Since the Harlequin has had a refurbishment it seems like a different pub, same amount of good beer on handpulls , coupled with a good mix of kegs, would recommend.

Love this pub now it's under new management. Great selection of beers and now does food too.

Best pub in Sheffield. Went twice last weekend and three of the cask ales had changed overnight - shows the popularity of the place. Great atmosphere, really reasonable food and fantastic beer range. Brilliant

Couldn't recommend this pub enough. The beer selection and quality is amazing, the staff are knowledgeable and the food is amazing. It also has great, atmospheric music. If you're looking for great value vegan food, it's hard to find but you'll definitely find it here. Had one of the Chef's vegan specials for just £10 and it was amazing, restaurant-quality.

First class food, my wife and I chose the mutton curry from the specials board and will be returning there soon for another meal and the excellent real ales.

Wonderful, cosy pub with great beer and lovely staff. The food is home cooked, comforting and tasty. Great options for veggies and vegans too.

One of my favourite pubs in the whole world. Beer (and other drinks) selection is always top tier, food is always something to look forward to (portion sizes are mega and I promise you can really taste the effort and care that goes into it), plenty of seating in a wonderful, warm clean safe space. All the staff are wonderful and very good at their jobs. They are knowledgeable and friendly . Everything is great value for money and their quiz is the best in the city. I’ve wanted a pub in Sheffield like this for years and I really feel it’s filled a missing piece. Long live The Harlequin xx 🫶

Great new local on my doorstep! A broad selection behind the bar and the perfect spot to take advantage of when in need of some tasty, lunchtime grub! Overall the Harlequin is a cosy pub for all occasions, with the added bonus of lovely welcoming staff and management!

Great food (where else can you enjoy real home made chips made from real potatoes?), a menu that changes and keeps on getting better. The onion bharjji sandwich is a perfect lunch! Great selection of non-alcoholic drinks too. And it's dog friendly too!

First time visiting the Harlequin since covid. This place has not lost any its charm. A beautiful pub, in the heart of Kellam Island that prides itself on welcoming everyone. I'll be back to visiting much more frequently from now, with food available 6 days a week, just not Sundays. Real ale, keg beer, ciders, wine, world wide spirits, this place has something for everyone

Much improved from our last visit. Harliquin has really smartened its ideas up. The beer was on good form and an excellent choice.

I can remember this pub under it's previous management, so when it was brought under new management I was dead curious how things would change. An immense upgrade for the pub, with a kitchen now opened, really good food, plenty for vegans and vegetarians, an enormous beer garden, a massive amount of taps and spirits, and it feels like it's gotten a lot livelier too. Well worth going to, for an ale and some grub.

Wow! The Harlequin is back! Just like the good old days but dare I say... Better? Amazing selection of German beers. The food is outstanding. Great service and a cracking atmosphere.

Lovely newly reopened and refurbished pub. 7 interesting cask real ales and 3 real ciders along with various craft beers alongside. Well worth a visit with friendly and helpful staff, welcoming atmosphere and clientele.

Cracking pub with a great selection of keg, cask and spirits. Friendly staff and a good amount of space. Small-ish beer garden and a dart board inside.

Not sure about this one. Over charged at the bar. Staff constantly on their phones. Toilets smell terrible. Dartboard hogged all afternoon. Full of flies.

Lovely welcoming pub with friendly bar staff, an excellent choice of beers and a wonderful selection of whisky’s including some cracking Campbeltown malts. Highly recommended.

A fine establishment for drinking!

A really, genuinely, proper lovely boozer. Not been in for years but the new team have scrubbed it up nicely. Beer and whisky selection in particular are fantastic and the lovely staff make for a a really friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Decent dartboard and big bags of Nik Naks are particular perks for me. Great work on the reopening!

I popped in for a single drink on a Sunday afternoon. I haven't been here for more than 10 years so my impression may be a bit limited. This is a traditional pub with a reasonable selection of beers. Not much choice for wine drinkers unfortunately. The single member of staff I met was pleasant. Sadly the place was completely dead when I visited with only four customers at the time. Most of the surrounding buildings have been demolished recently so the surrounding area looks a tad bleak.

Had a great night with a group of friends. A traditional Sheffield Pub with great beer, relaxed atmosphere and really friendly landlady.

Nice beer, but the place has a dingy, run down feeling to it, especially outside. I also found the bartender's attitude to be off-putting.

A proper pub with a proper landlady. Excellent beer quality and a great range of ciders. Ideal for a quiet (other than when a certain regular is holding forth!) drink in a civilised atmosphere. Enjoyable quiz nights on Wednesdays and Sundays.

It was a nice quiet relaxed atmosphere. It was a Thursday so may play a part. Good selection of drinks at fair prices.

Well preserved classic city centre pub. Massive selection of cask and keg beers, large Gin selection and spirits from scotch to Absinthe. Outdoor seating and smoking area to the rear.

It was ready for closing so didn't get a true feel for the place

Terrible service trying to tell me baileys is not a liquor it's a spirit so you get a 25ml measure but you can have a double for £5 no wonder the place was empty riverside just over the way 10 times better and what a surprise baileys sold in a 50ml measure and to my surprise it is a liquor

A proper old school pub with a fantastic range of drinks. Really impressive - lots of different types of spirits, ales, ciders and lagers etc. The landlady is lovely, great banter and really funny and to top it all off it's dog-friendly. She makes a wicked cocktail too. I wish this was my regular.

Amazing, quirky boozer with friendly, happy staff and of course a cracking array of ciders. Okay, so it could do with less Hogans Cider and maybe ditch the Boak and GYD (concentrate ciders) for some proper Somerset + Devon ciders to give a broader range, but this isn’t a criticism, they’re probably a regulars favourite? Anyway, there’s always something interesting I’ll sup so always enjoy my visit to this essential pub for cider drinkers. 🍎🍐🍏👍🏾❤️🦖

Argyle on tour. ...and my continuing search for real ale pubs in Sheffield. I'm attempting to drown my sorrows after a thumping by Wednesday!! From the outside this pub looks fabulous. Inside, it is devoid of any atmosphere or pundits....on a Saturday night. Its big, but needs a huge makeover ....huge potential. Beer was good. I had my first chip butty....ever....and it was....different. Barman was cool...music pretty good...that's about it really. Its a shame...

Never been but the landlady is gorgeous

Having followed the landlady’s excellent Twitter account for some time I thought it only right and proper to pay a visit with my husband and kids whilst we were in Kelham island for my birthday. On arrival my husband literally cheered at the sight of a pub with comfy seating, a spectacular range of beers and music that didn’t fight with our conversation! Our son enjoyed the rustic looking regulars and the carpet, he’s 23 and tends to drink in places with hard floors and very loud music. Anyway if you like a proper pub where you can enjoy a great selection of drinks in relaxed surroundings then the Harlequin is the place.

My twin brother Stephen and I were having a great day out visiting the pubs around Kelham Island area when we chanced upon The Harlequin Pub and what a great find. This is a lovely traditional pub,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, tv's to enjoy the sport,great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread around the pub,its just a really good old fashioned pub. We were here on a Monday evening, the pub was really busy ,in fact there was a Laurel & Hardy tribute night,lots of films being shown of those comedy giants ,atmosphere was really good, we ordered a pale ale each, these were served in excellent condition,we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the fun vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale, a big hit of hops ,hints of toffee and a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and enjoying the great vibe in this pub . We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit to The Harlequin Pub we had a great time. The Harlequin Pub is easy to locate along Nursary Street. Opening hours are; Monday, 3pm till 11pm. Tuesday, Closed. Wednesday & Thursday, 3pm till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till 11pm. Sunday, 3pm till 11pm. A great pub,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Harlequin is a fantastic pub in Nursery street that offers a superb range of local brewed beer's and a fine selection of ciders. The Harlequin is a very traditional pub and takes it's name from another former Ward's pub around the corner which is now demolished.. With a traditional pub interior of wood panelling and white plastered walls'a nice bar and superb seating options throughout the whole interior it's a great pub to go to when visiting Sheffield. We visited here while walking around the Kelham Island area and what a pub it is.On entry we were greeted by the sight of a Laurel and Hardy night in full flow with there films being shown on a large screen and the pub full of Laurel and Hardy fans some of them in Sons of the Desert costumes and if I'am not mistaken that is Laurel and Hardy's fan club name. After we ordered a few cask ales we settled back and watched a few of there short silent films that were hilarious and well appreciated by everyone in this superb pub.The Harlequin is a brilliant pub and was one of the highlights of my three day trip to Sheffield and is well worth a visit and very easy to find from Nursery Street/Spitalfields Street bus stop it's a short walk.(This is my first review of the Harlequin). Only been a few times but there's a good drinks selection and the meals are great too. Their burgers are highly recommended.

Used to love the Quin. However, looking at the pub's Twitter they are Transphobic, against groups like Extinction Rebellion and seem to be leaning in a very conservative direction. Won't be spending my money there again.
