Fantastic restaurant with a brilliant atmosphere and food. Zara and Becca were excellent adhering to all our needs and helpfully elaborating on the menu. They took our order calmly and really listened to our requirements. The venue is stunning with a nice wide open area, and the bar staff were really pleasant and know how to pour a beer. I would highly recommend!

Everything was excellent. Good size room with access to smart function on the tv (often deactivated in hotels). I also want to mention how friendly and attentive the staff was and the food in the evening and especially breakfast was excellent.

Must eat place in Ilkley! Following the refurb the staff are well trained, food is consistently good (many meals) and the atmosphere is good, very busy! Probably the best pub in Ilkley now for food and or drinks! Service 10/10!

First time back after the place has been refurbished and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely rooms and bar areas made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Didn’t have an evening meal but the breakfast was first class - definitely stay again.

What a great find this place was on our trip to Ilkley.Just a short walk from our hotel and out of the main town centre The staff are very friendly and the service excellent The food was amazing! We had a great table by the window which was nice and private. Highly recommended.

Beautifully renovated, gorgeous rooms, and delicious roast dinner!

Rooms feel really modern and comfortable, feel like they've been done quite recently but still very cosy. Loved the tea/coffee facilities - that you get good cups and actual milk rather than UHT goes a long way. Service was excellent, everyone was very polite and couldn't do enough. Breakfast was very good, too. I look forward to staying again.

Excellent food good choice on menu with fantastic service. With lovely dining area. Special mention to Emma for getting my toiletries bag back to me that I left behind ( at no cost to myself I should add). We will be returning sometime in the near future.

Very warm welcome, beautifully appointed rooms that are spacious, very clean, large and have lots of little touches. Good was great - dinner and breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly!

On a bitterly cold February evening we arrived for an overnight stay at the Wheatley Arms. We received a warm welcome and taken to our warm and cosy room that was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and with a large comfortable bed. (Important to note also, we were able to lower the temperature later for a comfortable nights sleep). In the evening we also met a friend here for an evening meal which was also very good and served by the friendly attentive team. Spot on, ( could maybe be enhanced with the addition of one or two less predictable gastro pub dishes). The bar area is also extremely well furnished with a good selection of drinks and an enthusiastic bar tender too. The following morning, breakfast didn't disappoint, once again served with enthusiasm and with a fabulous choice of hot dishes available. All in all, we were very impressed and would like to thank everyone for making our stay so comfortable, it's a definite 10/10 from us!

Wow. This was some roast! All aspects of the roast were cooked to perfection & came together in a delicious fashion! From the beautiful roast chicken’s succulent texture to the refreshing crunch of the green kale. 5/5 - I wish to come again soon - keep that kale coming!!

Run of the mill roast Bit far out of the centre, but lovely looking building and well kept No parsnips, but broccoli for some reason ???? Very commercial so lost some of its charm

Visited after the refurbishment and must say it looks really lovely. I only had drinks and food as part of a buffet for a party so didn't stay in the hotel. The Wheatley was always a nice place to visit but now it looks very chic inside. The drinks prices are very reasonable, especially for the area, and the service was very friendly and efficient. I look forward to returning - it also looked nice and busy and the atmosphere was warm and lively.

Personal, friendly, capable restaurant service, a lovely room with all the mod cons, comfortable bed, all was excellent.

Overall a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a great location and is a short walk from the local train station, so very handy for trips to Leeds or Ilkley without the hassle of finding parking. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and well furnished, the bed was very comfortable. Food was very good/excellent and the staff were friendly. However, service was a bit slow for dinner on the Friday because the pub was very busy. Would recommend to anyone visiting this part of Yorkshire.

I would like to thank all the staff who worked on Friday 31st January who did a tremendous job for my husbands celebration of life. There must have been nearly 100 people who attended and the staff coped professionally and attentively. The food was amazing and not a crumb was left. Could not have picked a better venue. Thank you once again.

We had a mixed experience.It is a beautiful building and nicely designed interior. Good service and friendly staff to start with but once food came that was it. No check-in to see if our food was ok and my roast root veg salad was mostly leaves with a disappointing amount of roast root veg and an ok sized chicken breast. It's not difficult nor expensive to have a good quantity of different roast veg to have made it a decent salad. I had to have more lunch when I got home (I eat salad often for lunch as do low/no carb) and at £17 I expect to feel satiated even with a salad. Most of the meals weren't that big although ok for lunch. The mug of soup with my son's steak sandwich was literally half a tea cup full. He didn't want me to say anything which I respected. The burgers were fine. We weren't offered further drinks but this didn't particularly matter and we still weren't asked if everything was ok with the food when they cleared the table so I mentioned the lack of root veg in the root veg salad. I was told they'd pass this on. Based on my meal I would visit again for drinks but I wouldn't eat here.

Two friends and myself had a lovely meal at The Wheatley this evening. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted with a smile and shown to our table. The waitress was efficient and polite. I ordered the small fish and chips which were delicious - a lovely crispy batter on the fish. The refurbishment has certainly had a massive impact on the Wheatley and we will be returning again very soon. Well done everyone involved!

Only stopped for a drink so didn't use any of the rooms, but saw them on it's Web site and looked very nice. The Wheatley is situated in a very quiet place in Ilkley and close to the moors.

We’ve been regular visitors since the recent fab refurb and enjoyed ourselves every time. But something has slipped as our lunch on saturday was really sub-standard. The food had clearly been left undeneath the heat lamps too long and - fried egg on the dried-out gammon was solid and the prawn sandwich was like toast. Not cheap either, £70 for one course and a couple of drinks. Not a fan of the bar staff chatting and kissing her boyfriend in the bar area before noticing we were waiting to be served on friday afternoon either. It’s also really unwelcoming having blank ‘reserved’ signs on 90% of the tables - none of which became occupied during our 2-hour visit yesterday. Placing a reserved sign on your table while you are enjoying a drink (‘it’s ok, it’s for later on’) is not good manners either. Put the reservation time on them so people have a clue if they can use the tables or not. Made to feel like an inconvenience at times. Hopefully things will get back to how they were.

Recently refurbished, cosy and friendly, the Wheatley is a lovely place to call for a meal.

We arrived in the restaurant at 1.20pm on 11 January for a nice relaxing meal for 2. We were there for 2 hours for 2 courses, and having waited for 15 minutes for our coffees, we decided to leave, as the coffees were no where to be seen. The service which we received was appalling, and we had to return our own plates to the bar to enable us to order our coffees, as a waitress had not been in our part of the restaurant for at least 30 minutes. When paying the bill we mentioned our appalling service to the manageress, or person in charge, although she managed an apology she was very curt and ran off a list of excuses for the problem. The refurb is good, but unfortunately the service which we received did not support the higher prices we paid for our meal, we will not be returning to this venue

Location a little out of the way for us but do like to experience other pubs .revamp amazing .didnt eat just drinks. Very friendly cosy and warm .spacious

I scored The Wheatley Arms a 5 because my experience was exceptional from start to finish. I accidentally booked for the wrong day, but the lady at reception was incredibly helpful and kindly switched my booking without any extra charge. The hotel has a cosy atmosphere, and the recent upgrades make everything feel fresh and inviting. There's a fantastic selection of real ales for those who enjoy them. My room matched the high standard of the rest of the hotel, complete with a Nespresso machine, a new TV, and a fridge stocked with real milk and bottled water. It was warm, cosy, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I’ll definitely return!

Stopped in after being out in the snow on Saturday. Really nice waiting on staff. The place was warm (I had been running so was quite wet yet never got cold). Dog friendly. Quick service and the roast was really good. Will definitely be returning for a traditional dinner.

The refurb done here is fabulous. As locals we’ve been regularly over the years and have seen lots of changes and we were very impressed. We came for Sunday lunch on a very snowy day and had a great time. Really lovely food, great portion sizes, good value and delicious. It all arrived as ordered and as a table of 15 we usually expect some hiccups when we eat out, but kids food was great and adult meals were too. Lovely helpful staff and the location of our table was super, we were given a room to ourselves and it was a perfect way to end our Christmas break. We’ll be back very soon!

Tracey was superb, good food, good room , friendly staff , lots of room , understated which is wonderful. Some places are false and pretentious which this is not.

We went for lunch on Monday 30th December to try out the Wheatley after its recent refurbishment. Although the pub itself looks absolutely beautiful, the service was far from perfect. We had booked online and had a confirming email but there was no record when we arrived. We were left waiting at the bar for a good ten minutes and it was a rather odd vibe if I'm being honest, the staff just ignored us and it felt very awkward. Eventually, things got better and we were shown to a table and the girl serving us was lovely. Food was also good although not exceptional and given the price, I was expecting exceptional. Service was also quite slow and this was undoubtably due to the large number of covers and comparatively low number of staff. Overall, it was fine but I would not rush back or highly recommend it based on my this experience.

I cannot fault anything at The Wheatley Arms, We stayed for 2 nights in 2 seperate rooms and with a dog. The rooms are lovely up to date every need thought of. There is a safe, robes and slippers, a fridge and usb plug in. The dog was treated as a guest and had his own selection of home comforts. Breakfast is a great selection of buffet and cooke to suit all dietary needs. The menu for meals in the bar or resturant is varied and the ingridients are very good quality. This was our first visit and what a treat. we will be using the hotel again in the near future. One thing to be aware of is the bedrooms are over 2 floors so there are 2 flights of steep stairs to some,

The servers did very well despite several things we either pre-ordered a month ago or ordered on the day not being available.

I have been frequent visitor to the Wheatley in the past but today was my my first visit since it has re opened recently I was absolutely blown away by its transformation , the service and food were amazing , I would massively recommend and will definitely rerun in the near future I would like to shout out , Andy,Matt, Vik,Anna,Zoe,Damien,John,Adam and Rob

Just moved to the area and visited having now reopened after a refurb. The decor and surroundings are classy without being fussy and overall very relaxing and welcoming. We’ve so far only drank here but will be dining shortly. The big thing for me are the super friendly and efficient people who are all lovely and welcoming. My dog approves too and they are super welcoming to pups.

I decided to have Prawn Cocktail and the Gammon and my partner also Prawn Cocktail followed by steak. However, having arrived we quickly discovered that it was a somewhat different menu option with NO prawn cocktail available!! This situation was even more exasperating to be informed that there was no longer any Gammon OR Steak available tonight!! Saturday evening of all days of the week. Needless to say, we had a VERY disappointing evening. This is not our first visit and we have had reason to complain on previous occasions to no avail.

We had a perfect Sunday roast at the Wheatley Arms recently, the food delicious and a great kids menu to choose from. We were served by Emma who was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble at all. The refurb has clearly been well thought out, a lovely space with stunning rooms. Looking forward to visiting again.

We have loved coming to the Wheatley for years and really enjoy the atmosphere there! We always have Anna as our waitress and she is consistently highly welcoming, kind and makes an effort to come and chat to us every single time!

We recently organised a company event over two days at the Wheatly Arms. We were really impressed with the level of service we received, from the initial booking of the venue to the helpful service over the course of two days, ensuring everything ran smoothly. We were also very happy with the choice and standard of food and rooms too. We wouldn’t hesitate to use the hotel again for corporate events and meetings and thank all management and staff for their attentiveness.

Such a welcoming, comfortable hotel. Excellent, peaceful room, delicious food and a comfy bed - what more could you want? Even the dog was well catered for with treats, blanket and a special menu!

We stayed for 2 nights with friends over bank holiday., the hotel is due for an upgrade shortly however this not detract from us having a great stay. Good food in restaurant and very good breakfast. Friendly attentive staff and free parking. Perfect location for seeing the Yorkshire Dales and Ilkley which is a great small town.

Comfortable, tastefully furnished hotel and rooms. Available private balconies make it extra special. Super menus at breakfast and dinner. Staff always helpful. Andy, the General.Manager, was very helpful in sorting out the complexities of a voucher scheme we had got, with a highly un-customer friendly website, Buy- a-Gift. Don't! A really good and memorable stay.

Haven’t been for a while as last visit was disappointing but heard there was a new manager so thought we’d give it another go. Didn’t stay so can’t comment on bedrooms but the restaurant needs a make over. Grim carpet and stained upholstery. The carpet in the stair to the toilets is frayed and very dirty. The toilets also need a refurb. Food was ok but pricey. Wine list is expensive.

Great shower and the breakfast was good. A little overpriced for a nights stay.

A fabulous stay for 2 nights. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food coming out of the kitchen- well done to the team in there! 5 minute taxi into Ilkley for more choice if you want, but the Wheatley has a great wine list and possibly the best pint of Dizzy Blonde I’ve ever tasted! Can’t wait to visit again at the end of the year when the big refurbishment is completed! Thanks to Andy and Victor and Lisa for looking after us this weekend!

Amazing pub in such a nice area too. Staff were friendly and provided a great service. Presume it was the manager on duty at the time when I was in on Thursday 9th May but she served me and you can tell leads the team very well. 100% will be coming in again.

I can’t fault this wonderful hotel at all , my daughter and myself booked to stop here after a afternoon tea canal trip at skipton for my birthday. All I can say is wow what a truly wonderful hotel in such a quiet peaceful area , was no noise or traffic while we here at all apart from the beautiful sound of the birds singing. Our Room which was number 8 was spacious and bed was massive everything we needed was in the room down to bottles of water and milk in fridge as well as a tray with all that’s needed to enjoy a cuppa in your room biscuits went down a treat thank you , toiletries in bathroom where luxurious and smelt wonderful , the hotel was well looked after and spotless not a sign of dust anywhere. Staff couldn’t do enough for us and as for the Breakfast well it was wonderful was even offered a choice of what eggs did I want so I opted for a poached egg which was cooked to perfection. Was informed that If we came again the hotel would have had a massive makeover which I’m really shocked about because in my eyes the hotel was perfect . Will be intrigued to see how the new decor and makeover will look like but hope it doesn’t loose its old quaint character. Thank you The Wheatley arms for our fabulous stay . Will definitely stop here again if in this area .

Hotel & room had lovely decor & felt really clean. Nice touches in the room, milk & water in the fridge. Breakfast was very hot, I hate luke warm food. Gave 5/5 as couldn’t find anything wrong. Will definitely stay again.

Wonderful hotel to stay in with great location for walking into town. Quiet street and no noise from the pub downstairs. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, from check in, the man that noticed my husband’s empty beer glass to the lovely lady at breakfast. Everyone was so cheerful and happy. The food was delicious every night and the room was comfortable, not quite as luxurious as we thought it would be, but the bed was very comfortable and the shower room was lovely. Didn’t want to leave but will be back again
