The best restaurants serving British food in Beverley Rural East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Two seniors on their way up to Scarborough saw the road sign and decided to stop off for a light lunch. The pub looked delightful from the small village road and our welcome was fine. We opted to lunch in the main bar, and service was slick , polite and the staff pleasantly dressed in their 'sort of' uniform. We only required a very light meal, but the menu provided was certaily full and many options were available. We opted for cheese on toast, with a salad garnish and chilli jam, plus a single portion of chips. The meal arrived in a short time and was very well presented, with the 'jam' cooked into the cheese. A very pleasant stop, and certainly a pub that we can recommend, although in our opinion the pricing at £23.00 for 2 x Rarebit is certainly on the full side !!

It's a lovely place to visit, staff gives really good attention and meals are delicious.

Just spent the day and night at The Gnu Inn at North Newbald and it was amazing the food,drinks and hospitality was fantastic and I would definitely recommend The Gnu Burger 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔.

Popped in last week for lunch. Staff were very polite and friendly. My daughter inlaw and myself had the steak pie which was absolutely delicious ! My son had the burger and really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend . Can't wait for our next visit

Called in for Sunday lunch on way back from coast to Leeds. I had pork & husband had beef, both came with Yorkshire puddings, loads of veg & we opted for roast potatoes. Service fast & food was great, will definitely call again

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch here today. All of the food was fantastic but the veg (which in some pubs and restaurants are undercooked, too hard and tasteless) were cooked to perfection. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. We just had a thoroughly good time. Thanks.

I took my friend she had never been before as the day was so nice it was a good drive. We had a great time.

The Sunday Roast and the Smoked haddock was excellent so 5 star for that but the negatives are , charged £3.95 for a bottle of water which you don't realise that's it chargeable till you read the bottom of the menu but did not get the menu and we had opened the water considering the food is expensive it's a bit underhanded you should be asked . Plus strictly no small portion or light bite my partner only eats a small lunch We were not asked if everything was ok till we asked for the bill and the staff did not seem welcoming We had the crab cone which you have to see the size to belive its so small Wine is also on expensive side In all nice lunch felt overcharged so no tip

Love this place. Great choice of beers. Lots of space inside and out. Lovely place to have a pint in the sun in the extensive beer gardens.

Had lunch myself and my family, food was terrible and cold. The owner “Craig” was very abrupt. A lady called Nicola was very rude also, please AVOID!!!

Let’s turn a corner from our most recent experience of this place: It’s so sad to see a pub, a eating place and social centre slip so badly, My wife and I brought old friends here for a midweek evening meal and how poor the whole place felt, dirty, cold, unkempt and even the public toilets provided really run down. This pub needs more than just a bit of TLC; The whole place needs to turn a corner

Shocking food,service and hygiene. Wait times unreal even though nearly empty. Dirty glasses etc. even for a marstons this was poor

Great little country pub, had a lovely family meal, great options and vegan options too, service was brilliant and the meal was gorgeous! Happy family all round! We will be back soon

We went on a sunny morning and sat in the garden.....we thought it was very welcoming and food was good and coffee was hot....(been to chain of coffee shops in past who serve luke warm coffee!!!!!) Very pleasant....

Went here with good review from a friend, whom came along with us for her birthday treat. I thought altho, it wasn't too busy we waited at least 20 mins+ before our meal arrived . We all ordered the ' Roasted lamb rump and mini pie duo' asked how we would like the lamb cooked etc. When the meal ( finally) arrived didn't understand why asked, how we would like our lamb cooked.. It looked like the meat had been shared between the 3 of us. Can only describe it as 3 small round clumps on each plate didn't even resemble a roasted lamb rump. Therefore a little disappointed with main meal.
