First time visit for lunch. Quick and friendly service. Clean and welcoming eating area's.Good choice of beers and wines. Food ordered came in good time and was piping hot and well presented. Very happy to visit again.

Nice place , good outside space. Reasonable selection of cask. Didn't eat so can't comment on food.

We come here every Monday for the quiz and bingo. The atmosphere is always great and so is Simon. (We're the ones who come with Linda 😂)

I took my family for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday. The service was slow and the food even worse. Three family members ordered roast beef which quite frankly was inedible. The beef was tough, and was virtually all muscle and fat. The vegetables were piled in a heap on top of the meat ,were overcooked and just about warm, certainly not freshly prepared.When the waitress came to clear the plates she commented on the beef left on the plates and in response to our comments told us that there had been other complaints and the chef had taken it off the menu! All the meals when they were served were swimming in gravy!! I wrote to the manager re our experience but did not receive the courtesy of a reply. The meal was definitely overpriced regardless of our experience here. . My advice? Look elsewhere!

Our carver was Ian and our server was Angela and both gave us amazing service! Ian was super friendly and we had a good laugh whilst he was sorting out our food. Angela’s service was top notch, she was so friendly and kind! We 100% recommend to anyone

Its a great location, the beer and beer choices are all good, not tried the food. But, we won't ever come back again until you either make the signage more prominent or have one of your door bouncers ask if you parked in the car park. £100 to park for 20 minutes and 32 seconds, seems counter customer friendly. And as I read through the reviews, this is a big issue for you. Fortunately sense prevailed and you cancelled the fine. This is all too much effort for you and me!

Although the food kitchen was closed for unforseen circumstances...the manageress offered us to bring in a takeaway and a free first round of drinks. Fantastic hospitality. Thanks L the boss x

Excellent food. Starters were amazing , Panko prawns are highly recommended and all mains ordered were cooked to perfection. Hunter's chicken , Fish and chips and Mixed grill . Desserts were just as good and staff are really friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend.

The Sunday Roast and the Smoked haddock was excellent so 5 star for that but the negatives are , charged £3.95 for a bottle of water which you don't realise that's it chargeable till you read the bottom of the menu but did not get the menu and we had opened the water considering the food is expensive it's a bit underhanded you should be asked . Plus strictly no small portion or light bite my partner only eats a small lunch We were not asked if everything was ok till we asked for the bill and the staff did not seem welcoming We had the crab cone which you have to see the size to belive its so small Wine is also on expensive side In all nice lunch felt overcharged so no tip

Used to go regularly, although it was closed the previous time we came. However, after ordering today by app, they got half the order wrong & didn't refund for providing children's portions instead of the adults portions clearly paid for. (Had to send back individual nachos after they were sent in place of the sharer ordered & paid for). A disappointing drop in standards. The pattern of trying to short change customers is worrying.

Great restaurant/bar at the centre of Pocklington. Busy over the weekend with drinkers and diners. Fantastic staff, super friendly. Super owners who gave us great advise on places to visit. Can't wait yo return.

Went last weekend for the Christmas carols and lights switch on. There are two female bar staff. One is polite and nice and is smaller. One has a rude, combative manner and is physically intimidating. She first asked who was next; ignoring me when I said it was me ( man in front of me just got served and a teenager et al pushed in the queue to the front of the bar and in front of me deliberately but it was still my turn). My words fell on deaf ears and when the man before indicated that he found this embarrassing ( pulling that cringe face people do) I said maybe I was invisible ( not pointedly just resignedly ) and he laughed. I’d been chatting with him and his partner earlier; bar person then raised her voice at me and tried shaming me because I’d discussed it with the man before me but not instigated by me ! Saying ‘we’ know you are there; ‘we’ are serving others besides you!!’ Who is ‘we’? Why ask who was next if she’d decided? How come her ears worked selectively? The reaction was completely over the top, raised angry and sarcastic. I told her not to bother and left embarrassed by this outburst. The event was tainted. Customer service is not a job for people with lowxemotional regulation. Not coming back for more of this.
