amazing to find more than 1 world class coffee places in Grimsby - THANK YOU, again, YE GODS OF COFFEE!!!!! reminds me of some of the craft coffee places in Wynwood Miami - very vegenesque with hand stitched found-in-the-street decorations, but absoluteyl lovely service, friendly, quick, personable and, most important, an amazingly delicious cappucino. One point Riverhead (if your reading this) dont serve your ciabatta's cold - a bit too dry. if it had been heated it would have been wonderful.

A lovely warm treat in town centre. Affordable healthy food with loads of vegan options. Great atmosphere, quick service even when busy and a great vibe all round.

First time visit and not disappointed. Visited around 12pm for brunch. Went upstairs, which we found nice and quiet, perfect as it was a date. Comfy seats. Cute decor. Loads of choices of books and games whilst waiting food. Food quality and quantity excellent. Pricing reasonable. Staff really polite and friendly. We also noticed a family room, which we thought was thoughtful with customers with children. Would definitely return again Thank you ☺️

Found the cafe via Trip Advisor as the breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express was very poor. Staff were all really friendly. Food was to a good standard. Had a very good scrambled egg with croissant and a decent Cappuccino. Well worth going to and I would recommend it.

We love this sort of breakfast, lovely coffee, great tea brewed to perfection. Quirky little cafe, well worth a visit. We sit upstairs and watch the world go by.

Popped into this lovely little friendly cafe whilst visiting the coast and had wonderful coffee and homemade chocolate balls made with coconut, Yummy!

Popped into the new river head coffee shop yesterday after a long drive. It is a very modern and clean venue. I was greeted by a lady called jules. She was very smiley and welcoming and gave a warm feel. Very polite and professional and her coffee was beautiful. Cheered me up ! What a credit to you guys .. highly recommended

My partner and I visited for breakfast the other day and were blown away with the service, price and quality of food and drink. It took a while for our order to get to our table but only one person was working at the time and the shop was busy, so that is of no fault to the staff. We would certainly visit again.

As a “COFFEE ADDICT” Riverhead Cleethorpes ticks all the boxes.Great selection off plant based milks. The oatly Cappuccino is just amazing. It’s a lovely local cafe , selling great local food and drinks. Naughty or healthy, it has it all. It’s a really welcoming place to get my coffee and cake fixes.

I can not recommend this local cafe enough, the selection of healthy foods and lovely cakes is above anywhere else, however this cafe offers more then just amazing food and coffee, Nic & her lovely staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and to suit any dietary requirements you may have. It’s a lovely welcoming place to sit in and eat which I have missed during this pandemic but the team have gone above and beyond to keep us all safe whilst still getting our coffee fix, with the little messages on our parcels and smiles at our doors I just want to say thank you! It’s really important to support local independent places like Riverhead at his difficult time. Thank you to Nic and the team you are all awesome and I am gutted I didn’t get chance to order my pancakes for pancake day today ..

So pleased to see a good selection of savoury options, cakes and the option of plant milks for people following a vegan way of life or anyone who just likes good food. We had a takeaway filter coffee, a chocolate tray bake and a chocolate flapjack, which were scrummy and served with a smile.

£9.10 for a very measly bacon roll and a takeaway coffee (in my own mug), daylight robbery for takeaway. I appreciate times are tough but if you are aiming to remain open and encourage people to return I think you need to address your prices.

Lovely fresh food, lots of choice, including for vegetarians and vegans, very welcoming staff. My favourite is the spicy sweet potato soup and all of the cakes, I cannot choose.

Ordered quite a bit of food to fuel a lockdown gaming sesh, the food was beautiful, came 20 minutes earlier than expected, and I order all vegetarian for a change and it was delicious!!

What a little hidden gem this place is!!!! Such a homely & friendly atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door. The staff are lovely & nothing is too much trouble. Today my friend and I had a long overdue catch up at Riverhead Coffee in Grimsby. The cappuccino I had was the best I've ever had. My friend said her latte was really nice too. I had a toasted teacake and my friend had a slice of flapjack, both were delicious. We were served by Rox and Holly,both lovely kind young ladies. Highly recommend coming here, we will definitely be returning.

Still the only place in Grimsby to get a great cup of coffee to satisfy the coffee nerd in you. Amethyst and Rox are always welcoming with a personal service giving the place a real heart and soul. Also not a chain, a brilliant local business and more than anything - great coffee.

I was passed this little card today whilst sat in riverhead coffee asking me to leave a review. It really got me thinking!How do I leave a review for somewhere that feels like home?I’ve quietly watched (with a coffee and some coconut flapjack in hand) as riverhead has continued to go from strength to strength. Whether it’s opening up their second premises, or being nominated for (yet another!) award. I could go on about how good the coffee tastes, or how great my favourite smoothie is (the banana one if you’re interested) or even how the baked sweet potatoes are cooked to perfection, but that doesn’t capture what riverhead is or really what it does. I could talk about how riverhead is a champion for independent local businesses, and how it really does play to its core values of; Coffee, Community and Kindess, but that still wouldn’t describe what riverhead means to me.Walking into riverhead is like putting on a cloak of comfort. It’s a happy place, and somewhere you’ll always feel welcomed. It’s a place you can go to have a good time with friends or to even seek solace if needed.I joke that the some of the baristas are like honorary aunts to my baby boy, they’ve seen my family grow over the years. They’ve been there through the hard times and the good. It has been nice to watch riverhead grow too.I think that’s what riverhead is to me (and I’m sure many others), it is an extended family. Make sure you pay it a visit and get wrapped up in its warmth.

At the very core of Grimsby's town centre, right where the busses all drop off is one of the greatest indipendant coffee shops you're ever likely to find.If you are enjoying a day in the town, this unassuming little place has a lot to offer, well made drinks, cakes and food all brought with a smile from the friendly staff.Plenty of seating allows you to find a spot, even if it can get quite busy at peak times. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy.I've become quite a regular, bypassing the big names to go here instead, well worth it in my opinion.

Myself and my friend came two visit with our two children (1 and 5 months old) the food was really nice and our tea was great,the staff where kind and approachable. We both agreed it was a bit 'tired' looking, the toys need a good clean and the flooring upstairs could have done with being newer and cleaner, as it is a family room it would be expected that children will crawl in there and my son was absolutely filthy even though he hadn't been on the floor much at all, but it looks to be quiet old Cork style flooring. Also it is a great idea to have a family food with a play area but it seems a bit silly that it is upstairs? This means that families have to carry babies and small children up and then potentially up and down again to order the food.

Had a really tasty breakfast there - hummus and falafel bagel, soy flat white and juice. The staff is all smiley and nice, and I absolutely loved the interior! Will come back when in Grimsby :)

Lovely quirky little place, friendly staff and the food was tasty. As a vegetarian who doesn't eat eggs and tries to cut down on dairy where possible, I was thrilled to see so many vegan options.

Poor value we had a flat white a tea and one cheese ciabatta for £10.30 the sign for the ciabatta said comes with a drink but in extra small print for take out only which we didn't see. Around the corner you get 2 large breakfasts and a pot of tea for more or less the same price

First time visit on granddaughters recommendation....omg extremely poor...Extremely over priced for what you got...ciabatta bun with bacon n lettuce & 3 crisps......tea weak as dishwater but expensive..atmosphere dingy....won't be going again !!!!!!! would not recommend!!!!!!! disaster.

I love visiting Riverhead Coffee, located at the Riverhead in town. The food that is served is delicious, amazing bagel with bacon, avocado and cheese. The hot chocolate with cream and a chocolate fingers is lovely, and not too sweet or too much. They serve great coffee and I’m a fan of the mint tea too. If you’re after sweet treats they serve a variety of cakes, I believe some of which cater for different diets such as gluten free. The atmosphere here is also really great, so friendly and welcoming and a bit quirky. I’ve had the bagels as take away too which was really handy. A great vibrant place.

Regularly visit this lovely place on my own. Staff are always friendly and helpful, food and drinks are always great and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is lovely. The quirky decoration adds to it's charm and I will continue to visit regularly.

Found this place on recommendation from TA. I would otherwise have walked past it. Scruffy exterior with a heart of gold. We were given a warm welcome and the best cup of coffee for a long time! So good in fact we came back for lunch, having seen the interesting light lunch menu, homemade soups, baked sweet potatoes or bagels.

An unprepossessing exterior belies an excellent kitchen with a charming menu. We had two soups and a salad. All were first class. Coffee was some of the best ever. Thank you.

Took my mum to the Riverhead, can only describe her as fussy when it comes to food, but she enjoyed the tea & teacake as I did too. Greeted by a warm welcome from all three members of staff, Abbi, Jem & Lydia. A lovely place to relax, clean, friendly and very individual. Get your loyalty card stamped!

Visited today for coffee and breakfast. Good variety on the menu I ordered the smoothie bowl which I personally wasn't to keen on, however my friends meal was lovely. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff will definatly visit again.

The food and coffee and riverhead is amazing! I tend to come here with friends or solo when I’m doing bits of work, my visits have always been really enjoyable and relaxing. I love the quirky setting it’s so different and just what Grimsby needed! I work for a coffee chain, but I much prefer the coffee quality and the service here! Love love love it!

Came today with my friend who said the place was great to eat as she has certain allergies they cater for. I ordered a scrambled egg bacon bagle tea and muffin for just under 10 pound. Im a firm believer of pay what you get for and expected so much more.. while we waited the waitress was singing songs with foul language in while a customer sat with her young daughter on the table opposite. The bagle was chewy and the bacon inedible. There was nothing crispy about it I saw the waitress remove it already cooked from a container in the fridge but didn't see how it was warmed back up.. there was no check back and besides taking our orders very little interaction with the staff member. I will however say your muffins are amazing, but unfortunately I'm not going to be returning. Maybe cook your bacon to order what a disappointment..

Have visited a number of times, due to excellent food and choice of beverages. But service ‘will out’ in the final analysis. I am fed up of the staff’s indifferent and might I say miserable attitude. No smile,no welcome, just stoic expressions with 3 different staff members thus far. New choice of venue for me now, where I hope to find more agreeable staff!

I popped in for lunch today ... just me and my book. I had a lovely baked sweet potato with spinach, beetroot, chicken & feta and a cheeky hot chocolate. I love the quality fresh, good for you food here, and it’s a nice pleasant environment too. Thanks Riverhead team!

It was a chilly day, a couple of places had turned their nose up at us because we’d not booked afternoon tea. We got the last table here, took the easy option of “sweet potato & chilli soup” and it was beautiful, followed by carrot cake & muffin homemade. A latte & tea brew yourself type.

This is definitely my favourite place to go for breakfast & lunch! They have oat milk which is great & the lattes are always perfect! The staff are so friendly and helpful! Loads of vegan options too (including cake 😋)

Lovely coffee and a great selection of types of drinks. Was really happy to see matcha on the menu! The loose leaf tea looked fantastic, although I didn't try it this time. The food was also great - recommend the avocado bagel!

Popped in for lunch as I was working nearby. Had the chicken ciabatta . I would have expected the bun to be warm or toasted but it was not. The filling was ok but the bun itself was awful and overpriced at £5.20. Maybe I should have had the coffee and cake as that gets better reviews.

I love this place it's so relaxing. There has been so much thought and detail put into the interior design. It's a refreshing experience compared to a franchise coffee shop, which I feel is always too noisy. I first tried brew tea co. here and I absolutely loved it. Today I tried the sweet potato soup it was delicious, and the banana bread was yummy as always. There is a lovely children's area and comfy high chair, that my niece was quite happy to sit in and could sit right up to the table. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great welcome from George & Olivia for an early lunch. Needed food drink and a place to think. Interesting seating (on the window sill) coffee with sugar from the treacle tin. Excellent bacon bagel and I left determined to return as soon as possible.

I heard about this all over Instagram and it looks amazing and I love rustic retro places so after a work out at the gym I thought I would pop for breakfast when I walked in I wasn't acknowledged as it was empty, the girl just looked at me and I asked if I could sit anywhere she bluntly replied yeah as if I was thick. I then sat and waited for ages until I asked do I have to order at the till again the same girl gave me a blunt yeah answer so I felt very awkward in a place I had never been before I then asked do you do poached eggs instead of scrambled her answer very bluntly no just scrambled so I felt very awkward when when food arrived it was beautiful. the girl that served me and didn't greet me was very blunt and not welcoming another women came in as I was eating who I think owned it was very lovely and said hello and asked if I was ok, like I said food was lovely and loved the place but never felt so awkward in a place I had never been before

The quality of the coffee was exceptional, the enivroment and surroundings felt alot more interesting but it is quite expensive in comparison to the likes of Costa, whetherspoons and so on.

Conveniently located on Victoria street opposite the riverhead bus stops/terminus. This is a quirky cafe with interesting decor / soft furnishings. Some great high wing chairs to sink into ! - ground and first floor premises. Friendly owner/staff. Great coffee and cake and some lovely hot and cold options for a light lunch. All reasonably priced.

I popped in here to have a coffee and do a bit of work as I was away on business to Grimsby. It's nice hipster coffee shop which offers Union roasted beans. I had the filter coffee which was good. They have a nice selection of baked goods such as cakes and brownies as well as offering sandwiches or bagels with various toppings. As all the seats downstairs were taken I settled for a table upstairs which turned out to be pretty cold. There is only a small electric radiator on the wall. Downstairs wasn't actually that much warmer. This was a shame as I would have spent all afternoon there have a few drinks and lunch but I decided to move on. There was wifi and the toilets were clean. Staff were friendly.

Stopped in for lunch. Nice place, bit quirky, good service, and reasonably priced. Baked sweet potato with cream cheese and crispy bacon is well worth going out of your way for. Would rather spend my money in a locally run business like this, than in one of the coffee chains, any day of the week. Recommend it.

Love this place. Real good atmosphere with good coffee, food and cakes. And the tea is really good too.Cups tend to be small but they do a refill for £1. Also have free WiFi. Great to be able to support a good quality independent coffee shop.

The outside facia could do with a lick of paint and the windows were totally steamed up, which doesn't give a terribly good impression initially. Inside, the chairs seem to be mostly mis-matched and the floor is bare wood. To be honest, however, I have the impression that this is a deliberate style of decor. There is a small seating area on the ground floor and a larger space on the first floor. The staff were very helpful, polite and obliging although service was a little slow (for which we received a voluntary apology). I had the distinct impression that the venue would cater for primarily students (totally my own personal opinion) and it is many long years since I was a student, myself. Having said all that, my slice of banana loaf did taste very banana-ry and my friend's chocolate brownie was very chocolate-y and the option of a large helping of very thick cream to go with each, was a nice touch. My friend's very rich hot chocolate was delicious and my own peppermint white chocolate was very unusual and utterly divine.

Very different trendy setting, it is a lovely place. The hot chocolate was delicious and the sandwiches were delicious, big portions with very reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly too. Can get busy but extra seating is available upstairs.

This is a little gem of a place!! Lovely food and an excellent brew of loose tea!!! The bacon and cream cheese bagel I had for brekkie was delicious. Lightly toasted bagel, crisp, crunchy bacon (just how I like it) and cream cheese served on the side in a little pot. I like the way you're able to construct the meal yourself as everything is served separately. This is my way of eating. On the one hand you feel transported back into a 1930's 1940's atmosphere and yet, the style of the place is somehow bang up to date!! I love it here - it's very 'different' for Grimsby but a very welcome addition to the 'run of the mill' eateries. I will definitely visit again and again and again

Fabulous place. Very Arty. Great tasting food. Try the jacket sweet potato with roast tomatoes and feta cheese. Follow with lemon infused cake topped with almonds. Fabulous drink selection. I love the chai tea. Relaxing atmosphere with an artistic twist. Found this place a month ago and just wanted to return. Stop for a relaxing rest, people watch through the large windows or a read of the daily news.

My wife took me in here about a year ago i thought it was ok at first but I've been a few times since and it has really grown on me! Such a nice little original place! Love the upstairs section had lunch there today I had a super salad and my wife had a baked sweet potato. The drinks are nice too you can have the healthy option of a smoothie or go naughty with a hot chocolate! Love the little glass jars they get served in! Nice friendly staff too I even got a free bit of birthday cake the other week off one of them! Highly recommended x

Unexpected little gem in Grimsby Town centre. Arrived on the train earlier than required for a meeting, so went for breakfast with a colleague - the "Bagel and Coffee for £3" offer was perfect! Would have happily paid more considering the service and standard of food. Great atmosphere inside, and the staff were very welcoming.

Popped in after the gym late on a Monday morning with my partner! The coffee shop has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff.I ordered the berry smoothie and BLT bagel. The smoothie was absolutely delicious and the bagel had fresh lettuce, fresh tomato and crispy bacon! Will definitely return

Had a really enjoyable Vegan lunch and Vegan Cake along with coffee, very pleasant staff and relaxed atmosphere. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff..... was also really nice to have a choice of Vegan fayre instead of just one.... when next in Grimsby will definitely go back.

We have tried both the Cleethorpes and the Grimsby one. Both do lovely coffee and cake and they also cater for vegans. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere far better then a 'chain' coffee shop. Give them both a try you will not be disappointed!

Visited this cafe once while staying in Grimsby. A lovely place in the city centre, decided to pop in for a coffee and for an alternative cake (after reading the reviews). Lemon and almond polenta cake was lovely, coffee decent as well. There were bits of vegetarian mushroom "sausage" roll to taste at the till and I must say these were yummy! Slightly confusing that there were no prices next to the pastries/cakes in the window. I sat on the upper floor which provides a load of bookshelves with books and magazines to read while having my coffee. What was slightly disappointing was that I was asked to leave by a member of staff who said the cafe should have closed at 15:00 and they just lost track of time (it was around 15:40 at that time). This spoiled the impression from my visit a little bit.

The service in here was good and staff are happy to bring food and drinks over to you, some people saying this place is overpriced however in other places it is often more costly for food than Riverhead is. They serve a variety of both drinks and meals which wouldn't be seen elsewhere, for example sweet jacket potatoes, and their incredible "hot chocolate indulge" with lots of squirty cream, milk choc buttons, chocolate fingers (although I wouldn't recommend this to takeaway! Lovely surroundings, with flowers in milk bottles/quirky vases on tables, and the 'reading room' upstairs with many books to choose from for if you're sat on your own!

Nice lunch here at river head coffee with a nice atmosphere a good place to come if eating healthy as there's a variety of sweet jacket potatoes salads and bagels also do great smoothies and hot chocolates which I didn't have but looked amazing
