The Altisidora in East Riding of Yorkshire

We love coming to this pub. We typically visit on a Sunday for our family Sunday roast, and occasionally through the week. Peter the manager is fantastic! Personable and all over it. Standards are good, service is friendly and we love it when peter comes and checks in on the table. Always makes an effort with our son who is full of beans all the time. The food is always good and the drinks selection is vast but thoughtful. If you're planning to visit at the weekend, definitely book a table, especially on a Sunday. They are always heaving so plan ahead.

Despite charging premium prices, the Sunday lunch was underwhelming. The roast beef was thin and overcooked and the extra side dish of cauliflower cheese we ordered was the worst I've ever had (half consisting of hard, thick cauliflower stalk). On the positive side, the waiter was very welcoming and helpful so it's a real shame that the food was so disappointing. There are many other establishments within the area offering a better experience in this price range so I can't recommend Altisidora.

Booked a table for nine for a family meal. Our original table was not available because people were still there. Sat down at 3pm food wasn't served till 4-15 ,the food was just warm. Very disappointed as our last visit was spot on that's why we recommended it to the family.

Although we were a party of nine we were fitted in at short notice. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We had no issues with the service, which was excellent and the meals were generouly portioned and nicely cooked. We would definitely recommend the Altisidora and will be happy to return again in the future.

We were a group of 10 visiting for my Father's 90th Birthday family get together. The service and food were both excellent. Staff members were all friendly and very helpful in facilitating the Birthday cake surprise, providing candles, plates etc even though it meant we were foregoing a dessert!

Diabolical from being told the automated booking doesn't work and there was no tables in a half empty room to being served food (40 mins wait) and to have no cutlery to eat it with once you had got the food then had to get up and go ask for serviettes. Although the food was ok by the time you got to eat it was luke warm. The staff went through the process of being polite with no real feeling that they meant it . Shame nice looking pub in a beautiful location.

Really disappointed with our trip on Sunday 21/4/24 We often use this venue and it is usually very good But yesterday it wasn’t. We were told when ordering that there was a 40 minute wait on food - which was acceptable to us. However, this was actually 80 minutes which wasn’t acceptable . Our expectations were not managed at all and the explanation was that there were only 2 chefs on duty - again, that’s fine but don’t say 40 mins when in reality it was double that. Other than that - the food was good and the service from the bar staff was good. So such a shame really. Probably won’t visit again following this experience.

Such lovely service from the staff! All happy and friendly and the food and drinks were excellent, would definitely recommend! Dog friendly too which is always a bonus!

Had a lovely meal with my hubby tonight. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. I had the gorgeous steak and ale pie and my hubby had the famous tikka masala. We were greeted by a lovely blonde girl with pretty and a lovely girl with nice tattoos. The meal was fresh and drinks were fabulous. Thinking of coming back with the other moms for a mummy wine night !! Eveyone was lovely and attentive and the place felt so wholesome. Will deffo be back !

I Love this pub! Whenever I'm coming back from York I stop for a coffee and a light lunch the staff are always super friendly, I can have my dog with my in the bar area which I love they even have little treats for him 🐶. Don't change what your doing

Have wanted to visit here for a long time but our visit was disappointing , The restaurant is nice the staff pleasant to start with apart from a waitress referring to our party of four as " you lot". The food was of poor quality, frozen chips, tough steak, messy burger, We expected more for the price.

Visited at lunchtime for a birthday celebration with my wife and daughter. We were quickly shown to a quiet table away from the bar and given extensives menus to choose from. We ordered from the lunchtime menu which offered two courses for £15.95 and also from the main menu which was also offered. My wife and myself chose chicken goujons with garden peas and chips from the lunchtime menu and my daughter chose fish, chips and beans from the main menu. All the large main courses arrived piping hot within 10 minutes and were of an excellent standard. My daughter also ordered 2 sausages for our dog which were quickly gulped down. Our puddings were cherry and apple compot with a generous jug of custard and a chocolate melt in the middle pudding. Again these were quickly served by Becky who was polite and attentive to all our needs. The puddings were hot, delicious and more than enough to satisfy our appetites. As it was my birthday we presented the bar with a birthday cake and candles to serve. Becky lit the candles, wished me Happy Birthday and served the cake ready to be cut. The manager Simon was constantly on hand to make sure we were happy with the food and service given. Overall the meal was a wonderful treat for me and I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Visit for early evening meal - ordered two meals and arrived in good time. Presented well and tasted good but curry was tepid. Assistant returned within a couple of mins and asked how our meals were. Advised good but curry was not hot - temperature not spice. His reply “sorry about that” and shot off even before finishing his sentence - no offer to heat up / replace no anything! Seriously poor customer service - first time I had been and shame really as would have gone back again…no repeat business from me !

Very disappointing today, unlike our previous visits. Despite booking well in advance, we were dumped not in the main dining room but a draughty lobby near the entrance door with a dartboard space above our head and another table less than a foot away from ours. A disabled lady in a wheelchair was embarrassed when she had to ask us to stand up to allow her to leave her table due to the lack of space, while the people behind us had to move their whole table for her. Even garden centre cafes are better set up to avoid these access issues. Further, a toddler glued to a loud iPad created an unwelcome noise throughout our meal less than two feet from our chairs. We will not be returning unless guaranteed seats in the main dining area at a reasonable distance from other customers. Additionally, despite our booking being limited to a two-hour slot, the meal took 40 minutes to arrive, and only then after our request to know how much longer we had to wait. The higher prices than other Marstons pubs are not justified here if customers are going to be treated in this way.

Very underwhelming. We had a 30% discount voucher so we went, the portions were on the small side and slightly overcooked. It was OK with the discount but would have felt a bit miffed at full price. We eat out on a regular basis and can recommend other places more than here, doubt we will come back soon. Meal price in photo is £17:29

Great Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. The roast dinner was very nice and they accommodated my daughters desire for multiple yorkshire puddings. Staff efficient and friendly. Hope to come back again soon.

My Husband & I went for Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly & attentive. I had mushroom soup to start,which was very nice & my Husband had the buttermilk chicken,which he said was excellent. The Sunday roast was a generous portion.I had roast beef & my Husband had the triple meat. The Yorkshire puddings were lovely as were the " proper"roasties. I would give 5 stars but the meat was only 50% edible & was quite fatty/chewy & sinewy. Also the dinner plates are such an annoying shape,especially with the amount of food you get. We did use a 30% promotion voucher aswell so that was an added bonus. Would definitely go again though😀

Sadly disappointed, steak was terrible tough and grisly didn’t think was possible with a rib eye. The girls working just looked miserable and disinterested, won’t be going back.

Every time I come to this pub I forget how lovely it is! It has such a cosy setting with the warm fires on in winter, the staff no matter who I've seen have always been so lovely. Me and my friends just had drinks this time :) but normally we pop for lunch! Would highly recommend.

Me and my wife took her 84 year old mother and my 90 year old father for Sunday Lunch on recommendation from a friend, who had visited over Christmas. I viewed the menu in advance and thought it to be quite expensive but was prepared to pay for good quality and a good experience. I had booked in advance and had specifically asked for a table in a quiet location, because two of our party are hearing impaired. Whilst the table we were given was in a nice spot, we realised half way through the meal that it was immediately under a music speaker. We were greeted by a nice young girl who showed us to the table and asked if we would like to order drinks. My mother-in-law asked about the types of drinks and was kindly offered a sample so she could choose. The drinks order was delivered fairly quickly. Three of us ordered roast beef and my Dad had the roast turkey, all off the Sunday dinner section of the menu. When the food arrived, I quickly realised that mine was, at best, lukewarm, and some of it was cold. Our parents had ordered a side dish of cauliflower cheese, which was on a very hot dish but was itself, cold. My wife and mother-in-law felt that their meals were 'not very hot' but chose to persevere. My meal and the side dish were taken away to be reheated. The more those of us having roast beef ate, the more we realise it was very tough and sinewy. We weren't able to raise this point until the waitress came to clear the plates. Her explanation was less than satisfatory in that she said that 'they don't have a choice over what cut of beef they get sent but she would mention it to the chef - there was no further response. The only positive from the experience was that my Dad enjoyed his roast turkey. We had planned to have desserts but decided against giving any more of our hard earned money to this business. We asked for the bill and put a debit card with it on the corner of the table... after waiting and waiting, I went to the bar to pay. I wasn't asked if we'd enjoyed our meal or if everything was OK. Neither was I offered any form of recompense for the shortcomings. I therefore paid, without leaving any gratuity and we left. The cost of dining out has increased significantly post pandemic, however, customers do still have freedom of choice. Because of our very poor experience at The Altisidora, I'm afraid our choice will lie elsewhere in the future.

Went for Sunday lunch and ordered the pork. Came with no crackling or stuffing, a teaspoon of red cabbage. Asked if they had run out of these items they said yes but offered me nothing else to replace missing items. Pork mostly sinew. Then found a long hair in the potatos and a twig!! Told the staff and they didn't offer anymore food. Just took 20% off the meal. Partner never got the beer he ordered. Will not return. Going down hill fast.
