Food was very nice. An unusual selection so struggled to make my mind up, but glad I was pushed to try something a little different. Staff were very friendly and the ambience was lovely. The issue we had at the end was the charge of £5.50 for tap water. Bit of a shock tbh and not sure it’s even legal. I’m sure if I’d complained it would have been waived but didn’t want to cause a scene. It did stop us tipping though, which would have been more than the £5.50, so they are probably shooting themselves in the foot.

My husband and I came on Saturday, eagerly looking forward to a lovely meal at 4.15. Service was excellent as always and we had prawn cocktail and sticky chipotle chicken for starters. Excellent! With our bottle of Cardonnay chilling nicely we looked forward to our steaks. They arrived not long after our starter plates were cleared. Husband ordered Rib eye. I had ordered Sirloin. All the accompaniments were lovely but I found my steak to be rather gristly and quite bloody for medium. Im wondering if I was served a Rump by mistake? I should have really sent it back but when I gave up half way through, my husband said he would finish it off. He said it was "ok" Its put us off returning which is a shame as I think its a lovely place with excellent serving staff but when the bill came in at £92....its not worrh risking again.

First time Dining here with my Fiance after living in grimsby for over 10 years, i wish i knew this place sooner, the food was absolutely Michelin Star quality and the service was top notch, attentive and super friendly even giving us some lee way with our time at the table as we were 15 minutes late. I would absolutely recommend this place For the Golden Star Rewards please note the below: Steven and Holly was our servers and Jay and James Tyle was our chefs

Booked 9 of us in for a get together for my parents 78th birthdays. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I am gluten free. They cleaned the kitchen down before cooking my food which came out hot and was very tasty. All our meals were lovely and tasty as were our drinks. I also ordered two cakes a chocolate and a Victoria sponge which we took both home. Both were soft, moist and was enjoyed by all. Staff were fantastic but a big special thanks must go to Chelsea she absolutely helped make our afternoon and she was up for a laugh with my mum which she also loved. Thanks again we will be back. Great prices and a fab location.

We visited the Oak Room on Friday 17th and couldn’t be happier. The setting is stunning, food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and courteous, Mel was lovely and Martin was so professional making our evening even better. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

We came to the Livesey Arms for Sunday lunch as it was recommended to us. Unfortunately the service was poor and the meal was tiny. I only had two roast potatoes the size of brussel sprouts. Our desserts came at different times so we couldn’t all eat them together. Although the portions were tiny, they did taste good. There is also a particularly rude waitress. All in all it was very disappointing and when I emailed a complaint they didn’t even have the courtesy to reply.

What more to say other that the title, brilliant food and drinks it’s just a shame about the type of people it attracts. You know the kind, d**kheads who try to look good and “pull birds”. More commonly known and curbys. Just absolutely not the type of people you want to be around. 10/10 food. 1/10 customers. 10/10 would recommend to anybody wanting their night ruined by jacked up little boys who think they’re gods gift.

An established place - been around for some rime and has a loyal following of diners. Available are breakfasts, 3 course dinners and much more, In fact so popular is it that we had to reserve our table, The 2 members of staff are very friendly and know many of the regulars by first name, Tea is served in pots, coffee is available in mugs or cups and nice touches like did I want my coffee served with my meal or afterwards, It doesn't pretend to be something it is not, or re-invent itself and that's probably why it is so popular

Visit here at least once a week, and the food and service is absolutely fantastic. I've tried most of the menu, and everything is amazing. Either the All Day Breakfast or Belly Buster Breakfast are my go to choices, but I also highly recommend their homemade lasagne, pies and fish cakes! What's more is the price is such good value for the excellent quality, you definitely won't be disappointed. A note to a previous reviewer about the toilets here is that they are market operated toilets, they are usually clean, but are not connected in any way to the Courtyard Cafe. Whilst here I can also recommend taking a walk round the market itself too.

We were delighted with the quality of the food that we received. We were part of a group of 30 and we opted for the halibut as our main course. It was delicious and along with the roast potatoes and vegetables, made for a great culinary experience.
