Lovely birthday meal for my Dad. 4 of us for lunch, all the food was excellent, server (Lucy) was attentive and the non-alcoholic pink gin was a winner!Really kind touch to do a special ‘Happy Birthday’ dessert - thank you for that. We’ll definitely be back.

I dined at The Fox to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends. It was my second visit within just over a month. This was not as enjoyable as the previous visit. No-one ordered starters but the extra cutlery wasn't removed. We ordered our meals but the menus were never removed, restricting space on the table. I ordered a mojito. I'm an infrequent drinker so I can feel the effect of alcohol! My friend is a seasoned drinker, but she couldn't taste any alcohol either (neither of us have had Covid!). I was assured there was alcohol in the drink. I asked for a top-up but it made no difference whatsoever. I'd been told that the roast beef was always cooked medium rare; last visit it was just medium rare, but this time not at all! I chose my dessert as last time - the chocolate bombe. It was sublime last time, but this time not so good. The toffee sauce was not hot enough to melt the chocolate bomb, and by the end of the dish it was all cold. The service was very slow, even though downstairs wasn't very busy. In this matter it wasn't a problem because we see eachother rarely, and used the time to catch up. None of this is a serious matter - except for the mojito - but I won't be in a rush to visit again. The venue doesn't provide an email address in their website.

It’s lots of years since our last visit, Covid definitely a factor, but finally we’re getting out again. We were a friends group of four on a lunchtime. The place was pretty quiet. It’s a lovely place from the outside and this follows inside. Beautifully decorated and has a lovely warm feeling as you enter. We were offered the Bar area or Restaurant. The bar seemed to have high tables so we went for the restaurant. I’d call the menu a little eclectic with a wonderful rage of options with interesting sounding descriptions. The service was very good and friendly. We selected for Starters,Pan fried Scallops, Chipotle sticky chicken. Then onto Mains Pan fried Seabass a Spiced Curry , King Prawn, Crab linguine and the huge Dirty Burger, with additional egg, lovely. The Scallops got full marks and were presented lovely. The chicken was also given the thumbs up. The mains were all eagerly tucked into. I’d the burger and it was lovely. The egg was a suggested extra that topped it off beautifully. All around it was a great lunch. We side stepped the pudding this visit. A great place which we’ll definitely be back to again.

We visited The Fox on Easter Sunday for a family meal. We’ve always had a great time here and were keen to bring our family who had never been. It’s safe to say we all enjoyed it! We were a bit early so enjoyed some drinks in the bar first, such a great selection to choose from! Once at the table we were looked after by Lisa who was always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone. Will definitely be having the mushroom starter and the Biscoff chocolate bomb again! All in all a fantastic afternoon. Great team, amazing food and a lovely atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again!

Visited mid week, low key birthday celebration at teatime. 6 adults 1 child (who was treated like a special little grown up) Attentive service by Lisa who looked after our table, great awareness of our needs, nothing was a trouble. helpful & personable, made our evening very relaxed and special. Food was good, birthday desert was a surprising addition. Thank you

Visited on our way home from a day out and was as good as ever. I tried the pie which I have to say was great, my wife had the sea bass which she really enjoyed. Service spot on as usual.

Really wonderful team at the Fox. They couldn’t have been more helpful from booking to service. The food was great and catered for vegan, vegetarian guests. Would definitely recommend.

Went in for a quick bite to eat before I got the train to Leeds, had a burger which was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful

Food was amazing as usual and a variety of choices on the new menu. The fishcakes were lovely followed by the apple and damson crumble with custard. Friendly, cosy pub would recommend for a catch up with friends and family, also dog friendly!

Amazing food, I had the duck pizza and chocolate bomb for dessert, service was good, a nice cosy pub with plenty of options of food, whether you’re a meat eater or need a vegan menu, the staff are highly attentive to your needs, would highly recommend.

I always use The Fox as my go to pub for family dinners. My recent experience was disappointing. The staff were badly trained and did not know how to serve. They were inatentive, to the point where you had to get up and go to the bar to get anything to happen. The carvery food was good but the burgers were oversalted and burned. The veggie burger was inedible and had to be returned. To be fair, we were not charged for the returned food or the replacement meal, but it's all still a bit sad. I'm giving it six months. If they don't improve, they get written off for a few years until another owner takes over.

We booked a table for Mother’s Day and when we arrived the place was packed, we were greeted by the manager who swiftly took us to our table where our server kaitlan took over. Although the food too a little longer than normal to arrive (which was to be expected seen how busy it was) the quality of it was exceptional. Scallops were delicious and the roasts were top notch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, service was amazing and was the perfect setting for our celebration. Can’t wait to come back.

We found it great value for money, the food was on point by Head Chef Connor and the service from the team was brilliant. Professional but friendly, really knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble.

Called in for a Sunday lunch and was greeted by a friendly member of staff. We both ordered roast dinners which were huge portions, and great value for money! We were well looked after, the service was outstanding, and the quality of food exceptional!We regularly visit The Fox, and are amazed every time! A great cosy pub

I came in to the fox and was greeted by a young well present gentleman, very broad Yorkshire and he was more than welcoming, I came in sat in at the table by the fire place and had a pint of ale, it was a most enjoyable hour or so I was at there. I will be back.

Yet another great meal at this fantastic pub, team all friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious one of the best burgers I’ve had. All in all a fantastic place to eat and drink

Took a friend for a birthday meal.It was her first time at Fox.We received a warm welcome on a cold Fridau evening,Excellent service from various members of the team.We both had the Seabass,which was delious,a very good combination of ingredients to compliment the fish.My friend had the crumble and custard .The Eton Mess was my choice both highly recommended. Will have no hesitation in taking friends to the Fox and look forward to my next visit.

Fantastic meal yet again, outstanding service from start to finish. Very busy but seemed very organised and everyone had smiles which was nice to see.

Mid December every year the family go out for a Christmas dinner. This time we booked Christmas dinner at the fox through their Christmas dinner website, and selected Christmas dinner from the list when we booked. On arrival the ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant. We sat at a lovely table but were not offered Christmas dinner menus. After asking twice we finally got the Christmas menu. The starters where wonderful and we were looking forward to the main meal. It was quite lacklustre when it arrived. How they call them roast potatoes I have no idea they were dried out horrible things. There was no bread sauce as per the menu the meal was not totally unpleasant but wasn’t enjoyable either for any of us. The desserts were also less than great, all topped off with the waitress dropping chocolate sauce over one of our guests. With the exception of the starters the whole experience wasn’t really what we had expected. It certainly wasn’t busy when we arrived or left so assume that is the standard. I see the Fox does have good reviews so I would not advise you avoid the restaurant but the service and the food mean we won’t be returning.

This is a great little pub, easily missed on the main road to Ilkley but well worth a visit. The food is of a very high standard and very well presented. I had some succulent roast pork with lots f crackling to dip in the rich gravy.

It seemed very busy when we arrived and slightly chaotic but we embraced the atmosphere at first.we were sat upstairs and only had one dedicated waiter who was busy with a big table and wasn't very attentive to us. Orders and drinks took ages to come, the kitchen was fast with our food order but my sunday lunch was missing a few ingredients which I had to chase the waiter to rectify and they didn't come till I was half way through my meal. They had run out of cauliflower cheese as a side order.Also the children's sunday roasts only came with half a Yorkshire pudding which they were very disappointed with, especially as they quite small to begin with. Waiter was trying his best when prompted but wasn't attentive naturally. Food was lovely but atmosphere not as exciting upstairs and felt forgotton about.

Visited tonight as we were sent a 50% off mains voucher code. We arrived early and had some drinks by the fire in the lounge. Then went to our table. We were served by Abigail who was amazing the whole night. Absolutely class service. Friendly, chatty, attentive and an absolute credit to the restaurant. Food was all spot on. As were the drinks.

Been here so many times for drinks and food but I was disappointed on this visit, I was sent a QR code for 50% off food this January. It’s great that your giving money off but service should stay the same as we eat here with or without codes but the staff didn’t seem to care. We had to get menus ourselves from the bar even though we said we’d like to eat and no one was coming to the table to take orders, therefore had to get the attention of the waitress to come and take our order, also we had to get the bill at the bar to pay as no one came to our table, then I had to tell them that I’ve got a code which we already explained when our food arrived. I’d rather not go through all this hassle if service is gonna be compromised for money off the bill. Id rather go somewhere else and get the service and pay full price, not sure if I’ll eat here again.

On a weekend away we saw this and checked it out online. Made a booking and it was great. Busy place but service really good. Excellent food and very well presented, granted not the cheapest, but excellent value and portion size is good. Would not hesitate to come back when we are in this area again

Popped in for some drinks and a bite to eat after a dog walk and was very impressed with everything from start to finish. Food was delicious and we can’t wait for our next visit.

Meal for four, we had a lovely meal for a adult family of four, The atmosphere was lovely, and was all able to hear each other in conversation.The staff made us feel very welcome, we changed the booking from 5 to 4 on arrival,the staff were very understanding All of the drinks we good, and served promptly The food was lovely, steak sandwiches, fish n chips & pork belly, all hot and delicious We are returning again tomorrow for another mealWell done

Arrived at 6.30 for our reservation, seated immediately drinks order not taken till 7. Starters eventually arrived at 8. By 8.40 still not received our mains. No staff to explain what was happening the table next to us left as they had waited an hour and still not ordered. At 9 we asked to see the manager and explained we would be leaving. She offered no apology just said they had a large party in another room. Poor customer service won’t be returning for a long time

We invited friends to Christmas Eve, festive meal, the service was excellent, however the meal was less than good,3 course meals all a let down, inadequate , vegetables ( 2 hard Brussels only), desserts poor,I thought , best way to give personal feedback, was call the manager, rather than ruin evening atmosphere on the day.How wrong I was I !, All he could say was, " you should have complained on the night"DEAF EARS !, Result : I have put my frustration on trip advisorLost a regular customer,!!!

We brought family here for dinner. 3 kids aged between 4 and 11, and 5 adults. Everyone had a meal they loved. I'm going to go as far as to say the dirty burger I had was the best burger I've ever eaten. I don't say that lightly - I've eaten a lot of burgers! Lovely waitress who couldn't do enough to help us. We'll be back for sure.

Visited for Christmas offer - inside typical gastro pub decor - but the unlit fire, in December, would have been better lit. Menu had good choice but one of the starters they were out of (5 pm) the venison not as good as a previous visit and the pork was very tough. However - overall not bad. The service was incredibly slow and we had to go and ask for the bill - although the staff throughout our time there very pleasant and helpful. Would go again, as local, although the decor and restaurant area of their sister, local pub nearby, is far superior. We were also not given the ‘included’ chocolates at the end of the meal! Not bad for a local pub meal.

Friendship lunch ruined by bad food and staff full of excuses. Creamy mushroom starter came with no cream and mushrooms like rubber. Staff said chef coudnt be bothered to put cream on and said tell customer they are vegan mushrooms. Main was overdone with slop on the side instead of vegetables. Staff said thats all we have left !I know everyone is struggling at present but very shoddy and not worth the money.On the plus the room was lovely and festive but that dosent fill your tummy !

FINALLY…. My favourite pub has got it right!!! I’ve been twice to eat in the last few months and this place has turned a corner. Great food, great service, what more could I ask for! For years I’ve been coming here and always so deflated with things when I leave but I’m very happy to say that this was not the case the last few visits. Whatever you have done….. keep it up! Cannot wait to come back and eat

2 of us went in at lunchtime without prior booking - there was absolutely no issue with this and the staff were outstanding. Pleasant, cheerful and obliging.A few week earlier I had put up a negative review of my previous experience on trip advisor and I have no hesitation in saying this was a complete contrast!Food was prompt, fresh and tasty, nd as UI have already said the service was outstanding.My friend has already booked for a return visit and I am looking forward to it! I have only delayed in this second review as Trip Advisor would not let me post twice within 21 days!

We went for Sunday lunch with friends and we’re greeted by friendly staff . As it was a Christmas meal with friends we opted for the Indulgent menu .All four of us chose the baked Camembert to start which came as a sharer , there was lots of breads to dip into it . The cheese had a lovely crumbled chestnut topping which was delicious.My friend and I had the venison for main course , so tender and tasty . The vegetables cooked just right . My husband had the Turkey dinner again beautiful. Our other friend had what he said “ the nicest pork belly ever “Dessert: three of us chose the chocolate orange melting bomb with toffee sauce . Another had the crumble . All so nice !The service , food and surroundings fabulous too .

On arrival the restaurant was warm and welcoming.The tables are set to a good standard and the restaurant is clean.The menu had a good variety of food options and the waitress in the restaurant was very knowledgeable on each item and was able to give good descriptives of what was on offer.I found the staff very attentive and approachable.The meal was to a good standard and I enjoyed eating in this restaurant I will definitely be returning soon.I am considering having my birthday celebration at The Fox

Went for Sunday lunch . Restaurant was about half full so not too busy . Plenty of staff around . We ordered the tomato soup along with duck and orange terrain to begin with . Both were delicious and very well presented . Then the Sunday lunch arrived . One beef and one pork . The belly pork was almost uneatable there was so much salt on the skin attempting to get the crackling of which there was none. The roast potatoes were so hard and overcooked we could hardly cut them and the root veg was shrivelled up it had been cooked that long . Pretty sure there should have been a side of stuffing but we didn’t get any . Also the gravy was not hot . No one came across to see if everything was ok , I would have liked another glass of wine but couldn’t get anyone’s attention, although when we got the bill and I saw it was £9.75 a glass I’m glad I didn’t have one ! If the gentleman who sat us down could have torn himself away from staring at the computer screen with bookings on we would have told him what we thought there and then but we didn’t get that opportunity . Our bill was £58 for 2 courses , I wine and a shandy . Way too expensive for the food and service we received .

Me and my friend dined with us on a Monday evening. We ordered a bottle of fizz, and 3 courses. The drinks arrived promptly, as did the food. The house Prosecco is lovely, and the food was fantastic. Well presented, tasted good & reasonable too! We were almost too full for dessert, but couldn’t resist, and glad we chose to go for it! We were served by Adam & Annabel, and were told the chefs were Connor & Goh. Thank you to The Fox for an exceptional meal and great service we look forward to coming again

As a gluten free person the struggles to find nice dishes can be hard. At the fox yesterday I had the lamb koftas and the pork belly. Both were beautiful and couldn’t fault. My friends also thoroughly there meals. The server Adam was lovely and friendly also made us made us laugh. Although we didn’t speak to the other members staff much they were all cheery and welcoming. Will be back. Thank you for an amazing evening.

A rare Tuesday lunchtime visit, though we were treated as if it were evening. From the extremely friendly welcome from several staff, to the ongoing top rate service. There were some interesting dishes and the halloumi fries were the tastiest I’ve eaten! We both had crab and prawn rolls, feeling they were so tasty, that we could have eaten another one each, had we not felt full. Previously living locally, the Fox was one of our regulars and it’s good to know their high standards remain. Our lovely waitress Jane, was obviously proud of the food and her work.

We visited the Fox on Saturday 2nd October and we were a party of 7. Because we wanted to bring our dog with us they said we would need to sit in the bar area, when we booked. From arrival to leaving the staff were amazing and faultless. Really attentive and friendly, they even sang happy Birthday and decorated my desert with birthday wishes. The setting was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic. We shall definitely return.

After months of COVID restrictions it’s good to get back to our weekly lunch at The Fox. With diverging tastes, we find the extensive menu ideal, full of quality and cleverly prepared food at reasonable prices. The decor and ambiance are excellent, as are the busy and attentive staff. We especially enjoy our fun chats with the energetic Lisa.Parking is easy.Very much recommend.Peter and Anne

Visited the Fox based on a friend’s recommendation and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing. I had scallops to start followed by sea bass. My wife had squid to start followed by chicken Brie and bacon pie. The flavours were superb. Lisa our server was wonderful. Very attentive without being intrusive. Definitely would recommend.

Fabulous food in a cozy environment, not your stereotypical “pub grub” at all. Portions were generous but pricing was still good, and our server Kaitlan was fabulous.

Recommended by hotel we were staying in.Food gorgeous, lovely helpful friendly staff, venue relaxed, decor lovely. We visited first night for dinner and went back each night we were staying in the area.Highly recommend for a lovely meal. Food around 15.00 for main course and 6 for dessert.

Beautiful and very stylish pub/restaurant with amazing decor and ambience.We were staying at the Hollins Hotel up the road and The Fox was recommended to us when we couldn't book a table at the hotel and we were really pleased they did.Food was amazing and was excellent quality but still reasonable value. We loved it so much we went 3 consecutive nights and weren't able to fault anything. Staff were also very personable, friendly and attentive, Freyz and Lisa were 2 of our servers with Lisa giving us recommendations on where to visit which was really helpful. I still can't believe that this place was not full every night so if you are in the area make sure you visit, you will not be disappointed.

Sorry but came away very disappointed!Had to settle for my third choice from the menu (which also happened to be the last meat choice on the limited menu).Then, the food was undercooked and didn’t even have something as simple as English mustard !!!

First off this was a return visit to the Fox as we were impressed on our first visit back in July and we were rewarded with excellent meals and a staff that was welcoming and attentive to our party.We ordered pork belly with scallops, sea bass and linguine all well cooked and presented and served to us by Kaitlyn who deserves a special mention for not only her level of service, her smile and her courtesy. This summary leads me on to the “nasty fellow diner”, sat two tables away was a mother and her son who to me looked the age that would be challenged for I.D. To this legal requirement the mother took offence. Next she complained that a drink was served in the wrong glass !!!!!! Sorry this is a local public house not a high end eatery where things might just matter. Then she complained after eating the steak that it was under cooked !! All this she appears to think was the fault of Kaitlin and decided to unload on the poor girl. She stood in the full view of our party and others and kept repeating her complaints again and again and again in the finally successful attempt to evade payment. To her I say, is this really the example you want your son to follow ? To Kaitlin and the other people serving that night for get it she clearly had an agenda and as this review and they other recently post d show what people truly think of your excellent service.

First review I've ever done because this visit to the fox was wonderful.Kaitlan served us and couldn't have been nicer.Friendly, cheerful, helpful, professional.Decor very homely,comfy chairs,very clean, lovely.FOOD exceptionally good.I had Seabass, which truly was the tastiest whole meal I've ever had.Massive compliments to Connor B. the chef.A great choice on the menu and generally way exceeded expectations.Really lovely deserts too.Highly recommend.

Can’t fault the quality of the food or the standard of service. Visited in August 2020 for an anniversary lunch and liked it so much we went back this year (2021).

A nice venue. Service was great. The menu isn’t massively extensive and to be honest the steak was OK. Overall a pleasant experience

Our server Lisa was extremely efficient and gave fantastic service not just to us but everyone that night.

The staff where very friendly, polite and welcoming. We were served promptly with our drinks. I had my favourite starter of the chipotle sticky chicken and i had the sea bass for my main, never tried it before, it was beautifully presented and was very tasty. The meal was delicious. Finished off with coffee and desert. Never felt rushed. What a lovely relaxed evening we all had. Highly recommend.

Our server Lisa was a delight, excellent at her job with a fun and friendly personality. The food was delicious, the sticky chicken starter was crispy on the outside but tender and pact full of flavour. The fillet stake sandwich was cooked to perfection and very accommodating to my picky tendency’s, the chefs are clearly skilled and know good food.The gent Andy on the bar was even kind enough to chat with us and make us laugh, manager James M made sure we were happy and taken care of. Atmosphere was great as well busy but not loud, we’ll lit with pleasant decor. Will defo be back soon! Thank u Fox Team

Ordered the sticky chipotle chicken for our starter which was delicious, sticky and sweet on the outside with a fantastic taste and beautifully tender on the inside, cooked perfectly. The steak sandwich was a real delight too, really succulent and complemented by the chutney. The team were lovely, welcoming and a joy to speak to, in particular Lisa our waitress. She was very accommodating to our requests and the bar staff were attentive and friendly.

Have been to the Fox quite a few times now and it’s always been consistent as in good food and service at reasonable prices and a varied menu.

Went to take visitors for a nice meal, and having had good experiences pre-covid. We were rung an hour before we set out to advise the 'signature roasts' were not available and when we arrived neither of the fish options normally on the menu was available either nor one of the desserts. I know they may have been busy but we had booked several days in advance and the kitchen would have known that are party were due. The waitress whilst wearing an apron was wearing very casual jeans, which was disappointing when others had taken the trouble to wear black (this sounds petty but the subsequent survey asked about this) and she was over eager to ask if we (including her) were having a good meal several times followed by a succession of others interrupting us every few minutes to see if we were enjoying ourselves - this was too intrusive.Food presented was good, especially chicken pie, although insufficient toasted bread came with the melted cheese starter - when we asked for more it was brought relatively quickly but not sufficiently toasted so it fell apart. The Chicken pie was very good but the side dish of asparagus was overcooked and watery. When the end of meal was reached we were not offered coffee and when we enquired it was suggested that the coffee maker had been switched off already - in fact they then said it was available but by then we had decided to have coffee at home.All serving staff except the manager were cheery and welcoming, if a little too intrusive about whether we were enjoying everything; the manager appeared harassed when walking about the restaurant and did not raise a smile.I will go back but only when I feel more confident the food choice on the menu is available.Covid precautions e.g. table separation good, toilets clean and fine except for the lack of paper products.

If you are looking for excellent food, service, and convivial surroundings, look no further than The Fox. Head Chef Connor’s scallops were divine, and Chloe’s considerate and caring attention complemented the superb food, providing us with a very enjoyable experience.

The most amazing roast i have ever had, i suggest the beef as it was divine!! The staff were very friendly and attentive, in particular our server Lauren who was always smiling. Great atmosphere and a welcoming vibe. Will gecome our new sunday spot!!

We came home from holiday today and thought we’d have one final fling before we were back to work ! It was lovely to see the Fox looking more like it used to. During lockdown we ventured out when we had a small window of opportunity and were made to feel very safe - today whilst it felt no less safe it was great to see it bustling more like it used to. It was also great to be looked after once again by Lisa who is always so kind and considerate and gave us a lovely welcome back! The food was as delicious as ever and after a lovely starter and main course we were disappointed to find they had no crumble or brûlée left ( though how we’d have fitted it in I’m unsure!) so we rounded our meal off with our favorite liquid desserts- Espresso Martinis- they never disappoint. Thanks again Lisa for looking after us so well, and thanks to the whole team ! It was great to be back !

Came for a mid week treat and was not disappointed. Amazing blood orange and passion fruit gin cocktail with a huge choice of other gins and cocktails. I had chicken and brie pie and my husband had pork belly. Excellent service from Adam who was so helpful. Were too full for pudding sadly. Extensive and unusual wine list too.

We came here for some drinks on a midweek evening. Our experience couldn’t have been any better. When we arrived the candles were lit and lights dimmed giving a warming cosy atmosphere. We were seated upon arrival and told we can either go to the bar to order or someone would be over and take our order for us if we would prefer.Our drinks arrived, a Leeds pale ale and passion fruit martini & they were outstanding.You can tell the team here really care about brilliant service and put a real effort into the service they provide.We will definitely be back for food as it smelt amazing and got a little look at some food as it was served to tables beside ours.We will definitely be back. We were staying at a local campsite and pre booked The Fox, from start to finish The Fox outdid themselves! The food - outstanding! The service - outstanding! We will definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends and family and hope to visit again.

You can always rely on the Fox for good quality food great atmosphere and attentive service from Lisa as always. Best restaurant around here and never lets you down. Cannot fault it. Always receive the warmest welcome from Lisa who cannot do enough for you.

We have visited The Fox Menston on numerous occasions prior to Covid 19 and recently for Sunday lunch and mid week. On each occasion we have found no faults with either the food, service or atmosphere. We praise the staff particularly Chloe who is a true expert in her role as customer service which is in our opinion is unbeatable. From being seated at our table to leaving she was very attentive with a good personality.The Fox is a relaxed and cosy environment offering a variety of meals with starters, mains and dessert to suit. Sunday Lunch we opted for the roast chicken which was very tasty with home made gravy. Dessert was very moorish Chocolate bomb. I was in chocolate heaven. The daytime menu we opted for a pizza and Duck salad. Again we found no faults and if anything portion sizes were big and we were unable to have a dessert.We would definitely recommend The Fox Menston if you looking for somewhere which feels comfortable and relaxing with a varied menu.

This is a very pleasant restaurant/pub with a decent varied menu to suit every taste. The service was great. LIsa was attentive and dealt with our large group with humour and patience . Covid arrangements were very good and the place was spotlessly clean when we went there.

Inside is nice. It is decorated nicely and clean. Food was nice. Mostly impressed with the cup of tea that I had. It’s the third time that I have been here, once when it was busy and twice when it hasn’t. Food was much better when it was quiet so from now on we’ve decided only to call in when it’s not so busy.

When you walk into a restaurant you usually get a really good feel and a sort of excitement about the food. You certainly get that feel here. That is until the food came. Certainly disappointed with the fish and chips, full of bones, tasted bland and a wet soggy batter on the bottom. The burger tastes great but by god £16.50 for 1 small beef patty and 1 piece of bacon is extremely overpriced. The melting chocolate bomb that is priced at £8.50. Didn’t even melt. Sauce was no where near hot enough. Just a shambles really. Never ever written a review on a restaurant and it’s taken me 2 weeks to try get over how poor the food was for the prices charged.

Our first visit to this restaurant, first impressions were that it has a friendly down to earth feel. Our waitress Laura was absolutely lovely, nothing was too much trouble and despite being very busy and having lots of stairs to negotiate, she took her time with us and was most helpful and chatty, took used glasses and plates away etc. A very good and able worker with the correct attitude to the diners.We were surprised that the menu was exactly the same as at our previous Sunday lunch restaurant, The White Hart however, despite having the roast again it was far superior at The Fox. Everything was presented very well and tasted delicious, we would definitely recommend this place to anyone.We ate scallop and kofta as starters and had the trio and beef Sunday roast, very well cooked with trimmings. We even managed puddings- black forest bombe and creme brulee, both absolutely delicious.The beer was good and the wines.A very friendly and delicious experience, when in the area again, we will be going back, thank you very much.

I visited The Fox last night with a friend and was very impressed. We had a lovely window booth to ourselves and the atmosphere was really relaxed. The waitress who looked after us was absolutely delightful - I fail to remember her name but she was chatty, attentive and it felt like she actually cared about us enjoying our evening rather than just being there to do a job and get home. A pleasant change from most restaurants I’ve been to!As a vegan, I was happy to see a decent selection of plant-based options on the menu, including desserts. I had a plant-based burger which was tasty, if a little overcooked (my only criticism). Crumble and dairy-free ice cream for dessert was delicious. I also ordered a French Martini which was divine.All in all, tasty food and drink, pleasant service and a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely return.

Came here on my daughters recommendation and was not disappointed. Lovely ambience, staff and clean environment, totally adhering to social distancing guidelines. The food, well I will return, the sea-bass was so lovely and my daughter loved the chicken. The little cake and coffee was stunning too. Eagerly planning my next meal here, just torn between the pork and lamb. I hear they also do a mean Sunday roast!Thanks for the superb service, Lisa and team and we will see you soon.

First of we would like to say thank you to Lisa for her fantastic service and Connor the Chef for the really really great food.I'm a chef myself so I can be picky at times.I did my apprenticeship at Acacia House next door (now demolished) many moons ago and haven't been back since! Its rare I'll go out and have a roast because lots places just don't get the great British roast dinner!I took a chance here and had the trio of roasts and did not regret it. Roasted veg , cauliflower cheese. Gigantic Yorkshire puddings. Chicken , Pork belly and crackling. Pink Beef. All cooked perfectly covered in a Jus The children's menu was also wholesome and fresh.The service was really friendly. Lisa (waitress) was so good with the children. She made us feel right at home.The prices for the quality and amount food offered were/are absolutely reasonable!A comfortable and refreshing change.Kind regardsMark

Visited twice recently for lunch with my family and dinner with a friend. Both visits the food was lovely, tasted great and good value for money. The service each time was also friendly and attentive. Would defo recommend and will be back, thank you!

4 out of 8 knives had food encrusted on them. 1 replaced still gad food on it. An £8 apetetif arrived after the starter. Waiter took order with no notepad. 3 items wrong or not presented to us. No sauces offered for burgers. £118. Very very disappointing. Was asked if everything was ok and all the above was discussed with staff. Sauce that didn't arrive wasn't on bill. That was it. Not going here again.

We had an excellent dinner this evening . Food was prompt and first class quality. We had made an error In our booking but the management and particularly Nia were professional in sorting things out. Covid procedures were also very good.We recommend the Fox.

Wanting to support local restaurants at this challenging time and being selective when and where to go out I felt very disappointed with my Beef Roast as I had more fat than beef . Such a shame because every measure was put in place to feel safe but unfortunately this wasn't up to standard .

Covid hygiene good..actually better with more space between tables even though we could have had better table. Fire not on which is a shame as it always makes it look more inviting. Sunday lunch quite pricey but nice enough...bit stingy on veg and side portions. Overall enjoyed would recommend.

Visited the fox this evening, the food and service was fantastic, particularly from our lovely waitress Lisa! We will definitely be visiting again to take advantage of the 50% off main courses during the week!

One of my favourite places to eat. The food is always outstanding, service is always on point and the atmosphere is always warm and friendly. Had the pork belly for lunch the other day with the scallops and it was unreal

We like to walk here after a busy week at work to wind down, have a drink or 2 & a meal. Most nights are great, relaxing & enjoyable, it all depends on The Range Rover crowd, The Fox seems to attract them in there droves! We seemed to start the evening with our table surrounded but them - loud, brash & full of their own importance. Not the wind down we had hoped for! Luckily after an hour or so they moved from our earshot & we stayed put, enjoying the great service from the super smiley waitress who couldn't do enough to please! It's 5 minutes from home & we like to visit our local - just might have to tuck ourselves in a corner away from the passing through crowd in future!

We popped in once again for a meal, everything was lovely & safe.The menu is great and constantly changing, staff are knowledgable about the dishes on the menu & the drinks menu, albeit reduced.We will most certainly be back in!Hopefully we will see you around Christmas.

A lovely covid safe yet relaxed date night with extremely tasty food and even better service.Caitlyn our server was really bubbly and knowledgable about the dishes and made our night very special.The management here clearly know what they are doing and we will be back soon I’m sure.
