Used to visit regularly before it closed. Only just found out it had reopened. Impressed by new layout. Meal was tasty & a good portion size. Note: if you must sell Strongbow please stock some Magners or Bulmers in bottles.

Lunch with my husband and son to celebrate the latter's birthday. Clean plates all round. Good, unpretentious and very reasonably priced food. Relaxed atmosphere. Very clean. Staff were lovely: cheerful, courteous and friendly. Service was also speedy. Warmly recommended and thank you everyone for your efforts.

Popped in after a walk on the railway trail nearby. Very nice outside, looked like the building itself had been recently renovated. No trouble getting a table, drinks order taken quickly. Nice choice of items on the menu and very reasonably priced. Kids raved about the lasagne and the chicken burger. Food as very good with treat service. Would happily come back! 👍👍👍👍👍👍

It's the first time I have visited the George the politeness of the bar staff was very good, cleanliness of the pub was perfect toilets immaculate. The food and quality of drinks were good will definitely visit again when passing seeing as I live in Baildon, keep up the good work.

Not a bad word to say about this place. Me and my husband came for food at around 1pm on a busy Sunday. Everything from the beef to the cabbage were cooked beautifully. I would recommend this place to anyone. Amazing bar/restaurant. And amazing service. Keep up the good work guys

I recently visited The George Pub in Bradford and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy yet lively vibe that makes you feel right at home. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every guest feels welcome. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, all of which are delicious and served with generous portions. Lovely place to stop by for a pint, they have a great selection of ales and lagers. Staff are amazing and all very professional, I would highly recommend for anybody passing by or staying in the local area.

I went here with a few friends for food and a drink. The pub is full of atmosphere, which in my recent experience is sadly lacking in a lot of pubs these days. The car park was full, which is testimony to its popularity. The reason I've dropped one star is because of the food. It was tasty and reasonably priced but when my special pie arrived lacking peas there was no explanation and no suggestion of not paying for them. When I queried this I was simply told they had run out! I then had to enquire about alternatives. There followed some back and forth by the waitress before some more peas were "found". Overall it was a good wholesome experience and I would definitely visit again.

DISAPPOINTING, our 2nd visit since it reopened 5.30pm on a Sunday it was busy but with lots of tables available and we has the room near the door to ourselves. We ordered 2 pie,chips,seasonal veg and gravy. The pastry was undercooked, soggy and dreadful, the filling was very tasty but the chicken pieces were dry and overcooked, peas are not seasonal in January, chips were overcooked and there wasn't any gravy. Such a shame that they couldn't get such a basic meal right especially when it took 35 minutes to come. Real shame as our first visit was great.

2nd time of eating there since it reopened. The first time was bad and thought that it needed another go. Thrre was 4 adults and 2 children. I ordered gammon, which they didn't have so opted for large yorkshire pudding with mash beef and peas. My husband ordered nachos with chilli and my son,scampi. My food arrived cold my husbands was incinerated and without any chilli and the scampi was burnt. I asked for the chilli and for my food to be warmed up. Approx 20 minutes later the stodge of chilli arrived and the yorkshire which I couldn't cut with a knife. To be fair because of the wait they offered a complimentary dessert. The meals was inedible and was left. The pub refurb is brilliant and.love the atmosphere but unfortunately will not be eating there again.

Just had yet another fabulous Sunday Lunch. The roast beef was delicious, excellent service too👏. Highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed.

I went with my wife and family for my granddaughter’s birthday really good food

First visit with my husband since the refurb, we visited fairly regularly before and always enjoyed it. The decor and refurb is top spec and beautiful however, I felt it was lovely before in a different way - it felt more like a quirky, village local pub, now it feels a bit more like an impersonal bar. We tried to get a table on arrival and think the bar lady misunderstood as she said we should find our own, pointing to the non-dining tables. Then when I pointed to the empty tables in the dining area and asked if we could choose one she asked "will you be having food?"... I've never known anyone ask at a bar for a table for drinks! Our food order was taken promptly and the food was served quickly. I really enjoyed the sirloin steak which was really juicy, the tasty mushrooms and peas with the steak, and the perfect halloumi fries. The tomatoes were a little overcooked. My husband enjoyed his burger but said it wasn't anything special - having tried my steak he said he'd get that next time. He felt his chips were a tad undercooked. I think the menu could be improved e.g. by including starters. Our visit was amazingly good value. Overall a very good visit which could be a little improved.

The bar's nice and the bar staff are friendly but very disappointed by the food. I ordered a rare sirloin steak - charged at upwards of £15 - and recieved a small, practically well done steak that I'd expect to pay £5 for at weatherspoons. I looked to complain but the lass serving couldn't get away quick enough. The rest of the table were similarly disappointed with bland dishes, several of which appeared to have been microwaved (badly). Despite having been asked to give our orders days prior to the meal, my son did not receive his order. The staff were apologetic and offered him a free dessert but, man, if you're paying good money to go out and enjoy a meal, I feel the overall quality of food and service was a bit of an insult. I'd have been embarrassed to serve it.

Salimos a las 21.45 horas, ya que la música para nosotros era incómodamente alta. Se supone que es música de fondo, no música de ahogo. Íbamos a quedarnos hasta las 23:00 horas. Aparte del muzak es un buen pub, el personal es muy amable y trabajador. Las comidas son típicas del pub. Sería bueno si tuviera su propio menú en un intento de atraer a la gente de Keighley para venir a comer.

Beautiful surroundings lovely staff fab food

First visit to the refurbished George. Really enjoyed our time there. We both had food which was very good value for money. The only negative was the limited choice of lagers available. The pub was comfortable & bright. The toilets, which are now situated upstairs, are a huge improvement on the previous ones which were situated downstairs. Will definitely return very soon.

First time here . Had food and would call again. If I/we were having just a drink i would suggest you need more lounge space. Much more comfortable.

As there was 8 of us we had to pre-book our meals which I wasn't really happy about but it turned out fine as we did not have to wait long for them and everyone was okay with it and the meals were very good, it's a really lovely place now so thank you

The fresh new layout is really good, feels like a City Bar not a village pub. We had a Sunday Lunch and it was top class. Loads of choice at the bar with three real ales on. Toilets very modern and clean.

Since re opening this has become my regular! A very clean modern pub with a great atmosphere. The staff are absolutely amazing. Issy in particular is very professional and friendly towards all customers and is a credit to the pub. It’s a must visit if you haven’t been yet!

Had a lovely family meal, including choices for an eight year old and someone who was gluten free. Great atmosphere and quality food at a reasonable price. Good choice of gins too!!! Staff very warm and welcoming. We shall be back.

What a shame, was really looking forward to the pub at the heart of the village reopening but it is a real disappointment. The village pub feel has gone, it could be in the middle of a city centre and was just like a Wetherspoons. The menu is very basic, and two items were unavailable, reducing the choice even more The chicken fajitas were like nothing I have seen before, no onions or peppers and only one wrap! There are no specials, no starters and limited deserts. We hope things improve quickly, we were regular diners at the old George pub, but will not be in a rush to go back to this one.

Brilliant atmosphere polite staff and wonderful food

It is my birthday, a tender 51. Had a great meal, cosy atmosphere, the sharing nachos with pulled pork as a starter are stunnng. Main meal fabulous, portion size not over facing. One of the best aspects of the meal, was the delightful, welcoming and smile of Issy, a lovely young lady, who looked after both my fiance and I brilliantly. Our new favorite place! We ate here tonight with a baby and toddler, one with a food allergy. Izzy was the most attentive, lovely waitress we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Eating out as a family can be a challenge at times but she went above and beyond to make it a really enjoyable experience. What an asset she is!! The food was fantastic, we all really enjoyed it and having vegan ice cream for my boys was incredible. Thank you from your new regulars :)

Steak and ale pie 5*. Plenty of gravy which is always good. Not sure if the sides were a bit of a let down because I arrived late and had my meal left keeping warm. I think the oven chips could be better quality. Always a let down when Heinz & HP sauces aren't available. Renovation are fab. Being a gin drinker I'd like to see a better selection.

This has been recently renovated and it is beautiful, food and drinks at a good price as well. A really lovely place.

I’m so happy The George has reopened in our village! The new owner has absolutely nailed it! The interior is stunning along with a great menu, staff and atmosphere. It’s about time we had a local we can be proud of.

They have done a great job with the renovations ,it's smart but cosy The food is classic pub grub ,prices are very reasonable and portions are good ,it's a great place for lunch or tea rather than a romantic meal but I'm sure it will be very popular

Staff turned lights down. Difficult to read menu! Veg Chilli on a plate with chips and salad garnish- just wish chilli had been in a bowl and could have been warmed through more. Otherwise great.

The surroundings are very pleasant, the food was good but we had an hour waiting time, some of the staff were immature and it took three of them to take our food order. Hopefully just teething problems, we will return and wish you all the best

I’ve been a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed each occasion. Not tried the food yet but have heard good things and it won’t be long until my daughter & I call in for a meal. Keep up the great work.

It has had a fab makeover, very swish. Cannot comment on the food as we only had drinks but what I saw looked well presented. The drinks are a bit pricy for a village pub, nearly £6.00 for a pint of Cruz Campo, which is brewed by Heineken in Manchester! Taking the proverbial at that price.

Superb complete rebuild of the pub interior, but food offering is sadly now just standard 'pub grub' rather than the excellent fresh food choice which the pub previously provided.

Great to have the George open again and a fantastic renovation! A city centre vibe in the pub adds to the great atmosphere. Definitely a local to visit from now on. Not had food yet but looks delicious and great feedback from those who have.

Ok so, what you all need to know is that this has just reopened after extensive refurbishment from top to bottom by new owners. Every other review prior to this one is essentially null and void as it is really a "new" pub. From the moment I walked in I could see the changes and how welcoming the decor and furnishings were. Lovely armchairs by the fireplace, comfortable seats at the tables and a really pleasant vibe from the patrons. The food was excellent and whilst there was a little bit of confusion around my food order, it was efficiently sorted without question. Finally, the staff. There were 3 people front of house, Paula, Luka and Karis(apologies if I have spelt your names wrong). They are a credit to the place, friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. If you want great service, great food with a good menu in lovely comfortable surroundings then this is the place to be. I couldn't add any photos as the I couldn't get any good shots without violating someone's privacy but I am sure there are plenty on their Facebook page.

Went on steak night. Very good deal for 2 perfectly cooked rumps. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable atmosphere and mixed clientele.

A shadow of the place it used to be. It was like a morgue. Such a shame really but it's the same with many pubs these days

I stopped in to have a drink for my dad who used to drink there when Jack and Winnie Keneally ran the pub well over 50 year’s ago. I was looked after by a couple of young men who were working there while on uni break. They were both so welcoming and friendly making my visit all the more enjoyable. Thank you guys.

My wife and i called in on a Friday evening (12/08/22) for food, only to be told that you did not have a Chef, what? Can you explain the reason why theres no chef and that your site is advertising food? Come back Chris, Joe, Amy, Katie.

Rubbish place.!! Cold chips, cold fish and more like its out of a freezer.! dolmio coated pasta...more like a microwave meal.! Prawn cocktail was warm and served in a desert bowl.! Service was good by one of the waiters but food was terrible. Don't recommend the place.!!!!!

Very poor Saturday night meal. Menu on website different to on the night- changed hands and hadn’t caught up. Very little vegetarian and what came wasn’t nice. The only positive was a pleasant waiter Maybe finding it’s feet if new but I certainly won’t be coming back or recommending . Suggest avoid .

We only stopped off here to warm up after swimming at goit stock waterfall As we found the place by accident we ended up sat here for about 2 hrs talking with staff and other customers This place is so welcoming I also ordered a hot chocolate and was treated to. A few chocolate biscuits to go with it We will visit again if ever in the area and also sample the food next time

Thought we would have a family meal at the George Hotel, arrived at 12.00 and sat outside til 12.15 and pub closed!

All the service staff appeared to be new, and it showed. We sat down and had to ask for menus after 5/6 minutes. For a family of four going to the local pub for dinner we shouldn’t have been there over 2 hours. There was 3 or 4 tables in so not even 1/4 full and they struggled to meet service and the food coming out. Before we ordered, we genuinely had a family conversation about going somewhere else based on needing to ask for menus after arriving for a booked table! It was only the lack of other options that led to us staying. My daughters (12) beef burger was borderline raw in the middle. So much so she didn’t want to finish it. I had half roast chicken which didn’t come with a sauce or marinade of any kind. The result, it was really dry, no moisture at all. I had to smother it in ketchup to be able to eat it. The food here used to be really good, the food service was always slow and I assumed that was due to the menu that used to have 7/8 pages, now it’s a choice of 7/8 items (only 1 vegetarian option). The bar area appeared to be busy for a mid week evening but it’s clear the new owners haven’t got to grips with what was a great local pub for food and drink. I think there is a new chief and maybe the supply chain issues are causing the issues with the menu but I hope they resolve these quickly before it drops all the goodwill the local pub had built up over years.

Visited recently with my husband,son and granddaughter. We haven’t been for a couple of years but we used to really enjoy the food here and we’re really looking forward to going, but what a letdown. We should have realised when the pub was nearly empty inside on a Saturday early evening, when it used to be buzzing. The bar and table staff were very friendly but that was the only real positive. We waited 45 mins for our food and with a toddler that wait was excruciating- she was starving. When we asked how long the food was going to be the waitress checked with the chef who sent apologies but he was v busy and it would be another 5/6 mins. There was only 1 other table eating inside but there may have been a couple outside admittedly but no way was it busy. When the food eventually arrived it was ok but not great and definitely not a patch on previous times. My husband’s pie was pale and the meat was chewy and fatty and my burger was dry. They did give us a free dish of chips to apologise for our wait but we didn’t really want them. Very disappointing visit overall. We will not be going again.

Went for Sunday lunch very disappointed as we had to wait one hour and the food wasn't very good meat was very tough and the vegetables where cold wasn't busy neither. Won't be going back

Really sorry but the new management have taken this formerly great, popular busy food pub down hill. Wednesday Steak Night used to be busy and almost full every week. This week only 3 other tables in for food, a hand full of people at the bar drinking. A pub that when asked to provide a medium steak deliver it just shy of well done has lost its way in my opinion. The service was friendly, the steak night deal is a good deal, but the previously high standards of the previous owners / chef have dropped in recent months.

Soup was cold, my husbands fish was very obviously cooked earlier and then warmed up as the batter was very dark and hard. We will not be going again.

Lovely atmosphere Nd great experience

Went for Sunday lunch and so glad we made the decision to do so, absolutely superb from the Bar staff service, the waitress service and the chef cooking, the food was outstanding.. Brilliant experience and will definitely be going again, thank you everyone involved.

Good quality food, beer was good but almost 50% of the pumps had run out. Apparently taken to another of the pubs in the chain. The food felt like it took an age to arrive, it wasn’t even half full, possibly due to the snow, but if felt it took a lot longer than it should have. I’ll be returning as it’s a good local pub and I’ve never had a bad meal there, they just need to speed up the food from the kitchen, I’d hate to see how slow it would be when really busy.
