Ordered 2 meals with 2 cokes 1 meal came and other one didn’t and the cokes never appeared on my table. Shite! Absolutely shocking 😤

This place has a lot of potential, and after our usual quiz moved from its previous location to this new venue, I can already see how great it could be. The location is excellent (although a quick sweep of the glass in the car park would make it even better). I really want to love this pub, and while the food I had this evening wasn't quite what I was hoping for, the prices were very reasonable. The staff were all friendly, and there were just a couple of moments where there seemed to be a bit of confusion. For instance, a bar tab was set up for us despite the fact that we'd already paid for our food, but my friend quickly sorted that out. The wait for our pizza was a bit longer than expected – just over an hour. We were never informed about the wait time before placing our order, which would have been helpful to know upfront. When we checked in, we were told the wait was due to a backlog, which is completely understandable, though it would have been nice to have more communication about this from the start. The kitchen had to stop taking orders for a short while due to the busyness, which was understandable, though my friend was a bit surprised when they weren’t able to order an extra bowl of chips. It’s possible it was just a busy night or a bit of understaffing, but we totally understand. All in all, I’m sharing these thoughts with the hope that they help, as we’ll definitely be back and are excited to become regular Tuesday patrons. I’ll chalk this evening up to a few teething issues, especially considering it’s only the second week of the quiz. It’s fantastic to see the quiz bringing more people into this newly reopened pub, and I’m really looking forward to seeing it all develop! Wishing you all the best! ❤️

Came for the quiz at it's new venue, good atmosphere and pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! Very happy with the overall experience and an excellent new spot for the quiz night. :)

This is my regular pub, I have been coming to the Lupset for over 30 years, I have seen owners come and go, Gemma and her staff can't do enough for their customers, this is a family orientated pub, with lots of entertainment to suit all sorts of people's interest. In my opinion this is the best pub around this area, I have read the negative reviews and personally think this is because people get too drunk and carry on when asked to leave, after all this is a family pub. Gemma and staff, you are doing an amazing job. Keep doing what you do.

Visited on Tuesday for the first quiz night that started at 7.30pm. We arrived deliberately early so we could eat prior to the quiz starting. I had the yorkshire pudding wrap which was delicious. My husband had the loaded fries which he also said was very nice. The staff are lovely and more than happy to help. The food is home cooked and clearly cooked to order so does take a little while to come out in comparison to chain restaurants that zap the food in microwaves. Overall experience of The Lupset I give it 5 star all round. The quiz was the first one of I hope to be many more, it's good fun.

Went in last night with some friends and while I was stood at the bar waiting to be served, I saw what seemed to be the manager pull a young staff member aside and within earshot, berated her for something that could've easily been avoided if communication was maintained properly between the kitchen and the front of house. Personally, I think that to be quite awful to do in earshot of customers. Especially when the member of staff was in near tears afterwards. Definitely ruined the night for me and it was a massive letdown when I’ve only recently started coming here. I hope it doesn’t happen again and that the staff in question is okay.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The service on Tuesday evening was completely disorganized, and the manager seemed to have lost control. I ordered fish and chips, but what I received was disappointing—much smaller and far less appetizing than what I had just a few days prior. When I raised my concern with the manager, he insisted that this was the standard portion, even though my previous order had been noticeably better. A waitress later came to apologise, which I appreciated, as I understand that kitchens can sometimes get overwhelmed. However, when I asked if a small goodwill gesture, like a pint, could help resolve the issue, the waitress agreed—but the manager refused, seemingly more focused on proving a point than addressing the customer’s concern. It’s a shame because we only recently discovered this place, and it’s so close to home. We were hoping to become regulars, but after this experience, we won’t be returning

Came here to attend the wake of a dear friend. Despite the solemn occasion the staff did everything they could to look after everyone. We were a large crowd descending on the pub all at once, but they coped admirably. Great pub, great atmosphere, great staff, highly recommended.

We have had a few meals in the new lupset now , and each time we have been the food was amazing staff friendly . I am glad to have a little gem on the doorstep. Just keep doing what your doing 🥇

Went for a meal this evening..a large party of 18..service was fantastic..food was excellent..chunky chips are amazing and if you are an onion ring fan you must try these!!..all the food was delicious 😋

been in this evening (boxing day 2024) for an absolutely awsom meal. im very picky with my food but the mixed grill was cooked to absolute perfection , very rare i find a place that cooks every type of meat to that melt in your mouth finish but they had it nailed. the staff were ever so polite and friendly from the minute we stepped inside . this place has changed do much since the last owners , i dont normally write reviews so this is a first, i would deffinately recommend the food service and friendly attitude to anyone thinking of trying this place out , 5 stars from me 😊😋

Not a bad pub. Staff are all friendly enough. The only problem I had was the area we were sat in smelled of damp/mould. My clothes were stinking when I got home. No option to move from the area as we were attending a party.

Food was delicious. Mixed grill was huge for the price and the steak on it was cooked to perfection.

We came to all eat together as a family as it was a birthday. Shame we had all eaten apart from 2 adults who hadn't received any food. Poor excuse saying it was from new menu. We left as didn't feel appropriate waiting.

Just visited to try the new menu and it was amazing. The chips are incredible and the new onion bhaji's are better than from an Indian takeaway. The service was lovely as always. Can't wait to come back and try something else from the new menu.

Came for dinner tonight as a last minute booking for a party of 19! The new owner couldn't have been more accomodating. Service was great and the food was amazing, definitely recommend the 'dirty chicken' Looking forward to coming back 😀

First time visiting today for food. Absolutely delicious. Nice spacious place with extremely friendly, welcoming staff. Will definitely be making this a regular place to eat.

The chef must have dropped the salt pot in my beef and ale pie. Maybe a one off. Maybe I should have sent it back. To be fair, the chicken sizzlers that one of my party looked awesome.

Food arrived an hour after ordering. One order was wrong and had to be redone. toilets are broken with no locks. Manager refused to talk to us directly, meaning the general staff took the flack. No refund offered on the wrong order. In response to the owners reply - no we didn't order the wrong meal. your staff admitted to putting the order through wrong.

What an absolute disgrace! We sat down and we ordered food with one meal coming out just after 15 minutes yet the other meals did not come out for another 45 minutes! When they did eventually come out one of the meals was wrong! And the guy did admit that he did get it wrong which was fine as he admitted! However we had already been waiting a long time we had to so for cutlery they gave us the meals but no cutlery?? They then said that we would get the meal that was the right one for free but wasn’t really free when we had paid for something we didn’t even order! Refused to give us any sort of compensation the manager refused to come out and talk to us I asked to speak with them and got told no? They had a bunch of rowdy rugby players in which was way over the top with the noise level! Baring in mind they all had seen we had a 4 month old baby with us! This was supposed to be a nice meal out for my birthday which has now been ruined!! The replacement meal was cold and has since made me feel sick… absolutely diabolical if they know it was going to be busy more chefs and more staff should have been brought in to be able to cope with all the extra orders! And you shouldn’t have to book to get priority it should be as the orders come in absolute joke! We won’t be returning which is a shame because it was really nice back in November when I had my baby shower! What a let down 😞

6 people for lunch. 2 served, 10 minutes later 3 served. The last one served nearly 15 minutes after that. Food good just the waiting for meal took too long.

Just a flying visit, the food looked excellent the atmosphere, the Grand National was on, was really good. We'll be back for a longer stay.

Just passing through and was looking for somewhere to eat. We got two meals for £16. I was expecting a smaller portion but to be honest they were big! I couldn't eat it all. It was delicious and I would eat there again. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Fabulous meal had the dirty chicken today. Been a few times and never been disappointed with the food and service. Pity it isn't busier as this is a lovely place.

Thought was a bit dear 5.25 for half larger an a lime an lemonade god them meal was wrong they was only on a small menu but came wrong chips.were seasoned in salt pepper seasoning which I shouldn't have salt so not best for me

Went to the Easter garden party was waiting over an and half food. Was heaving and went to ask about food and said the chicken tenders had already come out. And the cheese burger hadnt been made yet and got told would be another half hour i said no im not waiting any longer and asked for my full refund back. And said ill do it on this occasion i will definitely not be going back which i had to fight to get a refund back

Amazing food and super friendly staff, they have a nice menu that has specials that change daily. Sunday roast wasn't amazing but everything else was delicious! I would definitely return.

Just been for lunch with my 2 friends at 'The Lupset' pub. The food was lovely, I had steak pie and chips which was bang on. Was looking forward to trying Tuesday evening, which is Thai Night and has good reviews. We were also planning on going for another meal there and to go to their tribute nights. Anyway, here's where the story starts... We ordered 4 puddings. 2 cheesecake slices to eat in, 1 crumble to eat in, A choc cake slice to take away. We waited 25 mins for these and had a lovely waitress come over and apologise that they would be another 5-10 mins which was fine. Another 15 mins went by and we were on a time limit (childcare) so we went to the bar and apologised to the waitress and said we would have to go without the puddings. She was lovely, I quickly nipped to the toilet whilst my friend was about to pay for hers, I came back out and the manager was stood on the customers side of the bar next to my friends, looking at them like dirt and with massive attitude. I heard " well how long do YOU think a hot pudding should take?" I stopped her there as I could tell by my friends mortified faces that she had been out or order with them both. I said to her that you can't talk to people like that! There was no apology on the time it had taken for the desserts, 0 customer service skills shown. She continued on, she said you can't leave without paying for the puddings... the ones that we haven't even got 🤣🤣 I said that we have no issue paying for the food and drink in FULL and it was lovely. But it had taken so long for the puddings that we had to go now. She said we weren't allowed to leave without paying for the puddings and that she would get them put them in a takeout container for us all?! We said we didnt want them now, we came out to eat, not to take them home. But she didnt give us a choice. She refused to knock them off the bill and to forget about them. She refused even a discount if we did take them in a container home. We wasn't allowed to pay for anything we had consumed, she wouldnt let the staff work the till. So we was just stood at the bar llike trio of melons. We didn't want to leave without paying for anything, that's not who we are. Although i felt like walking out. We didn't want any trouble, we wanted to pay for our mains and drinks. The look in her eyes at the time and her stance and attitude seemed she wasnt going to let us go easily anyway 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Me and my 2 friends decided to give her the 20 odd quid for the puddings, and obviously pay in full for the drinks and meals too. It wasn't worth the hassle. She stormed off, was the last we saw of her and the chef (he was lovely) came out 5 mins later, very apologetic and calm with 4 take out containers. I felt so sorry for him. I feel sorry for her staff, if she speaks to 3 customers who have been polite to her and have spent a decent amount of £ in her pub, imagine how she speaks to her staff 😬😬😬 Hopefully she sees this and it is a learning opportunity to better her customer service skills. Maybe there is something happening in her life which made her react this way and if there is then I genuinely hope that she is ok but its not acceptable to speak to individuals in the way that she did. Sadly we won't be returning even though we enjoyed the mains.

What a transformation this pub has had with the new manager & owners (Mustard Pubs ) There’s plenty of choice on the menu including veggie. We’ve visited quite a few times as a family in 2024 as the food has all been delicious freshly cooked and plenty full. Check out Mustards loyalty scheme too. Highly recommend and the new manager is great 🙌🏼

Arrived for the quiz on a Tuesday but it wasn’t on as there weren’t enough teams which is a shame, but we stayed for food which was delicious! The Thai specials are really good and authentic, and only available on Tuesdays, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Plenty of parking outside too.

I went to the lupset with my family and friends for my 60th birthday on the 23rd it was a great night the food is amazing and there was a tribute act on he was good thankyou Paul.

Fantastic home cooked Sunday Lunch and the staff couldn't do anymore for us. Very good value for money and delicious. Management are doing a great job of turning the reputation of The Lupset around.

Called in on Sunday night for the last food orders… The food was still absolutely beautiful and the gravy was out of this world … Staff absolutely lovely… Shame I hade to eat a lovely meal while having no choice but to watch the man united match but never mind the gravy made up for this … thank you!

Lovely pub to.go to, nothing like it used to be Food is great here the staff is lovely too, atmosphere is lovely too great for families aswel. Please give this place a try if you haven't already you will not be disappointed.

Went Sunday 3rd of December for a family meal, 13 adults, 3 children, food was lovely, everyone enjoyed, great price,very friendly and helpful staff, we will be back and can highly recommend, thank you for a great few hours

Met with a few biking colleague's had a steak & mushroom pie with chips and peas, well the chips were huge slices of potatoes with skins on all very nice with a rich dark gravey will have again.

What can I say! The welcome we got for our first visit was lovely, and we cannot wait to return....definitely a Wednesday to Saturday to feed the family next time! Went here for the Halloween party which turned out to consist of trying to wrap yourself in toilet paper to be a mummy and well that it plus a buffet which was decent, don't advertise a Halloween party if it isn't one. We came early to eat before it started and the food is pretty good, service is ok. We had a birthday meal here a few weeks ago too and it was for 20 people so we had to let them know what we wanted days in advance which is fine but then they got things wrong and they forgot some of the dishes, all in all the staff and owner don't know what they are doing.

Didn't eat here, but the service was very good. The live band was a little too loud for us but it was a good band. Place was quite full with people appreciating the music.

I can't comment on the food as I haven't eaten there yet. That's only because we don't eat out very often. We keep talking about giving it a go as the menu looks nice. The service has always been good when I have been in, even when really busy. There are lots of live bands, quiz nights, family fun days etc. It's great for a local pub, I really hope it thrives and becomes a focal point of the community like it used to be. I went into labour there during the quiz, in December 1994!

Can't fault the food was perfect fresh ingredients freshly cooked service good. Will definitely return.

Landlady an bar staff havent got a clue on how to treat customers

Lovely members of staff but took a hour and fifteen minutes from getting in to getting food which was horrible i got cold chicken joujons and the salad well think it had been left in fridge for 6 month limp and smelt.

Could not get over the change. Gorgeously redecorated, and the food was fantastic. Will be going again very soon I hope❤️❤️

Called in on an off chance as the pub was advertising Live Music. Sadly only caught the last two songs from the band Deadmanzamp, both were excellent and would have liked to have heard more. Friendly bar staff and good beer. Well worth a visit.

Lupset has gone through so many hands in the last 20 years. After Chris and Mags left it was good for a while and then fell off a cliff. All the wrong clientele and just not a place that you wanted to go to. Glad to say that the newest owners seem to have rectified this and the vibe is a lot more chilled and family friendly. Food could do with a change, perhaps a new menu or something. Staff are very friendly and a good laugh.

Since refurb it has taken on a new life from brilliant entertainment on a weekend to fantastic food 😋

Absolutely lovely family friendly pub with a great atmosphere that does so much for the community! It’s also dog friendly and children are allowed in until late as long as accompanied by an adult. I opened a local dance troupe this year and Gemma the manager has been nothing but amazing. She’s supported us allowing us to fundraise at the pub. She’s doing so much to help bring the community back together. Her and all the staff are brilliant, super friendly, the customer service is amazing. The food is absolutely beautiful, freshly cooked, can’t recommend enough!

Called into the Lupset after hearing new kitchen team on board, what a difference, food amazing, plates nice and warm and service with a smile, they even let me buy a cooked sausage for my pooch. Nothing too much trouble for them will certainly be visiting again sooner rather than later 😀😀. Thankyou for a great afternoon.

Went here after seeing reviews on TripAdvisor. Great food, drinks. Cute toy box for kids to play outside and goalposts. Would definitely visit often if we lived closer!

Went in yesterday afternoon after seeing they have new chefs and the food was great! Very friendly and happy staff which made us feel welcome. We will 100% be coming back to try the new dishes and chef specials that are coming soon.

Went in for the first time over BH weekend with fairly low expectations, but had read an article about the venue so thought I'd try it. Was very pleasantly surprised with the experience. It is a tidy and friendly pub which is good for a quiet drink and has a good real ale offering and reasonable prices. Special thanks to Gemma and her team for the warm welcome which is always gratefully received, I'm a shy guy who lives alone so it's good to know there's somewhere I can go locally to make friends, have a few drinks and a decent night.
