Crown & Anchor in East Riding of Yorkshire

Absolutely loved this place, we drove past loads of times and finally been there. The food was fantastic, quite a small menu but everything was very good. Can recommend the beef & wold pie and the lamb dish, fish & chips looked good and was per the couple next us. Very friendly and welcoming owners and staff. Will definitely go back there.

A genuinely excellent venue staffed with highly professional and friendly staff, highly recommended.

We had Sunday lunch here today and it was delicious. We both had roast beef which was cooked perfectly. Lots of fresh veg. Very attentive staff. We couldn’t fault it. Absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend.

13/10/24 - Called again for a Sunday roast. They now have a new chef and the food is spot-on, 10/10. The Yorkshire puddings melt in the mouth. The service is both friendly and attentive. The wine good too. We will be back again. 28/07/24 - Wow, Sunday meal. Remember not to eat beforehand (for about three days). The portions are huge. The food is excellent and the staff and owners - spot on. Well done, we will be back. Beer was spot-on and the staff were excellent at greeting and acknowledging all customers entering the pub/restaurant. They were a credit to the company, moreso than in many other establishments. Perhaps next time we will book for a Sunday meal.

Best pie I’ve ever had. Staff friendly and welcoming, we were staying a local airbnb and this was a great bonus to a lovely stay and visit to Beverley.

Fantastic countryside pub. Dog friendly which was a huge bonus before heading out for a long dog walk along the high eske nature reserve. Teddy really enjoyed her doggy bed and biscuits as we tucked into the most delicious lunch! I’d highly recommend this place and can’t wait to return.

Fabulous little gem this place! Had a meal with drinks as a family, brilliant end to our holiday week! Definitely would recommend the fillet steak! Oh and like everyone else says portions are plentiful. Thanks to the owners and staff, hopefully see you again next year! 👍

Beautiful pub in a stunning location. After years of driving past we finally called in. Only had drinks but the food coming from the kitchen looked amazing. We will be going back for a meal.

Absolutely brilliant. The meals were huge. Hubby had steak pie which filled the plate. My vegetarian curry was fab. Included all the extras. We had a slight problem with our order, they were very apologetic and rectified it straight away. Highly recommended this place, was fab. Nothing too much trouble. Thank you. We will be back for sure x

Was staying nearby at Corporation Farm Cottages for the weekend for our 25th Wedding anniversary with family and friends. Booked for 14 of us to have Sunday lunch, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the pub is clean and welcoming with a lovely log fire. A separate room was set up for us, and the food was outstanding. Not one person had a bad starter, main or desert,(thankyou to the chef), and the waiting staff were amazing. Great choice of beer's, etc. Would highly recommend for anyone to visit here for drink and food. Thankyou for making our 25th Wedding anniversary that bit more special.

Great riverside location with nice views and handy for the river walks to the nature reserves. Has outdoor seating. Car park. Will's Ice Cream Parlour is also adjacent in the car park area. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Food served on Sundays only with booking advised. Does hot and cold drinks to take out. Good for watching sport if that's your thing in a pub. Dog friendly bar area, which is handy as is in popular area for dog walkers. The two handpulled cask beers when I visited were locally brewed Great Newsome's Pricky Back Otchan Pale Ale and Sleck Dust Blonde Beer.

Menu restricted as items were not available or had run out. The meal was spoilt by the number of flies in the restaurant. The excuse being that its summer and they could not keep flies from coming in and the doors get opened! No apology! We have enjoyed previous meals at the Crown & Anchor but something seems to have gone wrong now.

Lovely pub set next to the canal. We were visiting locally but decided to go there on our last night because the setting was so lovely. Great food, very hot and came quickly. Dog friendly too. The staff are very friendly. Will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

I've only just started visiting this pub. It's a traditional style pub with a good choice of drinks. The dining area looks good but I haven't eaten there.. yet.

Really hard working mum and daughter on duty, lovely place inside, red hot day outside. We sat over the wall on the river. The weeds are too high to enjoy the river unfortunately. The stairs over the wall should be condemned as dangerous, council work for you. Nice atmosphere, however! Within half an hour of leaving i had to rush to the toilet at Catwick garden centre where everything i ate and drank, came out in one go, and left me shaky and weak.

Went to pick my lad up after his last day at work down the road, ended up sat in the beer garden with him and the lads, lovely weather.

The Crown and Anchor at Tickton is a really nice pub by the river Hull. It had two cask conditioned real ales on when I visited. It's a nice traditional multi-roomed pub. The bar room is dog friendly. The other rooms are really nicely decorated and it has a cozy feel to the place. Like a lot of pubs now it is very food orientated, and has an excellent reputation for its meals. There is a nice outside seating area along the river bank. The pub has a decent sized car park and there is free on-road parking as well.

We visited here after a walk from Hull on Sat. There was a little mix up with the drinks, but we enjoyed being sat outside in the sunshine. Can't comment on the food as we didn't have any.

Visited on sunny day, only one bar tender serving, so had to wait for other visiters food order to go thru before being served my drink. Disappointed that Mr Moos ice cream unit was closed...18° sunny all day! 🔥 🥵

Hadn't booked a table on Sunday, but they were very obliging and found a spot for us . the food was lovely and gravy, very tasty will definitely go again.

Just popped in for a quick drink and a seat by the river. Good looks good will try next time

We have visited a few times now as we have recently moved to tickton. Always made to feel very welcome by the staff and the food is superb great atmosphere and lovely surroundings great selection of drinks would highly recommend the Chardonnay best we have had in a long while, this is becoming our favourite place.

This is a lovely place with great views. We enjoyed a relaxing drink and sit down after enjoying a walk along the river bank. Will definitely be going there again.

Very nice quite restaurant not much to choose on the lunch menu but I put this down to location. We ordered the fish and chips and scampi and chips and this was superb. Would dine here again.

A lovely traditional village, riverside pub with a subtly contemporary feel. You are guaranteed a warm welcome whether you're a local or a visitor. The staff are friendly and helpful, the music is very much of the background variety giving you the rare opportunity to have an actual conversation and if you can grab one of the coveted armchairs you'll never want to get up. There's plenty of parking in the pub's private car park, there's even a camping field if you fancy a longer stay. This is a dog friendly pub, it's just a shame our dogs aren't pub friendly 😂 Highly recommended for drinks, food and relaxing on the banks of the River Hull. 5*

Cracking little place. Don't know much about the food although it's always busy on the weekend. When the sun is shining you can sit outside in the sun or under canopy and have a cold one by the river. Sweet!

So yesterday I visited the Crown and Anchor with the intention of doing an hour or two of fishing before a couple of pints and a bite to eat. Soon after I had parked a lady, possibly the landlord came out to ask if I was fishing. I said yes and explained that I intended to visit the pub shortly and I was told to move my car from their car park. Needless to say, I found somewhere else to spend my money. Suggest you look elsewhere if you would like a warm welcome and hospitality.

Unfortunately Sunday roast beef lunch was disappointing. Plenty of meat but very little flavour to the meal and small portion of veg. Very bland. Gravy was thin and tasteless too . First time we had tried it. In fairness other meals people were served looked good especially the meat pie.

A great location. We had some coffees and cake after a lovely 3 mile walk to the dam and back. The staff were friendly and we would definitely visit again.

Popped in on a Friday teatime, busy bar but restaurant area was peaceful. Food was quick and tasty with enough variety to please two teenagers. Good selection of hand pulled ales - Black Sheep hit the spot!
