Stayed at The Lister Arms for a couple of nights mid week. We stayed in the Lister Barn which is a 2 minute walk from the actual pub. Cosy and warm, tastefully decorated with lovely toiletries - a real gem of a place. The main pub is really cosy, with a gorgeous fire burning all day and evening. Breakfast and dinner here were both really good with large portions. Lots of dogs inside the bar area too which was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

We stayed three nights at the Lister Arms and absolutely loved it. We were given room 10 which is just to the rear of the pub but was lovely and quiet. It was one of the cosy rooms but still had plenty of space. The bed was super comfy and the room was tastefully decorated. It was also spotlessly clean. We had booked for dinner on the first night but ended up eating there every night. Food and service were both great. There was a really nice friendly atmosphere in the pub. There was a good choice for breakfast and all quality produce. The location cannot be topped. It is so handy for great walks and drives in the dales. I can’t fault anything and would highly recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights mid-week. A character room cost £200 a night including breakfast. Room 14 was very nice with a separate lounge area and a king size bed. Although it was a little noisy due to the boiler room which served 3 rooms. The beer was excellent and bar selection was very good. Although a Thwaites ale was almost £6 a pint which i thought was steep. The dinner menu had a wide selection and the quality was good, but nothing spectacular. Breakfast was excellent with cooked and continental options. It’s also worth noting that this place is very dog friendly. It’s the best on offer in Malham - but I don’t think there’s much competition ;-) I’d certainly stay again.

Came here for a bite to eat and drink after a walk to Malham cove. The pub is really nice and lovely outside area. Service was ok but we felt a bit let down by the food as thought it was a bit pricey for what it was. £20 for a average burger seems slightly steep

Just back from spending 3 nights at this pub/hotel and I couldn’t praise it enough. Setting is brilliant, a great part of the Yorkshire dales with plenty of walks on the door step. Staff are 100% professional and helpful. Food from breakfast to dinner was great, all locally sourced with info on the board where a lot of there ingredients comes from. Rooms were brilliant, or ours was anyway, room 4.Clean/tidy with everything we could ask for, coffee/tea etc etc. There were two adults and a dog but didn’t feel squeezed in the room. Allowing dogs is another great addition at only an extra £20 for the stay. If we were to go bs I to Yorkshire i would love to visit this hotel area again. 100% recommend to anyone wanting a brilliant hotel/pub in the area. 👏👌👍

I went here with my wife and teenage daughter and our dog after a walk around Malham Cove, Gorsdale Scar and Janet’s Foss. We were welcomed by the very pleasant barman and chose to sit in the lovely beer garden outside. They clearly have an excellent chef as the lunch was superb. I would particularly recommend the rump steak. Prices were reasonable and the accompanying local beer spot on. Just how a pub should be!

Lovely Hotel restaurant set in the Yorkshire dales. Nicely appointed, very comfortable rooms with White company toiletries. The restaurant food was extremely good, nice choice of mainstays with some great local produce. I had the fillet steak, which was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic, in fact it is my top 10 best steaks I've ever eaten! Good selection of wines great local cheese to finish off. Breakfast was an equally good experience and breakfast is included in the price! Great location for walking/ hiking and is also dog friendly. Finally, staff are great. Yorkshire friendly and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning!

A really super place to stay whilst in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. We arrived early but there was no problem with access to our room. Lunch was fab, and dinner was to die for. So much fantastic choices, and the staff were so friendly and keen to make sure we had a good time. Even though it was a Thursday evening, the place was full (a good sign that they are doing things well). Breakfast was also brilliant, with lots of choices and excellent fresh produce (our dog was even given his own sausage for his breakfast- a very nice touch). Loads of nice beers on the bar, thoroughly recommend the Hetton Blonde. The rooms are lovely and clean, with great facilities/shower/TV/wifi etc. Top tip - don’t park under the trees next to the stream in the car park, as there must be a flock of ostriches living in the trees. My car was inches deep in bird poo 😂

Impeccable service from check in to check out. Amazing food at dinner and breakfast. The staff were all lovely and friendly. And the room was amazing, nothing to fault at all. Room 15 was stunning, being awoken by roosters was a lovely alarm clock and a reminder of just how much in the country this place is. I absolutely will be coming back and this time for longer than one night and one meal.

A lovely stay at the Lister Arms Barn for 2 nights with our dog. Room very comfortable with supplies of hot drinks and biscuits. Nice cosy communal area within the barn with sofas, log burner and endless supply of free hot drinks. We had breakfast and dinner in the pub. Great food and excellent service by very friendly staff who always made us all feel welcome, especially our dog who got spoilt with home made dog biscuits and a sausage for breakfast. As separate area in the restaurant is available for those who don’t like to be amongst dogs. Fabulous location with beautiful scenic walks that were not too challenging with plenty of options for short or long distance.

Very friendly busy pub serving very good mainly traditional British cuisine. A good range of draught beers, friendly staff. Our only down side would be the price of the food and drinks which we consider to be a little bit over priced.

We called into The Lister Arms after a nice long walk in the gorgeous village of Malham. We were very much looking forward to some food and a few drinks but unfortunately our experience was nothing short of abysmal. We ordered two cheese and onion pies which when arrived we quickly found to be a bit of mash in pastry. No ‘caramelised onions’ and the tiniest bit of cheese known to man. The waitress came over and asked how everything was with our food. I very politely said that the pie was just full of mash and not much else. I was met with a very dismissive and rude response stating that the cheese and onion pie was one of their best selling items and they had never had that feedback before. We were then ignored for the remainder of the meal - we were not asked if we wanted more drinks, deserts or the bill. When we asked for the bill, we were met with a grunt before the bill and card reader was flung on the table in front of us. We wanted to split the bill but this apparently wasn’t an option. We had to return the card reader to a different member of staff after paying as our waitress clearly had no intention of returning to make sure payment had been made. We were asked a question about how our food was and although we by no means ‘kicked off’ and only provided polite and honest feedback were treated appallingly. The name of our server was Rachel - you might want to consider giving her a bit of extra training about how to deal with and treat paying customers. I’d go as far as to say she was probably the rudest waitress I have ever come across. Whilst the venue itself is lovely - we shall not be returning or recommending to anyone.

How rude! We called in at lunchtime for drinks and the gentleman behind the bar was so rude! I asked for lager and lime. He said no lime….. ok then so I went to pay cash and he said I can’t change that I’ve just opened! There really was no need to speak to us in the way he did. So after a long walk we decided to go back for food as it was the only place really to eat. We sat at a table and my partner asked for a menu. The same guy brought us a menu and said “you can have a menu but we are busy”! His tone was rude again (he was an older gentleman). At this point my partner was ready to confront him so we left. Yes the pub was busy but there are ways of talking to people (being in the pub trade ourselves). After reading the reviews on here we were so disappointed at how we were treated. I would like to say that the barman who served me for drinks before we sat didn’t was lovely! But the other guy needs training in customer service!

We had completed the Malham circular walk, which I’d highly recommended and as we returned to the car we spotted this pub and it’s outdoor garden by the river. It was busy with people enjoying a drink and/or food so we decided to give it a try and are really glad we did! Easy ordering via the QR code on the table and drinks brought promptly. Food arrived in good time too and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the small fish and chips which really wasn’t a small portion at all and my husband had the burger. Both were hot and very tasty. We found the service to be prompt and friendly and were really pleased to have stumbled upon the pub. We would thoroughly recommend a visit!

This was a much welcome bolt hole after a great walk around the cove. The staff were lovely - attentive and chatty. Children really enjoyed their food, both had fish and chips - was fresh and tasty as I had the same! As only sorbet/fruit...

Good food, good atmosphere and good service at very sensible prices. Latterly returned for drinks and again the same comments apply. Great outdoor space.

On arrival the pub does not inspire confidence in the quality of food - but it was really very good. I was dubious about the sizes of sunday roasts after reading a previous review - and to be fair, the plates do not arrive loaded with masses of veg or mash. However, we all left feeling satisfied and it really felt like well prepared, high quality food. The steak and ale pie, and steak and ale yorkie had the same filling, which was superb.

Fantastic place. Roll with bacon and sausage was lovely. Really good quality ingredients and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I've been coming here on caving trips for 25 years and always either start or finish the day in Inglesport. Love it. The only thing I'd say... bring back the pints of tea!!! And please don't ever stop doing the tiffin, it is the best on the planet.

After driving around the Yorkshire Dale's, we were in need of a drink and snack. We came across this lovely little tearoom and we weren't disappointed, quirky and quaint I would say, very friendly, great value for money too.

We were a party of 16 for Sunday lunch we prebooked a couple of days before to give the chef a heads up. Only one chef on duty that day. We had wonderful service. We all had different meals and all served on time to eat together. A very happy 80th birthday meal. Thanks to all the staff on duty on the 29th September. Everyone enjoyed there meal and well done the chef
