Went to heywood Arms worst pub i have ever been in poor service warm beer and bottled wines dirty it used to be the best pub in Wakefield for food and drinks as a regular visitor since the new owners it's gone down hill i will never 😢 come here again

Small but nice for a quick pint

..we stayed for two nights on Wedding Day and day before...as a base for our eldest Grandaughter's Wedding on the 6th April...comfortable room,excellent breakfasts evening meal...Amanda on Reception was very helpful and friendly as were all the staff...a very enjoyable stay..and we didn't miss the 'telly'...Several of our Freinds and Family stayed too...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..Thank You...

Went mid week and got to wakey around 1 ish, this was the 1st pub we went into. It was quiet - mid week lunchtime for Bday drinks. Ordered a couple of pints, the barman said our initial choice had had run off and had other beers. Having passed so many pints of Black Sheep back over the bar over the years I was reluctant to try sheep. I am so glad I did - this place keeps the best pint I have had in years. Perfectly kept, perfect temp - then looking around inside it's got quite some character and fire - really nice well kept place, hats off to the cellar man !

Pleasant atmosphere, Cheap booze and kid friendly. Smoking garden out back what more could you want from a local booze.

Absolutely fabulous place to grab a stool and have a giggle around the bar. A real mixture of ages and definitely characters make this pub a brilliant locals pub where everyone is welcome.

El jamón y el pollo tarta, merece una mención especial.La cerveza también era de primera categoría, con un Sam Smith's pub.La pequeña pega es que hacía un calor abrasador calor en el pub y le faltaba ambiente. El ambiente era probablemente debido al edificio tener habitaciones grandes y sin música de fondo.Pero en general lo recomendaría para un almuerzo de fin de semana. causal

Hemos visitado la Harewood Arms unas cuantas veces, y siempre encontrará un nuevo propietario ha tomado. Ha habido mucho después en los últimos 4-5 años.Esta vez nos pareció que es un nuevo encargado. Este debería tener llegué aquí hace mucho tiempo!! ¿Qué decir de él, así que él le da la bienvenida como un amigo perdido hace tiempo, muy atento, también muy, muy amable. y él O canadiense.Esta vez encontramos el bar completamente abastecido! En el pasado no ha habido ningún proyecto productos en absoluto, sólo licores! La limpieza se hace nada más porque es un infierno de mucho más limpio y lo digo.Aún no hemos probado la comida, pero me dijeron que de otro cliente que "es muy bueno". Soy puntualmente informados que ella era el alcalde de Wakefield por el personal del bar. ¿Quién mejor para respaldar la comida!Tienen un menú principal y también una tabla de especialidades, con cosas como bistec, hígado y cebollas, curry de pollo con arroz Tikka de £4,95 lo que creo que es un precio muy razonable.y no mencionar que hay una chimenea abierta. Así que si alguna vez en Wakefield en un día y a falta de una pinta pop.

Nos cayó un mientras visitábamos de Leeds. También hay un aparcamiento detrás del pub/ hotel, aunque es un poco de una curva pronunciada en una calle concurrida así que ten cuidado.El personal era muy acogedor, aunque fue el lunes por la noche tranquila y sin comida que ofrecen aún así tuvimos una estancia relajante y agradable en este pub histórico bien conservado con sus conexiones de Harewood House justo al otro lado de la carretera. Tengo que decir que los inodoros estaban impecables - buen nivel, tan bien cuidado para ambos sexos que todos nos comentábamos!! Los brazos bien hecho Harewood justo lo que debería estar disponible en todos los establecimientos.Sin duda volveremos de nuevo ya que nos hicieron sentir como en casa en el cómodo ambiente encantador con buenas cervezas y todo el cuidado personal atento podría dar. Absolutamente 110% especial.

Me quedé inmediatamente impresionada por el limpio y el ambiente de la comunidad de calentamiento de este viejo pub de la escuela. El anfitrión Andy hizo que todos se sientan bienvenidos y estaba charlando y amable para darte todo el mundo como un amigo perdido hace tiempo.Ha sido un tiempo desde que me sentí tan bienvenido en un lugar, es el pub como solía ser, y que falta y ambiente de pub y discotecas más estos días.Genial, cervezas bien mantenidas también incluye cervezas y sidras además de un calentamiento chimenea abierta para completar los viejos tiempos de invierno hay piscina climatizada ambiente pub!

Bueno, no fue el más limpio de lugares. estado aquí hace unos cuantos años y fue genial qué se hizo mal. Al examinar las bebidas le pedimos a cambio ellos y se tuvo que enfrentar con el bar personal quejándose de que su mate en el bar. Probablemente al consejo sería para limpiar las cañerías más a menudo. Me alegro de no probar la comida!

Lovely food, the special board is always changing so keep going to see whats on, lovely bar staff so friendly and welcoming, beautiful pub, lovely chef such a nice bloke. Good value for money loads of drink offers, lovely ales. Would recommend this pub to everyone. Brilliant !!

Second time to this city centre pub. The food is OK. It's a nice friendly pub. Good value. Give it a try you won't be dissapointed.

cavery.... meat was barely warm and fatty. the veg!!!!... discoloured, overcooked, reheated,tasteless mush.. one of the worsed meals I,ve ever left..

I went today and the food was fantastic the menu has really changed for the better and the staff are fantastic a real value for money would recommend this place 100% :-)

Visited 15th October.We had to wait nearly half an hour until the Carvery was ready.There was beef or beef!Considering we had voucher for large Carvery we didn't get much meat.We were given 3 small roast potatoes - thought we could help ourselves to veg - we class roast potato's as vegTo be fair the 2 Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, cauliflower, carrots and cabbage were fine.It was a deal and we also had 3 slices of cheesy garlic bread and saladThe chef wasn't very friendly but we did clear our plates.For what we paid with a voucher deal it was ok

visited today only 1 other couple in bought deal monster we were supposed to get larger meal wot a joke no choice of meat as is advertised other couple had beef non left for us we got dried up pork loin and only 1 small slice had to ask for more 3 tiny pieces of roast potato was given to us he took rest away think cos other couple got themselves extra when he popped out lol think veg had been there most of day more lumps in gravy than liquid yorkshire puds not bad food not even hot no wonder this place was empty never will we go again chap serving never spoke to us nor did he speak to other couple this is no way to run a business.

Think we must have been to the wrong pub!!! Certainly not what we experienced. We had to wait 30 mins for yorkshire puds, roast potatoes & chicken breast. Said on the board turkey & beef, there was only gammon left until chicken breast came out Looked like the gammon had been there for hours. The broccoli didn't even look edible, carrots were like bullets .We asked to see the manager who was otherwise engaged.The only positive thing i can say is the staff were really apologetiic.

Cant understand the outstanding reviews, the food is anything but.Yes the veg is fresh. BUT it is under cooked and because not many people are eating it is left to stand for far too long. The carrots were so old they were turning black. Cauli was hard and the broccolli was grey. The standard of meat also needs to improve, it was kept warm in a water bath.There is not enough footfall of customers to operate a good carvery.Unfortunately very poor and we will not return.

The Harwood Arms is a great traditional small town centre pub with an enclosed beer garden outside. We visited on Sunday for the large carvery at £5.49 each and we were not disappointed. Gammon, beef and turkey were available along with fresh (not frozen) vegetables, roast potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower green beans and carrots. All the meat and vegetables are purchased from the Rhubarb Triangle Farm Shop nearby and you can really taste the difference. They also had black sheep bitter and a fruity cider on draught along with the usual offerings at very reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly and they obviously have a lot of regular customers. Nothing like the chain pubs but that is the charm of the place. Fernandes Brewery Tap and Wetherspoons within walking distance if you want more real ale but your wont get a better quality carvery at this price anywhere else in Wakefield. Been in recently to see what it's like a couple of friends had mentioned the Harewood Arms so me and my hubby decided to visit ( we used to just walk past and never think of going in ) but I can tell you now the staff are overly helpful and really friendly the pubs kept to a good standard which is always important. The carvery set up is a fab idea and the meat really well cooked. And to be perfectly honest the prices of both food and drink are very decent. So if you normal just walk past like we used to DONT!!! go in its a great place.

Great value for money. A brill find. If you want affordable and great tasting food I would suggest going here. The staff are really friendly and make you feel at home.

Great place really friendly chilled staff and atmosphere they started doing Sunday roasts today with either chicken or gravy and a small range of desserts was good hearty home cooked food thanks for a great time. Will defo be in again.

Truth is this is one of the cleaniest, friendliest pubs with a great calm atmosphere in wakefield i have come across as i have passed by. I came into wakefield in 2011 and a lot has changed. The new owners are very welcoming and chatty. Which is good for any pub. Drinks are excellent value for money. Got speaking to the new owners and they do not serve food as of yet. But as soon as they do i know i will be calling back in soon. I would reccomend this pub to anybody in wakefield or passing threw

nice traditional pub with quiet clientel, sunday dinners are georgous the roast beef melts in your mouth, very good value for money too
