The food was good when we finally got it.

Do not go here. Took us 45mins to get food. Over brown chips.fish over cooked very brown batter. Substand chicken pie, mash dry as under lights, peas as onlyveg! Overpriced. To me best to get drinks watch tv and go!! Wont call again

Called in for drink having travelled from North Wales. This is a very decent pub, plenty of drinks choice, good looking menu, pleasant staff. Very clean throughout and plenty of parking

Basic locals pub. Friendly enough. Good range of Timothy Taylors but not especially well kept. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food.

When we called last Monday the bingo was on which made it impossible to have our usual group conversation. Also the Black Sheep didn't taste quite as nice as it usually does. Looks like we will have to find a pub that better accomodates our needs.

Used to be alright but stood waiting to be served at an empty bar I was walked passed 5 times between 2 members of staff. While still waiting a local asked for a pint and was served straight away while I was still stood there being ignored so we ended up walking out

Ate here for a Sunday lunch, food ok but nothing special, pub clean and tidy, service fine, TVs with sport on but not too many customers so no great atmospgere

Called in for lunch but something was wrong in the kitchen so very limited menu. Only had a drink. Went elsewhere to eat. Did notice the place was empty. Dog friendly.

We both had burger and homemade chips. Food was very good quality pub grub. We live locally and have experienced the ups and downs of the Roebuck over the years but we've eaten here a couple of times recently and it's definitely on an Up. We'll be back.

Had an amazing meal here as we were staying nearby. The food was to an excellent standard, that home cooked good pub food you don't find in many places anymore! The team were amazing and we stayed for some karaoke. Cracking evening thank you Roebuck team! Joe from Sheffield.

Lovely local pub with a friendly atmosphere, we went on Friday for our dinner. We had two main meals plus a drink each and it was around £35. Great value for money, the meal was lovely and the staff were super. Everyone was so friendly, one of the other customers helped us with some questions we had about the local area. If your passing or staying here I would highly recommend this pub 👍🏻

Really good food, came quickly and lovely staff. It's was very reasonably priced too, we will definitely be going again. Good range of gluten free options and had a designated fryer for the chips which is brilliant.

Ordered 3 pints which all tasted off, maybe the pipes weren't cleaned properly but we all woke up feeling rough even after only one drink. The bartender was slightly rude which didn't help either.

Food was delicious we really enjoyed it. Only issue was the swearing at the bar when there were family and children there eating

We thought we would give the Roebuck a try for lunch as we understood it was under new management. We had the chefs special of lamb shank and the chilli con carne half rice, half chips. Both meals were delicious and the portions were ample. Service was friendly and there was good music in the background. We will definitely will go back there again.

The pub has now reopened thou covered with scaffolding. We had an excellent meal and hope people use it. Staff are first rate food preparation 1st class and excellent value. A very good visit.

Sunday lunch service was a little slow, but it was worth waiting for. I would recommend this establishment to all of my friends. Beer choice was limited to Tim Taylor's Boltmaker, but the pint I had was great. Keep up the good work guys. Seemed a very young team, but they did everything necessary to keep us happy.

Lovely woman who served us. We broke down on the A629 on Sunday, 26th February, 2023. The bar staff were absolutely fantastic and asked if we wanted somewhere to stay to keep warm. The food was fantastic and a great place to keep warm on cold evenings. We aren't from the area, but we would definitely come back if we lived close. Thank you! 🙂👍

Been in a couple of times since the new management started about 10 days ago. Glad to have the place open again. Today is the first day for the new menu and bodes well, good home cooked food - 3 meals between us and very satisfied. Great service from Lucy as usual, cheery and welcoming!!

Terrible service. Not interested in customer service. No proper coke on the post mix. When Asked why said haven't had time to change it. 10 persons in the pub. And I saw three staff.

I go here quite often as live close by but seems to have changed over last few years - staff usually pleasant enough & service fine - the all-day breakfast is lovely but generally food average, ok for quick snack but would not recommend for a proper meal out, Sunday lunch, etc, portions a little small & seems the only veg you ever get is peas! On last visit, I was served a meal with a jug of gravy which was solid! Also just found out the hard way they don't serve food Mon - Weds, which does not seem to be stated on their website & don't open at all till 12 o clock on any day, but says 11 o clock on the website - just be careful of this if planning a visit

Visited here when staying with friends, food was kind of standard pub food, but nice and good value. Staff were super friendly and welcoming and there is even a spot of karaoke on a Friday. Will come again for sure.

One of the worst meals I have ever eaten, thought the steak was a piece of black pudding, spent £20 for burnt offerings and got offered a ice cream as an apology

Got there for food, there not doing food, we looked at the menu online before we set off and there was no mention of them no doing food, we wanted food we were starving, and there was no food, please do food, WE NEED FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD.

Its a lovly pub food to price is really good only gripe is not a fan of the new menus as there abit all over the place with trying to make everything a 3 step choice

Just a few doors down from where we staying, nice evening meal and a great atmosphere

Only stopped off for a quick drink so can't say too much. A few tables to sit outside in the sun but they are on roadside so not exactly a quiet drink. Seemed like a reasonable selection of beers/lagers. Talking to chap who described food as "ping ping" (ie microwave) but reasonable.

They didn't have anything we wanted to order off the menu, service was very poor, staff with bad attitude which seemed to be passed down from the chef, won't be going again in a hurry, we were only one of many who walked out 😞

Nice pub, there all dropping.like fly's. This one's always got people going. Service is a little slow. Small.seqting area outside. There is a car park.

We went for a meal this evening we had a really good meal and the service by Lucy was cheerful with a nice welcoming smile which is always nice to have when you walk into a place and she was working really hard, we will be back again.

We've been here several times and the service was Excellent. Lucy is an absolute credit to the team and extremely hard working. The food is value for money and came out hot, with smile and in a timely fashion. Will be coming again especially for the good service xx

I went there for a drink with friends and two of us ate. I had the burger. It was very salty also it took a long time for the plate to be cleared. I was not asked if everything was OK either.

The pub is very clean and friendly but on the food side was a different matter, we had a pre cooked steak pie frozen peas best part was the chips nobody came back to ask if the meal was OK nor did they try upsell asking if we wanted a sweet they didn't even bother to take there plates away it's certainly changed the staff need to multitasking ya can't beat freshly cooked food which this is not wouldn't advise friends to go

A very friendly pub, visited Friday and Saturday. Completely different ambiance. Had a great meal on the Friday, just had drinks on the Saturday. Very friendly staff.

Just stopped off for a coffee and it was nice and friendly with good service. Will happily stop off here again for something to eat next time.

The food was rubbish we won't be coming back!

In all honesty, worst food I have ever had in my life. Menu states ‘proper good food’ however, unfortunately it is very far from the advertisement. The Pie came and the pastry couldn’t be broken by hand or cutlery with all the inside fried like black mush onto the plate. The mixed grill, yellowish rubbery chicken and a very poor steak burnt outside, pink inside. Poor customer service. Would not recommend. I wish I could leave a picture to show how bad the food looked! Very disappointed & I would have been ashamed to serve those plates.

Ordered the hand battered cod with chips and mushy peas omg the chef should have been embarrassed sending my plate out .. the fish was obviously bought from the cash and carry and deep fried, the chips were hard and cold and I had a teaspoon of mushy peas .. disgusting in this day and age, I refused to pay and the waitress asked how much I’d eaten I replied possibly 2 small bites and the Pretend fish she went over to my table picked up the fish and looked at it lol to say I was gobsmacked was an understatement.. never again

Popped in late for a bite to eat, was pleasantly surprised. Food was plentiful and cooked to perfection. Good sized portions at a very reasonable price. Will visit again. Staff are friendly also.

I visited the Roebuck last Friday and had an amazing time! I love fruity gins so when I saw they had the Gordons Mediterranean Orange gin, I jumped at the chance to try it! It was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Definitely will be visiting again.

Good food, nice atmosphere. menu was limited but I let that slide due to the festive period. Got 10oz Rump steak, medium. Was medium on the outside, once in the middle it was very rare, good job I'm not a steak hater. Apart from that, very nice.

There was a long list of unavailable items, seemed like half the menu. The food was good but the beers on offer were a bit uninspiring

Been on two occasions this week. The Roebuck is a very nice place. Staff are very pleasant and polite. On both my occasions. 1st with my daughter we had food which came out presented well and tasted so good. Staff came and ask if food was OK. We left very satisfied. Came back again today. 3 in the group and very impressed again with service and food. Deserts today was lovely. Keep up the great service and food. Well be back. Mr Pickering & Family

Can't really say, only go for random change, seemed very friendly people , staff soon attended. Pool table for interaction, clean & tidy fesilities too, plenty of parking outside, re child friendly seating area enclosed, I saw that dogs are also welcomed.

The service we recieved from walking into this establishment was totally disgraceful. I suggest the owner of this restaurant pays for his female barmaid to attend a customer service seminar to learn how to deal with the general public! The rolling of the eyes and the tutting when she had already put ice cubes in a glass and we told her we didn't want ice was deplorable! Then to be told by another bar person that there were people waiting to be served and her answer to this was well they will have to wait won't they! Get another job flower I you don't like being in customer services . 2 stars are for the barma who was polite and genuine. As visitors to the area, I'm afraid we will not be returning to this public house

I had the burger which was absolutely (very cheap product) disgusting. I recently had a burger at the Wrose Bull for a similar price and there was a chasm between the quality of the produce. Please give them a call and change your supplier.
