Been regularly and very impressed with food and service. The muscles are amazing. However I brought 2 friends on 5th Nov for lunch one guest chose fish and chips. When it arrived I was horrified it looked so uninviting. The batter on fish was over cooked to the point of being burnt. The chips were over cooked and looked as if they had been left in warmer for a long time. I wanted to complain but my polite guest said no its OK but left most off it. I was embarrassed as I had sang praises of this hotel. The other 2 meals were OK. There was a big event going on, we thought a funeral but don't accept bookings if you cannot keep standards.

Long time since my last visit but called in for a beer on passing. Was served by a very professional and welcoming member of staff , nothing was too much trouble for Matt, who also recommended the hand pulled beer. Will call again for a meal, good menu selection, as am quite local. Other pubs should take note of their excellent customer service. Great looking pub inside and out

Only came to enjoy a couple of drinks and relax on a Friday evening after work, but found nothing relaxing about the place . Positives first , lovely setting and beautiful large building with exposed beams and wood . Super size inside and plenty of space for group bookings , plenty of outdoor seating for summer . That’s where it ends unfortunately… Lots of staff behind bar on arrival, but couldn’t get near to order due to so many people sat at the bar on stools, although many seats/ tables available ? I was ignored by staff trying to order so in the end asked my husband to catch the staffs attention , which after a wait they did serve him. Loud , offensive language from a small group of 4 people propping bar up which was a shame , probably wouldn’t have noticed it if they had sat somewhere else. Lots of tables with used cutlery, crockery on , wet tables with spilt drinks, even though there was an army of staff milling around. Most ‘straight from school age ‘ on mobiles and chatting amongst themselves . Second round I sent my husband to bar again and service was quicker , after this we left and walked to the George and dragon, which had a better atmosphere and even ended up eating there . Had the stansfield came across better , we probably would have eaten there , Shame , because this place has the makings of being an absolute gem, but run in the wrong hands ruins it

We recently held my mothers wake at the Stansfield Arms. The team were professional, courteous and very helpful at all times. It was a busy afternoon and the whole team helped make the remembrance even more a celebration. The food was outstanding, particularly the shepherds pie. This was of personal significance as it was one of mums signature dishes and everyone, without exception commented on how delicious it was, asking if it had been made to mums recipe! Who knows, she may have shared it with the chef...! We would highly recommend the venue, for the ambiance, food, drink and rooms (space) available - the team made a huge difference to the day.

A Disappointing Experience Overall Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2 stars) Family of four booked a table for 7 PM on a Sunday evening. We arrived at 6:50 PM and were promptly seated. However, our drinks didn't arrive until 7:30 PM, which was a significant delay. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday evening. While waiting for our drinks, we were shocked to witness a staff member, who appeared to be a manager due to her attire, put her feet up on the table and tie her shoe laces. This behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

We went for an evening meal. We chose the special for that day of the week. As it was Monday, the special was moules and frites, which we both ordered. The food arrived promptly and was of good quality and quantity. However, when myself and my husband tasted our food, the mussels, did not taste right at all. We alerted the waiting staff, who offered us a replacement straight away, they were most apologetic and we were told we could order anything else we wanted on the menu. Our replacement meals arrived quickly and were excellent. When it came to paying g the bill. We were only charged for the mussels, at a lower price. Absolute 5 star service. Well done to the Stansfield. We will definitely be back.

Called in for lunch. The restaurant was very busy and the food looked good. My wife ordered the steak and ale pie whilst I had tiger prawns and calamari in tempura batter. We both had a glass of wine. The food eventually turned up after over half an hour. It was delicious and with the wait. Probably slow due to the number of many other diners . The food was well prepared and hot👍

I’m currently at the Stansfield and have been for just about an hour. This is my 3rd time here and while the ambience is beautiful, the staff as friendly, the wait time and food quality aren’t the best. It took them over 10 min to get me a glass of Chardonnay, so I switched it to a G&T. I ordered scallops as an app and it came out 30 min or so and I’m still waiting on my buddah bowl. In the past I tried their seafood risotto (which was bland) and their chicken/chorizo pie (way too cheesy! Do not recommend). Luckily my partner ordered the steak and ale pie, and the time before that - the Shepards pie. Should you visit, take in the aesthetic and stick to the dishes that are a bit heartier. I think I’d give them four stars if I had gotten my lunch already. Admittedly a bit hangy- so maybe know that there will probably be a wait. The staff is friendly and I did enjoy chatting with them when they stopped by to pet the dog. I just wish a the buddah bowl didn’t take over an hour to make/have.

We’ve been a fair few times over the years and noticed the turnover in staff is really hit and miss. It used to be great and on point Everytime but noticed it decline with its service levels. We sat down and noticed there was a very loud group of people on the mezzanine and two of the men were very loud arguing offering each other to go outside for fights throughout the course of our time there. You could tell they were hammered but they were continued to be served more alcohol at the bar. We weren’t told what the soup of the day / roast or pie of the day were so asked when the waitress came to take our order but should really be the first thing you’re told when you’re sat down which I think we were sat down by the manager….. the starters chorizo and soup were barely warm and we sent the soup back. The mains pie / roasts were lovely foods but the whole experience was ruined by the people upstairs and no one ever said anything to them to calm it down . Wouldn’t be rushing back here

I've never been to the Stansfield Arms before. But straight off the bat, I have to say the staff were great, attentive, and smiling and never in a rush. My Starter was Muscles in a white source, but I like my muscles just plain steamed, which the chef very obligingly did for me. My main course was Steak&Ale Pie, with a choice of green vegetables, beautifully cooked parsnips, served with deep golden brown chips, along with a rich beef gravy. I'd say the chips were the best I've ever eaten. Coming back to the pie, contained in crusty pastry, the steak was tender, no suspicious chewy bits either. The pie was superb. Our experience at the Stansfield Arms was excellent, service and food excellent. We'll certainly be coming here again. Highly recommended.

I can recommend the chirizo sausages followed by the beef hash, whilst my friend was defeated by the impressive looking steak and ale pie, having been softened up by a very tasty broccoli soup. The Stansfield put on a wonderful spread for my late mother‘s wake last month. There are various buffet options to choose from depending on the price per head you wish to go with. There’s lots of delicious options like mini roast beef Yorkshire puddings, chicken and/or mushroom vol au vents, individual pork or other meat filled pies, potato and pasta salads and not just sandwiches. I was able to swap out items to suit our needs. For instance I swapped out one of the savoury options for a sweet choice which the pub are more than happy to do for you. For the price paid our buffet was excellent value for money. The food really was of high quality, very generous in quantity and so many of our party commented on how delicious it all tasted. Any leftovers can be stored in their fridge until you’re ready to leave and taken home in takeaway containers. We were allocated the raised seating area at the far end of the pub which gave us plenty of space to chat and mingle between our party. The pub has a warm atmosphere and was the perfect place to celebrate my mother’s life. There’s plenty of parking available and it’s well located in between Leeds and Bradford. It was the top choice for us as we already knew first hand that the Stansfield had an excellent reputation and my parents loved their regular visits to the pub for many years. I can’t recommend The Stansfield highly enough as their hospitality is of the highest standard. They went above and beyond to ensure all our catering needs were more than fully met and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much Matthew, Nick, Paul and all the staff who did our family and friends proud on the day xx

Four of us chose Roast beef, when it came it was rare (not a problem) and looked nice 2 big pieces but we were all unable to cut it (with steak knife) never mind trying to eat it as it was tuff as old boots. After complaining we were told we would not have to pay for our deserts which we accepted. Upon receiving the bill they had taken £8 pound off altogether! So basically we paid £18 for a plate of potato’s n veg 2 hard roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding 1 carrot, and 1 mange tout!

The only thing that marrred the occasion was the fact that the restaurant had raised its usual prices by nearly 50% because it was Mothers Day. My experience at the Stansfield with my daughter for a ploughman's lunch which we had been looking forward to all weekend was not what we expected. The ploughman's came with most of the items but not the most important items on the menu. No pork pies , no piccadilly and no beetroot. So called the waitress over and explained about these items missing, lovely lady said sorry and went to get the items . Then the small pork pies came that look like they had got them Aldi, they didn't have Piccadilly or beetroot. The ploughman's plater isn't worth the money. Sorry Stansfield but Yorkshire is well known for ploughman's with homemade pork pies 🥺

It’s had a bit of a refurb inside, and there are a few leas tables which makes for it feeling more open and spacious even when busy. Less noisy and frenetic whilst maintaining the lovely atmosphere of the original 16thC barn. The staff seem professionally up to standard once again (even the really young staff) and are polite, attentive and smartly turned out. We had 3 courses- Skagen toast starters, then husband had Sunday lunch which he says was very tasty with plenty of meat and delicious gravy, I had the Tacos which were tasty and extremely generous in portion size, so much so that the Parmesan truffle fries have come home in a doggy bag with me! Speaking of which the pub was also full of wonderful doggos sat on little specially made mats -traditional stone flagged floor, bit cold in winter! - I wanted to stroke them all! So deffo dog friendly. We finished with dessert - apple crumble with oodles of custard and generous sized creme brûlée. These are Yorkshire portions and I’m glad of it. Good value at £60 for 2x 3 course meals and 3 pints. Am very happy to see our local back up to standard again, don’t quite know what happened during the late 2010’s but anyway that’s the past. Highly recommend for hearty pub food in a lovely setting. Will be back!

I really enjoyed Sunday dinner at the Stanfield Arms. It's been a few years since I've last been in and it really didn't disappoint. The key thing for me was it was dog friendly (loads of dogs in the bar area!) and they had quite a few vegan options (including Sunday dinner!). A decent beer selection (although nothing special) and the service was top class. Good value for money as well so definitely worth the visit.

Don't know what's happened to this once busy enjoyable place but it's really gone downhill. Visited with a friend who was here for 3 days from overseas so a good catch up with the girls was needed. Food was really expensive and only bogof standard. Nothing special at all. Friday evening and landlord states at 10.30 last orders. No other customers in, there was 7 of us drinking quite alot. Asked him what time they close he quite arrogantly said "I'll be closing the doors at 11pm" 2 years ago they were bursting at the seams and didn't leave til gone 12. Unhappy staff and a very obnoxious manager/landlord. No wonder pubs are closing down. Won't be returning.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had within the hospitality sector. Felt unwelcome from the moment we walked in. 1hrs 30 minutes for 3 small brunch dishes. Within this time we were not offered a second drink (money lost on your behalf), we waited an hour for our food, which in my opinion is a ridiculously long wait for egg based brunch dishes & pancakes for our little boy. Felt like we were poorly treated and not even thanked by the owner as we left visibly passed him as we said bye. Rude staff, terrible service & bang average brunch. Will not be coming again and will certainly not be recommending to friends or foe.

Ate today had the best breakfast was well presented and hot the only item that let it down for all 5 of us was the coffee it was so weak it wasn’t worth picking the cup up and for £3.50 I would be embarrassed to serve it All in all a lovely treat

The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The burgers were delicious and cooked perfectly. Well worth the money. Would definitely recommend them. Both worth trying you just have to decide which one.

We booked the q suite for our evening wedding party. It was absolutely fantastic, from preparation and communication with the events staff to the actual event I can't fault any of it. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the dj was good and the decoration was just as I wanted..... Fantastic......
