Fantastic staff, really busy but they made room for us as walk ins. Emily was exceptional as a server, attentive but professional. Very friendly lady. Beautiful food. Sunday Trio amazing.

Booked for table of 3. We were served by Cath who was very helpful with our menu choice. We had prawn skewer, fish and chips and a chicken skewer. All very tasty and cooked to perfection. Cath talked us into a mini pudding and hot drink which again were tasty. We downloaded an app which Cath helped us with and we're given a 50%off mains voucher, very handy. We will definitely be back again when we are all free to meet up.

Came to the red kite tonight for a meal with my partner. Our server was cath who was really friendly and chatty and provided great service ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was also amazing will be coming again for sure

We took my sister for a birthday lunch at the Red Kite on New Year's Day - it was actually her 70th that day. Several members of staff looked after us including the Manager. We were so pleased that we asked to see the Manager and praised her staff. When visiting family again in that area we would definitely re-visit this pub.

Came for lunch today with my dad ,had a lovely lunch, was going to have the steak sandwich bit was sold out so Liam recommended the hot roast beef sandwich with triple cooked chips and onions and horseradish can definitely recommend, also Liam recommended honey 🍯 pot pudding, delicious and you can eat it all even the flowers, great friendly staff ,Andria always really friendly and helpful, great atmosphere, lovely and clean ,will definitely be back again soon ,thanks to the Red kite and your lovely team x

We came in for a late lunch, at about 2.45. The place was nearly empty and felt cold.We asked to move from the table we were given so that we could be by a radiator. Three of us ordered the boef Bourgogne , which unexpectedly was a chunk of beef on a bone. Exorbitant at £25. Mine was mostly fat and l couldn't eat it so my husband swapped with me. Laterthe waitress plonked desert menus on the table and went away.After 20 minutes she had not returned so we got up to pay and leave.

Food is generally ok service can be slow but this is more likely due to insufficient staffing the service is friendly and the staff work hard. Prices are about what you would expect for this type of venue.

We were welcomed into your premises and even though we had no reservation it was no problem. The young lady Emily who looked after us was very helpful with the menu and nothing was too much trouble . She was friendly, polite and is a real asset to your team 👏🏻. The resturant has a lovely warm and cosy atmosphere we shall be coming back again . The meals we ordered (2 meals from the kids' menu and 2 from the a la carte menu) were all a good size, good temperature and tasted nice. The service was good and quite quick without feeling rushed. The staff were pleasant towards us and our children (despite them being quite noisy!) Overall it was good value.

We have been here often and enjoyed our meals. I’ve no complaints today about the food, it was very nice. I’ve come to warn people of how they serve the lamb rump skewer. It was brought to the table on one of those red hot skillets on a wood board. On placing it on the table the waitress said “be careful, the plate is hot”. Having had plenty of meals served on these I knew it would be, however I was not expecting the metal skewer to be the same temperature. When eating off a skewer I’ve always got hold of the skewer and sliced the meat from it. This is what I went to do, only as my thumb touched the skewer I realised the meat had actually been cooked on it. This to me seems way out of line and surely against H&S. While holding my thumb in my cold drink I was thinking of my 7yr old Grandaughter eager to help me with the skewer. Her whole palm and fingers would now be blistered and she would possibly even be in A&E being treated for severe burns. I told the waitress that it was dangerous and she just replied that she told me it was hot. No, she told me the ‘plate’ was hot. In my opinion this should be served with a little oven mitt. The waitress couldn’t look my way when she passed and nobody came to the table to ask if everything was ok. Please be very careful if you order this.

Came for a birthday meal & 4 of us got the Sunday trio priced at £21.95 per plate, was disappointed when our food arrived to have a piece of belly pork that was about 5cm in size, a tiny slice of turkey & a slice of beef. We basically paid just short of £88 for some veg & potatoes. Such a shame as the food was lovely & our last visit was good but the amount of meat for the price wasn't good at all.

2nd visit over the festive period both visits were excellent. Fantastic service. Excellent quality food. Clean surroundings.

Went for the Boxing Day meal. Had 16:30 booking so expecting everything to still be on the menu. The menu didn’t have one of the starters advertised online; so we didn’t have one. Turns out it was just misprints on the menu. Main meal took a very long time to come (1hr 15) it also took 25mins for a drinks order to be taken. Tried to order dessert however, again: didn’t have what my partner wanted- sold out. They only took £6 off the set menu price for us.. so I ended up paying £30 for a duck main and £33 for pork main and a burnt brownie. Appalling all round really. And daylight robbed.

Boxing Day meal, booked in at2pm. First visit to the restaurant, so on walking through the door to be greeted by friendly staff is always a good start! So first impressions very clean in both the bar area and the restaurant coupled with nice staff. Food was cooked and presented to perfection by polite and friendly staff. Will we be returning….. yes

Caitlin was amazing, such a breath of fresh air. She was attentive without being intrusive, cheerful and bubbly. Food was amazing as always and the surprise carol singers made for a perfect night.

Don't bother spending your money, the food is underwhelming and below par chain pub food which was disappointing.

Visited recently and it seemed busy and we ordered 2 x fish and chips. A little overcooked.... Price is high!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good. It was very busy. We were told that we would have a wait of 30 - 45 minutes and it was at least that. For those who didn't have a starter, it was 90 minutes. It was understandably busy for Christmas, but maybe there should be less tables booked per timeslot.

Our vist to The Red Kite Wakefield was shocking. We was shown to our table and all really fine and plesent at this point. When the waitress comes for our order, we order drinks for two adults in our 40s and 2 teens (18) but becouse they didnt have any ID on them they refused to serve us. The waitress was rude, the manager equaly as rude and just seemed to make rules up with respect to the UK Law and all in all the best thing about the Red Kite in Wakefield was the seing it in our review mirrow. We like 90% of UK residends decided not to spend our money in a place where you are made to justify your behaviours and exposed to poor customer service. Great job Red Kite. Safe to say you are a perfect example why we the british people are choosing to dine out. Keep up the goid work.

My wife and I had lunch at Red Kite. Food was great and we were served by wonderful Emily. My wife loved the succulent turkey roast and roasted vegetables were wonderful.

What made this occasion special was how Cath, Andria and Evie served a group of 17 people (that was us) and still managed to run a rather full restaurant and and serve pub food all at the same time. These ladies are a the back bone of this establishment as I am sure are the chefs and kitchen staff who ensure the food they serve is of the highest standard and delicious. I havre nothing but praise for Cath, Andria and Evie and the rest of the team. On this occasion we were a group of 17 people and of course had booked in advance. The meal was fabulous on all courses and everyone enjoyed their choices. But what made this occasion

Welcoming staff and a cozy atmosphere make this an attractive venue. The food was tasty, with a special mention for the chips, which were spot-on! My only criticism was the cost of drinks, which are up there with London pub prices and almost 50% more than what many of my local Glossop pubs charge. I'm really surprised that the people of Wakefield can afford to visit very often.

I really like the Red Kite. Good friendly staff. Very dog friendly, but not wallet friendly considering that they have just shot their prices up by 15p a pint! I'm sorry, but that's an absolute rip off. Call in for a couple of pints of lager and two standard packets of crisps. But don't expect much change from £15 when you do... Even the bar staff look embarrassed when they ask you for it.

Chloe was great on service and the food was lovely, 2nd time we have been and has always been great.

Atmosphere great, server very friendly and most helpful. Unfortunately my food was luke warm, when I asked that this time,could my food be hot, it arrived again hardly warm. If they can not serve food warm when asked, then not worth patronising.

We had dinner here this evening following a spur of the moment decision. Although we have dined here numerous times over the years whilst visiting family in the area the service tonight was exceptional. Our server was Caitlyn and what an asset to the business ! Her welcome, professionalism, charisma and personality was an absolute joy to experience. I have dined all over the world and have worked in a senior position within the hospitality and travel sector for almost 40 years and I can honestly say it is rare to come across someone as natural as Caitlyn in delivering such effortless quality customer service. Thank you for making our experience First Class !

Excellent service and good food. The staff are great here. We had a little bit of a noisy table near us and asked if we could move. Straight away they sorted another table. As it happens the table were leaving but they moved us anyway. Food was fantastic too!! Really good experience as always. ☺️

What a great place, from the moment we walked in the staff where very friendly, we stayed for an evening meal, and was were shown to a table in a very lovely area of the pub. Katie served us and made us very welcome, the food was excellent. Well recommended.

Eat at The Red Kite on the 3rd and 4th October 2024. The menu was different from the average pub, a nice surprise. The ambience in the pub was standout - lots of customers enjoying their time in a comfortable environment. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, including arranging a table for me through Charlotte. Talking of Charlotte, she, Caitlin and, Louise, were all brilliant in providing prompt and attentive service, without being intrusive. They all demonstrated true, and, honest customer service! They are a credit to the business. Both meals I had were very good, the chicken screwers just edging the win over the burger. One slight disappointment, the Black Sheep, and, Doombar had run out on the second evening. A suggested alternative went a long way to ensure a good night, so all was well. A mention for Martin, who managed to find me a table on what was a special charity quiz night, which was great fun, and obviously enjoyed by all those taking part. Be you local, or, a visitor like me, you'd well to pop in to The Red Kite; highly recommended!!! Sincere thanks to all concerned.

Despite a few gluten free hiccups (resolved before eating) the food was great, the gentleman resolving the issue was polite and extremely helpful (above and beyond). I rarely eat out but I'd definitely go again.

Nice little pub, was confused when I pulled up as thought I was going to the hotel. Front entrance not obvious and had to walk all the way round from back to front to enter, nice little cosy quirky pub. Starter of mushrooms on bruschetta was fine and delicious but the main of the sea bass was cooked a bit dry with veg underneath with the sauce. I would have preferred the veg on the side with sauce over everything. Prices are mid range for a pub and dogs are welcome. This pub is more aimed at the quiet dog walkers of the area but the staff were very helpful, bit of a hike to the toilets upstairs though when you have had a few. Location is a bit out of the way from Wakefield city centre. The labrador at the entrance was a lovely chilled out dog.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience and will not be returning.

First time visiting.. Lovely pub inside and out!.. Very friendly relaxed atmosphere, Staff are helpful and nothing seems like too much trouble.. Food is excellent quality!.. I only gave 4 stars as I thought £83 for 2 meals with one drink each that weren't even alcoholic was a bit pricey!.. Don't get me wrong the quality of everything was 100% and I don't mind paying for said quality either.. But it is still a bit pricey for portion size

This is our first visit to the Red Kite but definitely won’t be the last! Veronica was extremely friendly & helpful with our orders & the service was exemplary. Nothing was too mouth trouble. Thank you for a wonderful experience
