An okay venue with decent enough food and service. Had the Tennessee Burger. Very popular and was almost full at 1130 on a Wednesday morning. Could do with a refurbishment, as a bit grimy.

Evening it was busy but a nice atmosphere meals were good and very reasonable and drink 🍸 as well

This is a decent pub, always busy so although theres no music there's a decent atmosphere. I also love the large selection of beers they have including Leffe Blonde.

The Glassblower is our nearest wetherspoons and we usually go once a week. It's one of the most comfortable wetherspoons and probably one of the smaller ones. There are lots of different areas some with booths and long saddles which make it a bit more cosy. We've never had any complaints about the food it's just typical wetherspoons no better no worse. There is a good sized outdoor seating area and a smaller area for smokers. It is usually clean and tidy but at busy times tables may not be cleared but that's the same as most wetherspoons we've been to. It's generally quiet at night during the week but can be busy Friday and Saturday. During the day can be busy but can usually find a table. There is a car park just a couple of minutes walk away which is free after six o'clock and I believe on Sundays all day. All in all its not a bad place for food or even just for a drink.

Rather tatty wetherspoons. In need of refurbishment which is embarrassing for a major pub chain. New toilet upgrade.

Went in today go in regular waited at the bar whilst the bar person served everyone else not knowing who was next what a joke I won’t be rushing back!

i normally have nothing bad to say about this pub as i visit regularly. however today the server was so rude and blunt. disappointing

It’s a Wetherspoons....the buildings are nice, toilets been revamped, the prices are great, however, unfortunately this brings with it some issues..questionable clientele. The place is so busy that the staff are unable to have eyes everywhere at once, the place could use some security to help out the staff. Within 10 minutes of my arrival I noted a man who was clearly already highly intoxicated, enter the beer garden from the rear to meet his friend. The friend passed him an empty glass and the man proceeded to get out a bottle of cider and fill himself with drinks. I gave the place another chance today, saw two women with a very young child, buy 2 pitchers of cocktails and no food for themselves or the youngster…I thought there was a policy against adults getting drunk with young children..quite worrying that this is being allowed. Then a gang of chavs walked in shouting at the top of their lungs and being generally antisocial, I left as I felt intimidated. The place is like the Wild West and I feel sorry for the staff who can’t/are too afraid to try and control the place. Do better, Wetherspoons!

The food is decent but with the variety of alcoholic refreshments they have on offer plus there decent price you can't really go wrong.

Very busy pub. Food was very tasty but some parts like the chips arrived luke warm...on the hottest day of the year.

Just been here. Had poached eggs they were freezing cold so asked them to warm them up . Then come back with burnt toast and cold eggs so sent them back again . Obviously just put them in microwave that long instead of cooking properly. Cut in to one and exploded in face . Just give up at this point and took back to bar and said the egg had exploded in my face . The bar person barely offered an apology never mind a refund. Absolutely disgusting service and today disgusting food

Its a Witherspoon pub its a town pub don't mean to be rude about the place but hey if I can find any more to say it's this the building used to be a post office architecturally its very nice and the woodwork on the way to the toilets is outstanding

I want to know why children are served at this bar?? Not alcohol but young as 7 acceptable to order drinks and food!!??? Really I thought this was not allowed in pubs?? And running around causing havoc really ruined our evening

Ye, pretty standard Wetherspoon's, just popped in for some scampi to say I had something in me. Noisy kids but that's par for the course!

Coffee and chocolate were tasteless.

Terrible service staff igronant

Got asked to leave while sat in the outside area due to a no dogs policy, may have understood it better if there wasn’t someone already sat there with a Jack Russell in the corner. I understand the concerns but surely the same liability should apply as does in any outdoor public space (eg. Leashes and under control), even checked for signs before but with how big the outdoor area is, didnt think it would be an issue

Not sure how it is for food, but if you like reasonably priced alcohol this is the place for you. It has a wide selection of larger, ale and spirits, large spacious toilets with good privacy and a cracking beer garden.

What more can I say it says what it says on the tin and delivers

Lovely food and staff. But hot drinks arnt hot asked why to be told so no one gets burnt ? So does everyone have warm drinks at home ?

Popped into Castleford on our way home from a weekend break. The Glass Blower was our destination for a breakfast feast. Two traditional breakfasts were ordered, as ever. We sat and waited while slurping down a cup of coffee. And we did slurp as well, the place was dead, who cared? It was opening time and we were first through the door after all. Our breakfast arrived and the strangest thing had happened. The bacon was cold. And not just part cooked cold, I mean cold, very cold. The rest of the food had wildly varying temperatures but in the main managed to attain warm and occasionally hot. The butter was so warm it was virtually liquid. I had to stand mine on the bacon just to solidify it. The bacon managed to keep the actual plates cold while the baked beans stoutly refused to go anywhere near the porky chilliness. The pub itself was OK, comfortable, friendly staff, etc. Perfectly acceptable. The temperature control could do with tweaking a tad however.

Friendly pub, excellent new toilets which were a much needed asset. The manager Sarah is friendly and was made to feel welcome. Five stars from me!

Burger size down to 3 ounces. Only 1 triple burger available, totalling ounces. Prices up, cleanliness of tables nonexistent as always. Currently no toilets inside only cheapest ports loos outside. No hand washing option.

Very busy on a rainy Friday afternoon, had to hover around for a table. Ordering on the app took over 10mins as wifi poor (should've ordered at the empty bar!), food was tasty and had to wait for coffee as the milk had run out, staff a bit rush but all had a smile when chatting 👍

Atmosphere was boisterous due to it being a Friday night and packed. Not for me. But isn't a bad thing.

It was OK for meals. quite busy at the time.

Usual Weatherspoons food. Pretty run down and tatty. We went between 5 -7 pm for meal and drink with friends. The adults only area had several families with small children. And there was a mix of family groups , friends having a drink and occasianal loud groups with the usual bad language. Not a place I use much these days. Bit a place with Weatherspoons reasonable priced food and real ales. Ot is better in beer garden in summer. Disabled toilet could do with some TLC. They got our order wrong, only doing one burger instead of four. Okay for a quick pop in for a quick lunch.at a reasonable price.

As quite frequent customer,the service and the quality of food - in this case the triple bacon cheeseburger for lunch in a packed venue, on Thursday 28 ,was of a very good standard.

Great food choice be it breakfast or main meal and there's a large range of spirits and draft beers, cider and ales. Also very spacious outdoor beer garden and indoor seating area. Staff are really friendly and its great to see them having a laugh now and again with each other.

The food and service is good but the alcoholics sat next to the bar using the disabled toilet and peeing all over the floor in there is disgraceful

My friend and myself both ordered pasta Alfredo and garlic bread. Usually my favourite meal this was horrible. Pasta was stuck together and dried up round edges, had to keep pushing stuck bits to side. Obviously warmed up but still not hot. Garlic bread was well undercooked. How hard is garlic bread to do. Don't know if cook having a bad day, but certainly won't be getting that again.

One of the smaller Wetherspoons pubs, yet service is slow

Usually not too bad but I got food poisoning/started vomiting on the hard shoulder of the motor way after an hour or two from eating here... the waiter gave my plate a funny look up close when serving this which was suspicious, especially seen as the dish was the same as my mates who got his 15 minutes earlier than me....and from the process of reporting this I was basically called a liar unless you go to your doctor's and do a stool to be tested because apparently their temperature was fine when served, no doctors trip just a couple of days in bed.......... anyways I reported this with no intention of gain just simply because kids eat there and vulnerable elderly, will not be going back. They are lucky I have not taken this further as the evidence and their deflective correspondence is not a good look when I compile together the emails receipt photos etc.

One of the best Wetherspoon's we have visited. Great food , great drinks and all at super prices. Nice friendly staff keep the place tidy

I've been to a lot of spoons and this one isnt the best of them staff seem to have a attitude gaming machines couldnt be in worse places obviously had a few cheap pints and that can never be a bad thing

Just been here for breakfast with family. Me and my daughter had traditional breakfast, it had no taste to it and it was all cold. We have had breakfast at other wetherspoons and they have been nice.

Another pub I visit often, service here a little friendlier than its sister venue (Winterseam) however, once again recently price increase and the companies focus on profit over customer satisfaction leaves the weatherspoon brand declining vastly.

Went for the tea tonight ordered curry’s with rice and popadoms. Was absolutely disgusting popadoms swimming in grease garlic nann covered in garlic butter, curry was like a cheap ready meal. Worse meal I’ve ever had last time I will ever order food in there. Used to be good but not anymore!!!

Like all Wetherspoons, prices are somewhat friendly on the hip pocket for food and beverages. They seem to have a trend of placing their toilets upstairs which is the case at The Glass Blower. Food and service is usually good. The atmosphere is mostly peaceful but sometimes impacted by unruly behaviour. I recommend going there at family friendly times of day

I was meeting a friend for a drink and catch up. It was busy but we managed to find seats easily and got served at the bar relatively quickly. And my medium rose with a dash of lemonade was less than 3 quid. I will happily return 😀

Cheap food and alcohol but the food reflects on how cheap it is ,they could do better in my eyes.

Came here over the weekend ordered my son a pizza came out with it not sliced into sections .... my meal was ok but definitely rushed ... whole pub needs doing up very tacky and old fashioned ... bit expensive for what it is won’t be coming again.

I've always loved this place, not the most modern of Wetherspoons but the staff and atmosphere have always been great. Enjoyed many lively evenings and quiet romantic evenings here with my wife. A good sized beer garden as well, it's great in summer.

Typical spoons just not for me there's better

My wife and I visited just on the spur of the moment, we both decided on a regular mixed grill, we were both full and both found it most enjoyable. The price was good, well worth a visit. Check it out.

Me and my family visit on a weekly basis. This visit was awful! The staff didn’t listen even when an order was repeated multiple times, they then proceeded to be extremely rude, their attitude was appalling especially by the manager and change was thrown at us by a new employee. We will do what the manager said and go elsewhere in future. We do not go out, spend money and have a family day out to be treated so disgustingly by people who are meant to be well trained and have great customer service. Super unprofessional

Good choice of real ales. Easier to get served than most wetherspoons. Wish my local in Pontefract was as good
