Excellent little pub. Great service, great range of top quality beers. The food was absolutely memorable. Enormous serves, each plate could serve about four people but we all tried our best to finish it because it was just so good.

Ate here with my partner whilst staying in Howarth. Up the hill from where we were staying but literally a 4 minute walk. We'd pre-booked online but there were some free tables. We ordered fish pie and veg and steak pie, mash and peas. Food was lovely, hot and tasty. Staff were good. We had 2 drinks (cider & gin) and our meal came to £40 so good value. Highly recommend.

Second time stay, lovely traditional inn. Staff welcoming. Brilliant location right on the Main Street. Room great value, everything you need. Nice touch of a beer paddle included as a welcome. Recently refurbished bathroom and stunning view out the window of the Brontë countryside. Breakfast included in the room rate and is excellent quality really sets you up for some of the nice walks nearby. Also ate dinner there and the pie and ales were equally as hearty and tasty. Would recommend and looking forward to visiting again soon.

We spent two nights here during a visit to Howarth and have to say that from start to finish this place was perfect 😁 Really well appointed and comfortable room which exactly matched those shown on the website. The pub in general was decorated nicely and in good keeping with the surroundings. The breakfast on both days was excellent with really good quality ingredients and friendly staff. We ate in on our first evening and I had one of the best steak and ale pies ever. They did have a few parking spaces available on a first come basis. Unfortunately these were all full when we arrived but they supplied us with passes for a car park 5 minutes walk-away for £4.50 per 24 hours which was very reasonable. There's honestly nothing here that's not to like. Plus, at £120 per night for b&b over a Sat/Sun at the end of August the price was incredibly reasonable for this quality of service. We won't hesitate to book this place again in the future 😁

The staff here were lovely but it's a pretty standard pub all in all. I had grilled chicken which was very hard and overcooked (a meat thermometer and an air fryer would probably do wonders for the kitchen!) I could hardly cut into it, it was so tough. Wouldn't rush to eat here again but it was ok. Not the worst meal I've had by a long chalk but middling at best but if friends wanted to go here I wouldn't decline the invite lol. Very dog friendly, they brought water and treats for my dog without me asking which was lovely of them and much appreciated. Great location and I can't say enough good things about staff they are great, it's just a shame the meal was so underwhelming when with a couple of tweaks it would have been really nice.

The innkeeper is very inhospitable: it seems she doesn't like foreigners, or she simply didn't like me. I had asked for a later checkout (1 hour) because I didn't want to wait in the street for the bus that would take me to the station. She said they were "fully booked"...and so I had to spend 1 hour sitting in the pub downstairs, waiting, no coffee because it was past breakfast time, no conversation because in 7 days she has never talked to me, unless I asked her a question she had to answerback. I has been at the Fleece previously but for a very short stay and it seemed more friendly. Anyway, the staff and the food are very good, the bedroom was small but comfortable. The carpet in the bar was dirty and old and the place smelled of stale beer. The carpet on the stairs was dirty also and very worn. The bedroom was half carpet and half laminate, laminate looked dirty. The bedding was clean, the bathroom was spotless. The host was nice but had no interest in conversing, he made no offer to help carry the bags up the steep stairs, just walked on ahead. We were happy they agreed to keep our bags the following morning for 3 hours while we went sight seeing. On return my friend asked if she could charge her phone for a few minutes as she was out of charge, the response she got was "the electrics are old, we don't like to plug anything in" so I guess they don't plug in kettles, toasters or their own chargers....overall, we wouldn't recommend it

We just enjoyed an amazing meal at the Fleece. On our table we ordered the chicken and bacon pie ( it was pie night), the fish pie and two of the pork belly specials. The chicken pie was generously filled and served with juicy fat chips. The fish pie was filled to the brim with huge chunks of fish and was quite difficult to finish. The pork belly special went down a treat. It was soft and unctuous and served with a crispy slice of battered black pudding, red cabbage and potatoes. Even though we were all full dessert was again a special and was a lemon curd and fruit tart with meringue and ice cream. It didn't last long! Fantastic service and welcome. Look forward to visiting again for food soon.

Turned up for a table, it says dog friendly but what is meant by that is that you’re restricted to just the bar area to eat, they sat us down at a table with one chair and one stool even though there was four of us, we had to go get the rest of the stools ourself. The table said reserved but they got rid of that for us to sit which caused issues when the reservees turned up. Waitress didn’t make the table but rather just threw everything down and we had to make it ourself. Little thing like no drinks menu but immediately asking what drinks we want or asking if we’re ready to order when two people aren’t at the table. For a £15 mac&cheese I’d expect better service.

Visited on Sunday 30th June 2024 at about 12:15hrs. Nice place, waitress very polite , friendly and knowledgeable about things on the Menu, Food was hot and fresh and very tasty Steak & Ale pie plenty of good meat see the pictures 😋 we didn't have to wait too long for the food probably only about 20mins. We had a pint of water and pint of shandy bill was about £30 so very reasonably priced too ( The Yorkshire Man that I am 😅) it would have had 5 stars however the Gents Toilet window is without any blinds or louvers see the attached picture. So my concern was that people outside the pub can watch anyone who uses this Toilet. ( Toilets are very modern and clean too) This was mentioned to a lady who was managing the bar, so hopefully it will be addressed so clients can maintain their dignity when using the Toilet. Would I return? Well the answer is a Yes 👍

Made a detour on our way back from Selby just so hubby could have the steak and ale pie. He considers himself a steak and ale pie connoisseur and this still stands in the number one slot. The pie is packed to the pastry with melt in the mouth pieces of beef. My beef and onion sandwich was equally generous and very reasonably priced. It is our go to eatery when in Haworth plus it is dog friendly which is another bonus.

Visited last week for Sunday lunch and Wednesday pie night. Sunday lunch was beef and it was nicely cooked with good vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Just about enough beef too. Pies on Wednesday were great. I had the Steak and my wife the fish. Delicious. Beer was top notch and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just 2 gripes: the carpet has seen better days and needs either a thorough professional clean or replacement. Secondly, cleaning equipment is left next to the bar (and on it) near some tables which is very off-putting and would definitely make me choose elsewhere to eat.

Went in with my family, ordered fish and chips 3 times. ( not difficult order I’d suggest) my order came 1 fish snd chips and two fish pies. They apologised for mixing my difficult order up. My son ate alone whilst we waited for our fish snd chips. Ours came 20 minutes later as I ate my fish I got a mouth full of plastic, I complained snd the manager said I’m really sorry the plastic has got in the fish from the packaging I will take it off your bill. I didn’t eat anymore obviously. Then my bill came for 3 fish snd chips snd drinks when I questioned it he said I can only take part of the bill off. Needless to say I left without paying for one of the fish and chips. Very poor service and attitude towards customers. We were in there a little over an hour and 3 families had the same experience in that time.

We stayed at the hotel for the night so we thought it was easier to eat in the restaurant before we went out as we had an event on at Dalby Forest. When we checked into the hotel we were asked to let them know if we would be having dinner in the restaurant, we said we would be but wasn't sure what time, that was all fine but they said it might be busy. We went down to the restaurant around 6pm and it was dead. There were quite a few in the sports bar but the restaurant itself was empty. There were 2 waiting staff on who both spent most of the time looking at their phones. The menu online was entirely different to what was given to us in the restaurant. The online menu made the food sound a la carte but it was pretty basic, usual pub grub menu- steak, burgers etc. I ordered a medium rare steak and my partner had a burger. My steak was OK and it was probably medium rare but it was quite tough and bland and nothing to be excited about. I cannot remember the exact amount of the total bill but we did think at the time that it was a bit over priced for what it was. Wouldn't recommend unless that's your only option to eat out. Not impressed.

The value for money, amount you get and taste hits all three ,it’s always piping hot and tastes great, competent staff and always with a smile if you have not been here please give it a try you will not be disappointed

This place seems to divide opinion judging by the reviews but we thought it hit the spot nicely. Yes, the owner does invite you in if he spots you looking at the menu but we felt able to walk away, check a couple of other places and come back with no pressure. Sat out the back where there is lots of Bronte and Railway Children memorabilia on the walls. Even on a dreary day there were decent views over the valley towards Crossroads. In the summer the terrace would probably be lovely. We had homemade lentil and vegetable soup each, two sandwiches served with salad, pot of tea, bottle of water and a toasted tea cake for £25. For Haworth that’s not bad. Food was served quickly and was good, solid, no frills stuff - ideal for a grey autumn day.
