Lovely setting pity the food doesn’t live up to the location. For lunch we had belly pork which was average at best. Omelette which was inedible being greasy overcooked , the ham what there was of it was burnt . Overall very disappointing.

Attended an afternoon tea for a 87th birthday. We were sadly disappointed, we have been coming for several years and the quality has dropped. The afternoon tea we had was very basic, bland and beige. Such a shame as such a lovely location.

During the booking process it does not stipulate that you need to book 24hours in advance for the restaurant to provide afternoon tea. As a result when we arrived we were informed that we would not be able have this option which ended up being a wasted journey!

A friend and I had dinner here on Saturday. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the restaurant was decorated lovely and with great views of the countryside. We had the belly pork and the time taken for it to be served was perfect - not too quick or slow. It was extremely tasty. We’ll be sure to visit again soon!

We walked here from Cow & Calf rocks. The views up here are stunning, such a shame it was raining as we wanted to sit outside, but we can't wait to come back when the sunshine returns. Good selection on the menu. We went for the Pork belly and it was cooked beautifully, really tasty and the presentation looked fantastic. It was quiet but it meant we could speak a bit more freely as no one was within earshot. Can't wait to return.

We came for the advertised Mother’s Day afternoon tea today and we left feeling pretty underwhelmed which was disappointing especially as it was a treat for my mum. Positive things - We were given a warm welcome by the lady at the bar and the restaurant decor is lovely as was the view across the valley from our table in the window. Not so good things - Once sat at our table, we were left with no drinks menu or any information about the afternoon tea for a good 10 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy so the slow service surprised me. When the waiter came he asked what we wanted to drink but as no one had given us a menu, we didn’t know what was available. He came back with 1 drinks menu when asked. We ordered tea & Prosecco & juice & they arrived quickly but no food menus were offered. After a further 10 minutes (& our tea going cold) we had to ask about afternoon tea which then arrived with no explanation as to what the cakes were but more importantly, the waitress didn’t ask if any of the party had allergies. Given that at least 2 of the cakes had nuts in them, this could have been a dangerous oversight especially when no written menu had been provided. Your waiting-on staff must ask about allergies. We had ordered 2 afternoon teas & I was told on the phone that we could order some extra food for my daughter but as no food menu was provided, we had to guess as to what extras we could order. I’ve never been to a restaurant before where food & drinks menus aren’t provided. The afternoon tea itself was disappointing. 6 small sandwiches for 2 people (& no option to ask to have different fillings when one of the party doesn’t eat fish), 1 small slice of sausage roll each, a selection of very small cakes & 2 scones for 2 people. I think it’s the only afternoon tea I’ve had where I’ve come away still hungry (usually 2 scones per person & an additional savoury is provided). The waitress that served us for the majority of the time didn’t smile once, barely spoke & didn’t make eye contact. We had to make a real effort to get noticed by anyone in order to get a fresh pot of tea & to ask to order food for my daughter. I’m not sure what the issue is with the restaurant. It has the potential to be so much better than it is. I assume that under-staffing is an issue but it also seems that management need to train staff better in customer service & in important areas including health & safety with regards to allergies.

Went to this "restaurant" as a birthday treat from relatives. The place was virtually empty. Christmas music played in the background. The staff were friendly and polite but the food fare was really not of an acceptable standard. The sandwiches were a miscellany of thrown together meats and fish. No vegetarian options. The bread was dry and stale with a smearing of butter/margarine or mustard. The small cakes that accompanied the sandwiches were cold and appeared to have just been taken out of a freezer or very cold fridge. They were consequently not eaten. We ended up leaning the majority of the food and left having been there just over half an hour. We found the whole experience unacceptable.

This was an excellent experience in every respect. Gillian and Kevin were very helpful at the planning stage and in proposing alternative menus. The smaller dining room was beautifully prepared with comfortable and well separated tables, including attractive flower table decorations.. Guests were greeted with welcome drinks and then served appetising canapés of caramelised onion tarts with blue cheese crumble, country terrine with piccalilli & mustard frill and homemade sausage roll portions with honey mustard. They were delicious to taste and attractive to the eye. Guests really enjoyed mingling on the outside terrace with lovely views over open country to Otley Chevin as they enjoyed their appetisers and drinks. For the meal itself, organised in buffet style, we selected chicken Saltimbocca accompanied by potatoes gratin, green beans alaminde and ceaser salad also accompanied by a side of herb roasted salmon filet with chive. Again, each of these dishes was very attractively presented, were at the correct temperature and were delicious to taste. We would thoroughly recommend this menu and congratulate the chef and kitchen staff on their skill in preparing it. The desserts were equally good. I thoroughly enjoyed both a chocolate terrine with raspberries compote and some seasonal fruit salad with lavender syrup. Even the coffee was better than usual and we were not disappointed with the wines served with the meal. Service was professional and friendly and we all had the impression that the manager and restaurant staff were willing to assist in every possible way to provide our party with an enjoyable and memorable experience. They certainly succeeded in doing so! Our guests were highly complimentary and it confirmed our own view that while there are many excellent eateries in Ilkley there is no other venue that can offer, for an occasion such as this, such a stylish ambience, privacy and the ability to customise a menu suited to the occasion with skilful guidance from experienced staff.

Lovely venue and lovely staff. A very disappointing Afternoon tea with dry bread sandwiches and dry stodgy scones. The scones were so stodgy that we couldn't eat the small cakes( which we brought home), these not looking quite like the photos. My daughter treated me to afternoon tea for my birthday. Lovely setting and decor nice. Rather quiet so lacked atmosphere. The sandwiches were different to the menu, but it was picked partly due to the variety and fillings of sandwiches, one sandwich was virtually empty whic to be fair they did replace. I was given a vegatarian selection but 2 egg and 2 cheese rather than a variety of 4 and no vegetarian replacement for the suasage roll. We were really looking forward to it but overall were disapointed and both felt was average.

The initial surprise was that we did not realise, when we booked online, that this was a restaurant within a "retirmenet village". Luckily we were taking our 80 year old parents out for lunch but I am not sure if this had been a "romantic lunch". We easily found somewhere to park, checked in via reception and took the lift up 2 floors to the restaurant. From there on in everything was very good (except the weather). A very pleasant experience. It was a fairly quiet Bank Holiday Monday lunch but the restaurant is well furnished. A bottle of good New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc; a couple of fish and chips, chicken ceaser salad and BBQ chicked were well cooked and presented. The desserts were excellent - including a very good cheese board. Service was efficient and very friendly. At the end it was a very enjoyable experience and contented satisfaction of the choice. But the fist few minutes was a shock.

Unfortunately having recently had afternoon tea elsewhere which was gorgeous, this place had tough competition. The sandwiches were limp and not impressed by the salmon option. The scones, whilst they were warm, were completely overdone and miniscule. The puddings were a strange concoction and not sure that they had been freshly made. The service was very pleasant and had good parking however the atmosphere was completely lacking. Not worth the money that was paid, in particular when having the processco option. As something of a world-expert when it comes to afternoon teas in Yorkshire, The Clevedon was a hunch based on the reviews on here and it did not disappoint. The setting with a table out on the balcony overlooking the golf course, quiet and private, was ideal and the afternoon tea itself was one of the best I've had. We can all be given over to exaggeration in the heat of the moment hence I tend to write reviews a few days on to see if I am still as impressed. We had found a deal on a third party site for £16pp and it was terrific value. We weren't treated any differently as sometimes happens when you don't book direct with the venue and the staff topped us up with tea throughout the afternoon. Staff called us beforehand to check for any dietary requirements. All in all, really pleased we went along. Best bit of the afternoon tea? Has to be the scones...crispy, light and we'll go back just for those!

I attended a breakfast meeting here recently. There were about 40 people to cater for. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. The service was great. The grounds at Clevedon are beautiful, so it is a pleasure to visit. Very convenient, as it is so close to Ilkley.

I've been to the Clevedon Restaurant a couple of times previously and every time the service and food is outstanding!Catering for our 40 members isn't always an easy task, however at the Clevedon nothing is too much, the room was set out with everything we needed including free flowing coffee which was much needed for our 6am arrival! On top of that the breakfast was of the highest standard and quality. Thank you so much for your hospitality and I'll be back again soon for a personal meal or afternoon tea on the terrace!

Cannot fault this place. The setting, the views and of course the excellent food and wine served by the fabulous Angela. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had exclusive use of the lounge, terrace and restaurant as there were no other diners in! If you want a special evening out reserve a table here, you will not regret it, definitely worth it!

I used this venue to celebrate the launch of my local business. Service was excellent and setting very impressive. Staff were very helpful so made my rather last minute preparations look good. Highly recommend this place as a unique venue in Ilkley.

After visiting initially for a meeting, we today made our third family visit to this lovely restaurant. We have previously eaten indoors but today enjoyed an alfresco lunch on the sunny terrace. Fabulous views across the valley and a spacious seating area with make this an ideal place for a relaxing lunch or afternoon tea. Audley also has top notch retirement accommodation on site but please be assured, whatever your age, this is a great place for a drink, snack, meal or special occasion. Try it & enjoy!

My friend and I received a warm welcome and sat on the terrace to take advantage of the surroundings. We chose sandwiches which were beautifully presented with a generous portion of salad and shared a portion of chips which were delicious! A cool glass of house wine completed our lunch with no room left for dessert. Prices were reasonable and we could not fault anything. The service was excellent and we will look forward to our next visit!

Best kept secret in the area. Excellent food, good service and great views. Can thouroughly recommend the smoked duck and the halibut was as good as any I have eaten. Friendly and professional service. Worth the slight detour out of Ilkley. Very comfortable lounge and library in which to enjoy your coffee.

arrived at the restaurant to discover it was fish and chip night [which was good for all of us]the order was taken cod and chips for 3 with mushy peas and beer battered large cod for one with triple cooked chips.looking at the smiling faces afterwards it has to be said the food went down very well as you would expect from a Yorkshire restaurant cooking a traditional dish.As for the drinks 3 fruit juices and a local brew from the Ilkley brewery .as for deserts only 3 of us decided to partake one had a rhubarb roll with cream running through the middle one had date and tracle pudding and one had chocolate and peppermint cheesecake surrounded by after eight mints with pineapple cubes on the dish [amazing dish]so the bill for the 4 of us came to £77 and well worth the price great food great service. One down side and its only a personal thing when the waitress came back to serve us she always stank of cigarettes which when your a non smoker can be a little off putting but that is up to the management

We live in baildon, and have used cafe Nine quite a lot. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Quick to get your order taken, even if they are very busy. They have a bit of seating outside too which is nice when we do have some sun! Food is always nice and fresh. Usually have a large breakfast and coffee. Never disappointed. Absolutely no problem recommending them if you fancy a bite or a coffee, they will sort you out!

Once again! Absolutely delicious. Got the spiced scollop butty & it was beautiful. The curry sauce & mushy peas 👌🏼 My new favourite fish shop ⭐️

Can’t complain about staff they were brilliant, but the food was not worth the money, we had Yorkshire rarebit £17.95 It tasted like the bread had just been flattened and pressed into a small flat bowl topped with loads of cheese and stuck under a grill which the bread felt very hard to cut and quite solid it was topped with 3 half cherry tomatoes and a salad leaf (one) Not impressed We had come for the experience decided not to have the cakes as didn’t want to spend anymore money It’s not hard to make cheese on toast should of been better
