Had lunch here it was ok but all food is frozen.paid 14pound for 10 frozen chips some garden peas and frizen watery fish.prices should be lower for frozen food.staff nice and friendly just food neefs to be better for those prices

Absolutely fantastic time on Christmas Day. Food was excellent and all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. A big thank you to Josh and the team for a great day. The biggest compliment we can pay is that we’ve rebooked for Christmas Day next year already 😁🎄

I ordered a cappuccino and sent it back because it was cool. The waiter brought me another and it wasn't much hotter. The hot drinks were poor tbh and the price should reflect that they are not competing with a proper coffee shop. The food was average, arrived on the table cool and my son only got one slightly burnt sausage with his kids meal. We were waiting around 45 minutes even though It didn't look overly busy and then they sneaked a 10% service charge on the final bill...I wouldnt have minded if the service had been top notch but it wasn't. The service charge has to go!!

Very poor service, just ignored, food was dry or undercooked, I have never had as bad service. Very poor and when leaving wasn't even asked about the visit.

I found this establishment very welcoming, the staff were friendly, the food was extremely nice we were seated in a lovely cosy area by the fireplace and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the pub and how inviting the staff were on arrival and throughout our visit, will definitely return and recommend to our friends.

Amazing pub on the corner next to newmillerdam, the best pub in the village, the team are always full of smiles and the food is amazing. Great to have a walk around and visit afterwards

Went to chat up with my farther and we decided to eat whilst we were there. Big mistake as the food was well over a hour to come out, and the portions were the size of a child's meal and poor quality and the meals were cold. I sent mine back as it was clock cold. The meal was returned to me and was the same meal only that it had been thrown in a microwave. I asked the member of staff if it had been in the microwave and his response was, " I've no idea I just gave it to the kitchen ". The food was not worth the money and how some can even mess up sausage and mash ( instant mash may I add ) really shouldn't be working in a kitchen. Safe to say we won't be returning.

Good local pubs do still exist !. Been coming here for a few years and always a great welcome and atmosphere whoever is working. Have eaten in the bar area and restaurant and always a tasty meal so well done to everyone in the team and looking forward to more visits in 2025 !

Meal itself was nice but when it came to paying we were overcharged! Not sure if they stuck a service charge on which I believe should be asked instead of forced. Probably won't go back because of this, find it quite cheeky but didn't want any aggrevation!

We visited for a carvery, ordered a table but arrived early to find parking as it's dire. Whilst waiting for my friend to arrive after parking, I stood by the bar. The filth on the floor behind the bar was disgusting. A couple came in with a very wet dog, shaking itself, and barking which continued for the NEXT HOUR. Dogs in a restaurant??? We were put on the tiled floor area very near the counter for the carvery. There was an exceptionally strong smell of fish! Our waiter continually thought I was a man, calling us "guys" it was embarrassing. The Christmas lights next to our table were lovely until they started flashing. Are you not aware of epilepsy and flashing lights? Our carvery food was poor. I had a huge lump of gristle in my gammon. The roasted potatoes were unseasoned and soft because they were cold. Boring choice of veg, the cauliflower cheese had no sauce on it! The stuffing was bland, and the carrots not cooked enough, all cold. However, the icing on the cake was the disgusting ladies toilets. Rust, mould, rotten wood, filthy floors....... On paying, we found the service charge was already added. I asked for it taken off, as we prefer to choose and we're not sure the service charge is actually passed on. The final insult was on the receipt - "NO TIP LEFT" in fact we did tip, how bad is that? The Dam food has seriously gone down the pan recently. I doubt we will be back.

Thanks to Josh and all the staff at The Dam Inn for a fantastic evening. Twenty of us enjoyed delicious food with entertainment provided by James Lomas. A great night and we'll definitely be back next year.

It is OK it is difficult to keep the carvery fresh. I do not like the idea of paying for parking on a pub car park

Flew all the way from the United States to have a pint here, it was fantastic and the bar man was a delight! 100% recommend to tourist and locals alike!

A fabulous place, staff were really friendly and there was a good atmosphere. We had the plant based P&J burger which was amazing, I have to say it was the best burger I have had. I would highly recommend this pub, it’s just a shame I am not local as I’d love to visit The Dam Inn more often.

We come every Saturday, the live music and the cask ale is amazing, all local and the open fire is always lit and welcoming. Josh and the team are doing a great job. Always welcoming and happy.

Cask ale is best around, same goes for the atmosphere open fire lit ready for the cold evenings, staff are fantastic we come every weekend and we wouldnt go anywhere

Absolutely shocking. Wouldn’t come here again on a Sunday if someone else paid me. Staff unprofessional. Food was of a bad quality. General service unbelievable sat here waiting for a desert menu while our table is still full of plates… staff too busy say talking.

We were only calling in to use the loo but decided to try the carvery. The food was delicious. Three choices of meat massive Yorkshire puddings and the veg and mash were cooked to perfection. Three choices of gravy. It was superb. Had a walk round the dam afterwards.

A perfect location especially on a sunny day. Great atmosphere with helpful staff and the good food is reasonably priced.

Visited for the first time this weekend, cracking selection of lagers and spirits, loved my mojito made to perfection, sat in the bar and got talking to a couple who were also here for the first time and we all were saying that it was just the most genuine warm welcome and service that made the experience. Will definitely be returning, have heard brilliant things about the two and three course menu, cant wait to come back. 😀

The food was delicious.not alot of parking outside some disabled bays. Music was playing inside and chairs were comfy and they didn't have fish and chips or hunters chicken. Staff were really kind. And that's it

Really like the fact that the carvery gives two options for a vegetarian carvery. Not many do this . I chose to just have a meat free carvery as I didn’t really liked the nutless roast or the beetroot wellington. Happy at the price as that was my chose to not eat meat.

Place was really quiet and calm on my visit which is preferable for my autistic brain. Nice food, although a bit expensive

The Dam Inn, Location, Location, Location! After a refreshing walk around Newmillerdam under the rare but glorious sunshine, my friend and I decided to pop into The Dam Inn for a bite to eat. Having not visited in a few years due to moving away, I was pleasantly surprised by what awaited us. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm ambiance instantly felt welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, setting the tone for a lovely dining experience. Though we only had time for a quick snack, but the food far exceeded our expectations in both flavour and value. We ordered the Halloumi fries and the Sharing Nachos with Beef, both of which were nothing short of a taste sensation! The Halloumi fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully chewy on the inside, while the nachos were loaded with flavour and generously topped. It’s not often that you find such fantastic food at such reasonable prices, making our meal all the more enjoyable. The Dam Inn’s location is another highlight — nestled in a scenic area, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a walk around Newmillerdam. The combination of great food, value for money, and excellent service truly made for a memorable afternoon. I can't wait to return for a more substantial dinner soon. If you're looking for a place that ticks all the boxes, location, delicious food, and incredible staff The Dam Inn should be at the top of your list to visit.

Not very good at all… sat at least 1/2 hour waiting for a steak sandwich…not even that busy, sandwich arrived, not even a offer of condiments… had fetch own knife’s and fork serviette etc ourselves Service not good at all 😡

Absolutely love this place, the young man welcomed us on arrive at the bar, took our drinks whilst we found a table we wanted to sit and then our waitress Michelle took over and looked after us throughout the afternoon! The hunters chicken was brilliant and the lemon tart is to die for. We will 100% be returning.

Absolutely love this place, the food is always yummy and I cannot fault any of the staff. They are so attentive and even when you've only been a few times they remember your drink order and greet you like family. Also Josh always says hello and goes out of his way to make sure you have had a good time. Ive been to a few of the nights with entertainment and it's been great. Would definitely recommend. Nice place for a drink, we went on a Friday afternoon/evening. The staff are friendly and service is fast. I was hoping for a view of the water from the pub, but you either get a view of the road or the car park.

Had a lovely meal here at the Dam in this Sunday with my family, the young carver at the carvery was very polite and friendly, the meat and Yorkshire puddings were delicious and the choice of vegetables were great too. The staff were all busy and smiling making sure we were well looked after. We noticed there was a Motown night the night before and it seemed a brilliant night from what we were told. We will be sure to book again very soon. Thank you.

Had the carvery here today. Probably not been for the carvery here for a fair few years. I can say I won't be going back again. The beef had blood running out of it when it was being cut. It wasn't like it was even rare, it just want cooked. We asked for the end piece instead as this may have been cooked properly but the man serving it just rudely said no. There was cauliflower cheese all over the floor. My mum slipped on it but luckily didn't hurt herself. She told someone about it so no one else would slip. The person didn't seem in interested who she had told and didn't rush to clean it up. The gravy was watery with no taste. The roast potatoes were tasteless. The broccoli was like mush. To be honest most of it tasted bland. Only thing half decent was the cauliflower cheese. The waiters and waitresses were lovely and totally understood when we complained. They did knock some money off the bill but we would have rather paid full and had a nice meal. Certainly won't be returning for the carvery again.

Well what can I say I've been for a carvery many times here but will never go again. when I approached the counter I saw the beef was not just undercooked it had blood swimming out of it which I can't eat .I asked if I could have it cut from the other end which was more well-done but he point blank said no which I thought was very rude the food was bland and didn't have any taste. The service staff was very nice when I complained and offered us a free pudding which we refused.they did knock us a bit of money off but I would have rather paid full price and have good food the chef needs to get is act together people deserve good food when paying for it

Decent interior, nice atmosphere and good quality food which arrived fast, but not too fast! Staff were friendly, and receptive to our request to lower the volume of the music. Respectable portion sizes and balance. Good location, with beautiful walks available nearby (so you can burn off the pudding). Would recommend!

Nice meal, just me and my partner for my birthday. A little girl who wasn't supervised stood at the side of our table throughout the meal, asking 20 questions and asking if we had finished yet spoiled it slightly, so we skipped dessert. Not against children at all, but she was hampering diners whilst they are trying to eat and have a conversation, asking for 'coins' for the machine we were sat near to and for us to roll her yoyo back up. Maybe just a word to the caregivers from the staff would have helped.

Nice place. In a lovely place. Easy parking. Nice atmosphere but I think nearly £12 for a chip butty and 2 coffees is a bit expensive. Still it's handy for New miller Dam. Probably going again though. Been again and this time the coffees and chip butty were much larger, and much better value. Thoroughly enjoyed it 😁

I reluctantly come here because my partner likes it, however every time we do the staff disappoint. Drink never arrived with the meal even after a reminder and when paying there was no apology, just a blank expression with the words 'ok'. Made matters worse when the blonde one decides to almost push past me without the normal 'excuse me'. Such a shame because the food is generally nice. Guy serving the carvey is superb though. Polite and friendly.

Myself and my wife absolutely love visiting here, the team are so welcoming and friendly every time we visit. The food is just as good as the service - brilliant! We have never had a bad visit. The tribute nights are a great addition to everything the pub has to offer. Thank you to the whole team for looking after us.

Always a brilliant night and it's much improved from a few years ago. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. There's a great beer garden outside and plenty of room inside when the temperature drops. Make sure you get there for the tribute nights on a Saturday!

I came with my family and friends last night the food was hot and it was delicious, the team who looked after us could not have done anymore and the service was excellent.Big shout goes to Izzy who looked after us. She even talked me into have the Trillionaires Tart and I would definitely recommend it.

We come every week and the staff cannot do enough for us. The food is brilliant and the tribute night was not to be missed. Annalise and Josh looked after all of the team and we had a cracking night. We will definitely be back thank you all.
