The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

We were looking for 'cheap and cheerful' and boy that's what we got! Food really good and plenty of it too. Very loyal and such friendly locals in an environment which was just great.... florals, drapes and nick nacks galore, with a warm welcoming open fire. So different from the usual run of the mill and bland surroundings. Landlord "Amos Brierley", thanks for your offerings. Young waiting staff, you couldn't have done more for us. Regulars, thanks for the chats! My friend enquired about a job there as we felt this place would make any employee smile!

Acaba de llegar para una bebida, precio muy razonable y buen personal. Sería un buen lugar para una noche con amigos, un montón de opciones de comida y bebidas.

Although we live in Ilkley, we have only just started frequenting Costa. We always went to Caffe Nero but it is becoming dirty and overwhelmed by dogs. Costa is is not dog friendly and is much cleaner which suits us. The staff are friendly, the coffee good and the snacks very nice.

Visité con mi mamá y mi perro (ambos ancianos) para descansar durante nuestro paseo por la playa. El propietario era atento, educado y muy acogedor. Elegimos el té crema de la tarde @ £ 8 para 2 - un delicioso bollo de frutas con mermelada y crema más té. A mamá le gusta su café, así que tomó un aromático americano con crema que era solo el boleto. Disposición de asientos peculiar, limpio con un buen ambiente. Volveremos la próxima vez que visitemos Bridlington. Gracias por ser amable con mi Staffie.

Habíamos estado fuera todo el día y estábamos alojados en The Churchill así que no quería ir lejos. Decidió comer en la cervecería y qué gran decisión que resultó ser. Pedimos del menú establecido que nos sorprendió que ofrecieran un sábado. Mi esposa tomó sopa y yo el estómago de cerdo. Ambos fueron increíbles. De hecho, el entrante de panza de cerdo fue el mejor que había tenido en York toda la semana! Tomé el filete diminuto y ella tenía la mejilla de res. Ambos fueron excelentes de nuevo. El servicio fue increíble como siempre. Siempre comeremos aquí ahora cuando estamos en York, que es regularmente.

We waited an hour for eggs and toast. Owner only cared about Door Dash orders going out the door. Given that Courtenay has so many great casual dining places, give this one a pass. Give your business to restaurants that care about providing good service to their customers.

Best fish shop in wakefield. Excellent service Excellent food . Polite respectable staff friendly atmosphere. And those who say its always full. Think about it for a minute wouldn't be full if it was no good.. . Apple pies nice toooo.

Fantástica comida servida por personal muy amable. Surf y césped era increíble seguido de pastel de queso de panal que se presentó encantador. Oh y los John Smith en borrador fue muy agradable.

Nice cafe inside , ordered a panni , sandwich arrived which i have say was very nice , HOWEVER, the sandwich came with a bit of salad and 3 crisps ! i asked if it was possible to have a few more crisps and it was refused , i was told i could by a full bag if i required more crips, by what appeared to be the manager, HOWEVER on the way out the same person was observed washing a bowl of prawns which were placed in a dish in a sink that was labeled and designed for hand washing only, were the prawns still frozen, who knows ? but why would you put a dish of prawns in a sink for hand washing and leave the tap running ? maybe the cafe could let us know ?

We were charged £13.65 for a pint of beer and a pint of cider while watching the Six Nations Rugby. The person behind the bar pretending to be a barman, confirmed this ridiculous overcharge but it took the intervention of the manager before we were finally refunded to the correct amount.

Food was an hour late , cold and missing ingredients. When I asked a waiter about the missing cheese from My Philicheese Steak sandwich he shrugged and said ‘it’s not my fault’ . Our waitress was surley from the start - possibly because the restaurant is so awful she must have been having a rubbish time. We received our drinks straight away and my father in law kept his tea to go with his food . Unfortunately, it was stone cold after the hour’s wait . 3 out of 4 of us ordered the Philicheese steak sandwiches and after waiting an hour for it , the steak was cold and there was no cheese. When we complained we were brought a cold slice of smoked cheese - when I said what about the other 2 people they almost ‘threw’ down a plate of 5 slices of this cheese. We pointed out that it was cold and should be ‘melted’ on the sandwich and also the wrong cheese entirely (I cannot stand smoked cheese and would never order anything with it in). The staff, including the manager were unapologetic and kept making excuses. As, by this time, we were in a rush to get to the cinema, we said we didn’t not have time to listen to their protracted arguments and excuses and we said we would pay for half the bill - which was more than we ate ! Awful awful place ! Don’t bother to go there !!

La comida era preciosa, el personal era encantador, pero faltaban algunas cosas... si miras la foto, eso es lo que te dan cuando pides un chocolate caliente con crema y malvaviscos. ¡Descubre lo que falta! Como deshabilité no es fácil volver atrás para quejarme, y significaría dejar algunas cosas en mi mesa, que no quería hacer, no pude hacer nada al respecto en ese momento.

Since my last visit probably a couple of years ago, the coffee shop has had a makeover and a new name, I am wondering if it is not actually run by Debenham’s. Everything was very clean and complying with COVID regulations. I had to queue to be served and waited some time, this was because the young lady serving was being very patient with the elderly couple in front of me. Everything had to be explained to them and they were very indecisive. So top marks to her. I had a good cup of coffee and a slice of apple pie. The cafe was a nice place to sit and relax.

I ordered an iced tea expecting a cold drink as you would want if you ordered an iced tea but instead my drink was mildly warm and made me almost not want to continue drinking, I hope this is a mistake and Costa understands what the iced part of iced tea means
