First time visiting the Harlequin since covid. This place has not lost any its charm. A beautiful pub, in the heart of Kellam Island that prides itself on welcoming everyone. I'll be back to visiting much more frequently from now, with food available 6 days a week, just not Sundays. Real ale, keg beer, ciders, wine, world wide spirits, this place has something for everyone

I can remember this pub under it's previous management, so when it was brought under new management I was dead curious how things would change. An immense upgrade for the pub, with a kitchen now opened, really good food, plenty for vegans and vegetarians, an enormous beer garden, a massive amount of taps and spirits, and it feels like it's gotten a lot livelier too. Well worth going to, for an ale and some grub.

I thought I'd try this pub, having heard that the management had changed. There seemed to be a reasonable choice of beers but the first pint was too cloudy and seemed to be near the end of the barrel. The woman behind the bar insisted it was ok and was rude. Drank some of it but it was undrinkable, and the bar staff refused to replace it. Drank another pint of bitter and was really ill the next day. Must have been the end of the barrel. The pub seemed okay but selling bad beer and having rude staff means I'm not going back.

I popped in for a single drink on a Sunday afternoon. I haven't been here for more than 10 years so my impression may be a bit limited. This is a traditional pub with a reasonable selection of beers. Not much choice for wine drinkers unfortunately. The single member of staff I met was pleasant. Sadly the place was completely dead when I visited with only four customers at the time. Most of the surrounding buildings have been demolished recently so the surrounding area looks a tad bleak.

Amazing, quirky boozer with friendly, happy staff and of course a cracking array of ciders. Okay, so it could do with less Hogans Cider and maybe ditch the Boak and GYD (concentrate ciders) for some proper Somerset + Devon ciders to give a broader range, but this isn’t a criticism, they’re probably a regulars favourite? Anyway, there’s always something interesting I’ll sup so always enjoy my visit to this essential pub for cider drinkers. 🍎🍐🍏👍🏾❤️🦖

Having followed the landlady’s excellent Twitter account for some time I thought it only right and proper to pay a visit with my husband and kids whilst we were in Kelham island for my birthday. On arrival my husband literally cheered at the sight of a pub with comfy seating, a spectacular range of beers and music that didn’t fight with our conversation! Our son enjoyed the rustic looking regulars and the carpet, he’s 23 and tends to drink in places with hard floors and very loud music. Anyway if you like a proper pub where you can enjoy a great selection of drinks in relaxed surroundings then the Harlequin is the place.

My twin brother Stephen and I were having a great day out visiting the pubs around Kelham Island area when we chanced upon The Harlequin Pub and what a great find. This is a lovely traditional pub,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, tv's to enjoy the sport, great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread around the pub,its just a really good old fashioned pub. We were here on a Monday evening, the pub was really busy ,in fact there was a Laurel & Hardy tribute night, lots of films being shown of those comedy giants ,atmosphere was really good, we ordered a pale ale each, these were served in excellent condition,we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the fun vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale, a big hit of hops ,hints of toffee and a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and enjoying the great vibe in this pub . We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit to The Harlequin Pub we had a great time. The Harlequin Pub is easy to locate along Nursary Street. Opening hours are; Monday, 3pm till 11pm. Tuesday, Closed. Wednesday & Thursday, 3pm till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till 11pm. Sunday, 3pm till 11pm. A great pub, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Harlequin is a fantastic pub in Nursery street that offers a superb range of local brewed beer's and a fine selection of ciders. The Harlequin is a very traditional pub and takes it's name from another former Ward's pub around the corner which is now demolished.. With a traditional pub interior of wood panelling and white plastered walls'a nice bar and superb seating options throughout the whole interior it's a great pub to go to when visiting Sheffield. We visited here while walking around the Kelham Island area and what a pub it is.On entry we were greeted by the sight of a Laurel and Hardy night in full flow with there films being shown on a large screen and the pub full of Laurel and Hardy fans some of them in Sons of the Desert costumes and if I'am not mistaken that is Laurel and Hardy's fan club name. After we ordered a few cask ales we settled back and watched a few of there short silent films that were hilarious and well appreciated by everyone in this superb pub.The Harlequin is a brilliant pub and was one of the highlights of my three day trip to Sheffield and is well worth a visit and very easy to find from Nursery Street/Spitalfields Street bus stop it's a short walk.(This is my first review of the Harlequin). Opening Hours. Monday-15.00-23.00. Tuesday-Closed. Wednesday-15.00-23.00. Thursday-Friday-12.00-23.00. Saturday-Sunday-15.00-23.00. Nearest Bus Stop. Nursery Street/Spitalfields Street bus stop.

Went to the harlequin for a couple of drinks with my girlfriend and her parents on a Saturday night. I’d not been before and heard mixed reports about it but it was convenient for our plans. On arrival first impressions could have been a lot better in that our feet were sticking to the carpet and it was a bit dingy & fusty. I realised this wasn’t part of the nearby kelham island scene and more of a town centre type pub youd find nr to a bus station. Never the less we approached the bar to be served and it wasn’t exactly busy. The staff appeared miserable and inconvenienced by eventually serving us, certainly not welcoming. Couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the bloke propped up near the bar who looked like steptoe, but walked away when he burped out loud in ear shot of the mother in law. After making the best of it for a while I ventured to the gents where the evening took an even more interesting turn. On entering the was a bloke openly getting high in the cubicle with the door open. Quite brazen really and gave me the impression this was the norm there as he didn’t seem bothered by me walking in. What added to the experience was the pint pot placed next to the urinal which was full with piss but had a cig end floating on top almost as if for decoration. On returning to the family they had coats on having abandoned their drinks in favour of leaving to find somewhere better. I agreed and we left. On leaving there was a guy leant against the outer wall being sick. All in all a dive of a pub. Not recommended.

Weird night out in here, arrived at 7.30ish on a Saturday to find it was empty, the only person was the bartender. When we asked what was up he said 'nothing, it's just that time of day' which was weird as we had just come from Kelham island where all the pins were nicely busy. Had a mediocre pint and just as we left three people finally walked in. Hope they had a better time than us.

I come here most weeks for my favourite German Wheat Beer (Weihenstephaner Dunkel), Last Friday something tasted wrong with the Weihenstephaner, it was watery and unpleasantly sour. I immediately returned the Weihenstephaner, explaining the taste was not as it should be. and asked for an exchange. A member of staff tried it, and said that was how it should taste, she refused my request to exchange the drink. I tried a few more mouthfuls, but the taste was terrible. I returned the drink to the bar, spoke to another member of staff who was not interested in my complaint. Such a shame.

We love it here. We always visit when we're in Sheffield. I even wrote a poem about the pub once. We enjoy the home cooked food, the selection of flavoursome beers (sadly, we're almost always driving so don't get to sample them as much as we'd like), the events, the quizzes and the music. Dogs are welcome. More so than some of the humans, in fact! We don't have a dog, but our cuddly toys are always made welcome too! They even have a cute little beer garden which is gorgeous in the summer. We'll keep coming back and bringing our friends here (and our cuddly toys!).

On the recent Pubs Galore crawl of Sheffield I found myself taking a detour at this point with the groups resident apple juice slurper to visit this regular winner of the local CAMRA branch Cider pub of the year award. A decent looking corner Victorian pub and I liked the way it was still surrounded by brick buildings of the Sheffield industrial era. On the ale front it is apparently home to beers from the nearby Exit 33 brewery but somehow I completely missed the Exit 33 beers, presumably because I was distracted by the pumps on the main bar section carrying the guest ales which included Oakham Citra, XT Brewing Hop Kitty and Moor Brewery Nor Hop alongside Hawkshead Brewery Lakeland Gold, Tapped Brew Company Station Porter and Dark Revolution Luminous, and the Nor Hop was in fine form. I cannot comment on the cider but according to the chalk board dedicated to alcoholic apple and pear beverages there must have been a choice of over 16 of them. I wasn’t as drawn to the interior decor of this carpeted single room pub as I was to some of Sheffields fine other heritage pubs to but it is certainly spacious and perhaps the fact that there wasn’t many in didn’t help the overall ambience during our visit.

Absolutely awful. Booked a meal at least a week in advance. Greeted by a bartender who said we had to wait to be seated until his boss turned up After ten minutes we insisted we be served because his boss had no intention of sorting out our booking. Eventually the bartender took our orders by this time it was 20 minutes after our booking time. The food was pretty poor. The peas amazingly were over microwaved yet cold !!! The chicken had been microwaved so much it was tough as old boots. After nearly 30 mins the dessert arrived. Sadly it had been subjected to the same over-zapping and turned out to be the toughest rhubarb crumble we have ever had. Strange that because the waiter told us it was apple and salted caramel. The custard was pretty good tho. I suppose it’s hard to burn custard although given time I’m sure they could do it. Fortunately we won’t have to return again.
