We were recommended this little place for a light lunch and it fitted the bill exactly. Busy inside but the weather wasn't too cold so we sat out on some comfortable table and chairs in the sun. Lots to choose from but we all chose sandwiches with a variety of fillings and coffees and hot chocolate. Very quick service by friendly servers and we enjoyed the time there.

Went to this cafe a week or so ago? Very lovely food which I super enjoyed, however my issue was the staff. All were SO lovely except one woman who was very stern and unkind to me, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. The door was also left open whilst I was trying to enjoy my food, and I was shivering for so long. It was a freezing cold day too. Also such a long wait which interfered with my valuable shopping time. It was ridiculously overpriced, £36.00 just for lunch. Super good food though and nice interior. Just need some manners, as it left me feeling super under appreciated as a customer and upset by this woman.

Been today to ‘the little tea house for lunch. My 7 year old grandson asked if there was a panini? But wasn’t on the menu. The waitress ‘kindly’ offered to do him a cheese and ham toastie. It came, 2 smallish slices of ordinary loaf bread with a slice of ham and a slice of cheese. Obviously toasted with a few crisps. He enjoyed it and ate it all. I paid the bill and then realised I had been charged £8.30 for it. So I went back to ask. I was told it was this price because it had been “under the grill”? It was more expensive than my jacket potato or my husbands soup. Completely disgusted with this cafe.

We visited the Little Teahouse for a morning tea and were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and the service prompt. We enjoyed a spicy Christmas tea and scones with jam and cream and although it was a bit pricey, we enjoyed our visit. Better still, there was a lot of seating so we didn't have to wait.

This is a nice little cafe in a convenient location. The downstairs is crowded and the other floors are up very steep stairs so not suitable for the elderly or disabled. The toilets are upstairs too which could be a problem for some. The menu is nothing out of the ordinary but the food is always tasty. The reason for this review is our experience today. My very elderly Aunt struggled with an overly full cup of coffee and spilled it down herself. Why was it so full?! Myself and another customer helped clean her and the table up and ordered a replacement coffee. I appreciate it was busy but the staff could have moved much more quickly than they did. Whilst they were polite, they essentially left it to the other customer to help me and only brought extra serviettes when asked. No harm done this time but this could have been a nasty accident so I do feel the staff could have been much more proactive and attentive. The other customer left his family to help and was much more effective than they were, when he really shouldn’t have had to be. The young ladies were very sweet but ineffective, clearly unsure how to react to a very shocked and embarrassed elderly lady. The man who I assume may be the owner/manager was very nice when he arrived on the scene after the event. Possible staff training needed!

As we came off the car park, the place looked inviting, plenty of seating outside on a lovely Autumn day. We elected to sit inside, we were greeted, by a very pleasant waitress, who presented menus, and gave a rundown, of the "specials". My wife was feeling a little unwell, & I immediately asked for some water, which was provided quickly. We were allowed plenty of time to look at the menu, we ordered sandwiches & hot drinks, they came in good time, & were presented well, on the plate, obviously care was taken, to make it look, more than a sandwich. A small side salad, & crisps, come with the sandwiches. The cappuccino is delightful, and the sandwich, was excellent. Slight downside for me, was the price of the sandwich, I think it is a little on the expensive side, but, I guess, it is in line with the area. The staff are all pleasant, & helpful, & the place is very clean & tidy. I would definitely go back, when next in the town

Carrot and Corriander soup was flavorful healthy and delicious. Little tea sandwiches are top-notch. I got the impression that a group of good cooks and bakers decided to open a business and the superb food was the result. We didn’t try them but there is a large variety of baked delights, and I wish I had tried the flavored hot chocolates as they were very tempting. Pleasant airy room, friendly quick service and superb food.

As locals who have frequented this cafe on numerous occasions I was disappointed today when we were served cold crepes. It was impossible to get anyone’s attention to rectify the issue until we had finished our coffee. The server offered to reheat them which we obviously declined as a fresh replacement should have been offered not a reheated option. Another server offered our coffee for free but when we went to the counter to leave they wanted to give us the coffee for free but charge us for the uneaten crepes which were more expensive than the coffee, I declined to pay for the crepes but paid for the coffee and left. Very little apology was offered and we were given the cold shoulder for complaining. We obviously will not visit them again. You may think you can treat casual visitors in such an off hand manner, but you have just lost a regular customer and any positive recommendations, Well done!

Visited on a rainy Friday afternoon with my 3 year old plus my friend and her 3 year old plus babe in buggy. Couldn’t have been made to feel more uncomfortable if tried - rude staff told us no buggy’s allowed we have to put them outside (in the rain) with no consideration of what to do with the newborn baby - also told not to block the aisles, the place is so small you can do nothing but! We then sat down and ordered some desserts for adults (which were very nice) and scoops of vanilla ice cream for kids. Never have I been more disgusted with service than when your waitress walked up to our table without a smile and threw the ice cream at us on the opposite side of the table to the children and without a word walked off. Throughout the time we were eating we felt so uncomfortable and completely discriminated against for bringing what felt like ‘a rabble of children’ - which they are not! - with us. With crossed arms behind the counter we were being stared at throughout, never a smile. Time to pay, and still no warmth from the staff - couldn’t wait to get rid. Thought was quite overpriced at over £20 for 2 cakes, coffees and scoops of ice cream. Never have we felt SO uncomfortable before and we will NEVER visit Little Teahouse again. If you had more friendly and accommodating staff it could be great but what a huge let down - so disappointed from what looked to be a cute little cafe for afternoon cake and turned into a cold, uncomfortable experience.

Brilliant service, lovely cafe Visited for lunch and the service was superb. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Food was fresh tasty, and the waitress didn't mind I fluctuated a bit from the menu. Bright, airy, busy. Lovely visit.

We called in after a fruitless search for somewhere nice for lunch..it was a very hot day and the outside area was pleasant, but in full sun with no shade so we went indoors, where there isn't much room between the half a dozen tables. The waitress was rather sullen, and when my friend asked if they would cut the crusts off her sandwiches, she said No, because they were already made up in the morning! It wasn't a lot to ask,but quite messy when you're doing it on a small plate with a salad. My "mini quiche duo", salad and coleslaw came at £8.95, which, I thought was a bit much. We ventured back for a cup of tea at 3.45 and they were closing up!The place was a bit "Fur coat and no knickers" as we say in Lancashire and we won't return.

I attended the cafe with my grandma the other day and we were greeted with a smile and wonderful service! The food came swiftly with not too much of a wait and everything we had ordered was delicious to match. The decor and feel of the place was so friendly and very dainty. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I will be going for lunch there again in the future.

I work round the corner from the Little Teahouse but this was my first visit. My partner and I both had the soup and sandwich combo which was delicious, the soup was tomato & red pepper and I had egg mayonnaise and my partner had cheese and chutney. As a vegetarian I don't expect cafes to bend over backwards for me but I was overwhelmed with the choice on the menu and that all the specials were vegetarian friendly. Great looking cakes on offer too but I was full up after lunch! Prices were very reasonable, particularly as the portion sizes were healthy and good quality, fresh ingredients were used.

This was my first trip to Ilkley, to have lunch with my non-vegan friends. I asked a staff member what options they had for me as a vegan, to which she answered ‘I’m not sure, what can/can’t you eat?’ And I had to inform her that being vegan meant no animal products. This lady did try to find out what I could eat and was keen to help, but after a lengthy process, I was told that beans on toast was my only option, which I ordered. I asked the lady if I could have some tomato’s with the beans, and she said that tomatoes were a breakfast option and so I couldn’t have any as it was lunch time... although my friend then received tomatoes in her side salad, which was fascinating. Anyway, I wish I had taken a photo of what arrived on our table. A small side plate, with a single slice of brown toast on it, with a small mound of beans in the middle... meanwhile my friend had a nicely presented ‘BLT’ sandwich with a side salad on the plate and some crisps. It surely wouldn’t have been difficult to do the same presentation for me? I complained about the single piece of toast and poor presentation, and the staff admitted they’d given me a child’s portion by accident. After all this I thought they’d at least offer to remove it from the bill, but none of the staff offered or apologised. They took off 50p from our bill. In summary, if you’re a vegan too I’d recommend dining elsewhere!

Went here today with my daughter and her vegan friend and was very disappointed in the menu options and the lack of knowledge about what vegans can eat.

Sat outside today, lovely setting. Quick efficient service. Snack very tasty, soup good consistency and well seasoned. Loved everything. Just a suggestion: credit cards should be accepted without imposing a minimum spend. It is annoying to be asked to pay in cash.

Looking for somewhere to have a drink whilst awaiting an appointment. Found this establishment by accident. Very friendly service a clean and nicely presented interior. Only had coffee, but meals that were served to others looked good.

There are lots of cafes in Ilkley, a lovely town in West Yorkshire but none are as good as The Little Teahouse!

After a previous visit for lunch ,we decided to try it again. A pleasant experience as before, my partner had the coronation chicken, I tried the smoked chicken and sundries tomato, and a glass of white wine. Both were OK, but the smoked chicken was totally overpowered by the tomatoes, all you could taste was a very strong tomato flavour, good in theory but overpowering in reality. I’m not going to give 5 stars for that reason, but one dish on a varied menu is not a good indicator of the quality of the rest of the food, we will more than likely return. The staff are polite and helpful and it’s not too pricey even for Ilkley.

We stayed at the hotel for the night so we thought it was easier to eat in the restaurant before we went out as we had an event on at Dalby Forest. When we checked into the hotel we were asked to let them know if we would be having dinner in the restaurant, we said we would be but wasn't sure what time, that was all fine but they said it might be busy. We went down to the restaurant around 6pm and it was dead. There were quite a few in the sports bar but the restaurant itself was empty. There were 2 waiting staff on who both spent most of the time looking at their phones. The menu online was entirely different to what was given to us in the restaurant. The online menu made the food sound a la carte but it was pretty basic, usual pub grub menu- steak, burgers etc. I ordered a medium rare steak and my partner had a burger. My steak was OK and it was probably medium rare but it was quite tough and bland and nothing to be excited about. I cannot remember the exact amount of the total bill but we did think at the time that it was a bit over priced for what it was. Wouldn't recommend unless that's your only option to eat out. Not impressed.

This place seems to divide opinion judging by the reviews but we thought it hit the spot nicely. Yes, the owner does invite you in if he spots you looking at the menu but we felt able to walk away, check a couple of other places and come back with no pressure. Sat out the back where there is lots of Bronte and Railway Children memorabilia on the walls. Even on a dreary day there were decent views over the valley towards Crossroads. In the summer the terrace would probably be lovely. We had homemade lentil and vegetable soup each, two sandwiches served with salad, pot of tea, bottle of water and a toasted tea cake for £25. For Haworth that’s not bad. Food was served quickly and was good, solid, no frills stuff - ideal for a grey autumn day.

Great coffee and cake, but a real shame they stop serving food so early, it was only 2.30pm. Cafe was clean and warm and good value though.
