The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Staff was on point. They came to apologize for the noise which was not needed as we are loud ourselves 🤣 Food was amazing. Reasonable price. Would definitely be coming back .

We stayed overnight, lovely rooms and shower, friendly staff, handy for hebden bridge, nice Chinese takeaway. Good bus route to hebden bridge, Halifax, and Todmorden

Lovely atmosphere, staff were great, my only gripe was the parsnips were so undercooked I couldn't cut them, I love them but sadly all our table had to leave them (13)of us, we complained but got no joy, I suspect it wasn't just us. Shame we paid £75 per person

Great little country pub, had a lovely family meal, great options and vegan options too, service was brilliant and the meal was gorgeous! Happy family all round! We will be back soon

El menú -casi todo no estaba disponible sin explicación de por qué- fue a por huevos escalfados y una salchicha. ¡Esperé durante siglos a que me sirvieran una salchicha quemada, cubiertos sucios, bajando cuesta abajo muy rápido! No te molestes

A pesar de escuchar malas críticas decido llevar a mis 2 niñas pequeñas para la comida aquí. Pedí comida y de inmediato el personal tenía una actitud desagradable. Estuvimos sentados esperando unos 40 minutos por nuestra comida, así que pregunté cuánto tiempo duraría la comida. Los niños estaban hospitalizados y comenzaron a angustiarse sin pensar que solo tenían 2 y 1 año. Luego me dijeron que la comida no tardaría mucho y mientras tanto me dijeron que mantuviera a mis hijos callados ya que estaban siendo perturbadores. Ya sintiéndome abrumado y no deseado decidí quedarme ya que ya habíamos esperado lo suficiente. Luego me sacaron la comida y me dijeron que la comida de los niños tardaría otros 10 minutos. Terminé dejando la comida, ya que no solo habíamos esperado lo suficiente, sino que también habían dejado muy claro que mis hijos no eran bienvenidos. No recomendaría especialmente si tienes pequeños.

As a frequent visitor to dewsbury I usually always go to the timepiece for breakfast, dinner etc. However on this occasion on two attempts to go in, first one a homeless looking man came out as I was about to go in so I changed my mind and the second time I opened the front door to see about 4 homeless guys in the pub so I closed the door and left.

Very comfortable stay at this beautiful traditional hotel..with my elderly father and very well behaved dog. Its currently being refurbished so the bar and restaurant are not open but they provided an inclusive delicious continental breakfast..and with Weatherspoons next door and many other restaurants and quaint bars in town it was no bother. Easy convenient clean and very helpfull friendly service...could even see Studley Pike from both our rooms, Would stay here again..

Food was nice although I didn’t pay so can’t comment on the price. The tables outside are very tired now and could do with changing. Other than that it’s a lovely break halfway through the daffodil walk and perfect for watching the birds feeding in the cafe garden.

Ridiculously expensive. Two bacon sandwiches and two coffees just over £19. The breadcakes were cheap supermarket standard with two small rashers of bacon. Go to one of the other cafés!

Stunning setting, beautiful bar, great parking and tastefully decorated restaurant. Unfortunately that’s where the compliments end. Food tasteless and cold; service from bar and kitchen laughable; overpriced drinks; good food spoilt by the chef. I’ve never had anyone suggest eating here so it was a punt and now I know why. What a waste of a fabulous venue.

Lumpy mattress quite possibly the worst nights sleep ever ! No air con meant the room was either boiling or freezing . Bed side lights didn’t work either . Very dated hotel in desperate need of upgrading . That said staff were lovely but trying to make the most out of a of pretty poor proposition! Only stayed as couldn’t get in anywhere else ! Bar prices ridiculous at £6 a pint fora lukewarm lager !

I have to write & say we have been to this restaurant numerous occasions as it is so relaxing looking out directly on to the lake & a fabulous atmosphere , the food as always is impeccable & the waiters & waitresses are so polite & nothing is too much trouble, My compliments to Lakeside Restaurant for employing such lovely friendly staff as Leah,Alex,Joel, & Matt These are the only people who we got to speak to serving our food, but I am sure the chefs, & the rest of the staff are just as nice as you can tell they are a happy team .Thank you for making our time there so memorable Pam France

Called in tonight as seen family pub and dogs welcome on their sign.....just our street. Well. Absolutely gobsmacked with the prices, cheep and cheerful. Brie, as discussed as in the cheese, absolute delight, what a barmaid! Signposted me to everything I was drinking and offers, could jot have asked more of her, saleswoman in the making! We will be back, with child and dog 😊 cannot recommend any higher

We frequently visit here. The food is nice enough, a little over priced for some things but fairly decent. We often return as it’s a spacious cafe, the food is generally nice. Whilst a little on the expensive side it’s cheaper than other garden centers. We visited yesterday, every single member of staff we encountered were grumpy and had quite a bad attitude. (I also over heard other tables mention this). I understand they were busy, it is Christmas (so to be expected) however there is zero need to be rude to customers who are being reasonable and decent! After all they keep the cafe afloat! We’ve notified the staff can be grumpy at times (it’s not the first time we’ve encountered this), hoping this improves though as overall it’s a lovely little place!
