The Hide Restaurant is part of the Tickton Grange Hotel, located just a brief taxi ride outside Beverley (I wanted to enjoy wine with my meal, so took a cab). I was there on a Sunday evening, and for most of my meal, to my surprise I was the only person in the restaurant, but of course Brits tend to go for a Sunday lunch at the weekend. Nonetheless I was not hurried or fawned over more than a guest would have been if the place was busy. Service was impeccable. I enjoyed a delicious cocktail of gin and crème de mûr (a new one to me) in the cocktail lounge before being led through to the dining room. The starter was an ingenious combination of pork cheek and smoked eel with beetroot and apple that was too tempting to pass by. And my main course of duck breast with a duck leg croquette also earned great satisfaction. I dined in three Michelin restaurants in Beverley on this visit, and Hide was solidly in second place.

We have had several afternoon teas at Tickton Grange, always of a high standard and once for a Sunday lunch and decided time to try the à la carte for an evening meal. We were not disappointed, from the starter to the dessert and subsequent tea served in the lounge after it was all excellent. It was fresh, tasty, well presented and would highly recommend.

Such beautiful period premises. Interior is also quite stunning. The food is excellent- top quality ingredients. Imaginative dishes. Extremely well presented. Some interesting choices on the wine flight which worked well. The downside- service and top end pricing. I also found a £5 charge for a coffee rather annoying after a £100 per head dining experience.

Having been to many excellent restaurants over the years this meal showed particular glimpses of what may be a bright future. A couple of the dishes were of high quality (smoked carrot & cucumber buttermilk) however we felt the falafel dish lacked finesse and quality. The service sadly does not give the chef justice in what they are trying to accomplish with their food. In order to gain that Michelin star the service will need vast improvement. We were served by two front of house staff members during the meal. A young lady who was very engaging and took time to explain the food, it’s source and stories of its creation however the male member of staff was not engaging, far to panicked and let down the overall service. Very disappointing. The food at the £50-£60 price point (6 courses) would of be adequate however at £75 it was far to expensive for the quality of the service and overall package. The chef has an exciting future with some slight refining of courses however the service has a long way to come to justify the Michelin star price point.

I experienced the Hide Tasting Dinner. The staff were lovely and friendly with the chef speaking to individuals after the meal. I also sampled the breakfast and afternoon tea which I can highly recommend. The 7 course tasting menu is one of the best I have eaten. Snacks at the beginning included charcoal cheddar tartlet. A dream as I adore charcoal cheddar cheese. We had large slices of bread accompanied by caramel and yeast flavoured butters. A bit different but very tasty. One of my favourite courses was the chicken wing served with chorizo jam. Tender chicken and the jam was unusual but so tasty. Mackerel and lamb were included in the menu. Accompanying the lamb was asparagus. I am not usually a fan but the asparagus tasted really crunchy it was good. Two sweets concluded the desert courses. The rhubarb with elderflower and meringue tasted particularly good. There was a chocolate caramel pudding. My husband wondered about having the cheese course but had eaten enough so no room to sample that. We had tea coffee and truffles after the wonderful meal.

I wish I could give this restaurant 0/5. We entered the hotel and had to find our way to the restaurant as there was no one there to greet us when we arrived and the total lack of staff was shocking for such a highly regarded place. We were stood at the reception for 15 minutes before we decided to walk around and find it for ourselves. It was 30 degree heat and when we asked to sit outside for our lunch meal we were told we weren’t allowed (even though there were tables free and there were many other people eating afternoon tea outside) so we ended up being the only table in a silent dining room which made us feel extremely awkward and uncomfortable. There was also no drinks menu - what restaurant doesn’t have a drinks menu? And when we asked the waitress which drinks were available she said she didn’t know. This was not the young waitress’ fault in all honesty, she was probably overwhelmed as she seemed to be running around on her own looking after all the tables so god knows where all the other staff were. We left immediately. Would absolutely not recommend to anyone and will never been returning.

We booked the taster menu for my birthday and weren’t disappointed. The food was wonderful and although we were wary of the venison tartar it was one of our favourite courses. We would encourage you to have the accompanying wines to embrace the full experience. They were wonderful, all different and lent themselves to the most vivid descriptions after a sniff. The service is the best I have experienced with Cassy giving us an explanation of the ingredients in our food. All locally sourced ingredients. We will be back. Immerse yourself in a luxurious experience to be savoured. At about £100 each with wine we considered it excellent value for money. I didn’t take many pictures which is always a good sign that I was enjoying the experience!

It was our first visit since January, therefore the experience was very different. The covid protocols are excellent but need the guests to follow them. The menu is now a 7 course tasting menu, with two desserts. My favourite courses were the pulled pork with langoustine and the first dessert of a mousse and apple sorbet. The courses are served to all of the diners at the same time and the staff managed this very well, leaving an appropriate gap between courses. Indeed the staff had to deal with some unappreciative guests on the night. This they did as discreetly as possible and then apologized to us.

To celebrate my 70th birthday I hosted an afternoon tea one week, and a Sunday lunch the following week in the Broadley room. The venue, food and service were excellent. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and relaxing. We had the afternoon tea in the residents lounge which is very comfortable, and the kitchen was able to cater for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. The tea was delicious. For the Sunday lunch we hired the Broadley room which really suited our party of 10, The room is very stylish and the oval table meant that we could all speak to each other easily. Once again they were able to cater for special dietary needs, and the food was excellent. The service on both occasions was faultless and all the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The food was lovely, scallops perfectly cooked and piping hot followed by meltingly tender beef. I finished my meal with a selection of cheeses from a very interesting cheese board. The other half enjoyed his pearsnip pudding ( it's a secret). The interior has had a recentish update, cosy understated country house vibe with nods to Hockney who lived and painted locally for a time.Service was attentive without being overbearing and the young staff team were thoroughly engaged in the process. Our waitress was relaxed and friendly and clearly a people person. Our taxi let us down at the end of the night and as another wasn't available for around an hour the lovely owner Paul really bailed us out by offering us a lift home, what a complete gentleman.

Service by two young staff was efficient, warm and attentive but never obtrusive. Restaurant was quite busy but people should be queuing outside. Called on spec last evening in the hope that there may be a free table in the restaurant. It turned out that every table was free so I was a little unnerved as we sat down having had drinks in the library first. I'd opted for the 3 course menu at £45 whilst my wife had gone or 2 at ten pounds less. I had a venison tartare to start and my main was wagyu beef and cheek whilst my company went with the sea bream. We were delivered a beautifully presented complimentary fish course initially. It was the precursor of great things to come. I opted for cheese and biscuits to finish whilst my wife had the rhubarb canelloni which she said was sublime. The cheese was super too. Made even more so by the fact that our waiting staff positively encouraged me to try more. It is a constant disappointment to me when either the cheese is removed from the fixed price menu or the staff get sniffy if you require more than three little pieces. The hide restaurant was generous to a fault in this regard. Please do try the old king Cole. I know it looks like black pudding but its hella good! Service was superb and the food was faultless. We had a glass of wine with our meals and coffee and bon buns back in the library to finish. A beautiful house set in charming gardens. My only hope is that the sums are stacking up. There is no justice when a restaurant this good is deserted on a Thursday evening. Fixed price dining of this quality deserves support. I heartily recommend you to visit and urge you to support it.

I can’t actually find words to express how incredible my dining experience here was......but I’ll try. From the canapé (mackerel with a wasabi cream, not hot but flavourful) to the warm artisan bread (goats cheese and onion - divine) with salted or smoked paprika butter, the ‘additions’ were gorgeous. The food I actually ordered, the lamb with garlic miso cream, was a treat for the eyes before the mouth. Various coloured roasted baby beets, asparagus and broccoli with a dauphinois type potato, perfectly cooked to my request, crusted lamb. It looked gorgeous and the taste didn’t disappoint. I spend my life in disappointing hotel restaurants and this defied all of my expectations. From the warm welcome at reception, to the impeccable service from the lovely and personable Amy, and the smooth and delicious carafe of Malbec everything was perfection. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I can’t remember the last time I’ve had such an incredible dining experience. Thank you all SO much. Amy, and Connor and team in the kitchen, you rock

As this restaurant is listed so highly in trip advisor we have intended on going for a long time. The reality did not meet up to expectations. The surroundings are superb and the service excellent but the food was pretty average. We had a tasteless game terrine and a nothing special goats cheese to start. For mains the venison was very tasty but the pork belly was not crisp and again average. The home cooked rolls and truffle butter were tasty and the strudel for dessert also tasty. So on the whole a bit disappointing and not somewhere we will rush back to.

Between us we enjoyed Grilled goats cheese, crab bon bons and game terrine. For main courses 2 of us had duck, one salmon and a tender beef barrel. Tickton Grange is a former country house once belonging to Harrison-Broadley family. Located just a few miles from the historic town of Beverley the hotel It has lots of character. It is quiet and relaxing with the bar once being a sitting room with an open fire and high ceiling. Refreshing the house is still in its former state which adds to its character. There are individual rooms which can be hired for up to 20 guests for lunch. We booked a family lunch for my dads 70th in 2012. What is nice is that you have a private room for guests for several hours, (5 hours in our case) with dinner being served by the hotel staff. We returned as a family group of 16 for lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and almost had the hotel and bar to ourselves. The service and food was excellent and we will definitely return again as a group sometime in the future.

Going to the Hide restaurant is a little like stepping back in time, which has its good/bad points. The staff are very accommodating and you are well looked after. We had pre-dinner drinks in the lounge - slightly dated but had a big roaring fire to sit round so this was a good start to the evening. The menu is slightly long winded and printed in the most awful typeface which makes reading them a little difficult. I note it is the same on the Internet. It would look so much better with a simple typeface and less words. The food was good but not fantastic or wow. The main course was served with great aplomb but actually was a bit of an anticlimax when eating it. I had duck which came with a fondant potato and a small ramekin of root vegetables - all slightly underwhelming and no colour on the plate. Taste was ok but again lacked any true punch. The staff were helpful throughout but the restaurant was pretty empty for a Friday night and this is not a cheap meal out. In fact I think it was over priced for what we got. The hotel is not a 4/5* so the restaurant needs to think who their customers are and maybe modernise. A few easy tweaks and it could be lovely. The style of how the food is presented and served is dated and not fitting for its surroundings. There are other places to eat in Tickton that I think are better re food, ambience and style.

We were a party of 7 celebrating a birthday with an evening meal at the Tickton Grange. The staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. The various dishes chosen by our party members varied from being good - to okay - to weird - to 'could do better'. For myself, I was reasonably happy with the standard of the food - but others in our party were not. Our birthday lady was most upset about the toughness of her duck in the main course she had chosen but being quite a shy, retiring lady she did not want to complain at the time as she felt it would cast a cloud over the evening. That, in itself, is not good but it serves to underline that the excessive prices being charged are certainly are not justified in the standard of the food. A pleasant evening otherwise, apart from being soured by this. Wouldn't recommend the food unless you have a healthy bank balance, carefree attitude ... and a cold!

Booked on the strength of previous reviews-wasn't disappointed. Staying here prompted me to research the UK's star rating system which I discovered is somewhat disjointed e.g. have to have a pool to get 4*. In other words, don't be put off by its 3* rating...it most definitely has 4* quality and service. I'd got fed up of corporate 'soul-less' hotels and pools hotel residents have to share with non-residents and kids clubs! I also feel that being privately owned by people who so obviously care about your comfort is evident. Love the fact that it is unpretentious whilst maintaining very high standards. Tip- Two great menus, and don't be afraid to ask for what you fancy at breakfast- they most certainly will accommodate. Food was excellent. I also found it refreshing that staff appear to be local, chatty if wanted, and very helpful. I shall definitely stay here again. My one concern is that I'd read they do not accommodate children, yet a child was evident during my stay? Not a problem for me, but now confused as to whether this hotel is child free or not? As with many hotels, weddings are held here and with only having 21 rooms, I would not fancy being resident unless I was a wedding guest. I'd check before you book as it could alter the whole ambience of your stay.

The last time that I reviewed The Hide restaurant (April 2016), I enthused about our entire lunchtime experience. I stated that "as long as this package is maintained, this will be our restaurant of choice for those "special" occasions".Based on that assessment, I booked lunch in the restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our experience means that I must now withdraw (or at least heavily qualify) my endorsement. On arrival, we were escorted to the bar by a pleasant receptionist. We were offered the choice of a seat in the bar or a seat on the patio outside. Since it was an unusually hot day, and there was no shade over the outside seating, we opted for a seat in the bar. From that time we appeared to become invisible. After five or ten minutes of being ignored, we managed to make contact with a young man (presumably a trainee) who provided our pre-lunch drinks. Unfortunately, the drinks arrived before the menus. We found that The Hide no longer offers lunches from the a la carte menu and that the lunchtime menu only offered three (very unexciting) main courses. or sandwiches. We paid (£15.10) for our two gin and tonics and left to initiate "Plan B".Perhaps others can review the dinner menu but we will not be returning for lunch unless there is a major change of policy.

My wife and I visited Tickton Grange to celebrate our midweek Anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Hide Restaurant. First impressions were good, with attractive grounds and ample car parking. On entering, we were greeted by the friendly receptionist who showed us through to the Lounge and introduced us to Charlotte (who looked after us from fixing our pre lunch drinks to payment, all with smiling efficiency). While we studied the menus, we enjoyed a particularly good gin and tonic (Tanqueray 10 with Fevertree tonic, ice and lime). Charlotte took our orders, willingly noting our requests for minor changes to the dishes, and later took us through to the restaurant. Here we were impressed by the decoration, the well spaced tables, the views over the well maintained grounds and the crisp white table linen. For starters we opted for locally smoked rainbow trout and goats cheese respectively. Both were delicious, well presented and suitably garnished. For mains we both chose fillet steaks, cooked to our (different) tastes. As requested when ordering, the chef substituted the fondant potatoes on the menu by chips (one of our benchmarks). Everything was as close to perfect as one could wish. The meal was complimented by a very nice (and reasonably priced) bottle of Cotes du Rhone. After all that, we did not feel the need for a sweet and concluded with coffees and Tickton truffles.Mention must also be made of the choice of special breads (and butters) and the chef's complimentary amuse-bouche of pumpkin soup. Nice touches!Yes, the Hide is in the upper price bracket but we felt that this is justified by the overall ambience of the place, the quality of the food and the charm and professionalism of the staff. As long as this package is maintained, this will be our restaurant of choice for those "special" occasions.

As locals having the ambulance station at tickton we thought we'd try the local grange.valentine's day treat the champers went down a treat In the waiting room whilst choosing from the menu.Greeted to our table then served pumpkin soup complemtry.. small but exquisitemy partner now wants me to start making it. Along with the crab n goats cheese starters again very well presented but finished in 2.The venison n the lobster more on the plate but not much more but finely cooked justifiable flamborian lobster... £140 for the bill... modern restaurant in old grounds something needs to be played down I felt the bill was paying for the newly refurnishment. But overall fantastic food..

I always feel a little awkward eating out due to allergies but the staff were so helpful and knew what I could eat without having to check with the kitchen. I was surprised that most things on the menu were available to me. I couldn't eat any of the desserts on the set menu but they asked if chef could just arrange me a plate of mini desserts. Theses were amazing. I was a little concerned to find shortbread on my plate but was reassured it was both dairy and gluten free. The food was very good and the service was even better. The staff were absolutely lovely.

We got married at Tickton Grange a year ago so we decided to come back for a meal on our anniversary. We were not disappointed. On arrival we were welcomed by a friendly receptionist who showed us through to the library bar area. We were quickly attended to by the waiter who waited on us all night. We ordered drinks and were given time to look through the menu. After ordering we sat and enjoyed our drinks for a short while before being taken through to our table. There was only one other occupied table in the dining room which meant it was a little quiet. We had three courses and my husband and I enjoyed all the food. Not only did it taste great but it looked amazing too. To top off the night we were given a small box of Tickton truffles by way of an anniversary gift which was a very nice and much appreciated end to our night.

We visited this restaurant with friends by way of a celebration. The establishment consists of a Hotel, Restaurant and function room for large parties. Without question the food was truly superb with varieties for all courses of the meal. In particular, the Sea bass was superb as was the other options. A lovely meal in a lovely environment.

The two crabs starter was excellent, this was followed by Venison which had to be returned as it was tough and overcooked, my Daughter had a Fillet of Beef, when the order was placed she asked the waiter who served us if he needed to know how she would like her steak cooking his reply was 'we don't request this information as the chef will cook it medium to rare which is how it should be served' .When the meal was served this also was returned the steak was overcooked. This was our first visit and first impression stay.

I booked my graduation meal here after deciding that the restaurant and country club was a good fit for a special occasion. On arriving we were taken to the bar room for a drink before our meal, despite being 20 minutes late. This added to the experience yet we did think that the room could have been updated a little as looked a little tired. The dining room however was lovely and we were seated far enough from the only other table that I could read my speech and enjoy ourselves. The food was very good, as was the service. All courses were Everyone enjoyed their food and the overall experience. A lovely way to conclude my university time in the area. Perfect for a special celebration.

We stayed at Tickton Grange for one night and opted to eat in the restaurant. It was a very special place - not many covers at all, which is reflected in the quite pricey menu. We had the two crab starter then the lobster pot - a tasty pot of lobster in a lovely sauce. Shared a cheese platter of local cheeses. Wine list interesting but expensive. The breakfast the next day was truly delicious - and all locally sourced ingredients. Again great service. The caricatures of the staff on the walls was a nice touch and showed staff are valued.

Let's be clear on this from the out-set, The Hide is pushing to be the best and they are getting pretty close, but.......When you are paying top-dollar for fine dining, the service is a very important part of the experience. The thing here is, that the food quality, taste, variety and presentation is so extremely good, the negative points are magnified because the food is so damn good. The staff are friendly, helpful and really try their best, but it would seem to us that a restaurant of this quality needs a top-notch front of shop manager making sure that things are running smoothly. For instance, we had both white and red wine. We were not offered 2 glasses, we had to flush the 1st glass when we switched between white & red. The 1st glasses of wine were poured for us, but then it was pretty much self-service from then on in. And then when the waiter did attend to the wine, he poured white wine into one of guests glass containing an inch or so of water. Sorry, this sounds fussy, but I hope the management of the Hide can take this as constructive critisim. If this was any lesser restaurant or gastro-pub, we would be giving this 4*, but the Hide is striving for greatness & it is already there with the food, so why not the service?

Very disappointing. We had a lovely time because of the company not because of the quality of afternoon tea. Teabags really not good enough at this price. They need to take a long hard look at themselves. Sandwiches were minimal and cakes were non Existent...just a bit of muffin, shortbread and carrot cake. Scone was nice but tiny. Have been to a lot better locally for a lit less money. Try tC patisserie or ferriby tearoom for a better experience. Only thing going for tickton was comfy venue and pleasant staff.

The food was absolutely excellent, some of the best we'd ever had. The only downside was that they simply couldn't get their heads around my husband's dairy allergy When we booked we told them he was dairy free then when we rang to confirm the booking this morning they said oh yes it's gluten free so we advised again no it's dairyWhen we arrived tonight they gave us the menu with no mention of what was dairy free. We mentioned it and they said ah yes it's gluten intolerance isn't it?! So we explained again at which point they sorted it for us. They brought a yoghurt amuse bouche, which we sent back and try swiftly changed Then we had starters all fine and allergen suitableThen main came with creamy potatoes so we asked again for q dairy free option which the chef sorted ASAP The they gave us the desert menu and when we asked which was dairy free they said none of them but the chef swiftly sorted some sorbets and fruits which were delicious So all in all great but the service let it down a bit by constantly forgetting the allergy issue which we found a bit embarrassing as we had to new mentioning it Would recommend over the westwood as it's such above venue

What an absolute triumph! Having recently visited The Pipe & Glass and The Star at Harome, Tickton is serving the finest food in the most exquisite surroundings in Yorkshire. Drinks in the very well appointed drawing room to start, followed by a string of smash hits across both starters, mains and desserts (for six diners) made for one of the most sensational lunches out to date anywhere, including in London. Tickton is at the very top of its game both in terms of quality of ingredients, cooking and service. The wine was also exceptional both in terms of quality and value. An absolute must for anyone who really values quality above all. Fantastic in every respect.

There were 7 in our party and we had 3 courses. The overall opinion was that the library bar was delightful but the dining room was very tacky. Nothing matched. The food was delivered in good time, beautifully presented, and in main was well cooked - however the chips were over cooked and we thought it a little pricey for what we got. The service was fine - but one waiter was very shy, timid and visibly shaking - the other was loud and shouted rather than talked. Dx

We ate here last week to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was an exquisite evening from start to finish. On arrival we sat in the bar, roaring fire to keep us all warm and were brought drinks immediately. The champagne was beautifully chilled and our glasses were often filled by staff. The restaurant itself had a quiet hum about it creating a warm atmosphere. We all had 3 courses... something I rarely do as most portions are too large but The Hide had it just right. Delicate flavours throughout and beautifully presented. We finished our time off in the bar which rounded the evening off perfectly. The staff were a perfect balance of attentiveness but not intrusive. An excellent evening and while it is not the cheapest restaurant in the area it is certainly one of the best and well worth that little bit extra. I will be visiting again.

My partner booked us in for Christmas dinner here. What a lovely present! It is a while since I have eaten here but the experience was, again, delightful. Well thought through reception with each group taken to their individual tables. Attentive staff who gave great service. A mixed menu for the occasion with no pressure to eat traditional Christmas fare and some nice touches like small bottles of Sloe Gin on the table. Well done (again) Tickton Grange. We booked Boxing Day lunch at Tickton Grange from the Festive Menu. I popped in, as it is local to our home town of Beverley, to pay the deposit and pick up menus. The receptionist was very friendly and efficient. The hotel has a warm, cosy and elegant ambience about it - perfect for Boxing Day lunch I thought. When the day came it did not disappoint. My husband, mum and I arrived and were shown through to the bar for a pre-lunch drink where we sat very comfortably in front of the large log fire. We were shown through to the restaurant where there was one sitting. All tables in the restaurant were occupied and we had a very pleasant lunch. The food was excellent, accompanied by a nice fine wine. The staff were very attentive but not overbearing and the the atmosphere was perfect.

4 of us went for the "Lunch for Less" menu on the Saturday after Christmas and were all very impressed by the ambience, the staff and the food. Excellent choice, terrific value and wonderful tastes. The Hotel was buzzing with a wedding party as well as what seemed to be a large family get together so the atmosphere was lively but never intrusive,. It just felt "happy"We had a lovely large table in the window and with agreement from the staff we enjoyed a very leisurely afternoon, taking our time over 3 fabulous courses and a bottle of excellent white wine and coffee.Total bill £140 for 4 which given the quality and service represents, in our view, excellent value for money.

We arrived after booking a week earlier for "Afternoon Tea" ( taking my elderly Step Mum for a Christmas treat) .The staff very polite, helpful, and friendly, shown to our table and everything was lovely, the surroundings and decor' very good. The afternoon tea arrived, WELL, quite honestly in my opinion there was not sufficient food for even two people, the sandwiches dry and hardly any fillings at all. The cakes must have been out for what seemed to be hours as they were dry as well. No one ask if everything was OK, even when I eventually found someone to pay, the waiter ask " All ok Mate" and even when I told him "not really" the reply was " SORRY MATE". This was not the person to be at anything but a road side café.Very expensive, not worth the money, and will not be going back.

Had lovely lunch here with my in laws. Beautiful setting, excellent attentive staff and wonderful tasty food. Taken to our table immediately as the bar area was very busy and staff recognised that my Mother in Law had to sit down. We chose from the A la carte menu which had seasonal Xmas food. Each course was beautiful presented, very tasty and plentiful. Staff were just the right blend of attentiveness without being over bearing. Restaurant had partions around tables which made it feel private with a good ambience. 3 course meal was £26.50 a head which I felt was very reasonable considering the amount of food we had. Followed by coffee and truffles. Will definitely be returning.

My wife and I visited the Hide restaurant at The Tickton Grange Hotel and what a lovely evening we had. On a cold night the Hide was warm and comfortable. The staff were attentive and friendly and the service throughout the meal was excellent. We opted for the house Red an Australian Shiraz which we both enjoyed. The menu was wide and varied without being over facing and the whole three courses were excellent. My highlights were the potted pheasant starter and the delightful Gourmand Espresso desert which consisted of four miniature deserts served with an espresso coffee. We were so relaxed we couldn't believe how long we had sat at the dinning table before retiring. We will be back for diner but also with parents to enjoy an afternoon tea. This is one Hotel who's restaurant has not gone off the boil.

I stayed overnight before a friend's wedding in May. The grounds are a total delight with a little belt of woodland which was then carpeted with bluebells and wood anemones. A small gym has all you need for a quick workout. The rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable. An excellent, quiet night's sleep. Dinner in the restaurant was beyond excellent - the food was superb, imaginatively put together and made out of the finest local ingredients. The decor is that of a comfortable but spacious country house hotel - at the top of its game. The wedding was dealt with superbly - it was such a memorable day. Staff are very efficient and unobtrusive but happy to chat when spoken to. All in all, I can say a day in Tickton Grange is as good as a week elsewhere for that great sense of well-being you derive.

As i was my wife's 70th birthday, our two boys and their wives took the day off work and we spent most of the afternoon over a champagne lunch. The restaurant lacked atmosphere, which it would at that time on a Monday, but the food was good, the service was excellent and the venue is pretty good anyway. Advertise the twilight package as the bridge with lights....the lights arnt even working! You say the Ceromany goes straight into the reception reception...NO IT DOESNT. Had my guest waiting for 45 minutes to change the room thinking our reception was in the main pub! They didn't even notify my guest what was going on..The DJ didn't even turn up on time! Or took over half a hour for them to set up when they finally did arrive .I had to prompt Jenny for my buffet...then themicrophone wasn't even working! then first dance then cake cutting. Didn't even let any of my guests know what was going on...half of my guests left before the first dance... Our room was dirty, even 2 of our guests who booked accommodation said there rooms was filthy too! And last but not least...as I was walking into the ceromany in the holding bit before I walked to my groom, one of the workers opened the door to speak to staff (WHEN WE WASN'T READY) and my now husband saw me wich just ruerned everything. Never been so disappointed.
