Beautiful setting but poor customer service. The person who served us verged in rudeness, insisting on us conforming to the rule of a table number before we ordered despite the place being nearly empty. Felt like Fawlty. Towers.

Visited with friends just after opening (9:30am) to get a takeaway lunch for our day of walking. Website was encouraging promoting the awards won and celebrity endorsements. Waited at shop counter for ages without a welcome although many staff walked past. I went into cafe to explain I was hoping to order a takeaway lunch as advertised on their website and was told to wait at the shop counter. Haven waited a while I went back to cafe and without apology they asked someone to come out and serve. A man came out complaining it wasn’t yet lunchtime and they don’t really do takeaway (despite a large chalkboard on the counter offering takeaway baguettes and other treats). After much flapping and serving a post office customer he reluctantly put in the order to the kitchen. We then overheard kitchen staff moaning about having to make a sandwich on top of serving two other customers who wanted breakfast. Meanwhile two of my friends gave up and waited outside and the third attempted to buy a bottle of gin but was told he was in the post office counter and needed to make one step to the left to make his purchase… My baguette was handed over to me without a word, and the gin was purchased. The whole experience was disappointing. They suggest they do so much more - which is probably how they win awards - but in reality don’t like serving people. The baguette wasn’t great either…

Farm shop/cafe in a beautiful setting and the food looked lovely. The cafe was busy and they had put a hold on orders until they had caught up. We were asked to take a seat and they’d call us over when they were ready to take our order. Not a problem, we got a table and enjoyed the view. We waited, along with a few other tables who’d been asked to do the same. Half an hour passed and I saw they had started to take other peoples orders who had arrived after us and then began to take orders from people just arriving. I gave it a few more minutes then left. Very disappointing service.

We called to the shop on the way to Malham on a sunny Saturday and were so impressed by the shop and the friendly service that we decided to lunch here after our Malham walk. So we ignored lots of attractive eating options in Malham to return to the farm shop. We ordered a mushroom baguette and a cheese toastie with ham and tomato. Unfortunately the cheese toastie didn’t contain any cheese and was thus very dry. The baguette failed to arrive. the young lady who took our order also failed to arrive to ascertain if everything was satisfactory. We eventually gave up, and went to pay. The lady who took our order was at the till, along with two others. I said the baguette we’d ordered didn’t arrive, and there was no cheese in the cheese toastie. A glib ‘ sorry about that ‘ really does leave a sour taste in your mouth. We paid for the two drinks and the toastie. As we were still hungry having had to share 1 toastie, we went to the shop counter and asked for Wesleydale cheese. When the guy discovered it was to go with a fruit cake, he stopped us buying the cheese from the counter and found us a much more suitable and cheaper Wesleydale cheese. He was right, it was delicious. So,I definitely recommend the shop, but not the cafe. There are plenty of good places in Malham.

Having moved to the UK in 2012 to live with my now lovely wife I had come from a Canadian city that KNOWS how to breakfast and brunch. I spent eight years not understanding anyone's excitement over a Full English breakfast until having this one. IT. IS. THE BEST. Although its called the Full Yorkshire :D Still, Two eggs, toast, breakfast sausage, AMAZEBALLS black pudding, bacon, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms ALL done perfectly. If you love breakfast and are in the area, get in here and have yourself some. ALSO: great hot cocoa that is bitter, the way a cocoa connoisseur likes it (although you can opt for sweet). Service was adequate considering we were in a Covid situation, the waitress was lovely to interact with and the table was spaced from others and cleaned just fine. Nice view of the surrounding landscape.

We double checked to see if it was definitely table service and were told it was so we waited some more....still no one came. After 20/25 mins we left no service. It didn't help that a member of staff was 5 yards away talking to friends/relatives. She may have been on a break but you would have thought she could have checked with us to see if we were being served. Such a shame. It wasn't very busy either. Socially distanced markets in farm shop with 4 in at a time but no waiting, even at peak lunchtime. Tearoom had steady turnover with excellent choice options for light lunch. We ranged between baguettes, breakfast baps and daily special soup with delicious bread. Highly recommended. Coffee is excellent! Good quality food and prices reasonable. Staff attentive and service reasonable even though busy. Even took large homemade caramel slice home on way out as looked irresistible and had missed the varied display when hand sanitising on entry. We found this place while on the way to Malham (not been there for 30 years) and I'm glad we decided to pop in. The cafe was clean and not overly bright, with the most amazing views through the picture windows. The staff were friendly and the toasted teacakes yummy and though the butter provided did not quite cover them, the fruitful jam it came with filled in the gaps. The Yorkshire tea came in a generous sized china pot (no annoying dribbles or metal tang) and so did the accompanying hot water. Nice to find a cafe that still serves tea properly. The menu isn't extensive but there is a good variety to cater for all tastes. The (individual) loos, between the cafe and the shop, were spotless and spacious and there are maps and information leaflets to peruse. The farm shop itself is over two levels. The ground floor holds the food and drink and the gallery has gifts from local artists/ crafters. The latter can only be accessed by a flight of stairs but the less-abled can send up a companion to show things over the balcony. (pictures, foot fleeces, wool welly socks, cards, traditional toys etc). Downstairs is packed with jams, gins, pate, beers etc and an on-site butcher who will advise on anything fresh or cured. On the cutting slab was a Belted Galloway from " just up the road" . Everything here has provenance and few food miles. Apparently Tom Kerridge was here dong a TV programme a while ago as there are a few references dotted about. Must have missed that one but I won't be missing this place again. I could see this place being overrun during the summer (& weekends) with tourists as this is the only road into Malham, so if you go, plan your visit carefully. We visited just after opening on an October Sunday and the cafe was a quarter full .

We enjoyed an excellent lunch beautifully presented by friendly staff at the Farm Shop wile on holiday nearby for our first visit to the Dales. Good menu and freshly produced food. The shop is something of a treasure trove of goodies and we will be back to fill a bag or two before we return home. On the negative side why oh why do they suffer from the great British disease of closing at 4pm and not opening at all on Mondays. When will the catering industry wake up to the fact that people enjoy dining at night, not in the middle of the afternoon. This is something we encounter in all parts of the UK. Do these people want business or not?

We probably caught them on a bad day as the restaurant was exceedingly busy (which I would take as something of a recommendation). They were rushed off their feet but I reckon they did their best to keep smiling and be helpful. In the circumstances they did well and were apologetic in a sincere way for the busy-ness and so on. We were also unable to have the soup we wanted because it had run out (bad organisation you may say but we were quite late for lunch) and the alternative was very edible (and a decent portion) so I am not complaining. This place is between Airton and Malham, a very popular tourist destination where people come from all over many of them bringing dogs. The policy here though is only 4 tables are available for those with dogs out of a total of around 16-20 tables. There is a slight imbalance here especially when customers without dogs are allowed to sit at these tables thereby limiting the tables available. I think this needs to be looked at. Obviously not a problem when the weather is good as outdoor seating is available. And yes I appreciate not everyone is a dog person.

We enjoyed a late lunch here. Great food and lovely pot of tea. Nice place to relax and enjoy the views towards Malham after a wonder around the shop.

No matter how good the food, poor service can totally colour a cafe visit. But even the food was forgettable. Casserole served in bought-in Yorkshire puddings is an opportunity missed, and a disappointment . “Bought-in” is also proudly mentioned against fried fish on the menu. Really? In a Dales farm shop? Everything in the place seems overpriced.

Called in for lunch and I had the ploughmans platter which had plenty of cheese, meats and salad. The chicken salad was good. We had some cakes to go and they were very good with a cuppa when we arrived home. Recommended for lunch

Whilst visiting the Dales this was one place I really was looking forward to visiting. Shop was interesting but I regret I was very disappointed in the café. We just had a drink and a pudding which were very nice but as we had a dog we were strongly told we had to sit near the door. This is a place where customers with dogs are tolerated but not really wanted. Sitting in the three tables allowed [all by the door] was like being put in the naff table by the kitchen while you see other diners in more comfortable seats with views.. Will never go again.

We called in here as a special visit as we'd seen the farm shop on a TV programme and we were staying in the area. It was very welcoming and ''staff'' extremely friendly! It was interesting to see some of the food items from the TV programme and we were soon buying a whole range of items. It was then essential to try out the tea room! My special coffee was DELICIOUS, the sticky toffee pudding was GREAT - so much so we bought one to take home AND the view from the windows was AMAZING. Because we enjoyed this visit so much we decided that the next time we are ''up this way'' we will make another visit and stock up on food AGAIN! Oh, and of course go back in to the tea room!

Called in today for afternoon tea. We've been here before, but not in a while. Gone the friendly staff! None of the spare tables were clean, and we had to move dirty cups and saucers away from a table before we could sit down. We waited 25 minutes for a burnt toasted teacake and a pot of tea for two (not much choice in cakes left). The tea was very weak, and when I looked in the tea pot there was just one tea bag! Expensive and not worth it for the uninterested welcome. Went to the loo before I left and it was smelly, the floor covered in water and torn bits of paper hand towels - obviously hadn't been checked in a while.

We had driven past the farm shop on our way to our holiday cottage in Malham. After a long walk on Sunday afternoon we drove up for a cup of tea and cake, I was pleased they did peppermint tea and asked for a slice of coffee & walnut cake. Staff said they would bring it out, not realising we had to help ourselves to the cake, drinks were brought out & said help yourself to cake, well luckily the one piece of cake was still left, not a great system. Expensive as well compared to other places we stopped.

We arrived full of anticipation at 3:20pm hoping for sustenance having walked all day since breakfast, only to find that food is served just until 3pm; it's tea and cake only until what seems like an early finish at 4pm for somewhere on the way home from one of Yorkshire's most popular walking areas. The early finish for food doesn't seem to be well publicised. Although the 3pm shutters seemed not to have been quite so strictly enforced on the day of our visit, a bunch of happy (local) cyclists were just served egg on toast and soup at 3:20... I doubt it took 20 mins to ping the microwave! Our expectations were not too high - soup and bread or a sandwich would have been fine. We asked: 'NO food' was the abrupt response from one of the three or four under-utilised youngsters working in the kitchen. Apart from indifferent customer service, which seems endemic, the early finish is surely dubious commercially for an establishment presumably looking to build on TV exposure for entrepreneurial artisan food providers. I'd much rather be commenting on the food!

I'm ashamed to Say I've never been before and it's very local to me! But as I'd been to church in Kirby Malham, I had the opportunity to call in, I wasn't disappointed, although we only had cakes and toasted tea cakes, the food that I could see being taken to other tables looked really good, I will have to good back and sample, I opted for a lovely slice of gluten free lemon drizzle cake, (gluten free bread also available,)which is good to know for future reference. After we had finished we had a good look around the farm shop, which sells everything from gifts to gin! Definitely well worth a visit.

Four of us were having a 'day our' on a glorious Saturday. Having arrived in Settle we decided to continue for a further 6 miles and visit this Farm Shop and Tea Room of television fame!! With fantastic views, we travelled on the narrow single track road and met with 'highland' cattle, finally arriving at our destination. It was very busy, customers having arrived on foot, by bicycle and car. There is inside and outside seating. Lovely cakes, and warm tea cakes were enjoyed along with two teas and two coffees. Having taken our time enjoying our food and drinks and also the wonderful views an ice-cream was enjoyed before leaving for our return journey via Malham. Well worth a visit

We called here on our way home from Malham Cove. The restaurant area was very busy, which is a good sign! We found a table and ordered coffees with jam and cream scones. We were not disappointed! Freshly baked scones, raspberry jam, and cream that wasn't too thick and heavy. We then went into the farm shop and bought a farmhouse loaf to take home for supper. I can confirm that was excellent as well. Next time we're at Malham, we'll be calling in again!

As tearooms go, you really couldn't wish for more. We visited as a family last week with my disabled Mum, my Dad and teenage kids. Access was great and staff helped to settle us in. We've been here on other occasions and once again Town End didn't disappoint. The menu has something for everyone and portions are generous, the food home cooked (and reared!) and utterly delicious. There are lovely thoughtful little touches to the presentation too. The girls serving are polite and friendly.

I’ve visited here before but my colleague had watched Top of the Shop so we made it in our way to call en route back from a meeting. The staff were very welcoming and chatty and service was second to none. Ordered the Yorkshire Platter and it had more items on than advertised (slice of beef, slice of sausage roll) - bonus! It was delicious. We also took cakes away with us. The Farm shop, although small, is well stocked and I bought the Hebden goats cheese mmm. Can’t wait to come back!

Stayed at The Lister Arms for a couple of nights mid week. We stayed in the Lister Barn which is a 2 minute walk from the actual pub. Cosy and warm, tastefully decorated with lovely toiletries - a real gem of a place. The main pub is really cosy, with a gorgeous fire burning all day and evening. Breakfast and dinner here were both really good with large portions. Lots of dogs inside the bar area too which was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

Fantastic place. Roll with bacon and sausage was lovely. Really good quality ingredients and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I've been coming here on caving trips for 25 years and always either start or finish the day in Inglesport. Love it. The only thing I'd say... bring back the pints of tea!!! And please don't ever stop doing the tiffin, it is the best on the planet.

On arrival the pub does not inspire confidence in the quality of food - but it was really very good. I was dubious about the sizes of sunday roasts after reading a previous review - and to be fair, the plates do not arrive loaded with masses of veg or mash. However, we all left feeling satisfied and it really felt like well prepared, high quality food. The steak and ale pie, and steak and ale yorkie had the same filling, which was superb.
