Fantastic large and very comfortable room which was great for our large dog. Provided a dog bed, treats, towel and bowls which is a lovely touch. The food was very tasty and the staff were incredibly friendly and doted on our dog. A fab location so close to the heritage railway station and park. Wonderful stay!

Booked a table of 7 in for Sunday dinner and some vegetarian meals too, and the food was exceptionally delicious, service was perfect and we all just felt so looked after. It was an absolute joy and I can't sing the praises of the fleece any higher. The pies (cheese and onion, and steak and ale) were huge much to my husband's absolute delight and all were super generous with great ingredients. I also want to mention how excellent they keep their casks. I had some Timothy Taylor bolt maker and it was DIVINE. Absolutely brilliant time had by all. Thanks to everyone at the Fleece for hosting such a wonderful meal.

The food was tasty enough but we were not told at the time of booking that the kitchen would close to all orders EXACTLY 15 minutes after the reservation time! There was absolutely no flexibility offered (not even a couple of minutes), leaving precisely 3 minutes to hurriedly decide and place orders once all 6 people had arrived and were seated. No time to choose starters and definitely no possibility of a pudding as the kitchen was well and truly closed by then. What should have been a relaxed and pleasant experience was in fact rushed and stressful. I would suggest that, if the Fleece continue to take reservations for 15 minutes before the kitchen is due to stop taking orders, they should make sure to mention this at the time of booking.

We visited The Fleece, Haworth for Sunday lunch on 23rd February, 2025. We had booked well in advance for 10 people and paid a £50 deposit. Unfortunately, 2 of our party were taken ill on the day and were unable to join us. When we arrived, a member of staff was setting our table so we let her know there were now only 8 of us. We all ordered drinks, to be put ‘on the tab’ while we were waiting for the table and I have to say we were not made to feel particularly welcome by the bar staff, who seemed a bit fed up. We sat down and ordered a variety of meals - Sunday lunches and specials from the board which were all outstanding. Compliments to the chef and their team, the food really was delicious. When we received the bill, the deposit had not been deducted. We put this down to an oversight and spoke to a member of staff who said a new bill would be issued but the manager would ‘need to talk to us about the deposit’. He duly came over and told us that as we had not provided 24 hours notice that two of our party would not be coming, £10 would be retained and only £40 deposit would be deducted from the bill. When we challenged this he said it was ‘company policy’, despite the bill being over £200 for the eight of us. The food was excellent and we had intended to leave a tip but the issue with the deposit left a bit of a sour taste and so no tip was left, which of course, was more than £10……..such a shame…..

After trying almost every other restaurant on Howarth Main Street and being turned away, we were about to give up and go home when we managed to get a table at the The Fleece Inn, and boy did we luck out!! Maya, our waitress, was brilliant!! She found us a quiet table in the restaurant area. Her service was prompt, polite and very attentive. But the food though - the food was AMAZING!! We had the king prawns the goats cheese fritters to start. The prawns were perfectly cooked, and were really succulent and juicy, and the fritters with the red onion relish had that salty tang that you only get with really good quality goats cheese. For mains, my wife had the Cajun chicken stuffed with peppers and I went for the beef and ale pie!! Both were absolutely outstanding!! We were both far too stuffed for a dessert, but did we let that stop us? No, of course not!! The sticky toffee pudding was to die for, and the cheese board was out of this world too! All that and a bottle on wine, and for less than £84!! If you get the chance, hit this gem up!! You won’t regret it.

Just dropped in here for lunch on a very cold February day. Found a free table for one in front of the fire to warm up, but was informed I wasn't allowed to sit there unless I was just drinking, not eating. Proper pub in tourist Howarth. On a bitter cold day it was great to have the real fires. An impromptu pit stop, the ham sandwich and chips kept two of us happy, the Timmy Taylors had me wishing we could stay longer. Recently had a visit to Haworth and first popped in here before a few drinks and sampling what was on offer elsewhere. After looking at various menus along the way, we decided to come back to The Fleece. They did say booking was advisable but we were found a table. I ordered the chicken with leek and wendsleydale sauce and my husband the burger. I had mash and seasonal veg with the chicken which were both cooked to perfection. I don't like dry dinners and usually drench my food in gravy (probably a northern thing) but no need with this meal. My husband gave the burger 10/10 and said it was the nicest one he'd had in a long time. The down side we ordered two sides of onion rings. The portions were huge and they were so light and crispy and not greasy like most places. We definitely only needed have ordered one though! Great selection of Timothy Taylor but I ordered my favourite Landlord. We found the staff pleasant and had no issues with them and the whole place rustic but not dirty

We love Haworth and this pub for a long time but the attitude we're getting from staff is getting worse and worse. Last night really ended our love of this place. Kicked out of our seats by staff after being told people wanted to eat where we were sitting. Not reserved, not even sat at a table. Booked a short break at the Fleece just to get away for a few days and honestly cannot fault it at all. From booking the room, to information before arrival, greeting and help when we did arrive, parking arrangements, all went really smoothly. Add to that a really nice and well equipped room, ace pub and great breakfast and then evening meal and it's a winner. The best though is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, all of them without exception, who make you feel at home. Oh and did I mention they have Timothy Taylor's, plus a huge choice of alternatives if you'd rather. The staff here were lovely but it's a pretty standard pub all in all. I had grilled chicken which was very hard and overcooked (a meat thermometer and an air fryer would probably do wonders for the kitchen!) I could hardly cut into it, it was so tough. Wouldn't rush to eat here again but it was ok. Not the worst meal I've had by a long chalk but middling at best but if friends wanted to go here I wouldn't decline the invite lol. Very dog friendly, they brought water and treats for my dog without me asking which was lovely of them and much appreciated. Great location and I can't say enough good things about staff they are great, it's just a shame the meal was so underwhelming when with a couple of tweaks it would have been really nice.

We spent two nights here during a visit to Howarth and have to say that from start to finish this place was perfect 😁 Really well appointed and comfortable room which exactly matched those shown on the website. The pub in general was decorated nicely and in good keeping with the surroundings. The breakfast on both days was excellent with really good quality ingredients and friendly staff. We ate in on our first evening and I had one of the best steak and ale pies ever. They did have a few parking spaces available on a first come basis. Unfortunately these were all full when we arrived but they supplied us with passes for a car park 5 minutes walk-away for £4.50 per 24 hours which was very reasonable. There's honestly nothing here that's not to like. Plus, at £120 per night for b&b over a Sat/Sun at the end of August the price was incredibly reasonable for this quality of service. We won't hesitate to book this place again in the future 😁

being regulars here we don't often get bad food here. how ever we arrived Sunday afternoon yesterday; and the food was shocking, needles to say my 13 yr. old could of done a better job. we asked for a dual roast dinner, the roast potato's where rock solid and couldn't even get the fork threw them. we had one slice of turkey and one slice of beef, the turkey was like jelly and the beef was like rubber the stuffing I couldn't even put my fork threw that either. the veg was left and the stuffing was left. we where asked if everything was okay, but we was that angry and at the time didn't want to cause a scene. after what we had been served with bad food already we didn't want anything else from the kitchen. especially with not long recovering from food poisoning while we was on holiday a week ago. general service from the waitress and bar staff was good, its just a shame that the food was shocking
