We called here today the 18th March at 13.20 we were made very welcome by the the attentive staff. The fish and chips were of excellent quality and cooked fresh . A added bonus is that they are dog friendly in the restaurant part of this excellent establishment. If you are in the area head for the frying Yorkshire man and enjoy excellent service a very warm welcome and of course the food which is 5star

My wife and I went there to celebrate her birthday. The welcome was good and so was the atmosphere. The food was excellent and until then we enjoyed our visit. The turnaround came when the waitress, who until then was attentive and competent, told us that we had overstayed our time slot and basically she told us to leave now. This totally spoiled the experience for us and we will certainly never ever return to this place again. You don't go to Le Caveau just for the food but the experience, well until now.

We go out once a week for a treat (not easy in the current financial climate). We decided to visit Macleods Restaurant for lunch. The staff were great, very helpful and pleasant throughout. But we felt let down with the food. There are only 5 main courses on offer, yet one was not available (the burger) as it had not been delivered! Really, you can’t manage to have 5 options delivered and available. We both had the fish and chips, and both of us found the batter heavy and greasy, so we left the batter. Finally, we discovered on paying that a 10% tip was added without notifying us or mentioning it in any way; it was just added to the bill and then included in the total. You shouldn’t just include it in the total and it is not acceptable to put customers in the position of having to ask you to remove a tip from the bill. Money is tight enough without this type of practice, so sadly we won’t be visiting again.

Lovely little cafe with a few added treats in the form of bunting to buy or order extremely reasonable priced….chance to paint pottery …a few other Yorkshire treats. We had breakfast which was lovely I had the Vegetarian Breakfast …my Hubbie had a Breakfast Bap & my 2 Spaniels had 4 sausages between them. Extremely friendly staff, good food & extremely good value for money thoroughly recommend & will be revisiting later in the year when we come back for a long weekend. A little gem.

I had my eye on this restaurant for a while and finally got the chance to visit as I was staying nearby. The location is lovely, really scenic and peaceful and the food was incredible. I went for the Sunday roast with chicken seitan with all the trimmings and a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I couldn't fault anything. I also had a local lager which was delicious. I would recommend this place to vegans and non vegans alike and will definitely revisit when I'm back in the area.

Wonderful hotel! Super lovely staff. Great food and refreshing drinks. Really comfy rooms with colourful paintings on the walls. Perfect location for a weekend getaway. Beautiful views surrounding you as you enter the village. Super peaceful and quiet in Malham. Lovely village! Swimmingly river over the bridge. Great little visitor centre. Lovely flowers on the tables in the hotel. Easy to find. Super walkative to the large and massive Malham Cove. Parking is terrible and gets so clogged up if you don't arrive early. Loved staying at Lister Arms and walking through Malham village! 10/10

I have been a frequent visitor to this restaurant over many years, always drawn back by the consistently high quality of food and attentive service. Unfortunately, my recent visit on Sunday left much to be desired and was not reflective of the standards I have come to expect. Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet for a Sunday, the staff were noticeably inattentive. While the service itself was fast, it became evident that this may have contributed to the decline in food quality, as the meals appeared hastily assembled. The vegetables served were visibly frozen and cubed, a stark contrast to the fresh, rough-cut selection we had enjoyed previously. The roast potatoes also appeared frozen, lacking the crispness and flavour of freshly prepared ones. The mash was clearly pre-made and reheated, bearing none of the creamy texture associated with freshly made mash. While the Yorkshire puddings seemed freshly prepared, three of the four at our table found them excessively greasy. Additionally, two of our guests chose the pork specifically for its advertised crackling, only to be served without it. When we enquired, the waiter seemed irritated and unhelpful. After an extended wait, he returned with pork scratchings from a packet, which felt both disappointing and unacceptable. An honest acknowledgment of the lack of crackling would have been far more appropriate. This lack of care in the quality of food being served was made apparent and really set the tone of the standards you appear to now be holding. The challenges continued when we requested the bill. After waiting a considerable time to catch someone’s attention, we then had to wait over 30 minutes for a card machine. Despite its visible presence and staff frequently passing our table, it was ignored until we asked multiple times. It is disheartening to witness such a decline in both food quality and service. Having enjoyed so many positive experiences here in the past, this visit has left me reluctant to return anytime soon. Conversations with friends and family who have also dined here recently suggest that our experience is not an isolated one, with many sharing similar disappointments. I sincerely hope that the restaurant addresses these issues and returns to the high standards that made it a favourite choice for so long. Should I hear of improvements in the future, I may consider giving it another chance. Until then, I will be cautious in recommending it to others.

One of our favourite places to visit and eat if we're in the Skipton area. Liam and his staff always offer a warm welcome. They are also dog friendly. The food is exceptional and they have a good range of beers and spirits. Happy to report as a vodka drinker that they stock more than just Smirnoff with a good selection to choose from. We stayed on the adjacent Broughton Estate for the whole Easter weekend and ate here 3 times during our stay. The menu has many varied choices and the Sunday lunch is definitely recommended.

Quant little place, and they've worked really hard to create a cracking little cafe. We visited via Pennine Cruises, moored up by the last lock and then a 15-minute walk. We only had snacks (all nice). Only slight criticism would be a towel in the one toilet, which is perhaps not the most hygienic thing to do. Coffee nice, but for me, I needed it to be a little stronger. Would definitely come back.

Online menu offers a selection of hot beverages. Staff said they do not serve tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. Staff very rude so all 5 of us left. Seemed odd that a hotel would not serve these on a cold wet December day. It will put us off going there again.

Ordered scrambled egg on toast and I was disgusting. The eggs were like rubber and it was left on the hot plate after cooking for 3-4 mins because nobody would pick it up and bring too us. The staff have no get up and go. They walk past dirty tables leaving used crockery on the table so nobody else can sit there. Worse cafe ever been in.
