Rossini & Damsel in East Riding of Yorkshire

I've used the takeaway service several times now since covid and the first couple of times was hit and miss. I was not impressed with the plain rather overpriced hot dog. But I persevered and I have now discovered the beef Piri burger which is delicious, their chips are genuinely the nicest I've ever had! However, the 'home made' desserts were really disappointing. They come in a carton with the manufacturer's name on it. Clearly factory made and frozen, very small portion at £3.80 each I feel completely ripped off!

Ordered a takeaway from here tonight and the food was fantastic. Good value and would highly recommend. Will certainly be returning.

Ordered a takeaway from here - absolutely delicious! Gyros great, chicken thighs in sauce great too. Prices usual for takeaways but quality is up there.

Had 2 hunters chicken burgers delivered. Absolutely gorgeous. Not at all greasy. Very very tasty. Delivered in specified time and with no fuss.

Been many of times for family meals never been dissatisfied .food fantastic and really friendly staff.takeaways at mo due to COVID are fantastic also can’t wait to get back in this place when restrictions are eased.

Ordered two Ribeye steaks medium rare and ended up with two rump steaks that were rare. A bloody disgrace as this place should be closed down.

After our first visit we were only too happy to come again, this time with family. But this time it didn't live up to the same standards. Three people ordered medium rare steaks. When they came out one was clearly well done so we complained to our waitress. She disappeared with the steak to discuss it with the chef but didn't apologise. She returned with the original steak saying that the chef said that was how he always cooked medium rare steak. We said this was unacceptable so she took the plate away again. When she subsequently brought it back, whilst it was better it now had peppercorn sauce on instead of the mushroom sauce as ordered. So it was sent back again. Finally a satisfactory outcome but by this time the rest of us had just about finished. We also had an issue with a food intolerance with one of our desserts. Overall a very disappointing experience. We never received an apology and didn't leave a tip (almost unheard of for me as I am usually extremely generous). We haven't been back as there are much better places we have found subsequently that offer better food, service and at a more reasonable price.

About 4 weeks ago we called into the restaurant for a bite to eat. When our meals arrived they were only like warm, as it was only a snack we decided to eat it and on paying the bill we mentioned it, to be told we could have a free coffee. We declined the offer and said we would come back. Today we went back and ordered 2 coffee's and 2 Pasta main courses. When it arrived it was red hot but totally inedible,something in the sauce was definitely off. Again we went to complain to be told it was because they have a new chef. We will definitely not be going back.

I came here with my partner and his work colleagues for their Christmas party (for the second year in a row here) I knew I would be happy coming here as the drinks menu is fantastic and the food was tasty. For my drinks, I had a mango daiquiri (£5.95) a banana daiquiri (£5.95) and a strawberry shortcake (£5.00) (amaretto, strawberry and cream) My favourite drink was definitely the strawberry shortcake, a pretty baby pink cocktail served in a hurricane style glass. I (and other members of the party) was surprised by the size of it. We all ordered from the Christmas menu. My starter was a mini Mediterranean pastry, my main was the St Nicholas Christmas burger, my dessert was the plum and almond tart, served with cream, and a sprinkling of chocolate powder and icing sugar on the plate. My favourite dish was the pudding. I found the burger bun to be a bit well done. The night ended with mince pies and hot drinks, I had a hot chocolate with a syrup. We had a young waitress who was very smiley and well mannered.

We’ve just moved to the area and called in on the off chance that they had a table free, which they did. We had a really enjoyable meal which was very tasty, the service was great and the bill was very reasonable. We will definitely eat here again.

Visited on our way back home to Cleethorpes from York, the food was delicious ! We had the Gamberoni pizza, lasagne, giant Bradley burger and the chicken and vegetable skewers which we would all highly recommend! We will definitely be returning, all the staff were lovely, very helpful and accommodating! Also a very reasonable price 😊 Thank you !!

A meeting of friends was the reason for our visit. On arrival, after being shown to our table, we gave a drinks order which was brought quickly by the pleasant waitress. The extensive menu gave plenty of choice, although predominantly Italian. Alongside the main menu which offered a two course or three course fixed price menu, was also a specials board with a number of other tempting dishes. My companions decided on a two course menu, and I plumped for just one course, the Cajun prawn sizzler. This came with side salad, coleslaw, corn on the cob, chips and onion rings. The prawns were plump and juicy and served on a bed of peppers and onions. A very good sized portion. My friend chose a chicken calzone served with a tomato sauce and was packed with filling, and was very tasty. Our other companion chose Italian meatballs served with risotto rice and salad. She also was impressed with her meal, being a good portion and nicely presented. Although I did not have a dessert, but a coffee, both friends chose a chocolate orange cake with cream and a salted caramel cake with ice cream . The first was a large slice of a light orange cake, which reported as delicious. The salted caramel cake was lovely, however a little sickly and my friend was unable to finish her portion. A total of £60 for 3 mains and 2 desserts with 4 soft drinks and 3 hot drinks. Great value for a delicious meal. One word of criticism - a terrible draught from an open door on an icy evening is not a pleasant experience. It was impossible to get warm again after this and my friend ended up wearing her coat towards the end of our meal. Did affect our comfort and enjoyment on this occasion. Mentioned to waitress but little she could do.

Restaurant on the main high street and as we went early ish evening, it was full of families and children. Menu what you would expect from a little Italian with some additions. Food was tasty and staff attentive.

We visited today.....5 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs....there was not enough space for us downstairs, but a gentleman ( possibly the owner?) kindly offered us the room upstairs, which was spacious and wonderfully decorated....we all enjoyed our authentic, well prepared and presented meals very much and would certainly visit again.....well recommended!

Been a few times now, always good service, food is very good but not excellent. I would still recommend this lovely little bar and restaurant, so far it's been consistently good everytime we have visited.

Visited Rossini and damsels last night. 25th october, with friends for a birthday celebration. We have been many times and had wonderful food. On this occasion things were not so good. The food was poor and the portions very small.

Called for lunch today after a walk. We had a feta and olive salad and a chicken Caesar salad and both were delicious. You could have a drink for £1 with it at lunch times. We had coke but you could have beer or wine too. The service was quick and pleasant. Will definitely return.

Had the special mega mixed grill, lots of food and came out hot. Busy place with friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable, worth a visit if you like Italian and in the area.

Pleasantly surprised as not eaten here before , food was very nice , meatballs , chicken skewers , and a Mediterranean platter , staff were pleasant , and bill was only 30 pounds including 3 cokes for 3 people , we only had main course , certainly enough for lunch time

Having visited this restaurant within the last couple of years, my girlfriend and I decided on a second visit after we enjoyed it the first time round.

Stopped off here for lunch,great choices of food,teas & coffees.tryed the scone & the lemon cake very tasty nice coffees.flys inside the eatting area were annoying.they need to sort out this problem as they became annoying.nice clean place apart rom fly problemn.

My and my friends calzone were both delicious. Other diner had the chicken, bacon avacado salad. The avacado was hard and tasteless as it wasn,t ripe, the rest though was lovely. I didn't give full marks as the service was a little slipshod. They forgot the chips and the water we had asked for. We had to wait an age for them to clear our plates away and we had to ask again for the dessert menu. Bearing in mind there was only another couple in! Need a little more training I think, otherwise they were pleasant enough but did not give a good impression on our first visit.

We're new to the area and are visiting each Eating House to try them. We tried this one last night. A perfect handmade pizza with a lovely thin crispy crust and a belly pork/chorizo with mash and mustard gravy followed by home made desserts. All lovely well made food. Plenty of staff so not overly long to wait for service. We can recommend so far and will be back to try more dishes.

We had dinner here on a hot Thursday evening. We had the Quattro pizza and the olive and feta salad with drinks. The food was delicious and we had only a short wait for it to arrive at the table. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. You can sit inside or outside in the new alfresco eating area. We very much enjoyed our meal and will visit again.

Had this cafe bar recommended to us by a local whilst staying near Market Weighton.

Had lunch here today with a friend. I have been many times before but have never reviewed.

Visited during and overnight stay while walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Had afternoon coffee and cake and later for dinner. Staff were very attentive and can't fault the service. The food we had to eat was served in a timely manner and was good. Seemed to be a popular place early evening.

Stopped off for lunch, good selection on the lunch menu. Burger was beautifully presented with fries and salad, but was itself rather dry and not particularly tasty. It did it’s job and filled a corner.

Excellent food, quantity, flavour and service. Reasonably priced and good surroundings. Not too noisy, very good and polite etaff and fairly quick. The only gripe is the door isn't always shut by the clientel so staff or visitors in the icy blast need to close it. A good door spring might help here. Otherwise a great night out.

We visited with family today, on their recommendation. I must say, we are very glad we went. Service was quick, and done with a smile - the staff here are fab. We ordered 3 large breakfasts, and a breakfast sub. They were speedy in getting us our drinks - with our breakfasts arriving shortly after. They were made of good quality ingredients, with plenty of toast - and butter. The plates were left totally clean - with us having eaten everything there. We highly recommend this to anyone wanting a decent meal, in a great setting.

I met up with friends here for our monthly catch up. Shown to a window table, and given the menus, the waiter took our drinks order. As previous visits, the menu was extensive with something for us all, plus a specials board. The restaurant offer two course for £14.95 or three courses for £18.95 and all included options are clearly marked in the menu.

We were a group of 15 walkers who just wanted a drink and bite after a sunny 8 miler yesterday.

Great ambience, great service and great food at a very reasonable price. We had a superb family meal here last night and we could not fault anything. All the staff were first class and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant provided a relaxed, continental atmosphere and we all felt like we were on holiday.

A lovely place with a great atmosphere. Myself, my wife and son visited for a main meal. The starter(shared) was excellent as were 3 different mains and sides. Portions were generous and prices good. We'll definitely be back.

Rossini and Damsel is one of the very few dining venues in Market Weighton. We have eaten here on a number of occasions in the past and the food/service etc was fairly good, however having just visited for a Saturday family lunch it is noticeable how much the place has declined. The lunch menu was definitely cafe style with standard fayre such as scampi and chips/lasagne and chips. 2 of our group ordered fish burger only to be told that they no longer provided this dish ! I could have accepted it if there had been a rush on that particular dish and had run out but if it is no longer provided change the menu ! When the meals arrived they were bland and obviously just microwaved or re-heated with lasagne crusted around the edge of the dish which is always an indication of a sloppy Joes establishment. The waitress indicated the choice of sweets which sat forlornly at the end of the counter and appeared to be a slice of carrot cake and a couple of slices of some other dismal cake. A couple on the next table asked what the soup of the day was to be told there is enough of the potato and leek soup for one serving and after that it would be broccoli and stilton ! This smacked to me of the remnants of today's soup and encroaching on tomorrow's soup of the day. Will not be returning.

We went to this Little place just after Christmas, So they were short-handed, but the food was still good. We shared a Mixed Grill and it was just a well as there was just so much food. The service was good and place very tidy.

I came here with at least 7 other people for my partner's work's Christmas do. It was my first time coming to this restaurant.

We had our third annual family get together at Rossini & Damsel to enjoy the Christmas Menu... This year there were 14 of us and as previously the food was great, the service was spot on and as I was picking up the tab .... I was pleased to say it was good value

Me and my girlfriend come to York for the weekend and arrived quite late, upon arrival to our accommodation we searched for a place to eat and came across this place so I rang and checked availability and they had a table for us on a Friday night last minute, we hurried over and I though they had stoped taking orders for food but the owner was very nice and said he would still take our order. My girlfriend ordered the carbonara pasta and I had a ribeye steak. The food was amazing it’s probably the best steak iv ever had anywhere, I also tasted her pasta and that was also top notch. We had cocktails which I could not fault either. The owner even came over and we had a nice chat he was really nice and friendly. Lovely little bar and grill

Busy Saturday had to wait just a little too long to order and drinks not taken straight away so sat for sometime with out anything . The food was great and plentiful just needs more bread for the generous portion of houmous which is lovely . Everyone enjoyed the food from steak to pasta and drinks are priced reasonably .

Staff are very good indeed - very attentive, helpful and cheerful. Make sure you book or you may not get a table. Food is clearly cooked to order so there is a bit of a wait but that's fine and well worth it. Between us we had the prawn sizzler and beef kebab, both of which were excellent.

We popped in late one Wednesday, I had the Giardini pizza, my friend had the halloumi sizzler platter which was an impressive affair! Staff were nice, prices reasonable.

Booked this for my girlfriends birthday for half 8. The table wasn't ready until 9 and that was only due to the pair before us happy to eat at the bar.

I have been here a couple of times for lunch. The food is nice and well priced. There is lots of choice, but there could be more for vegetarians. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

We were a party of 8, grandparents, children and grandsons. We had fabulous food served with a smile we all had different things so we can comment on eight meals and puds. Our hard to please teenage grandsons enjoyed the food pizza and calzone so much they asked us if we could return again before we returned home.

Mid-week in a small local restaurant can be a mixed bag at best but what a fabulous place. A thoughtful and extensive menu offering food for all types of visit and what great food it all was. Beautifully cooked and presented as well as clearly being cooked to order. Great drinks menu too. Everything was terrific value with a superb relaxed ambience mixing the balance of customer chatter and background music perfectly. One final and very important thing; service. I'm always slightly nervous when I encounter a very you for service team but what an amazing service experience. Polite, attentive and thoughtful......what a great team, very well done. We will be back, Ian & Christi.

Large portions, chpice of burgers, pizzas, sizzlers, pasta. Prawn sizzler was very big & plenty of praens & cajun spice. Sraff pleasant, not the fastest. Sat upstairs. Quirky decor eg some vertical paintings hung horizontally Would recommend

This was a lovely place, first visit but recommended. We did booknas there were 8 of us there was a few tables left but not many for a Thurs night.

We arrived at 7.30pm and had no reservation. The place was busy although there were a couple of tables for 2 which appeared to be unallocated. Sure enough after a couple of minutes we were shown to a table.

With the help of Ali and Katrina my daughter in-law and husband organised a surprise birthday party.What a great time we had the food was excellent the staff were on hand for anything we needed can't thank you all enough for a wonderful time.

Food was lovely, service a bit random. The gave us our deserts with no cutlery!! Overall we would go back.

We arranged a celebration buffet lunch at Rossini's for a small group of family and friends, the buffet lunch was excellent, good food and plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Thankyou Rossini's for helping to make the day an extra special one for us.

We were back again.....the food, the staff, Ali and Katrina are all FABULOUS!!! I only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Can't wait to come back again, thanks you guys xx

Looking at some good reviews, perhaps we found them in a bad day but nothing was particularly good about our experience here. The young girl who served us clearly didn’t want to be there. Our drink order took forever and when she brought the drinks she slammed them on the table without saying a word. She didn’t bring a glass for the beer, assuming I guess that it would be drunk from the bottle and it took five minutes to get her attention to bring one. The bruschetta starter took 35 minutes to arrive but was tasty and was brought by a different member of staff who was friendly.

We had a chicken, bacon and avocado salad and a steak salad. The meats were well cooked and tasty and the service was good with friendly staff. The only criticism is that the salad was just a lot of mixed leaves with a little dressing and therefore boring. A little more effort with the salad would make a big difference. We thought the prices were very good.

Gods be praised! Found solice in said eatery whilst traversing the East Yorkshire countryside. Cast dark thoughts of cloudy weather aside when polite and friendly staff did welcome us with positive agenders.

First visit to Rossini and Damsel today. A lucky find on the internet, but we will certainly be back. Pleasant atmosphere, very welcoming and relaxed. Food was excellent, something for everyone and very reasonably priced. The staff couldn't have been more helpful regarding our gluten free requirements (there were a good number of GF choices on the menu, all clearly marked). It made my birthday thank you.

First visit. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful. The starters were great. I had garlic mushrooms which were tasty. My daughter had halumi salad and she loved it. My husband had tomato garlic bread and it was ok - he would have enjoyed more tomato sauce on it. 2 out of 3 mains however were a bit of a disappointment. The pizza was very greasy and the chicken, avocado and bacon salad was dry and tasteless. I couldn't eat most of the salad as the chicken was dry, the salad didn't have much dressing and I could taste the water on the salad leaves. When we complained the waiter was aplogetic and gave us a discount. It was busy and had a nice atmosphere. The other meals looked tasty.

Called in on Easter Sunday as everywhere seemed closed. Only wanted coffees and cakes. They had changed over to dinner menu 40 minutes before we arrived. Not a problem, the waitress listed all the cakes and gave us a couple of minutes to think about it. Spoilt for choice, they were all great. Will be going back again soon for something more substantial.

Staff were welcoming and we had the upper floor to ourselves, so we could eat, chat and mingle without disturbing other diners. The food was good. I had the lasagne with house salad which was well presented with a lovely dressing on the salad. This was my first visit, but I would go again for a special meal.

We chose to re-visit here as we had enjoyed our previous visit. Arriving for 5.30, we were the first customers and was able to choose a lovely corner table tucked away for a quiet meal.

Been here about 5 times now and it seems to have gone steady down hill. Food is nice but you only get what you see on the menu, basically meat in whatever sauce it comes with, no accompaniments like potatoes or veg.

Well what a truly pleasent surprise, didnt know what to think prior, due to only going late on the night before on the friday however the food was amazing, truly a credit to the owner and his staff.

Evening visit, excellent menu. Specials served Tuesday to Thursday evening, very good value.

This morning we had a lovely traditional breakfast in this cafe/restaurant. The food was just perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. The service was prompt and the surroundings pleasant. However just a couple of things would further enhance the overall experience. 1. Our coffee needed to be hotter. 2. Our plates were barely warm so the food cooled down quicker than we could eat it and finally, 3. Their wasn’t a side plate to butter the toast on and as the plate had a deep curve to it we had to balance it in our hands or use the bare table.

Came here early afternoon one saturday. It was quite busy but we still got served quickly and the portion sizes are really good for what you pay.

After a recommendation, we booked here for a friends catch up. What a find! We were greeted by a pleasant waiter who endeavoured to look after us for our whole visit - in fact he (and his colleage) were great the whole night.

Great food great people and wonderful atmosphere, we will definitely be back! Perfect for light bites or a full meal, the staff are friendly and the menu has something for everyone. 5stars!

OK ..........to put this review in context we had just walked 15 miles along the East Wolds way and the last hour was in drizzling rain but all the staff here could not have been more welcoming. We only had afternoon teas so unable to comment on the food but if you are ever in Market Weighton looking for a homely coffee shop and bistro with friendly staff then look no further.

We booked in here for a meal whilst visiting family in Market Weighton. It is a popular cafe in the day serving a lovely selection of lunches. We had the fishcakes when we first arrived in the village. They were excellent and really good value for money. There is also a bar available. In the evening the cafe transformed into a beautiful restaurant with a ambient lighting and even a dance floor. The evening menu was superb and the food was outstanding. Two of us had salmon and the others had sea bass. All of us were impressed with our meals. Even found a new favourite gin from the fantastic gin menu. Masons Yorkshire gin - Tea edition!! The staff and management are excellent. Well worth a visit. 10/10. We will definitely return.

This was our second visit to Rossini and Damsel and once again we were all over the moon with our food. On this occasion we brought our nephew (aged 11) and even he raved about his dinner. Overall an excellent experience with service and food being wonderful. As I write this review we are already planning our next visit it's just a shame I have to wait to put my review on.....We are continuing to work our way through the menu - there is so much to choose from that we love I fear there are lots more visits to plan!Would not hesitate to recommend the Rossini and Damsel, their staff and food are excellent!

We like to visit Rossini and Damsel every couple of months and last night was every bit as good as always for us... We were greeted by Mark who is real professional and were shown to our favourite table.....The food was superb......

Spent a lovely evening here with friends a very good menu and a very well priced evening special menu my main course was lovely and a wonderful cheese board after finished a lovely meal . All the staff were friendly and helpful and very patient with people who couldnt decide

The service and food is good . They very good lunches and a nice ambience for conversation or meeting with friends.

We've lunched here a few times , enjoyed it and said that we must try the evening menu - so we did to celebrate an anniversary.The atmosphere was quite different - very pleasant with gentle and appropriate background music.We were quickly shown to our table (having booked that morning) and presented with a selection of menus (evening menu with fixed price for two and three courses; a la carte; specials and a wine list). There are some great Italian dishes with also a range of burgers, etc. I chose garlic mushrooms and a creamy chicken dish; my wife chose a hot prawn dish followed by a hot (spicy) salmon dish - also served with prawns). There was no problem with choosing courses from different menus. We chose a half carafe of white wine - great idea as we didn't want a full bottle (driving) but more than just a simple glass - full marks for the carafe idea.My mushrooms came with a plentiful serving of sauce - sufficient to warrant a spoon, not to waste the lively flavour.The prawn starter was also a delight - meaty prawns well presented. Both starters were served with the usual garnish and some very tasty warm slices of bread.The main courses were also a delight being well presented and good portion sizes. Good flavours without being over-seasoned yet well balanced.The young staff were competent, attentive and very pleasant (thankfully no "you guys" references; they really tried and succeeded. We were asked during both courses whether everything was alright - which it certainly was.We made use of the car park next door which has unrestricted parking after 6 p.m. so didn't have too far to walk - all making for a very pleasant evening (especially the complimentary Limonella liqueur to toast our anniversary.

Thank you, we could not believe our luck after stumbling across your café! We had walked 10 miles and been turned away from the Goodmanham Arms because we were 5 minutes late arriving for food. We were starving but nothing was too much trouble, sandwiches and tea were delicious and served with such a warm friendly welcome. We will most definitely return and will highly recommend above other eating establishments. Thank you for your warm welcome.

We like it here and have been coming for many years!!! Lovely on a night for a meal, but I feel that the younger staff are always lovely and polite and friendly, however the older staff (during the day) seem to be a bit ignorant!! Very nice cafe during the day, however lovely Italian on a night!!! Very tasty and reasonably priced!

I work in a village not far from Market Weighton and often pass Rossini&Damsel on the way to the post office or shops and have done so for years, but never once have I been inside - wish I had done sooner, it's a great little cafe bar!My better half met me for lunch today, bored of the usual places or packet sandwiches from Tescos I suggested trying Rossini&Damsel as it was the first place we came to after parking up in Market Weighton to find somewhere to eat.Couldn't have faulted it, friendly staff, good prices, nice menu and really good food. Surroundings and seating is spacious and it doesn't leave you smelling like a greasy spoon like some cafes.We will definitely be coming back on future lunch dates :)

Well where do we start, we came here as a birthday treat for me (21 again!) what a find! Upon arrival we were very warmly welcomed and settled for a pint for hubby and an absolutely fabulous rhubarb gin & tonic for me whilst we decided on food.We went for a mix of starters to share, everything being delicious - I could have made a meal of that.Hubby went for a steak with all the trimmings whilst I had the chicken in cream and white wine and mushroom sauce - both meals were sublime, presentation was stunning and the vegetables cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself is full of character and has a fantastic vibe, staff are very friendly and helpful.Hubby stated during our meal that he would quite happily drive over (1.5 hours) just to eat here - that says it all.Thank you so much to all at the Rossini & Damsel for making it a very happy birthday, we will be back..............we had no room for desert!

This was a good find, right on the main street where we could sit outside with our bikes on the terrace (20 miles into part of our Wolds Way circuit for the day), and tuck into some huge and freshly made sandwiches and paninis to fuel us for the remainder of the day's ride. They've got a big range of lunch options and they must all be pretty good, judging by the quality of the home-made coleslaw and salad that accompanied our choices, and the number of other customers. Delightfully cheerful and friendly staff, who happily explained the somewhat quirky reason for the very unusual name. Definitely recommended, and good value

Our first visit and we were not disappointed. The menus offered a good selection of food - something for everyone. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. Portion sizes were generous.The service was excellent - the waiter was so polite and attentive. He always had a smile and clearly enjoyed his job. Well done!A local restaurant that we will certainly be visiting again soon.

Found this little place on the way home from Scarborough, what a great find we both had the prawns to start then I chose the seafood spaghetti with chilli it was delicious, loved the kick the chilli gave , my partner had the belly pork with chorizo again this was very tasty, my main praise goes to the staff they were brilliant we will visit again when next in the area

Went to giant community day and called in at 12- 30ish.Was extremely busy, managed to find a table and ordered some food.When it came the first thing the waitress said was, I'm very sorry for your long wait.Our reply was, don't worry we can see you are extremely busy.Food was excellent and well presented.If they can do that on probably their busiest day well worth calling again.

Went to this restraunt several times when they first opened and always enjoyed the food. But havn't visited for a couple of years, even though it's local and good value for money. The portions are huge, especially the pizzas. The garlic prawn starter in a sizzling dish was as good as any I have ever had and I have eaten this dish all over the world.The new ( to us ) manager was both very friendly and helpful. Would recommend R & D for both a small snack, or a big occasion.We wIll be back.

We visit this restaurant in our small town every 'Sheffield flood', but took family visitors for an early evening meal. The weather was too cool to sit in the courtyard, so chose a table in the window, watching the evening High Street scene develop. Some lively folk soon filled the bar section but settled down. 12 of the 16 seats for dinner were filled on the 'dining' side & we ordered from an interesting menu choice. Service was informal but friendly as befits our area. In short - Sea Bass very good, Lamb good, Rump Steak OK. Soup & salad good. Melon & Prosciutto passable, but melon not ripe enough. Wine - good choice! Overall? 8/10 - worth going more often.
