As a frequent visitor to dewsbury I usually always go to the timepiece for breakfast, dinner etc. However on this occasion on two attempts to go in, first one a homeless looking man came out as I was about to go in so I changed my mind and the second time I opened the front door to see about 4 homeless guys in the pub so I closed the door and left.

Wetherspoons moved out mid-February and the new owners came in a few days later and I think it's the only pub I've ever been in that when it's changed hands the new owners have done virtually nothing to it (at least on the public side of things) - no re-paint or walls washed,no carpet change (or even cleaned), no refurb of seating - yup, basically nothing. They've rearranged the seating a bit, installed a pool table and a (spit, chuck, vomit) juke box but very, very sadly have not refurbished the toilets - which always were, and still are, pretty grim. The food menu has shrunk a little from the Wetherspoons one but is basic pub grub (haven't eaten there yet) and the drink prices are still very reasonable, although there's a very limited number of hand pulled beers available at the moment. It's OK but why some pubs can't keep a good, clean, well stocked Gents toilet I'm at a loss to know!

Pretty poor tbh. No card payments. No soap in toilet despite the toilet check board being signed. Dirty. Loud music. A positive was the friendly staff but they are misplaced. This place won’t last long.

Popped into here for a quick meal and hated the experience. I do like Wetherspoons as a chain, but this one was horrible. Having people shouting if anyone had any wizz, or that they have taken wizz hardly made it a great experience, or people spitting on the floor. The clientele were beyond rough. Ordered the Double Chicken BBQ Burger, but the chicken was totally overdone and as tough as old boots. Left most of it. Couldn't get out of there quick enough and will never be returning.

Enjoyed a good visit here, Staff were very friendly and efficient. The bar was busy with a good atmosphere. Tables were clean. Could do with a bit of attention to the toilets though. 3 cubicles, one with no paper dispenser and one with an empty dispenser. Nice seating area upstairs. Good visit, worth another look, only a short walk from the station

Standard British breakfast.one of several options plus other choices on a reasonably broad menu. Food was ok and economical. Coffee was good and limitless! The place was well looked after though had clearly been done some time ago - hardly contemporary. Clearly has regulars. So all in all not at all bad.

We have visited here a few times and the food is generally ok. This time the food was fine but the waitress noticed some people she knew on the next table, put our food on the table without saying a word but talking to the next table. Didn't even ask who had ordered what. Stood and talked to the next table for a while so obviously not working. No customer service at all from her

This pub is a bit of a dive. The clientele are a bit rough round the edges (putting it lightly). The food is nothing special and tastes like it's been microwaved, but it tends to be like this at most Wetherspoons these days. The staff are not very friendly towards people who are not known to them. It's a bit "this is a local pub, for local people". The toilets are often dirty and the tables never seem to be cleared or cleaned either One positive point, i popped in yesterday for a coffee and was surprised to find that it was only 95p with free refills.

I've been in this pub numerous times with fairly reasonable experiences on most occasions. It's a pretty typical Wetherspoons pub although the selection of hand pulled beers can vary at times - there always seems to be a beer or two 'available soon' but the ones that are available are very reasonably priced. I've not had a bad experience with the food whenever I've eaten there but I've usually eaten outside the busier times. One thing that does grate with me though is the Gents toilets, like a few other Wetherspoons pubs I could mention, they never seem to be kept well, they are often dirty and/or in a state of poor repair.

Nightmare of a curry, just been to Dewsbury weatherspoons, they never have any korma curry, even at 6.00pm at night they never seem to have it. Had a chicken jalfrezi,. Terrible, they didn't have any samosas, so had an extra onion Brarji instead, they were both burnt, and still have the taste in my mouth, even having washed it down with the pint. This place is always hit and miss with the food, the other week we had a breakfast, and that was cold. I think they need management from above to come and have a look at this place, otherwise it probably end up going the same way all the places in Dewsbury seem to be going, and that is shut down!!!!! Hope when they read this it will improve, because Dewsbury needs something to stand out, but dought it will get any better. Don't bother with curry night here, it's the same every time, waste of £7 of my well earned money!!!!!

I've frequented this establishment since the very first day of it opening it's doors & i always bump into old friends & have made many more friends that I've met whilst being there over the years, the place is always clean & all the staff I've encountered over the years have always been friendly, polite, courteous & helpful. The food has always been spot on & well priced & likewise with the drinks. Unfortunately there ain't many drinking/eating establishments left now in Dewsbury so you can see why it's nearly always busy, but the atmosphere is always great & your always made to feel welcome. So if your ever in Dewsbury town centre I'd recommend calling in, be it for a coffee ☕a pint🍺or something to eat🍔🍟, I can guarantee you'll be glad you did😁👍

First visit to Dewsbury in a long time, and I just knew I could depend on the town centre Wetherspoons the Time Piece. It was the Wednesday Chicken deal and I went for the `whole chicken' meal which certainly did not disappoint. Loads of tasty chicken with well cooked chips- and a good pint of Ruddles thrown in for something slightly more than £6 . Can't beat the value!

We were visiting Dewsbury for somewhere to go as the weather was not too good. As we are unfamiliar with eateries in the area we opted for a Wetherspoons as you can usually guarantee that the food will be ok. We were not disappointed. I had my favourite ham egg and chips, although the ham was not quite up to its usual standard and a little fatty, and my husband had a wrap and chips. The only disappointment was I had asked for a coffee to warm me up and my dear husband returned with my usual lime and soda!! Given that the place was very busy as it was a Saturday we did not have to wait long for our food.

Having to wade through a thick fog of smoke (several people stood right in the doorway smoking) should have told us what type of place this was.

We visited here knowing the we like Wetherspoons menu. We went on a Sunday night, the pub itself was quiet so our food was served quickly. The toilets are up stairs but we're clean and cared for. The accessible toilet was locked (one of our party can not manage stairs well). When she asked at the bar if there was a key she was told they didn't have one it had been lost! Then the bar maid went and double checked and then asked the customers if any of them had one!

The place is set up as a library and being a wetherspoon it has a comfortable feeling and look.Great selection of food and drinks, not expensive at all and there are plenty sitting places (two floors and an outside "terrace").I recommend this place as a place to eat dinner, (fish chips are really really good), enjoy a drink in a typical "pub" atmosphere or have a quiet sit down and rest watching the outside through the window. There are usual habitués around but they tend to stick to themselves. I visit here regularly for lunch at the weekend. We always go upstairs away from the weekend pint-drinking crowd. I've had good burgers, steaks and chicken here. The chef on a Saturday cooks good food. Always a wide choice of drinks, guest ales etc. We love gin and they have a wide selection of some of the better commercial ones here - Brokers, Portabello etc. We came down here once for Mexican night, and people were sending their food back and leaving a lot. We steered away from Mexican and ordered burgers. They came lukewarm. They replaced the food quickly enough though. But we stick to Saturday's now.

Positives...nice atmosphere, friendly staff and local. Sometimes the food can be really nice for the price (special shout out to the £1.20 breakfasts...filling, yummy and can't go wrong) but other times it's pretty poor. Such a shame, as when it's good, it's fantastic value. The burritos are an excellent addition, every time I've had one its been spot on and great portions. Hence why we keep going back. (Plus, the amount of places to actually sit and eat in Dewsbury is appalling.)Drinks are good value, although don't order the Pimms - twice I've ordered it and just came with a couple of oranges plonked in lol. Where's the fruit and cucumber?! It;s a British institution that stuff! However, The £1.49 iced caramel frappes are amazing - just like Starbucks but half the price, woo!All in all - it's alright. Has lunch and a pint here yesterday, first time there, was about as typical a 'spoons as you would expect to find. I had the Chicken Tika plus two sides of onion rings and cheesy garlic bread. I didn't think this was too much, but the waitress brought two sets of knives and forks with it, which may have been the classiest stealth insult ever, since table 42 was barely big enough for one person. Had a dodgy stool when I sat on it which creaked like a ship under sail, but I swapped it for a chair which was fine. I realised afterwards I should have raised that, so if any staff read this, the noise when you're downstairs in the cellar that sounds like someone just ripped the roof off is a stool. Nice selection of beers on as is typical for a Weatherspoons. Service behind the bar was fine and fast despite it being Saturday lunch. Basically, if you like a 'spoons this one seemed the same as most of 'em, reliable known food!

Called into the Time Piece on Wednesday 14th January ,Found a table the table was littered with uncollected plates and glasses with having not much space to sit anywhere else and preferring to sit in that area I went to the bar and ordered the Drinks and Food thinking that the table would be cleared with someone sitting there. I found the bar staff to be .UN polite uninterested in doing the job and a flippant manner. When the meal was brought only one plate was collected from the table while the staff went to chat in the side room with other staff.I moved the rest of the items left on the table to a near table being unable to enjoy my meal with the smell. The items were still on the table when leaving an hour later The bar was mostly left unattended while the staff lurked in the side room chatting .Will not be calling in again customer service of poor quality .

I visited here for a pint on a Saturday afternoon, and it was good. Good selection of real ales, a nice pint and a good atmosphere.

Family meal. More bar staff needed and some did appear somewhat stressed. I ordered the rack of ribs, they tasted lovely but were no where near hot enough. Good JD sauce. The corn on the cobs were inedible, boiled within in an inch! My husband enjoyed his beef burger, but overall, for the price of food, it’s nothing special. Most of the party were just ‘erm, it was okay’. Good price on a bottle of red wine and the food came out as we ordered, we they wanted us to pay at the bar due to party size. Main male staff member greeting as we walked in was friendly.

After a bracing walk around part of Digley Dam this was an ideal stop off to satisfy healthy appetites. It wasn't particularly busy so my friend and I were fortunate to select a table by the window to sample views of the surrounding countryside that the area is famous for. We both chose the regular Fish & Chips, good value at £12 though smaller portions are available at £9.50. My friend's Side Salad cost £4 which I thought expensive for what he received while a side order of Mushy Peas set him back £2. I thought the drinks were expensively priced, £2.90.for a pint of Fanta Orange but we'd visited for the Fish & Chips and these were delicious so it was definitely worth the effort. The menu is quite extensive so there are plenty of alternatives to satisfy most appetites and palates. A good experience.

We were so looking forward to our romantic valentine's evening. Sadly the previous reviewer has said most of it for us. Extortionately expensive, to be honest, for actually a less than mediocre meal which was not particularly enjoyable. It was obvious, from the occasional groans, the that something was very very wrong in the kitchen, even though front of house staff attemped to cover the cracks with gracious service. Also, yes it was far too cold. Have had lunch several times in this beautiful building, which have been very pleasant, although they really do need to sort out the heating problem.

We didn’t have much time so rather than go ti RMT Kitchen where our friends said parking is a nightmare, they suggested we hit Toby. We were seated and drink orders were taken and then nothing more happened so eventually I went over to a waitress and ordered the Ultimate Roast Dinner Sandwich for our son (just some carvery stuff in a roll or pud basically), and carvery for the two of us. We went to get it, meat was cold as well as most of the veg, and the sandwich never came. After about 20 minutes we asked for it and it had obviously been forgotten so she rushed off and got us an Ultimate Roast Beef Sandwich which is just some beef and gravy slapped on a roll. Honest misunderstanding so no big deal. We asked for a replacement, she took away the tray, manager showed to to ask about our issue, both said it would be sorted, again nothing for another 20 minutes, and we had to ask yet one more time to get a sandwich that was sloppy, but too hot to touch, and a bowl of cold gravy. Desert was fine, but the custard with the apple pie was again a tongue burner (nuked maybe?). When time to pay came, none of this had apparently discouraged the waitress from asking for a tip. She was lucky we were leaving that day and there to burn off no longer needed GBP so she got wholly underserved 6 quid for her efforts. Overall we lost more time waiting than it would have taken us as per our friends to find parking near RMT Kitchen, and the food was absolutely not worth it.
