Ordered Sausage and Mash from a totally disinterested Guy at the bar , The food came in reasonable time , we have eaten at this Pub many times , it’s not top notch but generally really good , the said food arrived and wow total garbage, mash cold peas rock hard and sausages obviously reheated, the waitress said all ok ? , explained what was the issue … ok she said …. never saw her again. The older Waitress was so nice but obviously the only person interested in customer service. A real shame as it’s a real convenient place for a quick lunch , or was .

For Beverley Town the drinks and foods are really good value.

Food was reasonable, except that at midday on 12th December they had run out of turkey for the Xmas turkey dinner. The service however was shocking. The food took 45 minutes to arrive at the table with no prior warning of delay and all the servers would say is “you should have been told there was a delay”. They weren’t even busy so why there was a delay at all is the question. We certainly won’t be returning.

12th December and we went in for lunch. Food was reasonable, except they had run out of turkey for the Xmas dinner??? How is that even possible? 2 of us had to choose another meal and we weren’t even offered a refund for the difference. The worst thing though, the food took 45 minutes to arrive at our table and when we complained we were just told “you should have been warned there was a delay”. Small comfort when we weren’t. We were literally standing up and leaving when the food arrived. We certainly won’t be returning.

Lovely pub that serves food from 10am - 9pm every day including breakfasts 10-12. Great selection of drinks at decent prices.

My husband and I had a lovely meal. I had the vegan Oomph burger and he had the mixed grill. The food was great. The service was fantastic. It's a lovely pub that offers great service and value for money.

We were expertly served at the bar by Tom. The rest of the team were lovely and couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy. It's a great place to go for tea.

Really good breakfast and very reasonable on price . Great service will deffo be back .

Christmas menu is cheap for a reason

I’ve been again for food today and as always it was lovely

Arranged to meet friends, some of whom had travelled from South Cave, in the Green Dragon as they had advertised that they were showing the Rugby Autumn Internationals However instead of showing the national rugby team playing Japan, they had all the screens showing league football. (two games initially). They told us they would put it on when the Swansea v Leeds game had finished - 40 minutes later - which wiped out the first half, so we waited and bought more drinks in the belief they would be true to their word,. The football finished and they then put every screen on showing just the Man Utd v Ipswich game. On complaining the staff said the manager had told them not to show the rugby. We had put a fair amount of money through their till in the belief they would honour their promise and feel that we were kept in the pub fraudulently. We won’t be putting a penny through them again.

The best pub...in the heart of Beverley! Great food, affordable for Beverley in comparison to other drinking, eating places, great ambience, hardworking, friendly staff, and a massive plus for us with Doggie friends.. there is a Dog area at the front of this pub, its cosy n clean....Happy days. On this occasion 21/11/24 12.30 lunch: I had Fish n chips, mushy peas....perfect! Fish was white, soft, with crunchy light batter n my friend had burger chips he said it tasted great. Thank you! Great team effort. Much Respect.

Haven't been for a while...just had lunch and it was appalling. Poor service,.. staff behind the bar on their mobile phones whilst tables need clearing.. very poor food. Filthy pub,not a pleasant place to sit. It would be zero stars but it's not allowed!.... We remembered why we haven't been for a while.

This lovely pub, along with several others, has been a favourite for many years. I'm talking about 4 decades. I cut my teeth in these friendly establishments when I reached 18. We don't frequent it any more simply because of all the screens. Shame as I still like the joint and I can get a decent glass of red wine here. So in we went this morning for breakfast and worked out that if we sat in the lovely cosy front room, left of the beautiful old window, we could avoid the darn screens. Surely GD you could have this one area to be screen-free? We'd come back in again regularly. As for this morning, our small Irish breakfast was absolutely perfect. Faultless. Nice cup of coffee too. All at a very fair price. But please ... we go to pubs to talk with people. It's understandable that the screens are an important part of your and other peoples daily lives but they are so invasive, even the outdoor ones. On a final positive note, for any potential future customers, head to the lovely cosy front room. You'll get a warm welcome and a decent drink.

Lovely looking dog friendly pub. Very busy. Good weekday deal Husband hathe wrap which he enjoyed. I had the curry. Arrived piping hot and looked delicious. But no spring onion, coriander or chillies that were advertised. It was an edamame bean curry. Nobody checked to see if we enjoyed our meals. The toilets really could do with a good clean.

It's a lovely old pub with lots of chararcter. Good selection of food and allows dogs.

The pub was busy when we arrived but we found a seat. The service was ok. The food left a lot to be desired. We only had light meals but everything was overcooked. I had the fishfinger and chiabata sandwich the batter was overcooked and my wife had the southern fried chicken burger, again overcooked.

Great place to meet friends day or night. We came here for drinks before moving on to our chosen restaurant. Good selection of drinks, with plenty of places to sit, both inside or outside. Central to the town, it is ideal for anyone.

I went for lunch with my friend. I had the Tandoori pizza. It was truly scrumptious. I've never tried it before but I will certainly be having it again. The base was crispy, just how I like it, because nobody likes a soggy bottom☹️. The size was more than adequate. 👍👍

Booked a table in the morning, turned up to a warm welcome as always. Nice to see Simon the Landlord back. Set up a tab and had drunks and lynch with friends. Always great food, cooked to how I like it. Simon, Sheila, Jasmin and Connor all very accommodating. Come here regular and always recommend to people in my Shop. Both Simon and Sheila always stop to chat although there normally rushed off their feet. Thank you all really enjoyed it.

The food was ok but I was bowled over by it. Asked for a pint if beer and a pint if ornage juice and lemonade and was given orange squash which actually I really enjoyed however it wasn't what I ordered.. the atmosphere was good though and the staff appeared friendly.

It was a nice enough pub, the food was ok There was plenty of choice of drinks, plenty of seating and an outside beer garden, right in the heart of Beverley.

The food is good but it isn't anything amazing. The staff are very kind and helpful, and the pub is very nice inside.

Disappointed with the food as it was all luke warm. The ham looked like it came out of a packet, the chips were cold, peas seemed undercooked and the halloumi fries were burned. Really disappointed and will not be going back. I’d recommend people go elsewhere.

Lovely pub in the market place. Dog friendly great selection of beers and the food is good quality have tried nearly all of it so far and is always nice. Visit a couple of times a week as its so good.

Great value for money. Where else can you get 2 meals of 7oz gammon, egg, chips peas and pineapple for £10.95 total, NOT each. Served Monday to Friday noon until 9pm. Always busy, lots of atmosphere. Right in centre of Town. Will definitely return soon. Thank you. If pic gets uploaded my hubby has added crispy prawns on the skewer for £3 extra.

Pub itself is beautiful, ordered our food and drinks OK, food arrived i ordered steak and Guinness pie , nice portions ,mash was hard on top as though it had Been under a heat lamp for a while , pie was lovely very tasty and full of meat , The amount of gravy was not a lot , so I got up and asked if I could have some more was told I had to pay for it and go to the bar to do so., seriously I couldn't believe this , first time this has ever happened (absolute joke ) it's gravy , all other establishments I've ever been to Happy to give you more at no cost , hence my meal was dry , so please either give more gravy to start with or extra for free please , this is why reluctantly I've given this score ,photo shows how much I got , you can see the line not even half full ,

Place itself was warm and welcoming. However during breakfast the rowdiness and drunkenness got too much to handle, so quickly finished breakfast and left. Apparently it was ladies Day and all the people who were dressed up for the occasion were a little worst for wear and at full volume.

Food not great avoid fish and chips as it isn't very good.

Have had a few really great experiences in here (being a local) but at our last visit when we had food our server Cat was top notch. Attentive, polite and knowledgable about the menu, one of our party had food allergies. We will be back in the not too distant future. A fabulous local pub 👌🏼

Came in for a few drinks in the beer garden as it was lovely weather. We decided to order a few meals after seeing other people being served and couldn’t help ourselves. Had a few problems with our order however it was quickly solved by Kat. The Gammon was spot on. Will be likely to visit again soon!

There were 3 of us, hubby had steak and Guinness pie, I had chicken and ham pie,sister in law had bacon and cheeseburger. Lovely food. Nice atmosphere and lovely staff.

Came in for a quiet drink and noticed the new menu so decided to order some food, wasn't long after we ordered we got some delicious food delivered to out table. It was all cooked and tasted great. Another great meal out will be back again.

Waited over 45 minutes for a steak sandwich with no red onion and they still got it wrong , had more onions the steak will not be going back

Great pub. Good ales, lovely staff, good food, quick service but avoid quiz nights. I can tolerate pub quiz questions but not the annoying tannoy with the loud and annoying feedback buzzing into your brain.

Read all the reviews as you do but like most things you have to try yourself. Chose the mid-size hearty breakfast option which was very generous with portions, well cooked and presented especially not swimming in baked beans. I did notice that quite a few customers might have been optimistic choosing the even bigger breakfast and were leaving a bit. Probably one of the best value meals i can remember even the latte was very reasonably priced. Waitresses and other staff were very efficient especially considering the restaurant was very long so lots of foot work. Whilst pets are allowed in a special area it was good to see a waitress quickly move a couple and there dog who had plonked themselves down next to us. If I were to find fault it would be the table which was 'sticky' and could have done with a good wipe down. Certainly would go again but perhaps choose the smaller breakfast which was as big as some full size and more expensive offerings in the area.

Came here for the England vs Slovakia game. Was very busy but didn't have to wait long at the bar and when we ordered food it came in 10 minutes. Come here for the football, you wont be disappointed!

Just had relaxed lunch with friends in this old fashioned pub. Food good burgers fish and chips and pie and mash. Amazing prices staff lovely drinks good stayed a couple of hours chatting in this roomy and traditional place. Never felt rushed really comfy. Couldn’t fault it and would definitely visit again if in area. It looks small from the outside but is huge once inside.

Very limited GF options for food. I had the sharing nachos with pulled beef as a main and they were decent. Friends food choices were all ok, but nothing special. However prices are cheap, atmosphere nice and service ok. Ideal for a group of friends

The Green Dragon in Saturday market is an excellent pub. There is a good selection of beers and lagers, including a few cask conditioned hand pulled, real ales. The real ales they had on when I visited were all in excellent condition. Although it doesn't look big from the outside, the pub goes back a long way. It's a large pub but quite cosy. The staff are friendly and the food is good. There is also an outside seating area for summer, and the pub is dog friendly.

One of the best pubs in Beverley with a nice outside seating area down the side. The pub is accessed via a quaint passageway, which is a lovely touch. There are plenty of drinks options available with bar games and TVs showing sports. If you're visiting Beverley and want to experience a nice pub, then this should definitely be on your list. ☆☆☆☆☆

Currently sat here after eating a lovely meal with my family, and just wanted to make a point of the amazing service. We came in as a family of 8 with 2 disabled members in the party and 2 dogs, all the low tables in the dog friendly end of the restaurant was taken but they accommodated moving a smaller table over to where we were seated, the food was lovely service was amazing and a decent variety of Ale's. Will definitely be returning.

What a fantastic pub. Came here to watch the play-off final not a great match although a great result for me! Atmosphere was great and staff working really well and happy even while very busy! ALAW!
