Nice location. Food was not great (served only slightly warm. Not cheap either for a supposedly family venue ?

I've been going down to Shibden park for a number of years and calling in for coffee at the cafe and today a assistant came to talk to the lady I was with not to me he wasn't man enough to talk to me direct . He stated to the lady who was with me that our dogs were too noisy and stated that we dominated the sofa that was there for any body to sit on basically said we dominated the sofas if there were no people sat there we like comfort so we chose to sit there. And today we were accused of loitering for the sofa to come vacant but we're using the toilet toilet before we walked round the park the assistant called us stalkers So now I don't think the cafe or that particular person doesn't like dogs We found this male assistant very offensive

Perfectly nice people and a great location but that’s what they are trading on. The food I had was a disgrace. £7 for a toasted sandwich made with supermarket white sliced bread that tasted like cardboard. A few Doritos thrown on the plate but no garnish. Next time we want to enjoy the park we will bring a picnic.

Good food freshly prepared great value for money

Been a few times but this time very poor, bland food and staff who should maybe concentrate on their job instead of laughing at customers. Especially when its busy on a sunny day.

Called in for lunch a Christmas 🎄 turkey sandwich 🥪 with all the trimmings, and it was yummy 😋

Once again the member of staff didn't listen to the order, my partner ordered, two white toast with two fried eggs and two sausages twice, explaining that meant two plates with the same on both plates, only one plate of food arrived. When we asked where the second plate was, my goodness what a performance of checking the till receipt, then two assistants coming to tell us, as we had only paid £13 we should have realised that wasn't enough for what we had ordered, NO we are the customers and trust the assistant to be able to listen and do her job properly, we always have to ask for extra hot, and strong coffee for our latte otherwise it comes like lukewarm milk. Our last visit I wanted brown toast with eggs and sausage my partner white toast with scrambled eggs, guess what scrambled eggs came on the brown toast. I am afraid that we will not be visiting again. As I used to be a Catering Manager and a Mystery Shopper I find the situation very annoying and disappointing.

The order that came out to us was incorrect however they apologised and said our food would be 5 mins they then came and apologised for the delay again. They were very helpful. It is very noisy in the cafe but there was plenty of seating both inside and out. Will definitely visit again.

We had an excellent Birthday full English breakfast for my Husband's Birthday, everything was spot on, not greasy at all. Great coffee and the staff were very friendly too. It was clean and well organised. We went for a lovely walk afterwards, a great spot and we'd definitely return if we visit the area again in the future.

Visited the park and cafe this afternoon. Ordered 2 x bacon & cheese panini’s & a portion of chips for my friend and I. We was really disappointed. The food was tasteless & hardly no cheese in the sandwich. The chips had a funny taste to them as well. Cost us £22 in total and definitely not worth the money.

Lovely setting, in the park before or after you visit, The main attraction, it was a wonderful day, sitting outside enjoying the sun and having some lunch and a coffee. Really enjoyable.

The markings due to covid on the floor are like a puzzle, no idea where to stand, the food is over priced and the assistant didnt bother to tell me to wait inside the builing to collect my food she gave me a number, so waited ages out on a picnic bench then came back in to be told they shout them out inside, really unorganized.

I decided to leave a review on the cafe in Shibden Park, which I don't normally do because I was disgusted when I read some of the critical reviews left. I went here in Sept, Oct and Nov. Twice with my grandsons and once with my partner. The food was lovely, queues were long because of the current rules to keep us all safe. But staff are very friendly and they have a very difficult job to do during this whole covid thing. The cafe was very clean and staff were attempting to accommodate all customers.But, I'm really sad to read all the reviews left by people whinging and moaning; criticising customer service or covid safety. The only people I saw disregarding the rules around covid were customers. Failing to wear masks, failing to follow the in-cafe arrows and or distancing. I even saw some guy having a go at a young staff member because she asked about wearing a mask. It's hard enough for them as things stand, and they have to cope with parents not controlling their kids, which I also saw; customers not social distancing and people congregating outside the main doors. Maybe you should all cut them some slack. Where are you going to get your coffee when they've had to shut due to whinging reviews and covid. Start being supportive, because things are bad for EVERYONE at the moment. Don't whinge, show some respect and understanding. Get behind local businesses because you never know who will or will not survive the covid lockdowns.

Friendly staff and a good menu. Reasonably priced food but £3.10 for a cappuccino knocked me on my arse! Social distancing measures in place.

I use the cafe quite regular and generally it's ok but I can't understand why they take all the table and chairs in an hour before it closes then lock the doors half hour before it's suppose to close. The park is really busy and lots of people are wondering why they can't get in at 3.30 when it's not suppose to close until 4.00 which is too early anyway. The staff are obviously keen to get home but abit too keen.

Always feel disappointed after visiting here and not sure why, just seems a shame that somewhere in such a nice location always seems so disorganised. The only staff member wearing a mask or any PPE was the las making the coffee, there was no screen at the counter either and lots of confusing arrows taped to the floor which no one could fathom out. Scone and coffee was tasty but overall visit disappointing.

This is a lovely place sadly the staff in the cafe have no clue about hygiene none of the staff was wearing gloves handling cups the passing them to customers I think in this current climate they would have at least used their braincells and had some method of control for contamination

I was told off for bringing my 2 small dogs into the cafe as it wasn’t wet or cold enough.(7c on the day in January. ) The waitress was very unwelcoming and said we could stay as we were only having a drink but only because I pointed out to her that there was another dog there with a couple who were eating a meal. The same waitress although she had the time to complain that I had brought my dogs inside couldn’t be bothered to clear the dirty dishes from the table which the previous customers had left. If the dogs were not allowed inside for hygiene reasons then why leave tables dirty?

Nice to warm up after a walk round Shibden

It's just great. Coffee cakes meals all delicious. We love to go at least once a week. If it's cold or wet and not too full we can eat inside with our 2 small dogs. Magical view all year round.

We have just returned from Coffee Culture at Shibden, having had a lovely Christmas lunch. My husband had 3 courses and really enjoyed everything, he especially mentioned the Mushroom Wellington and said the red wine sauce was delicious. I had the Roast Turkey and it was super. We go for breakfast regularly but had the lunch with it being the build up for Christmas. I would definitely recommend the lunch and now looking forward to having the Festive afternoon tea in a couple of weeks. Keep up the good work all you hard working staff, it is much appreciated.

Beautiful building and incredible historical setting but there's something just missing here. It seems to get tattier as time goes by, and was only built about 10 years ago. There's not a lot of love or atmosphere, and you're greeted with an artificial Christmas Tree at the door. Disappointing as it's a park and woodland setting! You can't get a cooked breakfast after 11.30am, you can't get something substantial after 3pm, I just went for a coffee in the end; it was OK. If they got it right, and the quality of the cafe environment and service matched the prices they are charging, you could sit here for the afternoon and chill. Such a shame but I'll try again in the future.

When you search this cafe on Google it informs you it is open until 4pm, which it is but it stops serving food at 3pm. When we arrived at 3.05pm we were told we could just have cake, we found this disappointing and asked that the update their information to show this as we had been sent down by Shibden Hall staff. We sat down with scones and drinks the gentleman making the coffees came over with his phone to show us where it showed the serving times on their website, it was strange and intimidating. When we were leaving there was a new lady behind the counter so I asked for a number to complain about his behaviour. She gave me one and told me who to ask for and he started shouting across the cafe to my sister that we were rude. It would have been funny if it wasn't so strange. This is a tourist attraction and we were made it feel so unwelcome by that gentleman, unfortunately they have a monopoly. It is a shame as the Christmas Fair was on, the land train was running, it should have been a pleasant day and they could have taken advantage of this and opened later.

Visited Shibden Hall yesterday on an impromptu visit and went to this cafe afterwards for refreshments. Disappointed on entry to see a small sign by the till saying they would serve no more hot drinks after 3:45pm, and would close at 4pm. It was just after 3:45pm and I asked politely if it was too late for a hot drink. I was served with coffee, for which I was very grateful. However, as soon as I had paid the server, she shouted very loudly “Right, we are definitely closed now”. Whilst I was drinking my coffee several people wandered in, to be told the cafe was closed. I overheard one customer being persistent and asking for an ice cream, who was served, yet other people were turned away. There was a coach in the car park with a party of older women and several of those attempted to buy drinks and were turned away. I saw no signage on the door stating the opening hours, just the small board by the till. There was no attempt by staff to communicate with prospective customers walking through the door until they attempted to order at the counter. I appreciate that staff work set hours and footfall may be unpredictable, but could signage be clearer to avoid embarrassment and disappointment? In these austere times it seems odd to be turning away multiple customers.

Arrogant manager I wouldn't recommend, I was made to feel very unwelcome, i was told one thing by a waitress and another by the manager and boy did she have an attitude, won't be going there again

Modern cafe set in the grounds of Shibden Hall and Park.. Had tea and cake there on a very sunny Saturday pm with friends. Gets busy and there were queues at lunch time but bear in mind it was a heritage weekend and the weather was so good. What a beautiful park! and the Hall is wonderful .

Big shout out to all the staff. We visit almost every Saturday, my daughter is special needs and cannot be left alone. No problem for coffee culture, staff are always accommodating and take our order from the table. Thank you so much 😊

Lovely place for a drink and a snack.

Does everything you would expect a good cafe to do. The Yorkshire pudding wraps were delicious and not terribly priced. We did get attacked by wasps outside, but that is to be expected on a typical British summer day. Nice views but it was very busy at lunchtime during the summer holidays.

I use this cafe regularly and find it good most of the time.I totally agree with the cafe owner ( previous review ) about kicking someone off the outside terrace for eating their own food wish more cafes would take a tough stance to this.If it's busy you expect to wait can't people find anything else to moan about.Kids menus is good and reasonable priced.Only gripe I have is the latte I always get is half milk half froth so it works out expensive for half a cup of coffee, plus the outside tables need cleaning when cleared.On the whole good !

We stopped here for lunch before walking around the park and visiting the hall. There was quite a long queue in the cafe. Good selection of food which appears to be freshly prepared. Good value for money. Staff very friendly. Dog friendly can sit outside in good weather? They do allow dogs inside in cold or bad weather.

If you have young children take a picnic for them as you won't get any food here. Tried to get some sandwiches today and they said it would take up to an hour to make sandwiches.....with hungry children to feed an hour is ridiculous.

DISGUSTING ! - Took 2 babies in here today. Witnessed a young man using a very dirty dish cloth to wipe the baby chairs ! Then went to wipe a dirty table with the same dish cloth ! It is obvious this cloth had been used probably all day long for the tables. You have no idea how germs are transmitted, so disgusting you can't even look after baby chairs in a professional manner. If that isn't bad enough we had to put up with 2 large dogs at a table next to us, these were big lurcher dogs eating & licking off the floor, they were not guide dogs. WHAT ARE DOGS DOING IN A CAFE WHERE CHILDREN & BABIES ARE ??? You say on your website you have a 5 star hygiene rating - This is not the case in my opinion, you seem to have no idea about hygiene. What if the dogs had bit a child & what if a baby contracted a bug from your high chairs & dirty dish cloths ? Not a safe place for children or babies - Your Own Fault You Got This Bad Review !

Don't always have correct ice cream and cones are often broken. It's also quite expensive, but they do sell a fair variety of things and it is very handy.

We visited today and were standing in the queue to purchase hot drinks and hot food for adults. We also brought a picnic as we had 4 children with us. We sat outside on the veranda on a picnic bench. As two of us were queuing the rest were told they could not sit on the veranda and eat their own food - to which we replied that this was for the children and two were queuing to purchase food and drinks. We were still told to move even though most tables were empty and we were paying customers. Disgusting customer service. Will definitely spread the word to people with families not to go to this cafe

visited cafe whilst visiting shibden park ,breakfast always great ,good valve for money ,just over £7.00 for FULL english ,which breakfast including hot drink and toast ,all fresh and piping hot ,served at the table ,great venue ,dog friendly ,able to dine inside in the warm with our wee dog during the cold weather ,which is a bonus ( we usually sit outside in the warmer weather or when its busy ) friendly staff and clean venue ,dog bowls always available and dog chews for sale -30 pence each ! highly recommended !

Lovely cafe, with great drinks and food

Recently been during the week with my Mum for a walk around the park and some light lunch. Both times we had sandwiches which tasted freshly made and were food delicious, service was very quick and the staff were all really pleasant and friendly. The scones certainly tasted homemade and were very nice. I would definitely recommmed a visit.

Visited on Saturday afternoon. Grumpy staff and no indoor tables available. Drinks were fine. I'd come back to the park but give the cafe a miss.

Excellent place to be on a sunny day

Me and my sister went for a walk round the park at 9am after learning that Ogden wasn't opening till 10. We were so glad! We were both hungry so decided to order some breakfast; we were served by a lovely young man who couldn't do enough for us and was very welcoming. We sat outside with our dog whilst we ate. From ordering and paying for the food, it took around 15 minutes to be served to us, which I think is brilliant timing, just long enough to know that the food was fresh.

Took a friend for lunch. Very impressed. Reasonably priced, wholesome food. I'm a vegan, my friend is gluten-free. Not an issue at all. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. Great food. Thanks.

This cafe is set in Shibden Park, so we usually call in for a coffee or lunch after taking the dog for a walk. The food is great and the service is fast. Dogs are allowed on the decking outside.

We had a lovely 85th Birthday Celebration here in July The room decorated with pink balloons, pink serviettes, and table decorations, wonderful Afternoon Tea for 20 adults and 3 children with their party menu. Food outstanding, can definitely reccomend Coffee Culture in Shibden Park.

We called midweek , unfortunately the large decking area was being replaced so we couldn’t sit outside, although when completed this is a lovely area to sit overlooking the park . We had the daily pie special which was steak & although the pie was quite good very disappointed that it was served with hard over cooked frozen chips . On this occasion the service was good and the young lady who took our order was very pleasant

This is nice modern park cafe with a good amount of seating indoor and out. There offering is quite basic but they do a good cup of tea.

Veggie breakfast is good value for money. Good idea to ask for an extra shot in your coffee as it can be a little weak. Staff are very polite and helpful.

Service soooooooo slow! Lots of staff just wandering around doing not much. Took over 1/2 hr to get a cuppa. Always been the same. Never improves.Asked if more staff could serve on counter and was just given a stare. Shibden park is lovely. Cafe needs better management.

Very slow to place order, always a long queue. Food is not value for money, but tastes and looks good, We had the cheese omelette and some lattes. Always a busy place but today they had to deal with an incident involving glass so some of the staff were busy with this and tables weren't being kept clear, which was understandable. We will visit again.

Our party was 25 strong of mixed ages and we used a private room which was perfect for the occasion.Delicious assortment of sandwiches on good quality bread plus gorgeous cakes and their home made jam and cream scones. All served on pretty cake stands by friendly helpful staff. High catering standards and a cafe experience I can recommend to anyone. Well done.

A great cafe in Shibden Park, with an excellent selection of very reasonably priced food and drink.

We called in here for coffee and lunch after a beautiful stroll in the park. It was nothing but a disaster! The service was very slow with staff who didn't appear to know what was happening. I ordered a sandwich for a 1 year old (which i informed them of at the til) and asked for it to be plain. It then came out with Dorito style crisps! Totally unacceptable to think that a 1 year old child could eat these without them being a choking hazard. We used the baby change ...... looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months! It was filthy. Needless to say we won't be calling again any time soon

For unexplained reasons there is only one cash till at this busy park cafe. There were lots of staff wandering about, 1 on hot drinks and 1 on the till. As a result we queued for about 10 minutes just for hot drinks.

Called in as we were going past, what a lovely setting to sit and have tea and fresh cream scones, the staff were very friendly and polite, good service, lots going on, there was an ice cream stand which was very popular, fabulous for the children who were all having a very good time, definitely worth a return visit, plenty of seating both inside and out, despite in being quite late on in the day when we visited it was very clean
