Visited with my family. Young teen child reached out to touch metal art installation on the wall of our booth, did not see a hanging loose wire, which sparked and shocked him. Told a member of staff who did not seem bothered. Spoke to what we were told was the most senior member of staff "Shift Leader" who said "shouldn't be touching loose hanging wires then". My husband had to tell them to cordon off the booth so other families would not sit there. We were not offered a first aider, and we were unable to fill in the accident book. Absolute joke. When I asked the Shift Leader why he said that about "shouldn't touch loose wires then", he said he did not know it was our family who it had happened to, and tried to back peddle. He didnt even ask at any point if my child was ok and seemed more interested in starting an argument with my husband.Incompetent supervisory staff - they should know the H&S laws at least.

Good Wetherspoons with a nice atmosphere. Disappointed that there was no steaks & grills menu, BBQ Chicken Melt and Gamon Steak are the best things on the Wetherspoons menu and it would be great if they came to Meadowhall.

A lovely pub with very friendly staff. Breakfast was nice and if you have tea or coffee you only pay once and have free refills. Kirk was a lovely young man and couldn't do enough to help. You have the option to eat outside overlooking the river which was lovely. Highly recommend this place 👍👍

It's intriguing I've read somany reviews saying 'toilet' 'vomit' 'dirt' 'not fresh' 'rubbish' yet I am gonna say as far as everybody's entitled to their own in the recent reviews, I am disagreeing about what they've said about the people(&service). For me this place is simplistically excellently run. I've an opposite stance to the people who said in their review "toilet" "vomit" "dirt" "not fresh" "rubbish", I'm at the other end of the spectrum full of praise. There's endless things I can commend about this yearly visit!:)I'm impressed to the nth degree where I shall explain exactly why because there's load of things I remember even though I'm doing this statement near dozen days as the services&products were up to scratch especially the latter yet former mix. Ethan was somebody who was upthere! He was solid, he was full of lives, he did it confidantly and he was cheery enough yet not too much to the extreme as I am, I shall learn from him because I am a hospitalitarian therefore he taught me we don't need extra, Ethan was flaw less. Not too far beneath was Jamie. Jamie was an honor to have around from A to Z. He was a gent, we need gentlemen as both of these so were. I'm able to have smallchat with him, he seems to have an affinity with popp culturally based things. He was giving that taste of home and he's that guy next door. He's broad appeal-I know children will have been adoring him because he's patient and gentle, I know youngladds will have been liking him because he's funny and elderly adults will have been liking him because he has that aura about him where he's warm. The vermillion color hairred woman who was the baker/kitchen team workker-wOW! The mushypeas were having the tasty British delish standard and the aroma of it was lush, pleasing to the tastbuds&nostrils *v vital that food is pleasing the olfactory sensing*! The dish made me wanna yell CMON LADS LETS GO TO THE PUB! The small bowl of fry was fantabulosa! It was having crispiness and tenderness combined. It felt therapeutically velvetty! The cheddarred/mozzarellaad garlicbread was too superly! The sugarred kids milk was classic which I was allowed to taking with me to the cinema. All around these members of staff highlighted shall continue with head up high! They are confidant, uptempo, efficient, businessminded, laddish, showwoman!!!! And then there is an extension! cHLOE was having airs wonderfully about her-was able to show sides of her youthfully/maturity pandering to the audience. She doesn't mess around. She speaks to everybody and makes everybody feel comfortable. She's smilingAlot! I'd say she was a v nicynicy younglady! She is running around doing somuch where nothing is too much for her, she asked me specially whether my dish was with or without chees

We visited this Wetherspoons pub on a Saturday lunchtime and teatime. The place was busy but the food still came within 15 minutes and was tasty and hot, something I find a lot of places fail to deliver these days.Nothing puts me off like warm food arriving on plates,as it's clearly been sat for 10 minutes going cold. The prices here mirrored the majority of Wetherspoons pubs for drinks and food.Full marks to the staff at the Steel Foundary.

Visited yesterday afternoon 30th July 2024 at 3pm, the lady that came to the bar when her colleague was already busy serving, was very rude and obnoxious. Was disgusting service. The other staff serving seemed rather embarrassed by her behaviour , and she turned to one gentleman waiting and said “ there’s two of us serving now, what’s your problem ? “ absolutely disgusting.

Have been in many a Wetherspoons over the years and it’s normally cheap and cheerful. Sadly, this was neither. The meal cost almost £50 for very basic, badly overcooked, dry, miniscule portions of chips. The fish was dry, the peas tasteless and tinned. The pub itself smelled awful of vomit, and the toilets were noticed. The pub is within a shopping centre off the motorway, so I wouldn’t have expected drinking to excess. Staff way to eger to clean away plates still with food on !!! Sorry kids do eat slower and often need the loo mid meal. If asked once and told no they will be back i don't expect to be asked again 5 mins later. Just not up to standard.

I have visited many Wetherspoons over the years but never been to one where the staff are so committed and hard working, the results can be seen by just how full the place is when everyone else in the Oasis was empty. The chef needs to be wearing a beard net as his beard is far to long. This is a hygine issue. The taste of the chips I can tell that the fryers hasn't been cleaned and oil changed for atleast a month. The oven has burnt on food that shows it hasn't been cleaned for over a month. This kitchen need of a deep clean. The meal sizes are for a 5 year old and the prices are just ridiculous. As being a Executive Chef myself and coming into this restaurant I wouldn't have a open kitchen if your staff dosnt want to follow health and safety and also personal hygiene. I will be passing my photos that I have onto the EHO to raise my concerns of the standard that this kitchen is in

I had the worst experience this afternoon at Witherspoon’s with a awful staff member, me and my mum ordered a gin and lemonade and a pint of Pepsi. the Pepsi came and it was a Pepsi max and we paid £5 for the gin the gin was for me (17 years old) as you are allowed to have an alcoholic drink in a restaurant accompanied with an adult. as this staff member came over we asked for it with lemonade as it didn’t come with some lemonade and she asked who’s it for so I said me, she then looked at me asked for some Id and I said I don’t have any she then was very rude and said “Well I can’t give it you then” did a massive sigh lifted her arms up and had such RUDE body language, she didn’t offer me another drink she just walked off and didn’t even offer a refund. that worker needs some serious teaching to be working in a restaurant, im 17 and have worked in a restaurant better.

Having decided to have tea out with family. When my meal arrived I was shocked. Couldn't believe my eyes neither could family. My burger meal was the smallest portion I have seen and definitely not worth the money with a alcoholic drink. It has totally put me off to have a meal again and will only have a drink in the future. Imagine the carnage if New York city had one Mcdonalds restaurant. The stampede for the door, to the tables, to the servers would be akin to the apocalypse. Welcome to Wetherspoons in a busy, popular, Yorkshire shopping centre. It is busy, very very busy and tables are snapped up quicker than the ones at a kids party during a game of overly aggressive musical chairs. And that's if you can get past the four horsemen... If you're lucky enough to grab a seat, then you'll be fine. The food is the usual blend of affordability and taste without being spectacular. You're fine for a decent breakfast, the meals are perfectly acceptable and The Steel Foundry is a welcome stop in the middle of your shopping tour.
