The White Hart in North East Lincolnshire

We have just been for the Christmas afternoon tea , I must say one of the best we've had, lovely thick veg soup and mini Yorkshire puds with beef and horseradish, delicious toasted sandwiches, good selection of mini cakes and more. Pleasant staff will definitely go again , to finish off a cocktail 🍹 each .

Hours are 2200 open walked in at 1800 and they were wrapping up denied me service. A simple change of your hours would be appreciate especially after a 2.5 mile walk.

Really a treat! Great service at the table which makes such a big difference! The food is made with love. This is my second time here and I am looking forward to go again.

Visited this place for family birthday celebration meal , I must say the food was exceptional , and a special word of thanks to the staff and particularly the duty manager who couldn't do enough for us ,and even brought out some complimentary wine as an apology for some food ariving a bit later than the other meals , well done to the Chef for getting all 15 meals out as efficiently as he did , great night , great food , fantastic service , we will defiantly return

The pub itself is well presented, staff friendly and plenty of choice of food and drink. Ordered pie and mash and it came quickly, a little quickly. It was a most disappointing fare, the pie chewy, veg limp and mash dry. The reviews had been positive so needless to say I was disappointed it didn't live up to it.

So disappointed really want this restaurant to succeed. It won't when they advertise sausage and mash in a rich red onion gravy with crispy onion on top. It was thin and obviously dried gravy granuals. Also sausage were deep fried!! Not cooked in onion gravy at all.

Food was very much enjoyed. Catered for free- from products . 9 of us had a lovely meal with no complaints about quality or quantity but on examining the bill later a kids meal was advertised at £6.95 for meal,drink and a pudding but was charged for 3 separate items ! It worth checking before you pay

Absolutely amazing. The pies were so tasty, with plenty of filling and the pastry just melted in your mouth. The pig stack was delicious and full of flavour. The waitress/barmaid was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this place

Popped into have lunch ,bottle of wine and a catchup with a friend yesterday. There was no one in so we could sit anywhere. I haven't been in here since it was the smokehouse and the food was really nice n loads of it.the restaurant is done out lovely it's very clean .the lady behind the bar(elle) was also lovely n chatty. She did get a few more tables in whilst we were eating .definitely will go back

£2.50 for 2 onion rings,but described as a stack on the menu,I hate it when you get conned.Otherwise it's a 5 star,everything else was spot on and the service was fab. Very nice inside and a good selection of keg beers,just let down by the onion rings as if you said £1.25 for each onion ring nobody would be daft enough to buy them.

Nice looking pub, friendly staff popped in for food one evening, had the burger nothing special on par with a spoons but twice the price, nice pale ale on tap

Starters and mains absolutely superb. Chocolate Fudge cake, we ordered 3 and 2 you could hardly say was a portion at all. Such a shame as everything else had been spot on.

Service was good by the bar staff/waitress which gives them the star, unfortunately the food was literally the worst I've ever 'eaten'. We were in at 12 and it was virtually empty...How the chef thought sending 4 plates out in that condition was OK makes me question if he's in the right job because he should have been to embarrassed to send it. The potatoes and Yorkshire where clearly yesterday's food, and it was simply put, disgusting and unedable. Management took the meals off the bill (rightly so when it wasn't eaten) and they themselves could apologize more, but how it even left the kitchen is beyond me.

Decent beer selection, good staff and food not bad at all

The staff were very friendly food amazing large portions, all home cooked. Very good value will definitely go again.

We turned up after a particularly bad day in need of food. Even though they had a table of twenty to deal with they managed to fit us innwith some great food and great sevice.

The food took nearly a hour to come and was overdone on four meals to the point of being inedible. In fairness they were very apologetic and offered to replace the overcooked meals and didn’t charge us for them.

The three most Important aspects of dining out were all met with a very high standard on my two visits since reopening. The food that I and my friends had on the different occasions was spot on. My choice was the chicken pie with buttery mash and veg and both times the whole meal was wonderful. I did see other people's meals as they were brought out and the fish and chips looked amazing so that will be my next choice! Service was as you would like it, polite, efficient and attentive without being intrusive. The place itself is just a really nice place to be. It's extremely smart and comfortable with a lovely atmosphere and it was good to see a decent amount of people in there at lunchtime. Hopefully this continues and The White Hart has much continuing success, as it is well deserved.

Excellent lunch time visit to The White Hart. Lovely decor in the place, clean and inviting. Good choice on the lunch menu which included a five different pies. We had a Steak and Ale pie and a Chicken and Mushroom pie with seasonal veg, mustard mash and lovely gravy. All very well cooked and presented. The service was welcoming, friendly and very efficient. Our pies were washed down with pints of Aspall cider. Altogether an excellent experience for a reasonable price. Background music was good too!

Came for a meal on Saturday night. We both had a vegetarian pie. Absolutely delicious. The wine was good, the food amazing and the staff were very professional. We will certainly be back the next time we are in Grimsby.

Here working staying in a local hotel. So impressed with my meal and service. I eat out a lot including Michelin stared and this place is really worth a visit. Was very quiet but it’s in a quiet town. If this place was in a busy city it would be packed I’m sure of it. Will be back next time I visit.

Nice little haven in the middle of Grimsby, and gluten-free food, too..

Not frequented the White Hart for many a year and its been through a few hands over recent years. A spot of lunch with friends found us in very nice surroundings but with no other customers! Shall we stay to eat or not was the question we asked ourselves? Well all 4 of us were glad we chose to stay. Two plates of Fish and Chips and two plates of Sausage pie were well received and tasted great. We will visit again.

Stupendous fish and chips! It's great to see a few more people have ventured into the town centre to experience this lovely little pub. Super staff make it all the more enjoyable.

I had a cheese and bacon burger with chips and salad. The bun was that over cooked and hard i couldnt eat it. The taste of the burger wasn't brilliant either. I complained to the waitress but nothing was done about it i won't be going back.

I went for lunch with my husband today, I ordered the beef and ale pie, garlic mash, seasonal veg and Gravy, he ordered the cheese and bacon burger, with chips and salad, I thought my meal was OK, apart from one piece of gristle, but my husbands burger wasn't very nice at all, the burger had a rubbery texture, and the toasted bun was nearly cremated! It was dry and hard, the burger had no sauce or relish, which would have made the bun less dry, so it was inedible. (he never leaves anything) there was no condiments on the table, which I didn't notice until the waitress had walked away, we weren't asked if we'd like any sauces. After we'd eaten and the waitress came to clear the table, she asked if everything was OK, we told her, she could see the bun had been left, she did apologise, but there was no offer of a free coffee, or any refund, what's the point of asking, if they don't try and rectify the issue. I also went to the ladies and noticed water dripping down, looked like from the architrave around the door. I was disappointed as had heard good reviews, but I won't go back again.

Waited ages to be served and the food took ages too. The home cooked pies are miniscule.

This is a listed building lost of character. We went at 12 on a Saturday. It was almost empty . The service was excelent . There were no steps so ok for wheel chairs . Plenty of room around the tables shouldn't have a problem getting around . I hadn't a toasted sandwich with a small handful.of salad . 8.00 so not too bad .my friend had meat pie which looked lovely not fat or grisle . With mashed potatoes and vegetables . They only have diet coke however . Nice placev

Went here this Sunday 26/02/23 For the 1st time for a Roast beef Dinner. It was lovely! 😋 The Beef was so tender, it fell apart. & staff were friendly & Polite. Will definitely be going back!

Food very tasty. Pies are highly recommended. Only scored a 4 on service as they were short staffed. However the service provided was very good considering the situation. Would have been 5 if enough staff were on shift Atmosphere was great, nice and relaxed for a lunchtime.

The sausage and apple chutney pie was great, service was very friendly and helpful. We will be going again.

I had the fish pie...no fish only mash and a hint of fish. I did complain and they did not offer any money off. The chef blamed it on the "new girl ". Wont be going back

This lovely old pub has been rescued. The sausage and onion pie which I chose was an inspired idea and the roast potatoes and green veg were perfectly cooked. That and a pint for less than £20. Well done.

8 of us preordered meals 'hour wait for meals ??also it's just glorified pie and mash small portions considering it was 12.50 a meal Really disappointed

The owners have really gone to town on this lovely old pub,the decor is absolutely fantastic. Made very welcome from the moment I stepped through the door. I ordered the sirloin steak and a pot of tea, and I have to say it was bloody lovely! The portions were plentiful, and the steak was cooked to perfection. The pricing was spot on, and all in all, I had a very nice evening . Thanks to Lee and his team ,I would recommend this venue to anyone.

Had a lovely Christmas Pie over the Cgristmas period! The only disappointment was they didn't sell Vouchers for Christmas Gifts. To my knowledge, they lost at least £80 from my family!

Home cooked fresh food is getting rare in the pub trade, this place is bringing that back, lovely well cooked food which tasted delicious and portioned appropriately, keep it going guys !

Tasty food and friendly service

Great looking place, great covid secure welcome (asked to scan app, tables spaced out, lots of disinfectant), priced fairly. The issue is the food, we had two placed of the smoked BBQ where you can pick your meats, some of the food had started to go cold, but you can tell it was put on the plate warm as the top was cold, but the middle was warm. I think the food was put on the pass or out for the server to pick up and was left for some time. The brisket was warmish, but the ribs and pulled pork were turning cold, The side salad was all wilted, which again leans to the point that the food had been left at the pass / heat lamps for some time. With all good American BBQ, you have to have the "slaw" (coleslaw), i was extremely disappointed with the store bought coleslaw, as i would have expected an American style crunchy slaw and not some UK tesco version full of mayo. Onion rings were ok, not too sure if these were home made or not... Don't get the milkshakes either. Not worth coming too, I don't know if this is a one off, but next time i will be going to Red's True BBQ in Leeds (good food is worth travelling too).

Food was really poor. Chewy brisket that was clearly warmed up on a griddle, luke warm pulled pork and a just cooked "foot long" sausage, I doubt any of this food has ever seen a smoker never mind been in one. 1 star for the frozen sweet potato fries.

The pit tray was heaven, friendly welcoming staff and bang on food. If you like melt in your mouth then this is the place to go in Grimsby. An easy 10/10

Ok food, but quite annoying after two meals.

The atmosphere is amazing , the food is spectacular and the staff are ace, been here a few times now and each time has not let me down, each time the food has been extremely high quality. And the staff are always friendly and attentive. I will be recommending it to all of my friends and family.

This was an overall great experience; they had super friendly staff and the food was tasty; you could tell it was fresh and good quality. I have seen this place quite a few times and for some reason never been in, I went in just before Christmas, just as everywhere else was so busy; I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff seemed in good spirits, unfortunately it's all too often the case these days that servers are miserable as they are treated terribly, so this was a real breath of fresh air, for me the servers really make the experience. On the food, you could tell that the food freshly cooked and tasty, which is refreshing from the typical ‘ping’ ‘ping’ type food typically served. The cost of the food is slightly higher than others in the area, however that extra cost is clearly spent on the raw ingredients which on balance makes it good value overall. This is a perfect place for a friends or family get together. I will definitely be coming back, double thumbs up.
