City Vaults in Bradford

The best place to have a full breakfast I've found in Bradford centre. It's excellent, nice food, well cooked, hot and the plate is hot.

Food delicious and cheap, modern surroundings, plenty of seating and friendly staff. Probably the best place to eat in the town centre, it's always our 'go to' place, and now has a pizza oven

Great meals and staff definitely recommend

Massively disappointed, I’ve been here a couple of times before and the food has been nice. Visited this time, the drinks were lovely but the food was not great at all. My partner had sausage and mash in the Yorkshire pudding, the sausages were slimy and the mash was definitely Smash. I had a chicken burger, the chips were cold and tasted like they’d been there for a while and the burger was gooey inside? Sensory hell. Needless to say, we both felt quite unwell after eating here and continue to feel unwell a day later. Lovely pub, but I definitely won’t be eating here again. I’ve had better school dinners.

Always decent food and friendly staff at a good price

Disappointing experience with the food. I've always liked this pub & the last time we ate here in Feb 2023 it was good. But this time was different. First there was a 40 minute wait for food, which was advised when ordering but it wasn't that busy so maybe a staffing issue. My dad had the fish finger sandwich on bread, it was a bit lackluster, the batter on the fish was too thick & over cooked so was soft rather than crispy. I had the southern chicken wrap , it was ok but it was falling out of the wrap. I probably wouldn't eat there again, but I would go there for a drink as it's still a good pub.

Great place. Decent food and fab service. Just a shame Bradford Council don't do anything about the tents in the city centre outside these premises.

Went in for a drink at about 7.30pm and decided to get food before they finished serving, completely ignored by the bar staff when trying order, the staff only wanted to serve drinks to customers who had just come through the door and ignored us who wanted to order food, complained to the bar manager who just shrugged it off with an explanation of its been busy this week. Decided to go elsewhere and spend our money

From the start the coffee machine was broken. And once we ordered the food, I wanted fries instead of chips which is actually mentioned on their menu to ask which you want. Due to us sitting near the kitchen we heard the kitchen staff tell us to F off and they started complaining because I asked for fries. Vile service. Disgusting behaviour from all the chefs. I do not recommend. The burger tasted like a rustler burger. The fries were decent. But after the service me and my friend received. Just felt Insulted. Don't put on the menu. Fries or chips. Then complain when we ask. Go to McDonald's. Better service.

Great pub if you fancy something to eat or just a few drinks. Staff great, plenty on offer, good prices. Nice location seating inside over 3flooors if your coming to Bradford you have to come here.

Got stranded in Bradford due to work so wanted pint, food and watch footy. Ordered Lasagne which is a safe bet on a pub menu, have to admit this was the tastiest vibrant flavour some lasagne I've had in years. Chef, fair play whatever your doing to make this dish dont change it!

You cannot fault the quality of the food and value for money at City Vaults. A reliable pub with a menu of good variety and plenty of choices plus a well stocked bar and variety of ales. Spacious with a wide variety of seating. Pizzas are also great value and so tasty.

All round great pub to visit to have a meal or just a drink

Lovely looking traditional pub with gorgeous ceiling and interior design. The only downfall was the food really. We ordered Cheeseburger and chips, which states on the menu it is a fresh steak burger, unfortunately it was far from fresh nor steak but a tinned burger with dry old salad leaves thrown on. Old onion and fresh chips but cooked in old, dirty oil 😞 We also ordered the Hot Roast beef sandwich and chips which again was old, rubbery microwave beef chucked in-between two slices of white bread, a crusty baguette would have been nice with nice hot Roast Beef and Onion Gravy. Then ordered the Steak and Ale pie which stated open pie which is fair enough but it was really a spoonful of beef stew with a bit of pastry chucked on top. By far the worst Steak and Ale Pie I've ever come across. Will not return unfortunately and could do so much better.

Just popped in for a couple of beers as we often do when in the area. Great pub with a great atmosphere. perfectly situated in the middle of town. One of my favourite haunts although haven't eaten there in a while but remember the food being excellent. Definitely would recommend 👍

Great place to grab whole day breakfast options and drinks

Closed early on New Years Day despite them the football. They tried to close during the match but were eventually nice enough to let us finish

Very pleasant public house good city centre location. We chose this as we wanted somewhere to eat before attending St George's Hall and this is only a short walk away. Good selection of drinks and nice atmosphere. Food very good and we didn't have to wait too long.

I must say I left this establishment a changed man. Me and my mates walked in with low expectations, we just wanted a place to stay because it was raining heavily and my friend Benedict was just involved in a hot air balloon collision. We carry my injured friend into the pub and we are immediately greeted by some friendly bar staff who ask us what we want. We explain our situation, the lads all order fruit shoots (the usual) and we sit down. The important part is when one of the bar staff seemed to take notice of the critical condition my friend was in, and walked up to him and asked if he could help. The man was named Tyler and he asked if he could "do anything to help" my friend Benedict. Benedict accepted the offer and Tyler proceeded to breastfeed my friend right in the middle of the pub. As this happened we were all cheering and clapping and the entire pub joined in to applaud the situation. Once Benedict was fully healed after the thorough breastfeeding he stood up like a phoenix from the ashes and proceeded to fly away into the sunset. We left Benedict to do what he wanted and we thanked Tyler and proceeded to order some food. We had stone baked pizza, paninis and yorkshire puddings which were all reasonably priced and tasty. Someday we will return with Benedict and his newly found wings of an eagle. 10/10

I've not been for a few weeks. Still received a nice welcome. Didn't eat this time as it was a quick visit. Having said that ... the meals here are excellent and delivered in a lovely manner. Lovely young people who run this venue. Always feel welcome here. Friendliest bar in Bradford by far.

Haven't been here in years. Was pleasantly surprised at how different it all looked. Scored food 3 stars, as I only got chicken goujons and they were OK. Will have to sample more of the food to see if it's deserving of a higher score

Decent pot and place to go before the City games.

Didn't have food so can't comment. Was a Sunday afternoon so relaxed atmosphere, pretty quiet. Best bar around this area.

I vist this pub on a regular basis and last time gave it a good review but not this time, I ordered a Sausage sandwich , the Sausage was served between two slices of white bread , very disappointing 😕

An absolute gem of a place. Quirky art deco styling with a touch of contemporary. Very clean and inviting. Lovely food delivered by the most welcoming bar staff in Bradford. I come here usually weekend ...find a quiet spot order food and start my new book from Waterstones.

Always a very warm welcome at the city vaults. A lovely gastro pub in Bradford. Lovely old quaint decor very clean and relaxing atmosphere. For me ....the best pub food in the city. Came this morning ( Sunday) with my young nephew who has anxiety difficulties. Staff here made him feel comfortable immediately. Very kind and considerate young people who run this venue. Highly recommended.

Disappointing nothing much open!

Fantastic 1920’s decor. Plenty of seating. Very affordable drinks and food to rival Wetherspoons. Glad the place has withstood the decades of change in Bradford. A must visit.

The food was absolutely amazing I usually get like a massive grill mix or a curry but I just come from the cinema as I wanted something small and something new to try.

Friendly and welcoming pub. Reasonable prices for city centre. Couple of pints, couple of large glasses of wine and two meals for less than 45 quid. Not too shabby.

No pizza's 6oclock on early saturday evening... & raining outside... absolutely terrible... for stock control.. there is no excuse!!

As usual great pub, great bar staff, apart from today when a group of women decided they could get 10 people around one table ,when there are big tables further into the pub, which would have accommodated them

Firstly I’d like to say the place looks great - polite staff, proper pub, lots of ales and decent looking grub. Sadly this review is about their dog policy - no dogs allowed! Usually, pubs are perfect places for dog owners - when restaurants and cafes are not dog friendly, pubs traditionally are. Sadly this one is not. Which is a shame as they are missing a trick. With John Lewis now dog friendly, and Waterstones, plus more dog owners than ever in the UK, it’s time to change. I hope they do. If they don’t, and you’ve got a dog, then go to the Waterstones cafe opposite - they are much more forward thinking!

A beautiful pub with wonderful ceiling in lower floor and very good value for money

It’s an atmospheric ornate hostelry and we enjoyed a delicious dinner. Giving Table No and order at the counter we relaxed with drinks. With no delay the mains arrived. Sharing a sweet treat with coffee and cappuccino was grand. It was a relaxing interlude and it’s awarded a high rating.

A good Bradford pub. Food & drinks selection is good and the nachos are probably the best I've ever had, I know you might think nachos are nachos but these are unreal. Only slight criticism is tables weren't cleared very often and plates of leftovers were building up. Would recommend it as a place to eat though.

Very pretty location, but tables not very clean and food was just 'ok', this was reflected in price in all fairness. However the staff are all pleasant and helpful.

This was a great pub to go drinking at, harboring a flashy and vintage style! The colours on the roof are beautiful and the counter is well-presented; I enjoyed a pint of San Miguel too. The staff were friendly and seating is comfortable, although I had to hold my card too long on the machine.

Use to be good, but not today. Poor service, messy table, the chicken fajita and the few chips served were barely warm. Instead of complaining I carried on to eat most of it and decided to give this place amiss in future. Member of staff asked while clearing if it was ok,who annoyed me by just walking away when I mentioned that it was on the cold side really,(what was the point in asking especially after finishing)! After which I complained to the manager who just thought I was after a freeby. Insult customers with cold chips+lack of apology =no return!!

my 6 year old daughter really enjoyed her Jacket potato and said its better then school ones and better then mcdonalds and subway and she can be fussy eater

Food is really nice, cheap and beer and all over beverages are cheap too, staff are very nice, recommend anyone who wants to come here to come 😊 definitely will be coming again

First visit in many a year. Great afternoon with my sister.

This is a very good pub. Large and seating on multi levels. They have a well stocked bar and a varied menu. The veg lasagne was very tasty, as were the burgers and the steak filled Yorkshire pudding. The skin on chips were lovely. Really enjoyed our meals. The prices were VERY good value!! Highly recommended!!

Arrive is rubbish, I’m am still sitting here waiting for my breakfast 55 mins later have chased them up 3 times. Don’t go to this pub

Tried a breakfast today, and good quality for £4.

Was very good, they do a food breakfast and a nice steak amongst other things. On the breakfast the plate wasn't warm and the beans were warm but not for long. But that aside it was really nice.

Had a breakfast dish. Very good value and enjoyable.

Wednesday night. A warm welcome - Welcomed well! Nice. A buzz of a pub with a quiz in the back, and various punters either couples, or 4 max lads out for a beer and a pint so cool for couples. . Menu looks good and fresh pizzas seen coming from the oven. I purchased the hustler burger and a beer. Wholesome food and well presented. However. Bad wifi signal throughout so push into your personal allowance :(

Had the steak and it was spot on. Unbelievable value so hadnt expected much but it was top notch. The real ale I had was also really nice.
