can wait a LONG time to be served if they have offers on - which they do most weekdays

I’ve been couple of times and highly recommend the staff are lovely and the food is really great quality food and it’s cheap and get a lot for your meal I had a pudding today and delicious and my server Brooke was very welcoming and did check back on food which I thought was great

This place has very good food but we asked for a bigger meal but they gave the wrong meal last year it was very good but this year has not been so good the staff are very nice just they didn’t meet our requests

Had a funeral wake held at the Eden arms and it was absolutely amazing! They made us feel welcome and the food was lovely! It all tasted fresh and the presentation was incredible

Once again a lovely meal with the grandchildren, staff so friendly, meal lovely, my grandchildren all ways ask to go here for their treat after school.

I love the quiz nights but for some reason the volume is painfully loud. I value my hearing and so dud my friends. We would only attend again if the volume was lower.

This is the second time the fool was awful. We thought last time might have been a one off. So gave it another chance. Waited ages for food. To arrive wrong. When I told the waitress it was wrong she made me feel like I was in the wrong. Ran out of something that should had been on the kids plates to be told we could have 1 free drink to compensate. The vegetables and potatoes were disgusting. No flavour at all. I hardly eat meat and this was the only think that was edible. After paying nearly £100 we expected a lot more. We used to go in quiet regular. This will be the last time I will be taking my family to eat here. Very disappointed.

Came for a festive meal with my parents on the 29th November it was absolutely amazing. Warm friendly greeting, the table was beautifully set. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. I have been to Eden arms many times, and it has always been ok/ bang average. I went today with my family and it seems to have improved loads! After speaking to some regulars, it seems they have had new management and a new menu. Standards have definitely improved and food was great. I will be going more often.

The staff were friendly and doing their best. The place itself is really nice now after being done up also it is clean. The bad part is we come here for a drink after food shop every week it’s just a way to make a chore more pleasant something to look forward to we hadn’t tried the food we thought we would when it is 50% off I didn’t expect anything fantastic and I did expect it to be busy however usually there’s three people behind the bar on the busy offer night there was one person… warned a one hr wait for food that is fine I knew it would be busy and thank you for letting us know, BUT my food finally came and tbh I didn’t eat it I’m not fussy but the chips were cold and half cooked the Cajun on top had a skin, the chicken skewer was rock hard charcoal chicken that poor chicken died to be eaten only to be cooked for soooo long it was served as charcoal any more pressure on the staff and there might have been a diamond inside, my husbands steak tbf was okay it was overcooked but edible so we shared that with some salad off my Plate I would not come back and pay full price for those meals you get people in on these deals it’s to showcase your food and I’m sorry but honestly the evening cost me two hours of me being at work for inedible food, the reason….. it’s not that your staff don’t care they were clearly trying their best it’s because you management! rubbin your hands at your promotion haven’t staffed the place appropriately for the uptake of the offer you put on all you did with this sorry thing is put me off I’ll likely go to the place I like on the way home for my after shop beer aswell now to be honest as they always serve a gd meal even when busy if we fancy it, if you will put on something like that be prepared to serve your customers well disappointed it could have at least been edible.!

Greeted with a warm and friendly hello from staff, very polite and told us about the complimentary drink offer. Had a lovely simple and cheap meal which was what we went in for, there were loads of other options on the menu but very calorific, I’m on a calorie controlled diet so would’ve liked more low calorie options but I was more than happy with the tomato and basil soup with a slice of ciabatta at only 256 calories. Love how they have the calorie information on the menu by the way. My husband had ham, eggs and chips and the portion size was very good. Always love the atmosphere in this pub

Visited the Eden Arms with a group ranging from 3-80. Everyone enjoyed their food especially the beef roast. Dining area we a little chilly so lost a star

Sat by the fire and it was lovely. The service was excellent, especially from the young red headed lad. He recommended the mixed grill and it was lovely, chips were hot and the steak was cooked perfectly!

Came in for a wake, which we had the silver buffet and was brilliant. Couldn’t fault Laura at all, fabulous service! Would definitely recommend

Family of 5 dropped in to take advantage of the 'kids eat for £1' deal. Service was quick, portions were very decent and food was above average for pub grub.

Quite at the time of visit and food tandoori skewers served cold...peas cold and chips undercooked so not great really..pint was nice however.

Great food, but it took far too long to come out about 45 mins and then 30 mins for dessert

Great local pub with fabulous staff. Agree food could be better but get this is the standard set by the chain.

Only things wrong with this hole are the poor staff especially the munter with no neck. The ping meals are like eating elastic bands. service is very poor. If you need to powder your nose its freely available.. Lately we have been going to the Glasshouse. if you had to give them marks compaired to each other the glasshouse be 9/10 the eden arms would be struggling to get a 1/10 but there is a subway down the road. We used to spend a fortune in here but no neck has helped us save a fortune

Bar staff are always lovely. The young girl who brought out dinner was really nice, I think she’s fairly new. Food was fab. First time I’ve eaten here for a few years. We do visit for drinks weekly. Such a lovely environment particularly now it’s been refurbished.

Had a gin and tonic. The tonic now comes out of a pump. It's flat and stale. Food - ordered pie and mash and got pie and chips. The pie was actually rather nice. Would I recommend? No.

I was a little concerned reading some recent reviews however this is my go to place when visiting Doncaster and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. Visited on Wednesday. Tables were clean as was the cutlery . We were asked about allergies. Husband doesn't have any however he does have particularly likes and dislikes where food is concerned and these were duly noted. Food was lovely hot and tasty. I had the sausage and mash and hubby had scampi. The wait time wasn't to long . Staff were friendly and polite and we did get a check back to see if everything was ok. The refurbishment looks lovely and I will definitely return

Had a lovely meal with our grandchildren, they really enjoyed the tomato pasta and garlic bread. The Gobi dhanska curry was very nice and fish & chips lovely. It was busy but service was very efficient.

Nice refurb, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff & food was good although they only had 1 of the meals we chose. Had a starter instead. The coffee & mini puds were great.

Really disappointed, one of our group of 6 was a vegan so went because of the vegan menu, we picked out what we wanted in advance, however the menu was reduced as it was a Sunday. I wish we'd left but we didn't. Vegan curry I was told was was quite nice. 4 of us had a roast, which was disappointing. Frozen roast potatoes, dry rib of beef, no mashed potatoes, and a small portion of veg, not sure why a menu needs to be reduced to serve up frozen roast potatoes. We all left a lot of the roast, won't go there again. I would have disputed the bill if I hadn't paid in advance, but couldn't be bothered with the hassle. The food is reasonably priced but frozen food really!!, why ?

We were visiting relatives; as were out of town and went for a meal there last night. The food was excellent 5 ***** I had the shepherds pie; which was out of this world as it had meat pieces instead of mince. It was very tasty with cheesy mash on top. The cheese was just how I like it, baked on top, which was yummy. My Daughter had the Chicken burger and chips and she ate it all. Tony had the sausage and mash. He said it was very nice and ate it all. We ordered a couple of sides, which we really didn’t need because the portion sizes were great. I couldn’t eat all mine, so Tony finished mine off. Then we finished it off by sharing a brownie, which was also very nice. The food presentation was excellent. Would defo be visiting again. Service was great, food was excellent. Compliments to the chef/s who made, cooked the food and to the kitchen team. Also love the decor. Highly recommend. My only regret is that, I didn’t take any photos of the excellent food. xxx

Visited here twice within the past month (since the refurb). Live local so would be great to find somewhere consistently good for food to visit regularly. First time we visited on a busy Wednesday night. Hadn’t realised it was quiz night (our fault for not checking). Had a long wait for food - roughly 45 minutes but accepted it was really busy and the food when it arrived was lovely and plentiful. We had halloumi flatbread and some dishes from the pub classic menu. Also really enjoyed the convenience of being able to order on the app. Due to the positive experience we visited again on a Sunday evening. Much less busy so was hoping for quicker service and looking forward to trying something different from the Sunday menu. Unfortunately the wait this time was even worse despite the pub being approximately only 1/3 full. We waited 55 minutes for food to arrive. When it did it was also quite disappointing and there was no apology or acknowledgement for the long wait. The steak was really fatty, gammon was served as huge thick, very fatty slabs with probably only 50% actually edible and the roast potato’s were hard, cold and clearly straight from the freezer. The stuffing was lovely as was the Yorkshire pudding but overall it was really disappointing. It’s such a shame as a good quality Sunday roast could be such a draw for this pub but I just don’t think it hits the mark. No one checked on us during our meal to see how things were. We had also ordered some desserts at the same time as the mains (was advised on the app to order together with mains to get the advertised discount). When we chased the dessert a waitress told us we hadn’t ordered any as they hadn’t come through to the kitchen and so I had to get out the email receipt etc to show I had which was also a little frustrating and would have been embarrassing if there had been people sat next to us. The staff we did interact with were polite however it was just a disappointing experience overall. We will give it another go (not on a Sunday as didn’t enjoy the roast at all) but I think the wait times for food either need to be improved or it should be advised on the app or by a waitress at the time of ordering that there may be a lengthy wait. This would help to manage expectations. I think most people would be happy to wait if they are pre warned of the time and receive a good quality meal when it does come. As a positive, the interior of the pub looks lovely following the renovation. Really hope they can work on the issues with food service times as it has such great potential to be the best pub in the area.

After not visiting the Edan Arms in excess of two years, even though I only live 250m away ! Due to poor service, poor food, long waiting times and smaller and smaller portion size. I thought myself and family would give it a try due to it being under new management and after an overhaul. Wow what a mistake 😕. Ignored at the bar even though I had been seen 2 or 3 minutes early on a couple of occasions. We ordered on the app and the one starter came out within 10 minutes. Garlic mushrooms that had definitely been cooked at least 2 if not 3 times and only just edible. The mains took 57 mins to come out, so I was pointed out by the manageress when I said one hour !!! Two of the meals were steak, one medium an one medium rare. They were both massively overcooked, a small portion of peas, burnt Tomatoes and overcooked onion fries. Extremely disappointed as this pub used be famous for its food especially the steaks etc. We did get a full refund but that's not good at 8:30 in the evening when we sat down at 7:00 and ordered at 7:17. In future I will being use the glass house in Kirk sandall 10/10

Staff were lovely, although we did have to wait to order food as there was no chef (one had left before the evening staff had arrived). We weren't given the chance to order drinks while we waited, the bar staff wandered off to phone the kitchen staff to find out how long they would be. Food was lovely and recent refurbishment was nice. Still the same layout bilut a nice refresh.

Not been for ages as reputation wasn't great previously but the food was lovely this time, the pub in general is lovely & we had a great time. It was just very hot. Need to invest in air con or at least ceiling fans. We had the Eton mess pudding to cool us down.

The first time we’ve been here for Sunday lunch and we were a little disappointed. We were met by friendly staff and were warned that there would be a 30 minute wait for food. It appears that there was only one waitress on duty, who was doing a grand job seeing to our side of the pub. When the food arrived, one order was wrong but that was quickly rectified. The mushroom and spinach Wellington was apparently really tasty, but the Sunday Duo was really unappetising. The chicken was a chicken leg with a piece of backbone attached(?) and the gammon was extremely fatty and sort of thrown on to the plate. I came away hungry which is unusual for a Sunday Lunch. It seems like a really friendly local pub, where folk gather to eat - I’m sure our experience was a one off. For us the atmosphere was spoiled by an extremely loud family, who kept shouting at their child, but that is not the fault of the pub.

We sat in an area that seemed to be for dog owners, we don’t like dogs where we’re eating, would have been better indicated so we could sit away from them, there weren’t any dogs there when we sat down

I took my mum for Sunday lunch. Just moved to the area and it's just around the corner so thought we'd stay local. It was one of the worst Sunday lunches I have ever had! The roast beef was not at all what I was expecting. It said rib but I had assumed you were roasting a forerib and it would then be sliced but no, it was just two small bits of fatty meat around 2 ribs. The roasted vegetables were under-done. The cabbage was just a pile of large leaves and looked very unappetising. The roast potatoes weren't roast potatoes - they were deep fried potatoes. I'd had a busy day and if i hadn't been so hungry, I would have walked out. I won't be going again and I won't recommend it to anyone. Very very disappointed.

The pub has just had its refurbishment and it looks absolutely stunning, the food was amazing and great value for money. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Needs lots of work on their systems. App wouldn’t accept our table number, we were told it should be all systems has been updated to then be told it only went to table 86, we were 88. The food took 1 hour 25 minutes with my friend’s meal coming out over half hour earlier than the rest of us. We were told we would have received emails saying food orders were delayed as they were bust but we hadn’t to then later told they hadn’t sorted the system to do this yet it was still being worked on. The food was bad to mediocre. Was meant to taking my mum next week but not going to bother just yet, will wait till hopefully everything is running smoother.

Nicely and newly decorated inside, great value for money and a comfortable friendly environment. The food was lovely and I do recommend trying the Cajun fries!!

The Sunday roast is really good value and great tasting food, was really impressed. Most recently my Mum had her 60th birthday family get together at Eden Arms where we had a buffet menu and reserved seating for 3-4hours. The food choices were good and everything was warm & fresh tasting. The sweet potato chickpea falafel were particularly good! Also the Chipotle chicken bites were 👌🏻😍 the staff are nice, nothing is too much of a trouble.
