Great food and atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. Live music, bar games. Highly recommend this as a place to get together!

I often enjoy going for a solo beer. Sometimes I like to go for a beer with friends. I even bring my family along, on occasion. One thing I like to do by myself, regardless of the company I'm keeping in the establishment is go to the toilet. When I go to the toilet I expect some mess. Especially if this is in a busy period. When I've been to the toilet, I like to wash my hands. This is the area I don't expect to be particularly unclean. Especially in the pictures I've attached. I'm not sure if due to the growth seen below the only hand dryer in the men's toilets (that caters for 6 urinals and 3 western style toilets, 3 sinks) is going to make me very ill or into an extra from The Last of Us, but it is certainly not something I would expect to see in such an otherwise tidy venue.

Not worth the risk if they use predatory and manipulative parking companies. We have been loyal and long term customers but after my dad input his car reg incorrectly (as he is not very tech savvy) we have been chased by ParkingEye's predatory fine practices and left with a hefty fine even after submitting photos and bank statements proving we were customers at the exact same time as the parking fine. In their defense they did offer to help however we had already started an appeal due to the predatory language and threat of ridiculous price increases. As such they were unable to cancel the fine after an appeal was submitted. I Really like the area as my family come from the Salts mill town, with my 90 year old grandad who grew up down the road we often take for a meal. We often visit with lots of family and friends but this has left us with a bad experience. Not worth the risk, many other tap houses/restaurants in the area that are probably worth supporting instead. Sad when a company can’t help customers due to an automated and predatory parking fine.

Booked a table for 10 for a birthday party. Great service, great pizzas. Staff were excellent, food tasty and beer brewed on the premises fantastic. Vibrant atmosphere. Thanks.

Went in Christmas Day and felt like we were met with a group of jail wardens as the staff where very unfriendly. I asked for a cappuccino skimmed or semi skimmed .. you would have thought I added for gold .. I live steps away so it's a shame it wasn't a nice experience yet again.

Spent 50 mins at Salts bar and bought Scampi and fries (fries being sold separately which were expensive) - So not only did we feel short changed with the portion sizes at stupid expensive prices we get £100 parking fine a few days later - for parking in the signed "customer parking" I had to come onto Trip advisor to find others had had the same dating back to 2019!! I contacted the info placed on others replies re contacting hello@saltsbeerfactory.co.uk and the fine was removed very quickly but why should I have to do this?? Clearly Salts you are not putting into practice and help for customers if I see complaints on Trip adviser complaining of the same issue 5yrs ago! I appreciate that you are facing a school so you have put this in place but you made absolutely no effort to tell us on arrival, when ordering at the bar, No signage on the bar, no signage in the car park on the door etc - Putting your reg in to prevent a fine is not "the norm" so if a patron parks in "customer parking" then you should be making the effort to inform customers that you have this in place, clearly Salts you are not putting into practice and help for customers. Removing the fine retrospectively has left a mediocre experience into a 1 star really peeved off experience and will not visit again - Now I know why it was quiet in there on a Friday Afternoon, not exactly a welcoming visit.

Very pleasant venue, lively but with quiet corners. Very quick service of tasty food and an excellent selection of beers.

I had some professional friends down from Scotland on the 23/09/23. We had a lovely pint early in the evening in Salts bar (formerly Tram Shed)before visiting some other local pubs and decided to finish the night in the Salts bar. At the bar I believe was the duty manager my friend from Glasgow said he would pay the round. Beers were poured but he tried to pay in Scottish sterling which is legal tender the manager refused to accept it. After explaining to him it is legal tender he claimed the banks don't accept it which is wrong as I worked in banking sector. My other friend offered to pay on his card but the manager snatched his drink off him and called the doorstaff. We explained what had happened to the door staff and they agreed but the manager had told us to leave. Considering Saltaire is a world heritage site and many tourists come to visit including from Scotland his attitude to my Scottish friends was appalling. I hope this is not a general reflection on how staff at the Salts bar treat tourists. Thank you

This used to be the Tramshed so is a very large venue, split into 2 parts. One is a levely bar the other is a brewery which you can also sit and drink in. The prices aren't what I'd cakll cheap but there is an excellent selection and most of what is on tap is made on site. The beer has an excellent reputation and it's well worth sampling some of the more obscure choices. It can be quite loud and I've heard some horror stories about the parking. Good venue for a Weekend, even better if the sun is out as there's a large beer garden.

Went for a pint with a friend and to pick up some beer to drink at a bbq. A few days later, I received a parking fine. I appealed the fine with clear evidence showing I was a customer(bank statements) and thought the fine would have been rescinded - NOPE. The parking company said there was insufficient evidence and that they would reduce my fine to £20. I thought I'd contact Salt directly to discuss, but their response is that as I'd already appealed, there is nothing they could do. If you do go, be very careful to register your car and make sure it definitely goes through on the machine or you may also get a fine.

Catch up with friends (part of 8) Easter hold. Been quite a few times but not had the pizzas before. Had the carne, gabbrini, pepperoni, funghi, carbonara and chicken options. All arrived hot and delicious. The fresh onion rings were yummy too. Only one dessert for the sweet toothed teen, brownie and clotted cream.. winner! Lovely atmosphere and staff were smiling and willing to help make our stay enjoyable.

I don’t think I ever been so insulted in all my life!!!! I went for a drink with two friends, ask the bouncer if there was a reason he was around the old castings at the end of bar because they looked really old. He came back with “have you got a problem…if you have leave…you’re being aggressive, have you got a problem?” I politely said “I haven’t got a problem I genuinely wondered if the casks you where next to were of importance given we were in a brewery” I just got more aggression! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE We’d literally had two pints and wonder what the old casks were about. BAG OUT OF ORDER

I dropped in for drinks with friends on 25/11. The tablet to I put your car details wasn’t working properly, but tried anyway. On the positive side I stayed for an enjoyable couple of hours. Great atmosphere, drinks and food. Today I have received a £100 bill for car parking which is utterly disgusting for a drinks/food establishment. How can you justify ripping customers off with a fine for staying long enough to eat and have some drinks? Staff should point this out to patrons when they order drinks too! I can’t see your business being successful long term when people repeatedly get stung for having the audacity to park at a pub. I am onboard with discouraging drinking and driving, but this is utterly disgusting! I don’t see why I should have to pay a fine for a dodgy tablet, and on top of my food and drink. You’re not Salt Bae! (Food was nice though). If this fee stands I will never return and I’m sure the 30 people I was with will think twice before coming again. I know parking in Saltaire can be a challenge but stinging actual pub goers is not the way to solve this problem.

Spending money then get a £100 bill for parking. Avoid Charging customer to park ! Been in numerous times but only once in the car. Will never go in again

Fantastic venue, great beers, brilliant pizza and very attentive staff. Arriving on a Monday night we were greeted with a fantastic looking building, a good atmosphere and a superb selection of drinks. We headed to the Pizzeria and sat in a side room which was just as nice as the main building. Food came quickly and was very good quality….I recommend the Moroccan Lamb pizza. Desserts, whilst limited in choice, were superb!

As other reviewers have said, you must give your car registration when you arrive in order to enjoy free parking. We have visited SALT many times and enjoyed the excellent food, e.g. freshly baked pizza and chicken wings and our latest visit on a Friday evening was no exception. There are vegetarian, vegan and dairy free options which were key considerations for our party, but no vegan cheese is used on the pizzas which is a little odd. However, whilst the waiting staff were friendly and helpful the table service was very slow throughout. The music was very loud which made conversation very difficult and for this reason we didn't linger after our meal.

Take care with the parking we inadvertently added a wrong vehicle registration number in the system and despite proving we had spent money in the bar they still issued a parking fine of £100

Well organised in light of all the covid restrictions, but still with really friendly service. Good range of beers, tasty food and love that it's in the middle of Saltaire.

This is not a comment on your lovely pizzas but on your collaboration with the parking eye enforcement company. I came to collect some take away pizzas at the allotted time. You’d not even put them in the oven. I was not directed to complete the registration for the car park and landed a £100 fine. I appealed with evidence of receipt and your delay and they want to reduce it to £20. So kind not! I will now boycott your establishment which is a shame as I used to go a lot but there are alternative places to eat and drink!

We enjoyed our first pint after lockdown here, and found the service wonderful and the range of drinks on offer exceptional. Definitely one of my favourite bars in the area!!

This was my first time going to the Salt Bar and it was honestly superb, the drinks were lovely and food was even better. And the service was impeccable our server celay was tremendous and really friendly, would recommend to anyone.

Having just visited this afternoon I have come home very disappointed. 8 of us planned to meet for food and drinks then to watch the Manchester Derby football game. This didn’t go as planned as your TVs were not working properly and I missed half of the game. This spoiled our family afternoon out as we are all massive Manchester United fans. For such a big establishment this is hugely unacceptable! I complained at the bar and the barman said it was due to the weather, the weather outside was fine!!!, this must be an issue that has been going on for a while as it seemed to be normal to the bar staff. There’s was people walking in then walking straight back out because the game wasn’t on. How can you have such a lovely pub but can’t sort your TVs out for the biggest game of the season? We visit every Sunday and this has really spoilt our experience and regrettably we are discussing whether we will return.

Good eating place for a pleasant lunch. Once you remember to log your car into the desktop screen you are safe to relax. Friend had a fish butty which came with chips, some mushy peas and tartare sauce. I opted for the vegan salad which was spicy and crunchy with a nice dressing. Wish they had tables that didn’t feel like you were in Alice in Wonderland! I don’t like being perched on high stools. Or conversely low tables!Friend had a pint of Saltaire Blond, I had a sparkling water. I had a hot chocolate to finish. Bill came to just short of £25 which was good value.

Working close by to this bar I have frequeted it numourous times over the years with colleagues. Unfortunately, I have just never taken to it. The place is cavernous and is propbably great for large groups of people but I personally dont feel it very comfortable and believe it to be just a bit over rated, cold and impersonal. Being no big fan of witherspoon establishments I was astounded when going to the otley branch the following day to order a pint of lager for £1.89....the same pint in Salt bar £4.05. I would love someone to explain that to me!! Bar staff friendly enough though.

Great non alcoholic beer not just the usual Becks blue along with the blonde very delicious We had fish & chips & a risotto with feta & asparagus which were both really lovely.I’m veggie so appreciate the great selectionFriendly service & lots of reminders to ensure you register your car for free parking.We will definitely return

Start with the positives...Popped in yesterday for a bite to eat. I have had food there before and wasn't disappointed this time either. I had the pepperoni pizza which was fantastic, superb light airy base and masses of tasteful topping. It took some eating but I just about managed it. My wife had the fish sandwich which was huge and with the skin on fries, mushy peas a very good value meal.The negative...£7.15 for a pint of their own (brewed there!) Session IPA and half of Moretti is crazy money. The place has a vast array of drinks for every taste I suppose and I could have had something cheaper but the prices are always mentioned on the reviews of this place. Last weekend I visited Banyan's in Ilkley and the same pint was on an all-day, everyday offer with other drinks for £3.50 a pint. I dread to think what the wine prices are at Salts for what will clearly be £3-4 cash and carry wine. To finish on a positive, a nice lunch in a place which is always very clean and tidy with very pleasant staff. Keep up the good work on the food....just bring the good beer prices down and you're home free!!Thanks..

Visited The Salt Kitchen and Brewery on the 27th January and was very impressed with everything from the welcome from Wendy and the range of ales. The building is amazing an old tramshed conversion will certainly visit again.

I parked here at the end of December 2019 to have lunch with my family but was charged £100 as a penalty. I’ve never seen a restaurant that charges a penalty to a customer who arrives by car.

Good food, nice atmosphere. Came here with a friend for a pre Christmas lunch. I ordered the fish pie with roasted vegetables. He chose the fish and chips with mushy peas. Both dishes came piping hot, the fish dish was huge! Nice friendly service. Just make sure you check your car in at the bar as the car park is run by a vigilant car parking company now!!

Went for Christmas Eve lunch with all the family. Everyone enjoyed the space, the menu choices and the friendly service. We all had a lovely meal and it certainly got Christmas off to a great start.

Choose to go out on bowing day rather than Christmas Day and proved to be a good decision both for cost and menu choices one point to make to make is meal sizes were bigger than expected and if your not to hungry don't order a starter but having said that both food and service were excellent

Don't go! You spend a lot of your hard earned cash and then they stab you in the back with parking fine for £100 for parking in their car park!! Absolute disgrace, who does that? Scamming customers!!!

Regularly I meet friends who travel from Lancashire to all meet at this bar. Their own made craft beers are great. The car parking arrangement managed by Parking Eye (of Chorley, Lancashire) is NOT. I have ALWAYS used this car park at the rear and happy to pay their high prices for well made craft beer like ‘Jute’. To receive a fine by letter of ‘pay now £60’ (or else £100 if not paid with 28) is not a pat on the back for patronising a pub. What pub penalises you parking in their car and uses Parking Eye? Fortunately I have paid by Apple Pay. This is a retrogressive anti-patronising activity in my view and needs Salts Brewery/Ossett Brewery to think again otherwise other options/pubs are available!

Been here many times with friends. This time noticed a small tablet on the bar asking you to register your Number Plate if you park there. No mention from the Door staff or Bar Staff about this APPARENT NEW SYSTEM!!! . No mention that this is a MUST DO OR ELSE YOU WILL BE FINED!!! GUESS WHAT IF YOU DON’T IT WILL COST YOU £100. Some of you will see this post and say fool. When you’ve been going somewhere for years and they change the rules, why would any business that needs customers not TELL them?

My family and I have thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the location. This place is truly something. Keep up the good work. We flew in from China, Indonesia and Germany to meet, and this venue was our first choice.

We was served by a lovely lady who was called caroline, who recommended all the drinks to us, as we couldnt decide. I had the pizza and omg we will deffinetley be back again thank you caroline for making our visit exceptional

Visited last week, 5 of us in total. Great surroundings, great atmosphere and good food. Staff very friendly. In particular Caroline behind the bar. Good sense of humour , very witty.She was quick to remind me of the car parking registration. Not so sure I am a fan of this .

I don't often leave reviews, however our experience at Salt bar and kitchen was excellent and must be shared! The menu has a lot of choice including during the early bird as everything on the menu is included at a price that we felt was good value for menu. The food is presented beautifully and looks like it is much more expensive than it is. I had pork belly while my wife had the duck and we were both very pleased - delicious. Service was fast and all the staff were attentive and friendly without pestering. Special thanks to Nathan who was very welcome and excellent at his job of overseeing the restaurant. We overheard him sorting out a problem for customers and they were very happy with how he dealt with it. At the bar there is a good selection of beers including local ones from Saltaire which was lovely to see. The decor is beautiful after the refurbishment and has a cosy feel despite it being large and spacious.

Delicious food, particularly the Sunday roast and pizza, great atmosphere and very good service from Fredericka.

Visited with a friend and had a couple of pizzas, very nice and good value for money. My friend had never been before and was asking about the beer factory side and the products, we was given tasters and settled on Jute, very nice. As it wasn't open, the lady who served us, Caroline, offered to take some photos for him, she also said she would show us round but we didn't want to impose on her time any more than we had. Excellent service and great venue, would highly recommend

We made a good choice to have lunch here. Food was very reasonable and, when it came, there was plenty of it, home made, fresh and hot.

First time visiting Salt bar and kitchen last week, the staff were very welcoming, especially a girl called Megan who served a group of us and suggested a number of drinks even though she had just started as she said! Would definitely come again as food and service was fantastic!

This place is becoming one of our favourite dining out treats. There's such a nice atmosphere in the place and it's surprising at the different age range of people in there. The food has always been of a high standard and great value for money. The staff are smiling and attentive and friendly. All being well we'll get another meal there before the end of October but we can only recommend this place and haven't yet had anything but happy times here.

Basic meal a little overpriced but good quality. Nice friendly serving staff. Good quick service. We went at 6 30 without booking and got a table with no trouble.

The food was lovely but took for ever to arrive as the service incredibly slow! Everything took forever as there was no staff about!

Let me start with the positives, it's a really great building, it's been done out nicely and is certainly an interesting place to go for a few drinks as the beer selection is good. My daughter liked her fish and chips, however she is only three so I'm not sure how reliable her tastebuds are just yet. The staff were all friendly, and helpful. Having said that we were completely forgotten about once our food had been served and had to go downstairs to look for someone, no one asked if we would like dessert so we just paid the bill and left.

I did not know that you had to pay to eat/drink when giving business to the eatery. I did not notice sign, I was there after 8pm, so it was dark. I have been fined £100, I did not receive a reminder like they said they had sent, so could not even pay the reduced fee if £60.will never go there again

Called in as a couple, first time since the re-furb. At first look the smaller choices appear expensive for what seem to be large snacks but our food was great, the drinks were Leeds bar prices and we are ok with that, after all the place has had a lot of investment. I wish I could recall the name of the blonde serve, she was very good indeed.

Our family consisting of Holly and Jack and respective partners and our two grand children had a lovely meal and drinks tonight... The service was excellent and quality of food and drink brilliant... Thank you Roy and Mary x

Came with a group for lunch. Ordered the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap. Everyone else's food came but mine. The waitress went to check and said it was coming, just needed a few minutes more than the rest! Several minutes later and no sign i asked another waitress who then found out that my order had been overlooked. I complained as my group were halfway to finishing their meal and some had even finished!! The first waitress had obviously lied to me. The second waitress said she would get the manager but he/she never came over either.

We didn't eat in here so can't comment on the food. It's a really nice open bar with smiling bar staff. Music just at the right volume whereby you can still have a conversation. Very pleasant door staff with huge outside seating area. I'd find it hard to believe you couldn't have a good time here.

Very overpriced, overhyped place.

Met friends for lunch. Great choice of food had fish and chips which were delicious. It was difficult to choose due to a varied choice was tempted by the wood oven pizzas too.

This wasn’t a great dining experience. Very noisy pub and not really a good restaurant ambience - DJ belting out hits past and present doesn’t make conversation easy. The pizzas which are the mainstay of the menu taste ok but have the appearance of being pre-prepared off-site, reinforced by the quite awful polystyrene base on which they are served. I can put up with a plastic base to my food at a concert or something similar but if you are charging restaurant prices then I think the least you can expect is a proper plate. In fairness the staff tried hard, but this wasn’t a repeatable event.

I hadn't used this place for years. I was back visiting the area and me my 2 sisters there for drinks and dinner. A great choice. Good menu (2 courses for £15 before 7pm), great atmosphere and food! Most of all, great service from the personable Sammy and her hard working staff! Highly recommended!

was meeting family over from Australia, around 30 of us over period of time 3:30-7pm. Arrived 7:05 with daughter and 2 grandsons only to be told children were not allowed after 7pm. Sent them outside to sit quietly at a table, it was a lovely evening. Then told the children were not even allowed to sit outside. Ended up sitting over the road on the wall. One drink and we took the whole party over the road to the Ross where we were given a friendlier welcome. Boys,sat at tables outside and even ordered Pizza which was delicious.
