Betty's can't be beaten for quality, service or value for money - simply the best !! My wife enjoyed the Grande Breakfast while I had the English breakfast, with Rösti Bites. Delicous would be an understatement. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble.

Lovely setting pity the food doesn’t live up to the location. For lunch we had belly pork which was average at best. Omelette which was inedible being greasy overcooked , the ham what there was of it was burnt . Overall very disappointing.

Parked the car and fancied some lunch before shopping. Literally fell into this gem 3 metres away and it was lovely. My partner was on crutches and doesn't like the sun so, when it was too hot inside, Jane seated us around the side in the shaded terrace. Food was great and service spot on. Thanks to Jane, Amy and all the staff who were so kind.

As a regular visitor to Outside the Box, being an Ilkley resident, I always find it an uplifting experience. The food is excellent also. Contrary to the experience of one reviewer, the bacon rolls are excellent and well filled with good quality bacon. Cakes are home- made and excellent value. It is also a great place for families with young children with plenty of activities. Well worth five stars.

Went with friends for Sunday lunch. The beef was lovely but the carrots over cooked so very soft, broccoli under cooked very difficult to cut through, let alone eat. Very disappointed with roast potatoes as very dry and tasteless. Think they were probably frozen and bought in. Lovely building and local to us. We left disappointed.

This used to be one of my favourite pubs. But went in there this Sunday and heavy metal music was blaring. Decor is just strange- not sure what lemurs have to do with the Wharfdale Valley. But the most disappointing thing was the attempt to be charged double. The second round we had was just two halves. £11.30 ‘ that can’t be right.,’ my friend said - instead of the bar woman realising that it couldn’t possibly be right she said ‘ yes it is right’. We challenged again and asked what the price of a pint was and then she finally admitted that we had been asked to pay double. It did make me wonder how many other people would just tap without even thinking about it. If you’re getting a round with halves double check and probably ask for a receipt. It’s such a shame because this was once one of the best pubs in the Ilkley. Please Ban heavy metal music to allow people to talk and make sure you are charging the correct price. Plus, maybe get rid of the neon signs which are just a bit hideous. But maybe I’m no longer the target market.

I ordered a Terrys hot chocolate & a festive latte when sitting down I realised there were no chocolate orange slice so went back to ask for one only to be told they hadn’t any but charged me full price but didn’t tell me when I was ordering otherwise would have ordered something else

We stayed at the riverside hotel for the weekend. We could not have been happier, the rooms are lovely and clean, tge breakfast is lovely. We had an evening meal here one evening and not one of us had any complaint about anything. It's perfect. The man who was serving us and chatting to us made it even more enjoyable ( sorry I didn't get your name) he was chatty , informed and a pleasure to talk to. Thank you from Dave, june, Alwyn, Joanne, paul and Pauline. ( the trouble)

I visit this store about once a fortnight - with my elderly mother as it’s easy to park and her mobility isn’t great . The food and service are below average but I am limited in Ilkley as to where I can take her. I just have to suffer the poor service and often terrible food) and my mother ( who has dementia is unaware of the majority of what is going on ) - I do not wish to discuss this matter further ( please don’t give me the e mail details when responding to this review). If management cannot see they have very serious issues in the way this cafe operates from the amount of terrible reviews they have received then that says it all ! I would like to thank the staff member who works on the door entrance for helping my mum across the very icy and slippery car park - the staff have done an amazing job to clear the whole car park of snow , making it so much safer for customers.
