+ Walton View Hotel looks nice from outside and inside. + Food was outsourced from my Lahore for Asian wedding was very tasty + The service was quick and reliable - The overflow parking should be surfaced and parking bays made clear - lighting is required in overflow parking areas - the location of the stage should be in such a place that it can be seen from every seat in the dining hall.

I do hope the still pending renovation is considerable throughout all areas of the place and to a decent standard, as it's sorely needed. I also wish the decent carvery comes back at the original standard as before they withdrew the carvery option recently it had become less enjoyable than the well known opposition chain and that's arguably not saying much. The staff are the only real positive left, who were all attentive and welcoming. My son was a bit disappointed that the wooden play area was gone for the renovations in recent visits but hopefully they'll make a better one later on? Not sure if there's any room now though and will probably only chance a visit one more time once the renovations are finally complete with hope.

I went with my children yesterday thinking it was a cavalry to be told. It was just a roast dinner, even though there were signs up for cavalry, who was told there was no room inside to sit and eat, and I would have to sit outside on a windy day, my youngest, been a year old, clearly disabled, and has a pink pot on her leg We waited well over an hour off an hour for the food and when it came through on the edible thing was the Yorkshire pudding, and that took from chewing as I get all costs complete waste of money food is disgusting. I’ve never seen white beef before I ordered food here

I ordered a roast dinner which was "okay" you need a good sharp knife to cut through the broccoli. My daughter ordered the southern fried chicken burger, the chicken had very little southern fried coating on it, it was a "sloppy" burger, the onion ring were massive, however they were extremely oily. We both ordered cheese cake for dessert, one strawberry the other lemon. Now I love a cheese cake, however this one is the worse I've ever had. It tasted of nothing, no cheese flavour came through at all, no hint of sweetness to it what so ever, the only flavour came from the lemon, the strawberry topping was more of a thick blob of jelly, jam. When you see the pictures advertising the 6 Acers Famous Carvery, the food looks delicious, however it's tasteless, we were extremely disappointed. There's a notice board saying, take a look at our extensive menu, there isn't an extensive menu, not on a Sunday anyway. Oh and the Famous Carvery wasn't available. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sadly this venue is going downhill. We were a party of 7 celebrating an anniversary, we were told after we had ordered that there would not be enough meat on the carvery for the ones who had ordered it, this was very early evening so were a little surprised, the food was lukewarm at best and a little tired looking after been under warming lights for so long. we have been coming here for many years but in future, we will be going elsewhere.

Partner and I visited for a Carvery. Signs dotted around the building indicated that the Carvery was soon to close down - and after eating it, we both knew why. Only two meats to choose from - one of which had been cooked so long it resembled rubber. Overheard a customer on a nearby table complaining at the lack of turkey - the manager actually told the customer that they should have called and asked for some turkey to be saved for them ... I mean who rings a Carvery and request some meat to be saved?! Aunt Bessies stuffing balls, Aunt Bessies roasties - If we wanted cheap frozen food, we would of made it at home. Had to wait for a while whist they caught up cooking the vegetables. How do you not have enough on stand by ready to exchange when you can see it getting low? They are soon to undergo a major refurb - I would suggest a refurb of the food also!

Was busy when we arrived on a warm sunny afternoon, but the hostess found us a little table. We chose the carvery. I had topside beef, you get to chose how many Yorkshire puddings you have, and as many roasties and veggies as you like, there were even cocktail sausages. The Yorkshire pudding was the best I've ever had, it was huge, fluffy, and had a lovely flavour. Dipped in the delicious tasting onion gravy was the perfect combination 😋 The roux which was on the cauliflower cheese tasted homemade, and the rest was very tasty too. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area 😁

My recent visit to Six Arches Bradford left me with mixed feelings. While the Sticky Toffee and Biscoff Cheese Cake was a delightful treat, the Carvery left a lot to be desired. However, the biggest letdown was the service experience. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but one particular staff member who took my wife's order was quite unpleasant. When my wife and sister-in-law placed their orders, my father-in-law offered to pay for everyone's meal, which seemed to irritate the staff member. Despite my wife's attempt to apologise, the staff member huffed and tried to cancel the order. It was disappointing to see such behavior from a member of the service industry. Furthermore, we were perplexed as to why the staff member couldn't have split the bill into three separate payments. This made the whole experience quite uncomfortable and unnecessary. Overall, while the Sticky Toffee and Biscoff Cheese Cake was enjoyable, the unsatisfactory Carvery and unpleasant service experience have left me with no desire to return to Six Arches Bradford anytime soon.

I was very disappointed with this place. We had booked it for a family meal to celebrate my mother's 95th birthday. The table was not ready when we arrived and waited for 10 minutes before we were seated. We went to order our meals and drinks (we had to wait another 10 minutes for the drinks) served by the same person who had taken our order - he seemed to be the only one working! We then waited 35 minutes for our meals, the haddock was very scrappy and they omitted to include the steak from the mixed grill. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Went for an evening meal. Plenty of parking on site and easy to find. pleasant atmosphere inside with attentive staff. Had the steak and ale pie which was a superb huge pie absolutely stuffed with steak and nice to be able to taste the ale in the gravy. This was served with home made chips which where a nice change from the usual frozen ones most pubs sell. Could be wrong but I think they were cooked in beef dripping which adds to the flavour and authenticity. If you have any room left would recommend the desert counter, I had a huge chuck of cheesecake which was covered in all kinds of chocolate goodies. Definitely worth a visit

What can I say other than thoroughly disappointed. Considering the prices rival that of what you pay down south the food on this occasion fell well short of the standards that that would be expected. A few things to mention were the pikes of Yorkshire puddings left on top of the heater hood outside of the hood meant they were stone cold and chewy, the roast potatoes were somehow white and chewy. Apart from the beef the rest of the meet had a funny taste to it. When I requested some of each of the meats they gave me 1 single slice of each and pretty small slices to boot, now I don't know about you but one of the main reasons I go to a carvery is my love for a good portion of meat that you can decorate with the trimmings. There were two tables next to us that also made similar complaints so it was noticed by many. One thing I would say is that after complaining my wife got her meal refunded

The carvery was not good , beef tough , veg hard and as I have a food allergy could not have my chosen veg as someone ha d spilled sweetcorn into it so as far as I was concerned it was contaminated . So the meal was disappointing and my family were very disappointed as some had travelled quite a way . You go to the bar to order and if there was a notepad left on the table to write down a large order it would be easier . Access to the carvery area is difficult if you are unable to get up the stairs , the grab rail has been partly built onto which for me was difficult to get up and down . THUMBS DOWN ! All the party (11 of us) had paid and ordered by 12.30. 7 ordered the carvery and 5 ordered = x2 breakfasts Chicken curry Mixed grill 12oz steak All 7 people had finished the carvery and the other 5 still hadn't received any food, after an hour and 20 mins of booking food my husband asked where the food was to be told it would be 5 minutes. An apology was given explaining the staff who took the order should've told the carvery orders to collect the food when other orders were nearly ready and the 12oz steak took a long time to cook as its thick (medium rare was ordered). Got to say this put a downer on what should've been an enjoyable meal, we won't be returning Very disappointed indeed

Booked a table for 6 for the festive 2 course meal. Some of the group hadnt arrived and were invited to take a table in the bar to get drinks while we waited. Asked for a low alcohol wine. The young lady serving didn't know what we meant. A bar man told her to go look. She came back with a bottle of white - 11%!! We bought a lager instead. A waitress (loosely termed as no table service once in), asked us to move to our table to 'free up' the table in the bar. As we sat down, she said 'just say table 9 when you go for the carvery.'We joined the queue for the carvery, being moved this way then that way to allow waitresses and other guests to pass. We reached the carvery after 20 minutes only to be told you have to pre-pay. Back to the bar area to pay. Queue another 15 minutes. The meat was very nice, but the veg was undercooked and cold. The roast potatoes were overdone and the onion gravy was overloaded with hard onions. By this time we needed another drink. Another trip to the bar. Basically, your choice is to eat the meal while it's luke warm or leave it to get stone cold while you queue at the bar for a drink. A double vodka and coke was ordered in the next round and was flat. Return to the bar where we were asked how long we'd had the drink. Literally minutes. Then told 'well we had to change the gas 15 minutes ago. We said the coke should be fizzy since we'd only had the drink 5 minutes? Well you must have had a warm glass was the reply. We’d bought a double vodka and only received a single after bar person said to the girl serving - ‘just give her another!’ When told we’d bought a double, it was questioned. When we ordered another round - which included a single vodka, staff were flippant - ‘just a single this time?’ Before leaving, we visited the toilets. One toilet in both ladies and gents which were dirty with poor flush. Note on the wall states any problems should be reported to staff. Didn’t bother given the service received all afternoon had been rude and unhelpful. A complaint sent to the manager prior to this review resulted in a feeble apology. It seems its what we should have expected as many restaurants do not have table service and no matter how he tried to resolve the situation, he would not change my view.

The food as always was lovely but the service was awful. You now get a maximum of 2 hours at the table which you are told about on arrival. This would be fine if it hadn't taken nearly an hour to get the kids main meals served. As there were 24 of us, then getting everyone queued and through the carvery meant a big rush at the end. It certainly wasn't the relaxing meal out we usually enjoy. Additionally, there was a wedding in the adjacent room and as the rooms are only divided by some thin wooden and poorly fitting doors, our whole meal was accompanied by loud music which was really annoying and made conversation difficult. We are really put off returning which is a real shame after coming here for years. When our Aunty mentioned the poor service to the staff there was no apology and just a 'thank you for your feedback'. I'm not one to write negative reviews but this has really been a poor experience today.

I went for a carvery with an old work friend on 24.11.22. The atmosphere and staff were pleasant. The choice of meats (beef, turkey or gammon) we're well cooked and carved nicely. The selection of veg was excellent. After the main course there is a...

Very enjoyable birthday meal with family after a recommendation. The upstairs area where the carvery is served was a little crowded, especially with the queue for the carvery being quite large too but there is another room so you could potentially ask to be seated there. The food itself was beautiful however and all adequately hot and plenty of choice, and the desserts were great too. We did have to wait for one dessert however as they forgot about it but all in all, an enjoyable meal out.

Been hearing and seeing the food for far to long and wasn’t disappointed. Fabulous portions, fabulous fresh food, Yorkshire puddings like you only see on the telly. Congratulations to Simon, the chef and his staff. If there’s a better Sunday dinner locally or in the region, I’d like to go. Food at the right price and lovely mixed atmosphere of drinkers and dinners. Open fire roaring away. ….. is it Sunday yet.

Where to start really. I have, on and off been coming to the Grouse for over 20 years. The food and service has always been spot on. 5* no doubt. We have recently been to the Grouse on a few occasions and the service seems to have nosedived quite a lot. There seems to be a choice from the waiting staff (not sure if this is something management have told them to do) that when we have finished our drinks, nobody comes to ask if we want anymore. This has happened now the last two times we've been. Over 30 minutes go by and we have to ask. Clearance of the tables is extremely poor. New drinks came and they just left the old glasses. We had to clear them away again. There was a table of 7 of us, we only ordered a main each and we were waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes for the food to come. We would've ordered a dessert but we honestly didn't have the time in the end up. I could understand it been slow if the place was packed out like it usually is but it was relatively quiet while we were there. As the Grouse is very local to us, we will give it another go and hopefully the service can improve. My friend has told me this morning that they went a few weeks ago and experienced the same service, but the food was great. Thank you.
