We aimed to book at The Dusty prior to this weekend but at that point accommodation wasn't available as their upgrade work was still underway... but it was certainly worth the wait! Booking was very straightforward with staff extremely friendly and helpful in making and confirming the reservation. The room itself was fantastic - retaining the gorgeous original features of the original coaching inn interior (stone arch windows, original fireplace) but with a spacious high-end finish en-suite bathroom replete with large walk-in shower and heated mirror, and an extremely comfortable bed & bedding in the room itself which included fridge, hot drink facilities and air-con. The whole accommodation section has been finished to a high standard and can be accessed separately to the inn, allowing for entry even after closing. Breakfast was from the inn's wide brunch menu range, available from 9am on the morning we were there, and was really well prepared and presented, and was availsble at a discount for people who had stopped at the inn. The inn is comfortable, warm, welcoming and friendly and commendation must go to the owners and staff for this, as it really does make a difference. I would recommend wwithout hesitation and will definitely re-book when we need another stop-over in the area.

We often visit here for drinks and the quiz night on a Thursday, however 3pm on a Friday afternoon we popped in for a bite to eat. I had the steak and ale pie, my husband had the burger. Both meals were really generous in size and beautiful in taste! The pie was clearly home made, the pastry was light and the meat was really tender! The hand cut chips were amazing as were the fries that came with the burger. The burger was a monster and full of flavour! Would 100% come again! Overall a really enjoyable experience.

terrible experience, staff are miserable especially the dirty looking landlord, atmosphere dull with locals grumbling about being banned constantly or having their clothes checked and told to take certain garments off if it didn't suite the place, I saw some young lads get thrown out because they had a bag of unopened tinned beer which they were taking home with them. Its not a family place, and certainly not a community pub. not liked by locals at all!!!

This is by far the best Sunday roast dinner I have had out in a very long time, a real cut above the usual pub roast. I have been here twice in the last three weeks. Came back today because it was so fabulous the first time and I was just as impressed this time. Every bit of it was perfect. Great choice of meats, beautifully cooked and presented, massive Yorkshire pudding, loads of lovely veg (green beans, mange tout, cabbage, peas, roasted carrots and parsnips - all really fresh and not done to death). And really tasty gravy. All truly delicious. Good portion size too, and reasonably priced. Puddings great as well. There is a lovely atmosphere in there too and all staff were friendly, helpful and lovely. Absolutely cannot fault this place at all. Thank you, and will see you again soon.

We were travelling through the area and decided to call in for a pub lunch and some beers (around 1.15pm). On arrival, we went to be bar and asked to place an order. They said they were not taking food orders for next half hour (with no explanation) and couldn't serve us. Another member of staff said shall I remove the food menus and was rebuffed. Very strange atmosphere and can't sadly recommend.

This is a terrible place. We came here with a 6month old puppy who was rescued from a puppy farm that wasn't socialised. The puppy saw another dog and started barking, so I immediately stried to settle her. Within 2 mins I was told there were complaints and I was asked to leave after a customer told us to shut the dog up. This site said it was dog friendly and she only barked for 2 mins and I was settling her. Very upsetting as we had been driving for over an hour and we were looking for a dog friendly pub

Lovely comfortable seats to have a drink prior to eating. Very friendly bar staff and waitress. The food was very good and there was a good choice, though perhaps the choice of desserts is a bit limited. The only thing I would change ...get rid of the bar stools! The bar isn't that big and when customers are queueing to order food and drinks the people sitting at the bar are a hindrance and really can't be that comfortable as they are sitting in the middle of every conversation!

First time visitor to this pub, as I am not local.Walked in, nobody behind the bar, had to wait for 5 minutes before being served. Finally I was served by a young man, he was serving my husband , yet talking to all the people at the bar, not focusing on the customer in front of him. He was being slightly racist to put it mildly as well. Something I found somewhat surprising, given this was my first visit. First impressions not great.... It gets worse... I took my seat and to my amazement, one of what I thought was the locals laughing, turns out to be the Manager. A guy with a Scottish accent ( Scottish people are lovely, warm and friendly, not here). I thought to myself and said to my partner, I have lived on this planet for over 60 years and never come across a pub/ eating place like this, we were planning to have a bite to eat needless to say, we finished our drinks and went elsewhere. We moved to the next village and had a great afternoon and meal. When your taken through to dining room its drab in comparison to the lounge area. Service ok forgot part of our meal but were very apologetic but we had finished when our sides arrived unfortunately. First up: Free parking, always a plus. Secondly, cosy little rooms and modern decor. The wall art is striking in a Sia (not the elusive singer) does art kind of way rather than Rose Uniacke. That's not meant to sound disparaging as I really like the Dusty Miller. I just love Geronimo Inns where they have something like a Mona Lisa with a big fish swimming by; a little quirky. The food was really tasty and good value. There was a good choice of beers so much to my disappointment, my Dad opted for John Smith's. Apparently, it was the weakest and as he says that as he gets older, he can't manage strong ones in the daytime. The toilets were clean which meant I did not come away with any squalid memories. The servers were friendly even though the sporting fixture was drawing their attention. What's not to love about a pub near a place called Friendly?

Food was very tasty but now I understand what Marcus, Monica and Greg mean when they say dishes lack refinement. Portions were generous - a bit overfacing. The starters were very good and well presented but the mains were too hearty really. There was a fairly good choice but salmon featured heavily, two dishes on the menu and one on the specials board. Desserts were good but not outstanding. The main problem of the evening was lack of staff. One man was running the bar in the pub (Dust y Miller) and doing waiter service in the restaurant (Coiners). Not sure I am very keen to return very soon which is a shame. The Christmas decorations were very good though!!

I work most Sundays so a proper Sunday roast dinner is something we dream about - Wednesday roast doesn't have the same magic..... and so on a weekend break in Hebden Bridge we made for The Dusty Miller, much recommended in the guest book in our cottage. It is very popular and we were unable to eat in the dining-room, made comfortable in the bar area instead. Quite tasteful decor, a bit like a good hotel. Real ales on tap plus usual lager and what Morse used to call "the work of the Prince of Darkness", light beers. We had a delicious carvery, two meats plus 8 veg to chose from, good gravy and Yorkshires the size of beach balls. The stuff that dreams are made of. Other dishes include steak & guinness pie, spinach & feta wellington, seabass etc. and some interesting starters too.Well worth a visit if you're in this area, especially if you're a walker and need to replace some calories!

After the umpteenth attempt to have a Sunday Carvery over the last couple of year,we tried again tonight after we were told by a good friend of mine she had heard that things had 'improved'. we got there nice and early as past experiences taught us that if you got there after 5.30 pm you were too late. We arrived at 4.45, ordered our drinks and was taken to our table.. thought we were in there. buzzin.!! oh nooooo,...A waiter came and told us if we want the Carvery then there's a table of 4 over there, a table of 2 over there and another table to 'go up' before us and as they aint bringing any more veg out then we may want to take a look t see if there's owt left before we decide if we want anything..!!!!!!! I Cannot tell you how disappointed and angry I was,.. I thought it was a Carvery.. go up when your ready.. can you imagine a member of staff from Toby Carvery popping over to you and saying you cant ' go up' yet because there's 4 tables before you.... its a Carvery you Clowns.. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.. safe to say we wont be attempting again, enough is enough which is such a shame as we really like to support local businesses. Anyway whilst we sat there seething. the table next to us complained it was dry and too salty.. Ha!!

Went here for a meal with 3 friends. We were shown to our table and ordered our meals. I ordered haddock and chips and peas (like bullets!), but for £9.00 I thought you can't really complain, so for dessert I had lemon heaven - this was the most stale sponge cake with a layer of lemon curd with what tasted like 2 day old meringue on top. I must say this was the worst dessert I have ever had in my life and I paid for the displeasure of eating it. One of my friends had the mushroom risotto which was so awful she left 3/4 of it.The whole way through eating our meal all you could hear was the chef and staff laughing in the kitchen (not very professional!). There was only one other table eating which I guess should have told us something - our booking was for 7pm not 8.30pm!When I got home I had to have another shower as I smelled of cooking fat which had even seeped into my hair - urgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - not a pleasant evening at all.We will NOT be returning or recommending.

After having driven from Cambridgeshire, we arrived and had lunch then checked in. We had a simple sandwich and ciabatta, sadly the salad was limp and the ciabatta was so well cooked it crumbled and was hard on the mouth. Not a big issue though. Staff were friendly and the modernised interior was pleasant and comfortable. This is an old pub that has been modernised, retained it's charm and is now comfortable and friendly. We booked into one of the bedrooms here, I believe there are 5 or maybe 6. Our room was at the back of the restaurant. It had a fab stone window, the original fireplace, lovely cream furniture and a smart en-suite shower-room. The linen was crisp white and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. A tea tray was well stocked and they even provided a small selection of toiletries. The shower was large and powerful, a real treat! Breakfast int he morning was great, we did not try the full cooked as we had eaten a lot the previous night, but the coffee was good, toast was a lovely colour bloomer loaf and the few other people eating were commenting on how nice the food was.My only comment would be to request the management to move the smoking area away from the main entrance door. This is a real bugbear of mine, a lovely stone entrance surrounded by tables of full ashtrays. But my main comment is that the restaurant entrance and smoking area is directly below Room 5, and at first we thought our room smelled of smoke but when we shut the window, it went away a bit. Otherwise, a lovely B&B to stay in, friendly staff and a lovely restaurant!

We enjoyed an average meal at The Dusty Miller & Coiners. It was mid-week and there was only us and a couple at another table so we were asked to sit in the bar rather than the restaurant. Seems a shame the place was so quiet as it has clearly undergone a massive refurbishment. The poor lady serving us was on her own and had to manage both the bar and waiting at tables. They had an extensive menu and specials board of typical pub grub bakes and grill style food. My husband had ribs to start with, and I had garlic mushrooms with bacon. Huge portions, too much for starters and we were a bit over-faced. My husband had gammon with all the trimmings and I had scampi and fries. I liked the way the fries were served in mini deep-fat fryer style baskets. There was no wine menu available. The choice of whites was just Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio or Trebianno. I don't think I've ever been to a pub restaurant with so few wines on offer so that was disappointing. In summing up, it was homely food and very affordable; ideal if you fancy a night off from cooking the tea but not somewhere I would go for a special meal.

We went last Thursday which was steak night, excellent meal and a good price, would definitely visit again when next in area, we also found the trendy cutlery difficult to use.

The carvery meats were good quality and vegetables fresh. There was a fairly broad menu to choose from, but the carvery particularly appealed and proved a good choice. The only problem we found was that the trendy cutlery didn't fit very well in our old, gnarled fingers, but the staff were happy to provide more conventional (old fashioned) knives and forks

There were 14 ladies in our party last Tuesday evening booked in for a meal. Service was a bit slow, but as there were so many of us and most having ordered different dishes, it didn't matter, as we were typical women....chatter, chatter and more chatter. The food was all served together, was hot, fresh and plentiful. It was delicious, in fact, everyone remarked on how good it was. The white chocolate roulade was lovely and one portion was enough for two people. I was out again on Friday eating in Brighouse. The food could not compare at all and was far more expensive! I can thoroughly recommend The Dusty Miller for a meal and will be returning soon.

We went last night, the place when we went wasnt busy at all. We waited 30 mins for our starter, which was the steak nachos to share, i have to say it was lovely and a good sized portion. Our main course was the lamb noisettes and fish which we didnt have to wait long for at all. I had got half way through my main course before realising that my veg hadnt been brought, and the waiter hadnt realised by the looks too until i asked. Wasnt overly impressed by this i have to say. I will however recommend the food 100% it was lovely, well presented (when it eventually all arrived) and the portions were of a really good size. The venue is lovely and i would like to go here again but am a little put off by the service. I am afraid to say because of the service i am giving this a middle of the road rating which really by the quality of the food it should be a five star rating all day long. Sorry folks.

Had a lovely main course with lots of choices on the menu. We opted not to have a starter after seeing another table receiving theirs, they were huge!! However we wished we'd had the starter rather than the sweet we shared. The sweets were generally average frozen type gateaux Well worth a visit

Our first visit to this pub/restaurant prompted us to ask why we hadn't visited before. It is comfortable, welcoming, and unusually the lunchtime sandwiches were good. You can order 'proper' chips or fries and the pulled pork was delicious. We'll be going back for a meal in the restaurant.

This delightful pub came highly recommended by my friend for its lovely food and she wasn't wrong! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel really welcomed by the owner at the bar. We opted ( 5 of us ) for the main menu. The service was prompt and very slick. The wine list was good and reasonably priced. Between us we enjoyed steaks, scampi, fish and burgers and all were lovely. The atmosphere was busy with locals chatting and relaxing. We left very happy and would certainly return.

Have just moved to the village, and had a welcome break from unpacking with an evening meal, we then promptly followed up with the Sunday carvery. There was a good veggie option for a friend that joined us on Sunday and the Yorkshire puddings are enormous and very tasty. I would recommend It,

17 Ladies booked for a networking event; teas & coffees on arrival; everything to make us feel welcome. The lunch was superb. We had a choice of scampi served with chips, salad and tartare dressing, Goats cheese and red onion tart with chips and salad and ham salad. Spoilt for choice; all generous servings and extremely tasty food!!This is one of my favourite venues; extremely comfy and inviting; excellent pub food. I love the fact that they have games like chess, draughts, jenga and dominoes out. bring back old fashioned pub games and less telly!!If it was my local I would be delighted to go more often; sadly it's not but I love going when I can

I chose the Dusty Miller for a meal for 2, because it had a good vegetarian choice when I previewed the menu. So, I was a little disappointed when they did not have my first choice of aubergine parmigiana. However, I had pepperpot mushroom starter - these were delicious, the sauce was very peppery and there was lots of it. My partner had prawn cocktail, again this was a generous portion. For my main I had a vegetarian tower burger. This was a huge bun, burger with a variety of veg inside, lots of chips, salad and onion rings. It was very tasty and I would recommend it. My partner had the fillet steak which he enjoyed.Service was ok, and the decor inside the restaurant was very nice.

A friend and I went to Dusty Miller for lunch today after visiting Mytholmroyd Antiques Fair. The pub has lovely cosy nooks with wood stoves. The main offering on a Sunday lunchtime is the carvery. My friend plumped for that at a very reasonable £6.95, and there was beef, pork and turkey and a fabulous selection of veg - mash, roasties, carrot & swede mash, cabbage, red cabbage, green beans, cauliflower cheese - the list goes on. I don't eat meat, so had to choose from the 'specials' board. I chose the brie and mushroom wellington at £8.95. That's £2 more than the carvery option. I asked if I could have it with the selection of veg from the carvery, rather than the chips and salad (garnish) it came with. And was told 'No'. Even though I was paying more than the carvery price, and it would have been instead of the chips and (undressed) salad. Mistake, I think, Dusty Miller.

We received a warm welcome and the pub atmosphere was very good. Our waitress - Lynn was very attentive and a credit to the establishment. The food was excellent but one word of warning, the portions are large so choose carefully as we had to apologise, reluctantly for not being able to finish our main course. Either a quick beer or a sit down meal I would recommend this place.

Had a great experience, friendly staff. Good food, what more could you ask? I had roast turkey dinner and it was delicious, hot and thoroughly enjoyable

Arrived at 12:45. Told no soup left so the soup is obviously not made daily. I’m sure nobody is eating soup for breakfast so working on the assumption that lunch starts around 12, they’re either not making enough or they’re using leftovers. Ridiculously slow service. Waited 45 minutes for 2 overpriced sandwiches. Slice of cake £3.75, wafer thin. Staff surly and unwelcoming. Not a good place to eat at all.

Visited today for tea and cake. Very disappointed, paid£16+ for two teas and two pieces of supposedly sticky ginger cake. Cake was awful very dry and hard. Shame as the garden centre itself was very nice.

After going here for over 25 years never again. Poor customer service, prioritise the online orders and ignore face to face customers. 4 staff in the shop and was ignored by all bar 1. The service has been steadily going down hill and tonight was the last straw. Such a shame as I like to support small local businesses who need the support.
