We have had the odd breakfast roll and tea here and sat outside so this was our first time inside ,I needed to use the toilet upstairs and the state of them carpets upstairs were a disgrace when was the last time they saw a Hoover should have realized when given the menu because that too was dirty. It’s not hard you pick up damp cloth you clean. The full breakfast was two horrible sausages A few very finely sliced mushrooms quarter of a tomato cut in two beans and bacon were just warm .the egg was ok .and limp toast. Shocking dirty place .we only managed to eat half of it yes it’s cheap good it’s not .

I have given this review on this mornings experience only of breakfast Yesterday I had a lovely jkt potato with chili filling ! My friend had a toasties, we both had drinks, 15 mins tops ! Lovely friendly service too !! This morning it took 30 min to serve me the following Warmed up bacon, warmed up sausage, an egg about 8 slices of a mushroom and tomato that looked half eaten? 2 slices of bread, and 1 soggy hash brown cooked on a hot plate?? It went back he returned with 2 more ? looked exactly the same, we don't deep fry them he said, I use hot plate ? Why you serve chips ? NB the unshaved scruffy look, doesn't bode well in catering, if I'd have sent a breakfast out presented like that, looking like that, I'd have been sacked !!!!

So what if it's not a name brand? They do decent food, give you a great price for it, and will serve it piping hot. All within 10-15 minutes, and they always decorate for the holidays!

Although when we arrived they had clearly been run off their feet due to the piece hall Xmas market and it being rememberance Sunday the waitress still had a smile for us and got us a table. Yes the place was a mess and tables uncleared but the town was bonkers crazy today. We didn't wait to long to be served and the food although basic was tasty, hot and served in decent time.

Prior to covid this was one of the if not the best cafes in Halifax. However, today on my visit it’s been very poor. Staff were about 14/15 and with a very poor customer service manor. I ordered a latte, flat white, and toasted current tea cake. I cannot flat the grass cake but the staff member asked me what a flat white was only to be brought a black coffee and the latte was salty. It will be a while before my return

I had seen the review about the jacket potato from another reviewer and I was rather intrigued - how wrong can anyone get a jacket potato. I ordered one with cheese. Service was quick, the meal was pretty cheap and the potato was surprisingly very nice and I couldn’t really fault it. Now, I do wonder if the guy who has rated a potato so poorly actually complained to the staff there because I asked if my table could be cleaned down (it wasn’t dirty in the first place) just to see if they were going to be ‘funny’ with me and a lad came and cleaned the table within a couple of minutes of me asking; so I doubt that the staff wouldn’t amend his order. It appears to be one of those cafés with no airs and graces where people who are salt of the earth seem to frequent. Almost everyone through the door was a known customer and although I don’t spend much time in Halifax I might pop back in again. People may look at my review and be surprised that I gave 5 stars and I understand that in the grant scheme it isn’t a five star establishment however in relative terms I couldn’t fault my visit - I didn’t have dirty cutlery, the meal was cheap, the staff were faultless, the tables were relatively clean with the turn over and my meal was nice. Now, I do see that people have written some negative reviews which I can’t comment on as I didn’t have the same meal but my meal was fine and I have had far worse jackets from large successful chains.

Staff were friendly but hopeless. We were the first customers and everything seemed to be rushed. Breakfast was horrible, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes were not cooked whereas the beans looked like they had been cooked for far to long and turned to mush. The lattes where not very good either, were very watery and sickly. My dad was sick for the remainder of the day.

Worst jacket potato I've had in a long time - dry, extremely hard skin, asked for the salt told they would put extra in - they didn't, on the plus side the coffee was good but to make the statement "Best jacket potatoes in town" is stretching it a bit.

Ordered the Full English breakfast, safe to say that everything except the tea was awful. Bacon was extremely salty, sausage didn't taste like sausage (more like mince), eggs over fried, beans looked tried out or old (reheated multiple times?), and worst part was that mushrooms were not fully fried. One side was fried and other was still White and dry (RAW) which is the last thing I want when eating a full English when I'm 8 months pregnant. I also got the THICK (ERM NOT EVEN CLOSE) chocolate millshake which geniunly tasted like Yazoo chocolate milk poured in a plastic cup and served..I'm extremely dissapointed to say the least.

Naz and his wonderful chef Aaron create a sensational low-price friendly dining experience. Having a young child we found it highly accessible with a door leading to the market at the back and one off the Main Street. The steak baguette is sensational in both taste and price. Aaron does a delicious homemade mushroom soup that really set the meal up nicely. Nothing is too much trouble for Naz and his team and we will definitely be visiting again soon.

After parking in central Halifax to get some cash this cafe seemed the only one conveniently located for a snack. We sat at the back but there were tables upstairs also; a range of food was on offer including coffee and sandwiches, hot panini and jacket potatoes. Service was slow and erratic and the place was not very tidy. We settled toasted sandwiches as a takeaway at quite reasonable prices – but would need renovation and makeover before revisiting.

Arrived for a ham salad sandwich for lunch to takeaway. It was busy and the staff were a little bit stressed talking badly of customers outside who had changed their order. The cafe didn't take card, so I went for cash and came back. The staff member took my order and then another member of staff asked if I was being served. It seemed very disorganised as I was then asked by another member of staff to repeat my order. The food was nice, however the cafe would value the staff being aware of their own and others responsibilities. Training and organisation required.

On a break from working nearby in central Halifax we happened to pop in here for lunch. It’s a basic town centre cafe, no pretentiousness at all. Basic menu - we had a hot panini and an ordinary toastie. Nothing special and nothing to complain about food-wise. Coffees were really nice but the cutlery was far from clean. Big surprise was that they do not accept cards of any sort - strictly cash only - and yes its 2017 even in Halifax!

Arrived at 12:45. Told no soup left so the soup is obviously not made daily. I’m sure nobody is eating soup for breakfast so working on the assumption that lunch starts around 12, they’re either not making enough or they’re using leftovers. Ridiculously slow service. Waited 45 minutes for 2 overpriced sandwiches. Slice of cake £3.75, wafer thin. Staff surly and unwelcoming. Not a good place to eat at all.

Visited today for tea and cake. Very disappointed, paid£16+ for two teas and two pieces of supposedly sticky ginger cake. Cake was awful very dry and hard. Shame as the garden centre itself was very nice.
