Old school vibe but amazing fish and chips. Crispy but fluffy chips, firm and flaky fish with a Crispy batter. Will be coming back soon

I went with a guy I support today and the ladies behind the counter were amazing with him, really made him feel comfortable and welcome. I've been to this chip shop a lot and the food is always on point but this really made me realise that I should totally do a review for such a fantastic restaurant. Ladies you're amazing.

Food was lovely, all came really hot too and the fish portions are huge! Will definitely have order again

One of the best chip shops in town

Atmospheric, traditional fish and chip cafe/restaurant serving proper chips and high quality fish. Portions were plentiful and service was timely with a smile. Ella our waitress was welcoming and attentive. TartARE sauce 👌

we ordered 2 meal deals.fish,chips,peas,curry sauce,and 2 drinks..food arrived hot,was very enjoyable,was enough to feed 3/4 people..

I was working away in Halifax so I thought I would try the one and only chippy. Big mistake, chips stone cold with over cooked fish. I paid £10.85 meal deal so this included peas and a can of pop. P.s I went in bang on 12pm so no reason for cold hard chip.

called whilst in Halifax shopping . Both had haddock & chips with mushy peas.food was lovely and hot and pleasantly served by young waitress. will call again when in Halifax and can thoroughly recommend. Thank you Pearsons.

Rude girl who works there has prompted me to write a review. Her attitude, conduct and knowledge of the menu were non existent. Food inevitably arrived wrong. The place was empty in the restaurant which was a worrying sign. First time. Never again.

Amazing service, very friendly and patient with clients

Went with a group of students from out of the area. Ellie was so lovely and friendly, very helpful. The food was nice and fresh and everyone really enjoyed it. Thank you for being so welcoming and helpful would certainly come again.

Absolutely RUDE RUDE girl who was serving behind the counter. Her attitude was disgusting to the core. She needs sacking the way she speaks to people Was looking at the menu and she spoke to me and my friends like crap. Tuesday 28th May at around 12. Needs to learn basic manners before getting a customer service job.

Absolutely disgusting how a girl who works here spoken to a customer today when she had her children with her .. which made me not go in to order any food has the way spoke to the girl was absolutely no customer service skills at all.. shouldn’t have a menu if your not allowed time to LOOK!!! That’s where there’s a MENU!!! Also to clear the fish shop wasn’t packed either.. made me avoid getting any food and won’t be going here again …. her attitude wasn’t the best and was other customers in there also so heard how she spoke to the girl and her young children…

We didn’t go to the restaurant because my wife is recovering from major surgery. We had food delivered to our house. We have lived in Halifax for three and a half years and have tried many different fish and chip shops. The ones we got from Pearsons were a complete revelation! Absolutely first class! We will be ordering again soon!

Chips are good. Price is reasonable. Staff are friendly. Good location for taking your food to eat on one of the benches in the nearby Piece Hall. Alternatively, restaurant area upstairs is nice.

Absolutely a rip off. £34 for two portions of chips, drinks, with side of gravy, peas and a kids meal in the restaurant. Service was poor. Waited quite a while. Young lady serving got two of the three orders wrong. Couldn't be bothered to keep explaining as she clearly was struggling. Two tables were filthy on our arrival up stairs with remains of food from previous customers. The tables were still untouched when we left. What a place. Pure rip off up stairs and poor service. Prices are a joke If I could leave a score of zero I would

Been going there for quite some time and not sure when they changed owners. Currently ran by young sarcy chavs that have no idea of customer service. More interested in gossiping between themselves than serving customers. Quality of food was amazing before, not sure when this changed, probably with the owner. Shame to see a milestone in Halifax go down the pan. Overpriced for what it is now.

3/5 not the best but definitely not the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had, the portion size is brilliant but too greasy for myself and I’m not a fan of the curry sauce they use. Overall great value for money

It's nearly 50 years since I was last in Pearson's when my family had the business and then sold it to the Costa's. The restaurant has certainly expanded over the adjoining property. The fish and chips were very good, piping hot. Good service.

Great tasting fish and chips❤️I had peas and my mum had curry sauce. We all had the meal deal which turned out to be the perfect size. I didn't finish mine but it comes with fish and chips, tea or coffee and bread. It's great for only £9.99 in their lovely restaurant, which is upstairs.

Lovely fish and chips only sad part never got my can of pop that i ordered too. But the food was lovely

Restaurant Fish and chips was very nice, however needs place updating most of salt pots were too damp to work ,sugar pots the same,asked for brown sauce and did not have any! Otherwise worth a visit but not ig your in a wheelchair as you have to go upstairs for the restaurant and did not see any lifts

Fish and Chips has been a family tradition for many years. After our local chippy closed to Saturday trade we've been a bit lost. Imagine our delight at finding the best chippy in Halifax on Just Eat. This could be the answer to the continuance of our tradition. Delivered red hot, earler than advised and delicious as always. I am going to Pearsons Fish and Chips Restaurant on Friday 13th of October for my birthday dinner

The fish was rubbish, it was more batter than fish.

Not happy, always order from here, but never again, missed my fish off the order, rang shop, and was told management would ring. Yeh. And they didn't. What a surprise. Never again.

Did not receive any food, waited over an hour, still no food. Apparently the driver has said it’s been delivered yet it hasn’t! Definitely will not be ordering again!

Do not take the prices off the Web. Went in for something for £3.55. Ended paying £5.55. Definitely won't be going again. The man that was serving was not customer friendly.

Terrible, absolutely terrible. £7.20 for fish that definitely wasn't fresh, tough batter and dry chips. Cap it all off, ignorant young lady serving. Never again. If I could give zero stars I would. You'd think being the oldest Halifax chippy they'd have gotten it right by now.

Marvellous fish and chips the upstairs wasn't open but the owner let us dine there seeing as they were a few of us definitely recommend

Upstairs, there's loads and loads of seating for small groups or even large groups. The menu is extremely simple: you're there to get a big plate of fish and chips. The set plates are good deals, and the senior citizen deal is a great one, with tea/fish/chips/buttered bread all together. The service is GREAT. There's a lovely Italian lady who makes you feel like a long-lost friend. This the real deal: you get good, solid, traditional fish and chips in a comfortable place for a reasonable price served to you by someone who wants you to enjoy yourself.

I’d googled fish and chips nearby before arriving as was visiting Piece Hall and specifically wanted this food. Walked past it initially thinking it was just a takeaway but walking back past saw the restaurant sign. Felt like a cross between greasy spoon cafe and 90s style restaurant with decor, but plenty space and chose where we sat. Ordered the shoppers special which was reasonably priced and it arrived very quickly. Couldn’t fault it; fish and chips was perfect. Felt typically traditional. Would definitely return for more.

Usually I am met with lovely customer service at Pearsons fish and chips. But the young lady with braces has a horrible teenager attitude. Very brash and rude every time I've visited.

Usually pretty good good but called in today and got a fish butty at £5 80 and was given a fish half the size of the so called finger roll it was served in cheeky sods

Pearsons are fantastic but my food was cold due to been half an hour late through delivery guy not picking up.

I'm a coach driver been to Halifax lot's of time's went here first time for takeaway people waiting outside to get in. So thought yep got inside girls then saying 5mins for chips 10mins later sorry 3mins fish 10mins later 5mins for chips half hour after getting there got my food back to the coach OMG worth every minute waiting for the delicious food will tell my colleagues about this

This place is so much better to eat in as the fish and chips are straight from fryer on to your table. This service is available with the upper level restaurant. The fish and chips taste nice and plenty of condiments. Just go for the standard fish and chips. I tried the jumbo and at an extra cost of nearly £3 was given 10 slices of toast, 5 white and 5 brown. I was expecting a larger fish rather than a loaf of bread 😬😬.

Very good fishe & chips . Very cleaning restaurants. And staff very friendly

told my boyfriend who’s a muslim, that they don’t fry the sausage in the same oil as fish, however we later found out that they do infact and they know it’s haram. the chips were frozen, moldy and stunk, the staff was disgusting to me and when i asked for salt and vinegar told me i had to pay an extra 2.50 and told me that i’m not allowed to come back again after today.

Called in on Monday for sausage and chip's and I wasn't disappointed. The chip's we're amazing and the sausage was perfect. I haven't had this quality for a long time. Well worth a visit.

PEARSON’s is the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. My wife, my daughter, and I were looking around for such a place. It is our first experience here in the UK. The fish and chips had great flavor and AMAZING crunch. But really, I think the crispiness of the fish is what makes the fish so good and yummy. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to try this kind of food.

Have a lovely portion of fish and chips from Pearson's. The shop was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. Been visiting Pearsons over the many years that it has been there and the food is always good quality and piping hot. Will return for more real soon.

Just needed a snack really but haven't had fish and chips from a chippy for such a long time that I couldn't resist. I'm glad I gave in to the impulse because it was excellent.
